[PRP] Returning Favors

It had been a few days since Yuri had met Izumi and helped her with restraining her unruly Altaria. And wouldn't you know that something of his actually did end up breaking. Yuri didn't own very many things, but a cheap little microwave was one of them. Having remembered Izumi's offer to fix something of his, he's now headed to the part of town that she had mentioned. It actually wasn't very far from his place at all.

Not having a car or any sort of anything to carry him anywhere, Yuri simply walked while carrying the microwave. Repede followed him dutifully as usual with a candy cane in his mouth. Yuri's sword was also tucked into the sash around his waist, since he couldn't carry both it and the appliance at the same time.

The outside of the shop looked beat up at best, a look accentuated by various graffiti tags on the sides of the establishment and one of the large garage doors, and a sign that was supposed to say "TechnaRepair" in which a few letters had burned out so that it actually said "Tech air". To top everything off, the large plate glass window had a 'Grand Re-Opening" sign covering it up.

The shop was empty.

The only inhabitants were a slight girl with bright blue hair in a bright orange shirt and dirty overalls, and a few pokemon sitting in the empty spots where some cars should have been: A huge white metagross, a white metang, and a grey beldum.

The girl, some employee, looked rather gloomy, but when the door to her shop opened and the little bell on the door jingled, her face lit up just a little.

"H-Hello!"

Using his shoulder to push the door open, Yuri peered in to flash Izumi a grin when she greeted him.

"Hey! Just thought I'd stop by."

Repede slipped in just before Yuri let the door shut behind him. The black haired man then held up the microwave in his arms.

"This thing broke. Think you can help me out?"

"Oh--Yuri, h-hi." Izumi smiled at the familiar face. She hadn't been expecting him to seek her out so soon, but it was always nice to see someone you knew.

The girl walked out from behind a counter and walked over to Yuri, holding out her arms in an offer to take the microwave from him. Meanwhile all three of the pokemon on the other side of the building simply watched.

"Oh yeah. Whats wrong with it?"

Yuri handed over the appliance and rolled his shoulders in a shrug.

"Dunno, it just quit working."

When she took the microwave, Yuri took a moment to look around. This place was definitely pretty beat up. Not entirely surprising given this part of town, but still.

Repede started to look around as well and eventually approached the Pokemon.

All three sets of mechanical glowing eyes turned towards the Growlithe and stared, studying the canine. Only the grey beldum made any move towards the dog pokemon, floating down and slowly moving around Repede, getting a better look. "Bel..." It hummed.

"O-oh kay." Izumi walked with the microwave over to an empty workbench, supporting most of its weight on one arm covered with something that looked metallic. She placed it down and looked it over at Yuri.
"So, um... I'll have to take a look at it figure out whats wrong... and then fix it. It might take a little bit of time..."

Yuri shrugged one shoulder with a smile. "Hey, you're the expert. Take all the time you need. I'm not in any hurry."

However, he wasn't just going to sit there and be bored. "Mind if I take a look around?" Nevermind that he was already some meandering around the shop.

Repede watched the Beldum with his own one eye. "Grrruf," he said back, following the psychic types movements calmly.

"Go right ahead." Izumi said before walking to a tool cabinet and grabbing a screwdriver, a volt meter, and a few other tools and coming back to the workbench. She started diagnosing the microwave by plugging it in and seeing exactly how it wasn't working. Then the mechanic turned the box around and taking it apart.

"Beldum." The robotic pokemon declared in a somewhat happy tone and floated off towards the back of the building and through a door leading to the upstairs.

The other pokemon just watched.

There were a lot of different machine parts scattered around the shop, along with various power tools. In the garage part of the building there were a couple of mechanical lifts for getting under cars, and in the back corner something that looked like a half finished training dummy, like those ones the league used in their facilities.

As the Beldum zipped off, Repede woofed and ran after it, following it up the stairs to see what the metallic Pokémon was up to. Yuri was rather unconcerned as his Pokémon ran off. He trusted Repede, and knew the Growlithe wouldn't do anything that'd get them in trouble.

Thus he just continued looking around, glancing at all the various mechanical tools and devices. He was at least polite enough not to touch anything that looked important or fragile.

"No offense, but this place looks pretty beat up. You been here long?"

Upstairs, instead of more machine shop, there was an apartment; The stairs opened up into a living room, complete with television, dvd racks, video game consoles, varioius nick nacks, a sofa, and a little brown fox-like pokemon curled up there-on.
The beldum floated over and hovered above the pokemon, making humming noises and trying to rouse the little pokemon awake.

Izumi stopped for a second and looked up at Yuri. "Um... two years."

Yuri blinked once and looked back over his shoulder at Izumi. "Oh yeah? Guess you're not really into housekeeping, huh?" But then he couldn't really blame her. He wasn't either. But then, he kinda expected girls to be a bit more... neat. Wasn't cleaning their thing or something? ... Well a lot of them anyway.

But then... this mess didn't exactly look like just your average clutter either.

Up in the apartment, Repede looked around and eventually approached where the Eevee lay. Another one? It seemed like he was running into a lot of these lately.  

[Sao Kasai]

"Oh... um... I got, um, broken into and robbed..." Izumi reached up with her metal hand and scratched her head in a sort of nervous gesture. "I had to leave for a while, and it... took some time to get the money to fix things."

The little brown fox raised her little head, her pink tipped ear twitching. "Zorr..." It looked drowsily at the blue dog pokemon, not registering that there was a new pokemon in the vicinity right away. When it finally did, the little Zorua gave a little yip and backed up against the couch.

Wait... that wasn't an Eevee. Repede stopped in surprise and blinked as the other Pokémon lifted its head. In fact, there was something kinda familiar about its scent. Like he'd smelled one of these before, but not this particular one. At the frightened response from the little fox, the Growlithe sat and wagged his tail, woofing softly in a friendly gesture.

Ah ha, yeah that made a lot more sense. He frowned a little though, knowing all too well the kinds of ruffians than inhabited this part of town. "Oh yeah? That sucks. I've run into some pretty rough guys around here too."  

[Sao Kasai]

"Yeah... me too." Izumi frowned and went back to fixing the microwave. "A lot of my stuff got, um, taken, while the window was being fixed. I'm still trying to replace a lot of it..."
She'd have liked to move her shop to another part of town, as would her best friend, but the same reason she bought the shop in the first place was the same reason she couldn't move locations. Buildings were cheap in this part of town.

The Zorua scooted forward to the edge of the couch little by little, watching the growlithe cautiously. "Zor..." It didn't seem dangerous... she sniffed at the dog pokemon, her tail starting to wag a very little bit.

Repede stayed where he was, although he did paw at the air in a friendly way. When she leaned over to sniff, he did too, aiming to touch noses with her if she'd let him.

"Makes you wonder what the police are doing all day. Friends of mine have gotten mugged, kidnapped, and stolen from." There was just the smallest hint of bitterness in his voice. He didn't really have all that much respect for the authorities. They seemed more content to sit on their asses than do their job.

He paused as he thought for a moment. "Could you use some help?"
