[This is the holiday ORP sponsored by the League and taking place in Sandalwood. Rockets have been encouraged to attend their own party here. No one character can attend both parties.]

Sandalwood, as a city constructed in and around a large forest, had a special advantage when it came time to decorate for the holiday season. Where other towns like Camphoreon or Jinko could wrap ribbons and wreaths around lampposts and hang banners from buildings, Sandalwood essentially acted a massive congregation of Christmas trees and was decorated accordingly: The main walkways were thoroughly illuminated in the soft glow of string lights, and pedestrians would occasionally find ornaments hanging from nearby branches. The path leading to the Grand Convention Center where the League promised to hold its ball received special attention in its ornamentation, and the gowns of women attending the event glittered in the evening light.

The Center itself certainly didn't pale in comparison to the surrounding area, either; on the contrary, the preparation staff seemed to have taken into consideration that they were in indirect competition with the city's decoration, and so the grand hall was resplendent with cascading white and gold. The high chandelier's light danced to the sweet music of the orchestra from a platform against the back wall. Individuals clad in sharp black suits patrolled the ballroom - representatives of the League and the local polite watching for suspicious activity or simply serving as a presence to give attendees peace of mind. The evening had only just begun, but the event was already swelling in energy.

For a few minutes this afternoon he had thought that his suit had vanished, but luckily it had merely been obscured by his Ganondorf costume. After chuckling at the idea of turning up at the fancy party as the king of the Gerudos he had donned his suit, and dug of his Tri-force cufflinks to satisfy his inner geek, or was it nerd? Anyway, whichever it was Dith was now at the party clad in a warm grey suit with a grey waistcoat matching in colour, but adorned subtly with embroidered diamonds in thread of the same colour. His shirt was white, nothing too eye catching, and finished off with a simply tied light pink cravat.

Nadja wasn't coming tonight, which was a disappointment, but hopefully most of his other friends would be. Failing that he had no problem with finding a stranger to harass into a new friendship. Really, harass was a strong word but when you were extroverted, six foot eight, and built like a wall strong words were often fitting.

With Viktor perched up on his shoulders Dith took a quiet moment to appreciate the beautiful decorations, and the soft music provided by the live musicians. Hopefully tonight would be a good night; he was tired of good times turning into bad ones thanks to the Rockets.

Dove, utterly new to the region and city itself, walked bright eyed toward the Center, amazed and smiling brilliantly at the lights and colors around her. The soft illumination and sparkling gowns reminded her of home and was surely a sight for homesick eyes, though she refused to admit it to herself. It had been her choice to leave it all behind for now.

The young trainer turned, laughing softly to herself as her companion hopped around at her feet, tail whipping back and forth. The joyous little eevee was just as excited as she was, even as they stood outside the party waiting for any sight of anyone they knew from the region.

She pulled the hem of her sparkling red gown closer about her ankles, glad that she had been able to find something to wear on such short notice. The dress was almost perfect, even if she had had to shop on a smaller budget than what she was accustomed to; the snug fit at her waist and hips gave the dress a great silhouette, and the flowing length of the dress fluttered decently, even with Lovey zipping around her feet.

Though they didn't know many people, Dove was sure that she had invited at least one or two that she had met, unable to hold back. Surely Yuri would be there, at the very least. He had at least said he would be there...
Even if he didn't come, she was sure she could manage to meet at least a few new faces. She definitely wasn't afraid of making new friends.

If Yuri had one virtue, it was that he was a man of his word, and he showed up as he promised he would. However, as he approached the party with Repede at his heels, he quickly realized that Dove hadn't been joking when she said this would be fancy. The young man just stood there with a somewhat stunned grin on his face and a nervous little laugh as he watched the people pass by, all dressed in elegant attire.

Yuri was in his usual clothes, and yes he had his sword with him too. Granted he knew that weapons were likely not gonna be allowed, so he planned to stash it somewhere safe before going in. However, seeing all of this... he was starting to regret having agreed to come.

Repede snapped him out of his stupor though when the Growlithe barked, having spotted Dove and her little Eevee.

(Outside of the party)

League function, big fancy party, oh yeah, the good guys had their name written all over it. Let alone that after being in the League for as long as she was, meaning she was able to recognize the league's style, The fact that they plastered their name and emblem all over the place left no question in anyone's mind.
Noooo mistake here.

Rayan knew she wouldn't get in, not in a league run function, but she was particularly looking to get in either.
Why exactly that meant she showed up here? Well, that could very well be chalked up to being curious, or maybe she just wanted to enjoy the city of Sandalwood when it was lit up with a metric ******** of lights.

Heavily shadowed eyes remained half lidded, peering out from under the sweep of gray hair.
Half of her face was ducked up under the high neck of her coat, hands showed deep into the pockets in an attempt to keep warm.
She contented herself with watching the people walking past, most of them dressed to the nines, paying the ex-trainer little mind, as she strolled her own way through the walk ways and snow, making sure to avoid the entrance.

Pulling her face up away from her coat, a long puff of breath followed as she breathed, watching the fog roll from her lips and disappear into the air.
Another pull of steam, this one coming from around her shoulder instead, copying her gesture.

A wide half smirk crossed her lips, and she glanced over at the blue hooded Pikachu poking out from the back of her hood, where he remained half bundled.

It was very rare that Rosie was ever seen with out at least a little bit of pink in her outfit. Sometimes it seemed like more then just a favorite color to the girl, but a part of her very being, of who she was.

But tonight, seemed to be one of those rare occasions, when she entered the room, with wrist length silk gloves, elegant little bows with ribbons draping from the cuffs.
Her dress was white to match, the straps free from her shoulders, level along her chest, and wrapping around her upper arms instead.
A red sash hugged snuggle around her waist, pulled to the back in a long bow that trailed the length of her dress.

Rosie couldn't help but stare around the room as she stepped in, striding forward as she lead herself into two complete turns, taking in the decorations and the atmosphere of the aria.
Vahy'n, as refined as ever strode after her young trainer, fins folded back, and head held high, though her eyes glittered happily as she watched Rosie, not letting the girl get too far from her.

When Lovey took off yipping happily, Dove turned sharply, ready to scold her tiny friend for running off until her eyes fell to Repede.

Finally... she thought to herself, stepping smoothly over toward the Growlithe and its trainer. The small eevee darted to her newly acquainted friends and came to a complete standstill, posing itself stiffly before the fire type in jest toward their last encounter. Dove shook her head fondly and instead looked to Yuri after giving the pokemon a wave of her hand in greeting.

"It's good to see some familiar faces!" she laughed, face pink under the lights. "I was worried you weren't going to come and I wasn't going to know anyone here..."

(Dove)

It didn't take Yuri long to notice Dove and her Eevee thanks to Repede alerting him to their presence. Putting a hand on his hip he tilted his head slightly in her direction with a small smile on his face in greeting.

"Hey, I said I'd come didn't I?"

And here he was. Granted he was already feeling a little bit out of place here. He didn't exactly look the part. Yuri was use to avoiding things like this, or simply not being of high enough class to attend. Cause after all, he didn't exactly have the right attire for formal events.

Repede smirked at Lovey as she straightened up in front of him and he wuffed his amused approval.

Tymiko

PostPosted: Fri Dec 21, 2012 2:58 pm
[Dith, Viktor]

Tymiko stood leaning on one of the strong ropes of a rope bridge linking one gigantic Sandalwood City tree to another. She gazed off into the distance toward the mountains of Kodo, wondering what the fantastically illuminated forest residence looked like from afar. It must have been especially festive. Tilting her head back to admire the lights, ornaments, baubles, and other decor dangling from overhead branches, she was reminded vaguely of the glowing Ledyba that lit up the trees in Johto.

Neither of her two pokemon were out at the moment; Fathom had paled at the idea of having to climb up all those steps to get to the tree-top buildings. He'd had enough trouble climbing the normal trees that Ty so enjoyed. As for Distance, the little eevee was still far too curious for her own good. Neither her trainer nor her father were too keen on allowing her to scale the stairway on her own. Thus the young trainer had withdrawn both father and daughter into their respective pokeballs, both to save them a climb and to protect them from the bitter cold - at least until they were inside the Grand Convention Center.

Speaking of which, it was starting to get quite chilly out here. That was one thing the water trainer disliked about winter - even though the surroundings were beautiful, it was far too cold to stay outside for long. At least not with the clothes she was wearing. A few simple white frost-patterns adorned the bodice and hem of an otherwise plain, blue dress. The main problem was that it was cut to just below her knees, and with nothing else but white stockings and black dress shoes for cover, her legs and feet were freezing. Hurriedly she headed for the Center's entrance.

Once she got inside, Ty's freezing body really wanted her to just sit in a warm chair and curl up. However, being the active and curious young girl she was, her mind wouldn't be satisfied with merely anchoring herself to one place; particularly not during a party. There was too much to look at and so much to do! She walked around and sometimes paced, doubling back in little circles to observe things. Being active by walking around, she figured, was the best way to keep her legs warm here.

As she paced, the child recognized a few faces, but was just a little too shy to approach anyone just yet. After all, she hadn't yet chosen to wear a dress in Kodo, not even to the last festival, so it would be embarrassing to show up in one now. Upon noticing a large man in an elegant gray suit, however, her concerns evaporated in her eagerness to go greet him. "Uncle Dith! Vicktor!" she called, hurrying toward them.

Corinne wasn't a fan of public events. They often had haphazard schedules that were difficult to plan around and tended to be full of people who gave Looks when they saw the service jacket her Growlithe wore. But, well, she had trouble sticking to her guns in the face of persuasion, and Abigail had seemed certain that the party would be fun. And so she had acquiesced to give it a shot, for what had she to lose - the Grand Convention Center wasn't far from home, so if it proved to be much less fun than promised, she had only a short walk to return to the slight comfort of her present living quarters.

For the evening, the girl's childish appearance was subdued by her presentation: a tiered and ruffled red dress falling above her knees, a white mantle falling into trailing sleeves for warmth, similarly white leggings and shoes marking her wake, and dark hair tied up with a crimson band into a fanning bun. It was a bit uncomfortable to be so dressed up amidst so many strangers, but she here she was nonetheless - if not very much partitioned off from the rest of the crowd. Upon arriving, she had searched for a place to make hers until finding someone she knew, and her attention was immediately called to the stage and the performers upon it. And that was where she had remained, standing perhaps closer than what could be called sociologically normal with her fingertips resting lightly against the side of the platform, large violet eyes staring up at the orchestra as they played. Sensing that her trainer would probably be transfixed like that for a while, the Growlithe at her side sat herself down at the girl's feet and stared out across the ballroom attentively.

(Yuri)

Stepping quickly and carefully, Dove made her way over after Lovey toward the young man. "You did," she smiled, doing her best not to shiver. "Good to know you'll stick to your word!"

At least he had stuck to his word, though she wished she had known to help him choose something to wear. If he would even accept it, she corrected herself. And really it wasn't so bad. Though his outfit wasn't exactly what she had in mind when she had mentioned the formal attire of the party, it wasn't horrid. It was certainly not casual... at least, not from what she could tell of this region.

Lovey, satisfied with Repede's reaction, then ran one quick circle around the growlithe, happily yipping up at Yuri as she passed by him. It was too cold for her to just stand around, and besides, it was so pretty out tonight!

Rubbing her hands up and down her arms, Dove glanced toward the door, wanting to be inside the warmth of the ballroom. "Think we should head in? It's freezing out here!"

(Dove)

Well his clothes might have been okay if it wasn't for the fact that he wore them all the time. They were a little worn here and there. Not to mention the stitched up tear in the back that was conveniently almost hidden under his long dark hair. Plus there was likely not many people would think that an opened shirt, rolled up sleeves, and unbuckled boots were... classy. But Yuri Lowell didn't care. He would wear whatever the hell he wanted.

His smile broadened to a coy little smirk. "A man's nothing if not for his word, right?"

At the mention of cold though, he shrugged. "Yeah, I guess it is a little nippy out." He inwardly groaned at the idea of going inside, but would follow Dove nonetheless, with Repede following him.

The girl at the stage would find herself joined by a little Pidgey of grey, black, and white coloration. The little bird landing on the platform right next to her hand, and wearing a collar with holly and a tinkling little golden bell which rang as it landed. The Pidgey chirped excitedly at the music, only to turn her head when a blonde boy come running over.

"Caroline, you shouldn't be flying off like that!" The boy panted as he finally caught up to his little Pokemon. An Igglybuff bouncing after him, along with a white Espeon who followed silently.

The boy then blinked as he noticed the girl, and he rubbed the back of his head sheepishly. "Um... s-sorry about that. I hope she isn't bothering you."

Corinne drew her hands back in surprise as the festive little flying type joined her, watching it in curiosity and following its gaze when it suddenly looked away; Lady was also indicating someone's approach, so the boy was hard to miss. She noted his expression and posture with a keen eye as he began to speak. Her initial response was warm smile and a wave of her hand to dismiss the notion that such an adorable little bird was any trouble. That hand then slipped into a pocket hidden in her long sleeve - far more convenient than carrying around a tote - and withdrew the broad-screened phone that was her primary means of conversation. 'No bother at all,' she typed quickly, displaying the message long enough for him to read before withdrawing it to make an amendment, 'She's awfully cute. All of your pokemon are.' He had quite the entourage of small, cuddly-looking creatures following him.

As the girl showed him her phone, Emil tilted his head in confusion and curiosity. The boy, who was dressed up in a simple suit, blinked at the messages and smiled.

"Oh, um, thanks. Your Pokemon is cute too." Meaning her Growlithe of course. It was a very pretty Growlithe. He'd never seen one quite like that before.

Caroline chirped happily and abandoned her place on the platform to instead alight on Emil's shoulder, while Danish sat on his foot. Byakko though, meandered closer to Corrine and sniffed at the girl curiously, her forehead jewel glowly slightly as she psychicly probed about, sensing the things around her. Once done, she sat at the girl's feet and looked up at her with dim red eyes.
