Can put on his headphones to 'hear' voices of truth; if someone lies it will be heard as deafening static-as is, he refrained from using this ability in Halloween. Also can work in worlds without FEAR, but has limited application in areas with distorted FEAR.
Back Story:
To put it simply, one can describe ReiTypeZERO with two ways: Simple and confusing ones.
The simple one, simply put, he is a ghost. Of some kind.
To put it in NOT-so-simple term, he is a ghost of a boy possessing a cursed headphones that has turned from being a Tsukumogami (lit: god of thrown-away items-though more readily recognized as yokai/phantoms.) to a parasitic being from exposed to too much FEAR.
Personality:
*Silently blabbermouth: Due to being absorbed in 'hearing' the world around him, he more often than not zones out. But if you managed to make him interested in something...good music is like chocolate ho him, by the way: addicting and makes him happy. Or a good joke. Or for a good friend. Or talking about tech things.
*Mind yer own business will ya...oh well.: Usually will not take part in acts that have no relation to himself. Carried on from the times when he is human, but he himself wouldn't know about that. But if he can't evade being included in something that he didn't like much, he will try to finish it as quick as possible-of course, using the right methods. Probably at a Honor Student level-of-diligence...no, at a chronic hero syndrome.
*Truth: Due to his dislike to the dissonance produced by the Headphones when someone tells lie, he ultimately only speaks the truth and always fulfill his promises. Also can tell if someone is lying or not...but it seems in Halloween where creatures weave lies as natural as breathing in FEAR, this ability gave him constant headaches. At such, he only wear his trademark headphones in places with sparse population.
*Safely Curious: As a ghost, this nature is their primary one. Learning by the hard way that jacking in his headphones to object(s) in Halloween would probably expose him to FEAR that came from many, many sources (and invertible nightmares accompanying it) he will usually ask anyone else what is the function of a(n) item before touching it. If there wasn't anyone present that know exactly WHAT the item before him does, don't expect him to come near that item AT ALL.
*Technobabble and purple prosing: Often spk 'n slangs an' trms tht caus' hdchs to oth if ty're nt accstmzd hrng ths knd o' spch. But he will only speak like this to his friends or partners.
Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy?
*Because he had nothing to do after crossing the dimension boundaries, yet still needing FEAR to continue functioning since the magical properties of the headphones consumes FEAR constantly, thus in order to survive he must learn how to amass FEAR, to control it...and how to use it. Also, he wanted to make some friends...he himself don't know the reason for this. Probably his past life's wish?
FEAR Ability: BSOD (Blurred Signs Of Dying)

* Can cause electrical disturbances in the surrounding atmosphere with varying intensity. It can be felt like a slight tickle, muscle-cramping current to massive EMP-like wave that burns anything in contact from resistance-related heat. In battles it would cause effect just like a bomb, damaging enemies and objects inside its blast radius, which is centered around himself. That would mean if he want to use this ability then he must open close combat with the opponent. Fortunately...
*Battle: Favoring short-range attacks from FEAR strikes since he are not gifted in long-range section. Although it was mentioned as 'strikes', all it was were picking up objects using telekinetic (poltergeist effect) and flinging it to foes, or creating a small ring of items that can be used as bludgeoning weapon (rock, twigs, etc.) as it revolves around himself. In CQC he prefer using his fists as weapon, as they were charged with shocking electricity (He is a ghost which composed by electric plasma as opposed to ectoplasmic matter after all.)
Physical Description:
Eye Colour: Neon Green
*Usually hidden behind a visor-like glasses, but in battles when he pulled that visor/glasses up you can see them clearly. Each eye will change color and will have a different pupil design when using the BSOD :p Often frightened people when they met him in dark allies due to fact that these eyes glow from within, not unlike cat's eyes that only reflects light. Spooky.
Hair Colour/Style: Light Brown/messy
Skin Colour: Pale White (with some electric blue shade. Instead of ectoplasmic being like other ghosts, his body is composed from solidified electrical current/plasma that’s quite stinging on the touch.)
Clothing Style/Colours: Main colors is blue and black. Prefers clothing articles that covers a lot of skin areas, such as hoodies, long sleeves and full-length pants. It's not only for brightness control (due to his electric plasma body) but to prevent accidental discharges. He is often blamed for static burns though.
Extra: His headphones, of course. It’s his main body, after all.
