Fall wasn't exactly the idea time for people to start thinking about vacations, and trips that would normally be reserved and better spend during the summer time.
But it had been a long summer, and the situation kind of just fell into her lap.

After all, training, even ones who had something to fight for needed to take a break from the struggle every now and then.
And with the fact that there was someone she care about very much that probably needed some time away from all of that more then she did, the silly fact that the chilled air of fall wasn't going to deter this decision

Rosie's Grandmother owned a villa in Johto, one set up up by the base of the mountains, but only a short distance from the coast. something that was commonly taken advantage of in the summer, where it was used as a home for their family vacations as Rosie grew up.
It had been a project dreamed up by her grandfather, a man Rosie never got to meet.
Instead it was where she held good memories of her grandmother, her mother and sister.
It had been some time since Rosie had been back there though.

What prompted this trip however was something of a bitter sweet situation.
the vacation home was going to be sold.

As beautiful as it was, Grandmother could not visit the home without being haunted by now painful memories of her late husband, and now her only daughter.
It was too much.

The young trainer understood her reasoning, but asked her grandmother to allow her to visit the summer home one last time, and to invite a friend.
It was good timing, Rosie though.

The days were still pretty warm, warm enough to not need a sweater, and be comfortable enough in the sun.
The shores of Johto were approaching steadily, colored brightly in orange, red and yellow from the fall leaves.
upon the announcement from the captain that the land was drawing closer, many of the passengers aboard the SS Anne had gathered along the outside railing to get a better look. among them was a blond girl of 18, hair pulled back in a pink head band, and a equally eager Raichu crouched at her side.

Luke didn't know the specifics, but the offer to get out of Kodo for a while was a welcome one. It seemed that things were finally starting to take a turn for the better, but with circumstances dragging themselves up from the bottom of the bottom, it would be a while yet before he could call them good. A trip to Johto along with one of his best friends, though, certainly stood to improve various conditions. He didn't know how much he needed it until the opportunity was proposed, and he very much appreciated that it had been.

The announcement that landfall was imminent drew Luke to the deck along with his companion, staring out across the shrinking sea toward the coast. The land was ablaze with the season, and it was hard not to feel exponentially more excited as the distance between them and it continued to shrink. He stood with a hand on the railing, watching. "I've never seen Johto before," he said, though he realized after saying so that that was probably kind of obvious. He had, however, looked at one of the little information pamphlets he'd found on the boat while en route, "Is this Olivine then?"

It was difficult not to think of Mieu at times like these, as much as the Flareon loved exploring new places and seeing new things, but the thought was depressing and it wasn't within his power to improve it. For now, it was enough to be in good company and good health; he wouldn't allow the unalterable to spoil his mood.

The blond slid over a little to make friend for the red head that joined her up on the deck, giving him a warm smile before turning back to the shore.
She had taken this trip so many times in the past, she was starting to get that familiar excitement she got when she had been much younger.

"It sure is." she told him, reaching out a hand to point toward the direction of the docks. "That's where this ship will stop." She then pulled her hand off to the side, where there were large clusters of trees father away down the coast, and away from the city. "Then we'll be heading that way."

Blue eyes moved back to her friend, glinting with excitement. "This will be a pretty new experience for me too. I've never been in Johto during the fall."

He followed her gesture towards the docks and the various boats that gathered around them; it looked like there was room enough, though, for the much larger vessel to come to port without disturbing them. Green eyes followed in the indicated direction, losing track of the landscape amidst the intensity of the autumn foliage. Kodo was in the throes of the season as well, but it was something else entirely to see it from a distance, especially against the colors of the ocean and sky.

They would be heading that way. He looked around for whatever landmarks he could make out, remembering how different everything looked once he had stepped off the boat and entered Camphoreon proper; it was assuredly unnecessary given Rosie's familiarity with the area, but it at least made him feel a little more confident about wandering around in this foreign land.

"You usually come in the summer, huh?" It was a summer home, after all. "What's it like then?" Much greener, probably, and maybe full of beach-goers like Camphoreon's shores? It was interesting to consider the similarities between the two regions.

"Yup, most ever summer, it was kind of a family tradition." She explained, grinning with fond memories. "This aria is really fun in the summer, there is always something going on, and its always really warm but never really too hot, then again we have the ocean so close that it wouldn't matter."
She leaned forward onto her elbows at the ship's railing watching the shore get closer and closer. "I can't wait to show you around! its such a pretty home, and I can show you all the places I used to play as a kid. the forest is beautiful. I've never seen it with autumn colors though!"

Rosie was certainly very excited about this whole trip, and it just made it that much more amazing that she got to share it with Luke.

"The pokemon will love it too, this is the first time any of mine have been here. other then Vahy'n of course."
