Name: Misa Unahana
Age: 17 and Junior in High School
Personality: Pretty outgoing and friendly, although she can have a short fuse. Misa tries to stick up for people that are in trouble, although she isn't the strongest person in the world. The only thing she has going for her is the fact that she took gymnastics since she was a kid, so she is pretty nimble and quick.
Misa tries to avoid conflict the best she can, but her curiosity usually gets her in trouble. She can be a bit cocky at times, and she shows it well. Intelligence is also on her side, but she can make things awkward in an instant. All in all, she's just a normal girl, well..sort of.
Bio: Misa lives alone in a large house. Her parents travel over seas, so she they send her money by mail to help pay for her house, food, clothing, etc. Once in a while she tries to see them, but it's not very often, so she does get lonely at time. Her parents travel overseas to get closer to business associates. At first, just her father would go, leave for a couple months, then come back. Slowly, her mother started accompying him on these trips. This happened when she was around the age of thirteen. At that age, her mother had hired a nanny to look after her. Now that Misa is of the age of seventeen, she got to move away from her parent's house, and from the nanny, and live a life of her own.
Likes: Sweets, friendly people, anything entertaining, music, playing piano, gymnastics, ballet, art of any kind, sleep, rainy days, and water.
Dislikes: The dark, thunderstorms, bugs, rude people, jokes about her height, and anything bitter.

Name: Kazuhiko 'Kaz,Kazu,Prince,The Rat' Sohma
Age 17, Junior
Personality: Kazuhiko is normally a very nice guy, very kind and caring, kind of like a Prince persona. He's always been a bit of a romantic and that's what attracts women to him, which is very noticeable that he's popular with women. He tries to be nice to everyone, but he won't let them go too close to him. He likes to take part in everything that has to do with school, he's the Student Council President, he's been elected every year. The men idolize him and the women cherish him like a prince, he enjoys being the leader of everything. He has a love for music, which he uses as a stress reliever, he has a lot of music talent. He can play many classical instruments; piano, violin, harp, etc. He's a peaceful person who likes to revel in quiet atmospheres and chooses to remove himself from stressful and loud environments, since stress can make him transform into the rat of the zodiac.

On the other side of him, he's a very detached person. He may like to be leader of various school activities and enjoy being nice to people, but the fact of it is, he does it so he doesn't have to think about anything outside of school. He's reserved and doesn't like to let people close to him, for fear of rejection. He was sickly as a child, every now and then his sickness comes back when he gets too weak or stressed out. He was abused by the head of the family as well, which makes him afraid to let people near him. He tries to avoid hanging out with people outside of school. He may seem like a very happy and sociable person, but truthfully, he's very unhappy and very distant from people, but not many people notice that side of him.
Bio: Kazu was born as a very treasured member of the Zodiac, the rat. He was born to be close and treasure the God, the head of the Sohma family. His mother raised and bred him to be obedient and a happy child, then she died of sickness that he later acquired. When he finally met the head of the family, everything hit the fan. It wasn't how he expected it to be, not at all. Kazu was beaten and taken advantage of by the head of the family. He had nightmares every night, unable to sleep, and developed a fear of being around people, eventually he cut off all emotional connection with anyone. He lived in a fantasy dream world that no one knew about, it kept his heart and spirit safe from harm. He felt no pain when the male head hurt him, or forced him to make sinful acts of.. Intimacy. When he finally hit sixteen, he moved out of the Sohma Estate against the orders of the God and moved in with the Dog and the Cat of the Zodiac, then he started to finally feel comfortable. He locked himself up in his room for days, only coming down to eat and use the bathroom. He'd play instruments to rid himself of his fears, after some months, he was finally able to sleep in peace. He decided to go back to school and do Junior year, trying to spend as much time away from his thoughts as possible. He fears the day the God tries to hunt him down, so he tries to keep everyone at a distance, even his family.
Likes: Quiet, sunshine, classical music, sweet food
Dislikes: Sadness, loud noises, hot food, gloomy days

"I do what I must...

KXaXzXuXhXiXkXoXXSXoXhXmXa

...because its needed."

Kazuhiko stepped out of his car, shut the door behind him and leaned against the door. His bright blue eyes looked around cautiously, it was a Friday, just a few weeks before Junior year ended and Senior year would pick up. Was he excited about graduating? No, he wasn't. That would mean free time and give the God more of an incentive to come find him in person, where ever he was. He narrowed his eyes at the thought, he needed to move away from this town, perhaps study abroad, maybe move out the country for good. He didn't think he'd be able to handle it much longer, being even within 100 miles of the head of the family's presence was very suffocating. He tilted himself off the car door and started walking to the front doors of the school, hardly anyone was here, since it was very early in the morning. The only people here would be janitors, teachers, and the Student Council members. He opened the doors and walked in, a gust of warm air hit his face as he entered the school, sliding his bag over his shoulder and started walking down the hall. His mind was wandering, the God's birthday was coming up soon and it was a very important day for the Zodiac, he wasn't looking forward to it, that would mean he'd have to attend. He didn't want to, he would rather bury himself with work. The cultural festival was coming up, perhaps he could bury himself in that kind of work. He took a left in the hall, walking down another, his thoughts still wandering. Why did he have to attend something so trivial? He hated the head of the family, with a fiery passion that no one else could pertain. His mind was still wandering as he extended his right hand out to grasp upon the door handle, turning it right, then opened it. He stepped inside and shut the door quietly behind him, the room was empty, the usual. He hung his bag up on the coat hanger, then took off his school jacket and hung it up with his bag. He moved to the president's desk and gazed at the stack of papers on the desk that he'd have to go over and sign, a bunch of ideas for the festival amongst other things. There were scholarship letters for him to the right of the papers, which he'd look at later. He was an advanced honor student, so he did have many scholarships, more to come on his senior year. He had many college offerings, but he was only looking at those that were in other countries. He needed to get out of here. He pulled out his pen and started to read through the papers, one at a time, then he'd sign a few, then set a few aside. He was the ideal businessman, something he wanted to study up on in college. Many minutes went by before the other student council members started bustling in with tired faces, but Kazu didn't hear them come in, he was really transfixed into his work.

The student council was a group of popular people who would help others in need, kind of like a host club. Everyone wanted to be apart of it, but only a few got selected each year. Him as President since freshman year, most of the members were very attractive males, only one member was a female, she was the club's secretary. She was good at it too, personally chosen by Kazu himself. He didn't hear it, but she had walked up to him and called his name a few times. "hiko-Sama..." He didn't hear her the first time, so she rose her voice.."Kazuhiko-Sama!!" She yelled, only then did he raise his head, his face had a confused expression and his eyes looked dazed and tired. She took one look at his face and turned bright red, he looked sexy and cute at the same time, she was glad she could be the first person to see his face in the morning. "Hmn? I'm sorry Tsubaki-San, what did you say?" His voice sounded tired and loaded with exhausted tones, she smiled warmly, her face still red as she set down a warm cup of coffee in front of him. "Don't be sorry Kazuhiko-Sama, I know you're working. Keep it up" She said softly, then walked around to the other desks, handing out her usual warm coffee to all the other members, then settled in her desk, drinking her coffee. She'd gaze at Kazu every now and then, seeing how focused and serious he was at his work. He's sip at her coffee here and there, which made her happy, even if it was something so simple. Kazu was always popular, with girls and boys, he could never make an enemy. He had many great ideas, the SC(student council) room being one of them. It was decorated to be professional, there were desks all in a circle in the main room, but in the other room that was renovated (since it used to be two rooms, but Kazu bought it out and had it made into one big room), was made like a huge living room and kitchen. There was a huge wrap around couch with a huge coffee table in the center of the room, a huge plasma TV, then a kitchen behind the couch. Tsubaki spent most of her time in the kitchen, while the guys would always debate over rules for school, dress code, or other troublesome things. They all got along, they were all compatible. Which was what Kazu was aiming for. Tsubaki always idolized Kazu's sense of leadership, he was an amazing guy, she hoped to one day work beside him out in the real world.

Kyone stood up and walked over to Kazu, holding a paper in his hand. He stopped in front of the desk and looked at Kazu with calm green eyes, Kyone was always known as the dominating one in the SC, since he was the tallest and had the most manly persona. He was always calm and his temper was always in check, but to be honest, Kyone looked up to Kazu. "Kazu-Chan, can you look over this for me?" Kyone was the only one who could shorten his name and add the honorifics of 'Chan', at least the only one who dared to. Kazu didn't seem to mind, which shocked a lot of people. Kazuhiko slowly looked up at Kyone, his electric blue eyes gazing into the bright green eyes that stared down at him calmly. Kyone's face turned a mellow pink color at the reaction Kazu made, but Kazu didn't seem to notice. He extended his hand out for the paper, lightly brushing his fingers on Kyone's fingers. Kyone handed him the paper and quickly retracted his hand and shoved it in his pocket, but again, the oblivious Kazu didn't notice anything out of the ordinary, yet everyone was watching.."Of course Kyo-San" He said in a tired, gentle voice. He set the paper down in front of him and read it over, nodding his head slowly with each line, then he signed the bottom and held it up for Kyone to take, a tired smile on his face. "Very well done, keep up the good work" He praised, making Kyone blush as he took the paper back, nodded, then sat back at his desk. He was secretly happy and everyone knew it to be so, but Kazu went back to work, finishing up his coffee. Kyone was the Vice President, Kazu's most trusted hand and was the only one who could call him by 'Kyo'. They were the closest out of the group, those two were so compatible that the people in Kazu's fan club supported the KyoXKazu relationship. Of course the two involved never knew about it, but everyone else in the SC did. Tsubaki came around and handed out new cups of coffee, taking the old cups away. Kazu finished with his paperwork and pushed his rolling chair back, stood up, then stretched. He made a groaning sound, which made everyone looked down in shame for getting excited over such a simple sound. "Alright everyone, class is about to start, if you have anything to turn into me, better do it now or wait until after school. We need to have a meeting to debate about the cultural festival, so after your fifth period class, you will be excused. Come here and bring a note pad, we will have a lot to discuss. Dismissed" He said softly, then everyone got up from their desks, looking down, turning in papers to him, then gathered their things, and left. Kazu sorted the papers, then went to the coat hanger, put on his jacket and slid his bag over his shoulder and opened the door. He locked it behind him, then walked down the hall towards his first class. It was still early, but this just meant he could take his time to class, which he did.

"Oh no, oh no!"Misa said exasperated as she slipped on her shoes, stumbling a bit, then slammed open her sliding door. Her hair fell loosely down her back, her school uniform perfectly in place, the only thing she had left was to slip on her other shoe.
Her bag was slung over her shoulder, and she closed the door behind her quickly.
"It's my first day, and I'm going to be late!"
Her voice was in panic as she ran down the path of her house, and out the front gate. Her house was only a few blocks from the school, so even though she did have a car, she didn't even bother to drive it. It would only take her around ten minutes to get to school, six if she ran, and she was running fast.
Her short legs ran in sprints, her chest coming up and down quickly. She was used to running long distances because of gymnastics, she used to run a mile every morning before breakfast. Her cheeks were a light pink, almost matching her hair. She had spent so much extra time on her appearance today, wanting to make a good impression, that she had taken a little bit too much extra time, and now she only had five minutes to get to school before the first bell rang.
Misa adjusted the shoulder strap on her other shoulder, seeing as the one she had been carrying it on was starting to ache, and she picked up her pace.
She slid to a stop when her feet finally touched the sidewalk that lead into the entrance of the school. Her fingers brushed through her hair quickly, and she smoothed out her uniform. Her eyes studied the school, then she shook her head lightly, as if she were in a trance, and briskly walked into the school.
Her muscles clenched when the bell rang through the building, so she was now officially late. A sigh escaped her, well there was no reason to rush now.
Misa pulled her schedule out of her bag, something she had gotten a couple days ago, and had studied it vigorously as to not get lost. The one thing she had forgotten, was her locker number.
Misa found her locker with ease, seeing as she had also put her school books in there when she had come to the school to get her schedule. Her finger traced the school books, until she found the right one, and plucked it from her locker, her bag was left hanging there in her locker along with her other books.
Misa had the room number in her mind, it was almost implanted there. She passed a few students in the hallway, getting curious glances from them. So they obviously knew that she was new, seeing as the school seemed pretty close knit. Her eyes glanced around nervously, her breathing picked up a bit. Misa bit her lip when she spotted the room number, and the closed door. She could hear the loud class inside, and she automatically knew that as soon as she entered, all eyes would be on her.
Her feet froze in front of the door, her eyes closed, and she let a long breath move through her. Her nerves calmed, and she opened her eyes. There was a determined look there. Her hair was pretty with it's waves, her uniform was perfectly smooth, she wore no make up, but with her complexion, she didn't need to, and her smile lit up her eyes and her face.
Misa clenched onto the door, then slowly opened it. She stepped inside, the smile still on her face. As soon as she stepped in, and closed the door behind her, her posture was turned into a bow towards the teacher.
"I'm really sorry I'm late." Her voice was soft, almost melody like, when she spoke. It seemed to fit her look of innocence. Misa lifted from her bow, her hair seeming to fall perfectly into place.
"You must be the new student." The female teacher commented, and stood from her desk, her finger trailing along a list of names. Misa's name would be near the bottom.
"Yeah, sorry again." An awkward giggle escaped her lips as she tried to ignore the stares that bore into her. Her eyes only laid upon the teacher.
"Oh it's quite understandable. This place is so large, it's a surprise you made it here when you did." The teacher laughed, and walked towards Misa. She stood by her desk, and motioned towards the new girl.
"Class, I would like you to meet our new student, Misa Unahana." The teacher spoke kindly, and Misa finally turned to lay her eyes on the class.
Her face adorned a cute, light blush, and she bowed to the class.
"It's a pleasure to meet all of you. I hope we can become good friends." Another giggle escaped her, and she lifted her body from the bow.
Her eyes noticed a couple of the male students blushing, and the females looking at her with a smile. Everyone seemed to be fond of her so far, the school did seem to be quite nice.
"Misa, you may sit in the back there."
The teacher pointed to the only open seat available to the class. Looks like she was seated in between two males, and behind a female student.
Misa nodded, and made her way to the back, a smile on her face the whole time.

"I do what I must...

KXaXzXuXhXiXkXoXXSXoXhXmXa

...because its needed."

Kazuhiko has decided to stop by the office while he still could to turn in some paperwork that he had to go over the night before, he was always welcome to talk to the superintendent and the principal, he has a very good relationship with the school board as well. His natural charm and polite demeanor always got him what he wanted, but he never really tried to make people do what he wanted, they did it on their own accord. They had been sitting in the conference room for some time, going over ideas and whatnot, but it seemed that they agreed with Kazu full heartedly, which made him put on a big smile for them, which made the two male school leaders blush at his charm. The bell rang and Kazu stood up, calling the meeting to an end. The two men stood up after him, then all three bowed to each other in unison.."Thank you for your time gentlemen, I'm sure we'll be in contact soon" He said softly, then put everything in his backpack and left. He slung his back over his right shoulder and walked down the hall to his classroom, he was usually excused for being late, since he always had meetings with the higher ups and his first class teacher never really minded, she was a nice lady. Yet, he fascination with him was deep. A lot of the female teachers had fallen for him, but they knew that he wasn't looking for a love partner, so they always treated him equal as a student, but with some exceptions because he was SC president. He had all the same classes with his SC members, because they were all equally smart, but Kazu always stood out as the advanced student, ranking number one for three years so far out of everyone in the school. School favorite? Perhaps, but he demanded to be treated equally with no special treatments, except his meetings with the higher ups, he was excused for being late to his first class.

His mind kept wandering as he got to the door to his first class, American literature, he enjoyed this class. He'd been speaking English since he was a child, he always had tutors because he didn't take public school until he hit high school. He was always caged up with the God and wasn't allowed to leave, so he didn't take part in elementary or middle school. He basically tested out of them all and entered high school right off the bat, to be honest, he preferred public school. 'Enough thinking' He thought to himself, he always wasted more time thinking than actually speaking, bad habit of his. He was never allowed to leave the God's room, so he only had himself to talk to. He turned the handle on the door and entered inside, everyone looking at him instantly. His eyes weren't focused on anyone but the teacher, who instantly blushed when she realized he was looking at her. "Pardon my being late Miss Kamihana-Sensei, I had a meeting" He said softly, bowing to his teacher. She bowed in response and smiled as she rose back up.."Do not fret Sohma-Kun, I was informed. We have a new student by the way, Miss Unahana" She said softly, directing her hand at the young girl who sat beside Kazu's Vice President Kyone and his Treasury Blake, both very attractive young men. Kazu also noticed she sat behind his Secretary Tsubaki, which made him crack a bit of a smile. All the girls instantly sighed in happiness when he entered, but smiled and blushed massively when he smiled. Even an outsider would know he was adored equally with the men and women in the school, even the staff and faculty.

He bowed to the new girl, his longish black/blue hair falling over his electric blue eyes.."Welcome to our school Miss Unahana, my name is Kazuhiko Sohma, I do hope you will feel most welcome here" He said in a polite tone, then rose back up and walked around everyone's desks and walked across the front and to a desk near the windows and in the very front row. Sitting near the outside always made him think clearly, so he had a seat in every class near the windows. He sat beside his Representative, Kleine and in front of a well-known female tennis player who has gone to state and won since she was a freshman in middle school. He slid his bag off his shoulder and set it on the windowsill beside him, he pulled out his books and started to take the daily English notes on the board, everyone followed his example and did the same. A third party looking in, they would know he was idolized and loved by everyone in the school. If the new girl noticed at all, as the day would go by, almost every girl in the school would have either Student Council Fan or Prince Kazuhiko Fan bracelets on their right wrists. The fans all had one thing in common, they were in the fan club. It was a club that was secretly created by the girls and boys in the school for after school activities, it hid behind the name of 'Personal Interests Club' So Kazu and the rest of the SC wouldn't find out about the fan club. Over all, looking at Kazu, he paid hard core attention to the teacher's instructions, as did the rest of the SC. It was easy to point out the SC, they were the one's who paid the most attention and looked very serious about each class.

Misa had been sitting in the back, listening to the teacher intently. Her eyes didn't stray once until she saw another student come in. He was a male, pretty attractive, and his cool smile made her own smile appear on her face.
"Thank you." Her voice was soft again, and she placed the same cheerful smile on her face. Her eyes studied the students around her, they all seemed to adore the male that just entered. Her eyebrow raised slightly in curiosity. Sure, the guy was attractive, but what was so special about him?
Of course she didn't voice this opinion out loud, she didn't want to offend someone. Maybe if she got to know him more, she would figure out why everyone adored him so much.
Misa was snapped out of her trance and realized she had been doodling in her book. They were slight sketches off the chibi form of the students around her. There was even one of the male that entered. What was his name again?
Her mind wandered to try and think of the name, and finally it came to her. Kazuhiko. That was his name.
The sketch of him was a cute one. He was sitting on top of the paragraph, a light blush on his face, and he was scratching the back of his head. A quiet giggle came to her as she looked at all her doodles. She really didn't want to erase them, but she knew she would have to eventually.
She was again brought out of her thoughts when she heard the teacher call her name.
"Misa, can you please read the next paragraph?" The teacher had her book open, and Misa looked down. Finding the paragraph she was talking about, Misa stood and read it clearly, her voice was again soft and cool. When she was finished she sat back down. The class went by smoothly, and finally , she heard the bell ring.
"Now it's just time to find my next class." Misa said to herself, a slight giggle escaping her lips. The teacher had heard her, and stood up.
"I'm sure one of the students wouldn't mind showing you, what is your next class Misa?"
Misa turned to the teacher, and a light blush appeared on her face when she had realized she had heard her talking to herself. Misa giggled a bit, and placed her hands delicately behind her back, still holding her english book in it.
"I have art...well I think it's AP art." She said, and scratched her head lightly to try and remember, then a smile spread across her face, making a couple of the male students blush lightly.
"In fact, yes, I'm sure that's what I have next."

"I do what I must...

KXaXzXuXhXiXkXoXXSXoXhXmXa

...because its needed."

Kazuhiko was slowly starting to pack up, everyone else was too, getting ready for the next class. Of course all the SC members had the same class, so it would be easier for them to keep in touch and navigate through the school with ease together, they were always seen together, so it wasn't really that hard to spot them out of everyone. They stood out, like a sapphire in a group of diamonds. The various SC members congregated over to Kazu, who stood up, shouldering his bag. "You ready for art Kazu-Chan?" Kyone asked in a gentle tone of voice, then brought up his right hand and cupped Kazu's chin and brought it up so their eyes connected, then Kyone ran his thumb over Kazu's lips. Yup, it definitely looked like a Yaoi shoujo manga now. Yet, the SC members knew it was normal, but everyone else stared with a deep blush on their faces. Kyone's face was stern, but caring with a soft pink blush on his face, but Kazu looked normal with no expression. "You had something on your mouth, you are a sloppy eater" He said softly, humor in his eyes. Kazu usually never took care of himself, so it was up to the SC to make sure Kazu ate and drank something each day. Kyone was mostly the one who was even close enough to a friend of Kazu's that was brave enough to touch and talk to him like that. The president never really complained or showed that he disliked being touched by Kyone, so everyone assumed that Kyone was the only one able to do such a thing. In the end, Kazu parted his lush lips and nodded his head.."My apologies, I'll try to be more careful Kyo-San" A soft tone was used with the taller male from the President, which made Kyone release his hand quickly and put on a smile. They fell into place and all the SC guys surrounded Kazu; Kyone to the right, Blake to the left, Kleine behind Kazu, and Tsubaki to the left of Kleine and behind Blake. It was the usual formation, used to protect Kazu from being harassed or touched by anyone.

They started to move, when Kazu heard the teacher and the new girl talking together about finding the AP Art Class, that was where he and the rest of the SC was going. He stopped in front of the door and turned around, breaking through his crowd of protection. His electric blue eyes settled on the young, pink haired girl. He was doing this because he was a kind and dignified leader, plus, it was the job of the President to help the students of the school, he was well-known for it. He stood a few feet from the girl, not wanting to get too close. Kyone stood close behind Kazu, looking at his electronic tablet at the upcoming events for the SC. "Miss Unahana, would you like for us to show you to your next class? We do have the same one as you" He asked softly, being polite to the girl. The teacher looked at Kazu and smiled warmly, he was such a kind young man and well mannered.. If only he wasn't her student.. She shook her head, blushing secretly, but no one noticed. He offered the new girl a kind and polite smile, he knew how it was to come into a school and not know what to do, of course no one knew of him until he'd come to this school when he was a Freshman. Yet, he quickly gained the love and honor of everyone in the school, he only wanted to help the girl. He wanted to make her feel welcome, this school was well known for helping out people, no one hated anyone. Kazu always made sure that people got along, even going so far as making an anonymous letter box for people to write secret letters to him if they were being harassed or bullied. Yet, there's been no letters, which made him happy. He liked when people got along, it just showed that he could make a difference in people's lives and make school life easier on people and make them want to come to school. This school's reputation for a student-friendly environment has tripled since he came to this school, which was good for him and the school, people wanted to come to this school. The population had doubled, more funds came in, so the school would have to renovate soon.

Misa heard the same voice from before and turned her head toward the male. She studied the formation they had taken. It was almost like they were protecting him, like they couldn't be away from each other.
"Kind of like a prince." Misa commented to herself quietly, then a blush seeped on her face, realizing she had said her thoughts out loud. Her hands came up in a defensive and awkward position, the blush still on her face.
"I-I mean...haha." She giggled, and placed her hands behind her back. The fact was, he did remind her a lot of a prince. Everyone seemed to adore him, and they were attatched to him. Like they would be lost without his guidance.
"The same class?" She asked, her head tilting, the same smile on her face.
"Thank you, I really appreciate it...Sohma-san." She said, trying to be formal. She didn't know that male yet, and she didn't want to offend him, or any of his friends.
"I-I'm afraid I have to stop by my locker to retrieve my sketch book...I don't want you all to go to all the trouble, I'm sure I can find it." Another giggle escaped her, and the light blush still appeared on her face. It seemed that there wasn't a mean bone in little Misa's body, except when people crossed the line on a few things.
She was shorter than him, well more like shorter than all of them. Her body frame was small, and her hair almost reached her butt. Her complexion was smooth, a light pink always adorned her cheeks, and her auburn eyes were always bright.
Her uniform had to be ordered in extra-small, and it seemed to fit her body well. Although she would feel much more comfortable in a sweater.
Her eyes studied him, then she looked away. They all seemed to be so close knit, she really didn't want to intrude their group either.
Really, she felt like an outsider right now. The whole school seemed to be like a family. Maybe in due time, she would feel the same.

"I do what I must...

KXaXzXuXhXiXkXoXXSXoXhXmXa

...because its needed."

Kazuhiko's face turned a light pink when she called him a Prince, his right hand lifted up to nervously scratch the back of his head. No matter how many times the girls and boys in the school called him a Prince, it still made him nervous and embarrassed. It wasn't used to it, especially not used to it being said to his face. All the other SC members looked down with their faces equally embarrassed because they all called Kazu a Prince when he wasn't around, but it seemed that the new girl was the first to call him it to his face. Kazu didn't act negatively to it, actually it was more positive than anything. He noted how she reacted to saying her thoughts out loud and his smile returned to his face, giving her more reassurance that he didn't mind being called that. He thought she had a charming smile, since she was always smiling, it was kind of like a relief to him. She'd fit in the school well if she kept smiling, she wasn't the first person to be new to the school. Him and Kyone were the first new people to come to this school Freshman year, but they fit in quite well, they clicked together instantly. Ever since then, Kyone had always had Kazu's back. Tsubaki was a loud and bossy female, who blended in with Kyone and himself. Blake was a quiet smart guy who spent most of his time in the library, Kazu was the first to become his friend. Then in Sophomore year, Kleine was the new guy and was scared of everyone and always sat alone, but Kazu and the rest of the SC made him feel welcome. They were all like a family, but almost untouchable, like a new level of human beings. They were all kind and courteous, like knights around their Prince. Yet, Kazu was always sure to make people feel calm and at ease around him, he had a natural charm. Little did anyone know, all of them were members of the Zodiac. Unlike all the stories of Fruits Basket, they all had different names and they not all lived their whole life with the God. They actually never met each other before outside of high school, but they all recognized each other as Zodiac members, probably a main factor in why they were so compatible together. Kazu was the rat, Kyone was the ox, Blake was the dragon, Tsubaki was the boar, and Kleine was the tiger. All the other members were too afraid of the God to come to a public school, so they remained in the Sohma estate, being pestered by the God and isolated from the outside world. The cat was.. Somewhere, not that Kazu gave a sh*t.

Kazuhiko's blush subsided when Misa spoke about following her to the locker being too much trouble, he gave a small chuckle and smiled warmly, she was a funny girl. "It's no trouble at all Miss Unahana, we're the Student Council, it is our job to help new students around the school." He said softly, being polite without getting to close. At that moment, Tsubaki, the only female Zodiac, parted through the crowed and stood beside Misa, smiling happily down at her. "Like Kazuhiko-Sama said, it's no trouble. You and I can be best friends, so let's head on to your locker. Kazuhiko-Sama, Blake-Sama, Kleine-Sama, Kyone-Sama.. ya'll can head to art class before us, we'll meet you there. We're gonna have some girl time." She said, directing her bright hazel golden eyes at the group of boys, nodding her long caramel-colored head. Kyone nodded, kind of sighing in relief. He didn't know what would happen if the female outsider were to touch one of them, that would be a baaaad idea, which would mean that Blake would have to erase her memory and that would make Kazu sad. Kyone put his right arm around Kazu's waist and they all walked off in unison towards the art room. Tsubaki smiled down at the young girl, they had a while until the second class would begin, the school was pretty lenient with their students. "I'm Tsubaki by the way, I'm the Student Council Secretary. Pleasure ta meetcha!" She was a happy girl, but her way of speaking was a mixture of Japanese and come kind of city slang. She came from Tokyo to this school, her way of speaking used to get her made fun of in the city school, she heard this school was student friendly, so she came here instead and everyone accepted her. Tsubaki was sixteen, the youngest Junior in the school, she was book smart and street smart, always got what she wanted, and was always a sociable person. Her personality was a bit aggressive, but that always made the girl want to be her friend because she was so tough minded and she could fight. She was five foot ten, which was taller than most girls, but shorter than the guys she hung around with. She had long wavy caramel-colored hair and big, bright hazel golden eyes. She was a natural beauty with some kind of innocent aura, but her personality always threw people off because her looks didn't match her personality. All the Zodiac members had a charm about them, some more than others. The closer to God the Zodiac animal was, the more beauty and charm the Zodiac host got. So figuratively speaking, Kazuhiko had the most charm while Tsubaki had the least. She made that up with a very surprising personality.

Misa blushed even more when she saw him blush, seeing the expression on his face made her realize that he didn't mind the title at all. She studied him intently, then broke the trance she was in when another woman came skipping up to her. Misa giggled when the girl commented about girl time. She seemed to be cheery, and very outgoing. Best friends? She wanted to be her best friend? Well she needed one of those.
A smile graced her lips, and she looked between Kazuhiko and the girl, then finally she decided to just rest her eyes upon the girl.
"It's a pleasure to meet you Tsubaki-san." Misa said, and bowed lightly, her hair falling over her shoulders. Her accent sort of threw her off, but she kept the smile on her face, hiding it.
Misa straightened from her bow, and let her escort her down the hall. There were many students in the hallway, all them looking at Misa with curious glances. Two pretty girls walking down the hall together, side by side, it sure did get a lot of glances.
Misa stopped suddenly and glanced at the wall at a certain flyer. She bore into' the flyer, a smile spread across her face. She leaned in, looking closely at it.
"Cheer leading try outs?" Misa read out loud. She had never cheered before, but she had taken gymnastics. She had never seen cheerleaders, only in movies.
"Tomorrow after school." Misa imprinted it in her mind, memorizing the time. Of course she wanted to try out, she wanted to be a part of this school, she wanted to fit in. Misa then turned around, seeing her locker.
Opening it, Misa widened her eyes a bit. A small gasp escaped her, and her fingers touched the soft, deep red petals of the flower.
A single rose had been placed delicately in her locker, and she picked it up. The petals felt soft on her skin as she traced her finger on it.
"Where did this come from?" Misa asked softly, her eyes staying on the flower, never once looking up.
The hallways were starting to empty, but there were a few students walking through the hall here and there.

Kazuhiko walked off with his group, turning right down the hall and into the classroom. They sat down near Kazu and began the lesson, even though there was hardly anyone there, they didn't want to have to deal with work after school, so they just got it done before everyone else. Over achievers? Yes. That's what made them smart and successful, so no hatin'. Tsubaki followed the girl to her locker, then read the cheerleading try-out flyer, so the girl was interested in cheerleading? Ha! Tsubaki has been the cheer captain for a long time, but she'd keep that a secret until after school tomorrow. She followed happily along to Misa's locker and smiled brightly when the rose petals came out, she made a teasing 'Oooooo' sound and then giggled like a girl.."Looks like someone in this school already has a crush on you, I wonder who it could be..? The only people who have access to people's lockers is the Student Council President and school staff" It couldn't be Kazu could it? Her eyes blinked rapidly, unless someone stole the key from one of the staff members. Which was rare and rather... Creepy. She would have to talk this matter over with the SC later on, this was a troubling matter, unless it really was Kazu.. She mentally tossed that thought, it was impossible, Kazu had only met Misa. The thought was getting to her, no matter how much she tried to deny it. She didn't think Kazu liked anyone in the school, wouldn't the other guys tell her if Kazu liked Misa? She didn't know if she was jealous or just flustered at how random this encounter was. A few girls were walking to their classrooms, when they saw the rose petals and heard Tsubaki talking about how it could be the SC president, their eyes narrowed a bit as they walked into their classrooms.

Misa stood back when she mentioned the student council president, or even any of the members. She let the rose drop from her fingers, and her eyes glances around. Many of the girls walking down the hall had overheard, and were now staring at Misa.
Misa put her hands up defensively, a blush on her face, almost matching her soft hair.
"N-No, it must have been a mistake. Wrong locker number, that's all." An awkward, and nervous giggle escaped her lips. Her hand fumbled with getting her sketch book out of her locker, and quickly walking away from Tsubaki. She froze, and turned around. Her body bent into a bow.
"Thanks for walking with me Tsubaki-san." Then she turned around, and walked quickly away. Many thoughts fumbling through her mind.
If people started thinking that Kazuhiko liked her, then she would get some enemies, especially from girls. That was the last thing she wanted. Misa wanted to be welcome, she wanted to be part of the family she didn't have.
Misa stumbled a bit while walking, the room number of the art room in her mind. Her eyes wandered from class to class until finally she found the number she was looking for. Pure, and simple luck she had found it.
The door was open to welcome in students since the bell hadn't rung yet, and Misa slipped inside. Her eyes didn't meet anyone's, even though she knew their eyes bore into her. She also knew that Kazuhiko was already there, along with his friends.
She ignored them, making her way to the back of the class, her sketch book clutched into her hand. A light blush adored her face, and the cheerful smile she had on her face in the past was now gone. Finally making it to the desk, she sat down, her heart racing.
Her eyes bore into the table, those single sentences going through her head multiple times. Repeating themselves over and over, until she shook her head lightly. Her fingers traced along her sketch book and she opened it to a random page, white stared back at her.
Misa went to reach for her charcoal when she froze. She had forgotten to grab it in her locker, and right then the bell rang. Most of the students had already filed into the class, and she didn't want to catch attention to herself if she got up and left.
Her heart sank in chest in absolute defeat. There was nothing to do but sit, and stare at the blank page. No charcoal, no pencils, and no smile.

...because its needed."

Tsubaki had come in shortly before the bell and took her seat across from Kazu, she started whispering quietly amongst the guys and brought up the subject about Misa's locker being broken into and flowers put in there. Kazu nodded his head, saying that the SC sponsored the welcoming rose, Tsubaki had forgotten that they still do that, so did everyone else. Kazu looked over at Misa, noticing how upset she looked without her smile, his electric blue eyes saddened at the very view. Did she get upset over the roses in her locker? He would understand if she did, she probably wasn't used to it, but every time a new person comes to the school, the Principal would put some kind of flower in the student's locker, depending on the month's rose. It was welcoming new students into their school, he would have to clear up the misunderstanding. He slowly stood up from the table, everyone else rose too, but he told them no, with his hand. They all sat down and he walked over to Tsubaki's table with his charcoal box and sketching pens of various sizes and shapes and thicknesses. He sat down in front of her and placed the box and pencil case in front of him, between them. He looked into her eyes, his expression was troubled, he didn't want her to feel sad or worried about not being liked. "Miss Unahana, Tsubaki was telling me that you found a surprise in your locker just now?" His voice was soft, no one seemed to be paying attention to their conversation. He did notice how upset she looked, it didn't really go too well with Kazu's caring nature. He bit on his bottom lip, drawing his lip out slowly, when it came out, his bottom lip was a soft cherry pink. He was about as nervous as she was walking into the first class of the day, but like her, he was going to be brave about it. No one should have to feel unwelcome on the first day, it was just that people have been here for so long, that they forgot the welcoming flowers. He cleared his throat softly, lacing his fingers together nervously. Ya, he was used to talking to people, but he wasn't used to doing it alone. She was probably the first person to witness him being so nervous, a very rare treat indeed, this just showed how much of a human he really was.."I wanted to apologize to you for Tsubaki's accusations, she forgot about the Welcome Flower tradition. Whenever we get a new student in this school, the Principal goes to their locker during first class and puts the month's flower and petals in the locker. I had it happen to me my first day in this school and Tsubaki as well, but I suppose she's gotten so comfortable here, she forgot. Other people have too, we haven't had a new person come into our school in some time, so I hope you'll forgive me for not mentioning it before everything got a bit hectic." He bowed his head in respect to her, a polite way of apologizing and trying to make her understand that he was being honest in all aspects. Valentine's Day was coming up, so there was no doubt in his mind that she'd get more flowers and perhaps a lot of chocolates from girl's who admired her. Then White day would come around the it would be the boy's turns to give the girls something, which was always a very hectic day as well. "I do hope you understand the traditions in our school, it would really be a shame if you lost your smile any longer than you have now" He said softly, looking directly in her eyes. He didn't like the fact she wasn't smiling, it showed all over his face.

The people in the room bowed their head to Misa as well, they had forgotten about the Welcoming tradition as well, so they silently gave her their apologies. Tsubaki bowed her head from across the room, her face a bright red in embarrassment. He still sat there in front of Misa, his charcoal box and pencil case still in front of her, he was willing to let her borrow them for the rest of the class time, he didn't really need them at the moment. He was done with his sketching assignment, so he would lend her his drawing tools. He offered her a polite smile, trying to reassure her that everything was okay. For some reason, he always seemed to come to this girl with a smile, usually it was purely out of business or he felt compelled to, but his smiles came much easier around her when she was smiling. She had an innocent and happy aura about her, which made it refreshing to be near her. He usually didn't come around people without the rest of the SC near him, so she had to feel special in some way. Besides, she was seeing a rare side of him. The caring, nervous, human-like side. Usually he seemed untouchable around the SC members, right now, he looked oddly vulnerable.

Misa was staring at her sketch book, her eyes boring into it intently, as if a drawing was going to magically appear on the page. She looked almost determined to make a sketch appear out of thin air, that was why she jumped slightly when a voice came to her ears.
She hadn't even noticed him walking over, or even sitting down. Her eyes first trailed over his charcoal pencils, then he met his eyes.
A surprise? That wasn't really what upset her, it was the looks she had gotten after Tsubaki had suggested he had done it. Misa sat there, quietly, listening to him. He seemed to be nervous, so naturally, a reassuring smile came upon her face unwillingly. She couldn't help it.
Her eyes trailed along the students bowing their heads, and a very deep blush appeared on her face. There was no reason to be bowing their heads, she was the one who overreacted.
"I-I see...don't I feel silly." A giggle escaped her, the soft giggle that echoed through the room. The giggle that put smiles on others faces, and light blushes on their cheeks.
The blush on her own cheeks was light now, lighter than her pink hair. She fiddled with her own fingers, her eyes trailed downwards. A decision was brought up in her mind, and she fumbled with it a bit.
Her chair scooted backwards, and she stood. Her body turned into a bow, her hair falling around her. Her skin seemed to glow lighting, and her voice was soft and almost melody like.
"Thank you all, for being so nice. I feel so welcome." She stood from her bow, and glanced at the people around her. Her smile was still present as she sat back down in her seat slowly.
"Thank you, Prince." She whispered, only loud enough for him to hear. She winked, and the blush still ever so present on her face. Another giggle escaped her, and she folded her hands lightly in her lap.
"It looks like I'm not getting any work done in here today." She smiled, still remembering she was lacking art utensils. The nervousness was gone from her face, in it's place was that charming smile.

"I do what I must...

...because its needed."

Kazuhiko blushed when she smiled, but shortly after she started giggling and it made him smile a bit more. She started thanking everyone for being nice to her and he looked down a bit, looking at her sketch pad that had nothing on it. He felt kind of bad for not telling her about the Welcoming tradition in the first place, he could've prevented all of this from happening. Yet, he kind of felt like it was his fault. Many thought were running through his mind, perhaps he should put up a new reminder about the Welcome, or maybe he should have an assembly. Yes, this would give him the chance to let people know about the Valentine's Day secret cupid program as well. Valentine's Day was a big deal for this school, it gave everyone the chance to find High School love, which was important in this day and age. Kazu always got admired by many girls and boys, but he never really acted upon them, to be honest he didn't know what to do when it came down to love and feelings. He never felt love himself, so he wasn't sure how to give it out in return. He hoped that one day he could show someone his heart, but he'd been beaten down so many times that he wasn't sure if he even had a heart, figuratively speaking of course. She had sat back down and called him prince again, thanking him and winked at him. His face turned an even deeper red in reaction to it, but he hid it well. He wasn't sure how to react on it, he wasn't used to being vulnerable and talking with someone by himself, especially a girl that was a student in the school he pretty much ran. He nodded his head, giving her a silent 'You're welcome', then rose his head to look into her eyes when she spoke. He was a respectful person, he always made eye contact when speaking with someone, no matter how nervous he was.

He parted his lips to speak on the matter of the art class, there was still much time before the class ended and the assignment was to draw someone in the classroom in any style they wished to. He set his notebook down on the table in front of him, since he set it on his lap when he sat down to speak with Misa. "If you wish, we can use my utensils to sketch. The assignment was to sketch someone in the room, I was about to start another drawing. I hope you don't mind me using you as a model, since you're right in front of me" He said calmly, his voice carrying an even tone and being kind to her. She had a beautiful smile, he wondered if he could catch it on paper and make it somewhat realistic. Yet, he knew beauty could not be captured on paper or picture or painting, but the true beauty was what lay in the eyes of the artist. Kazu was very talented in many things, he was in the art club, the classical music club, the debate team, and even a creative writing club. He always stocked up his schedule so he would have a reason not to go home early every day, since every day for him was pretty much packed senseless. His electric blue eyes just looked at her, memorizing every detail about her face. If she would allow him to draw her, he would do his best to capture her on the paper, but he knew that it would take a long time to get it perfect. He was doing this out of leisure, not because he had to.

Misa watched him intently, as if she was studying him and trying to memorize him. A smile appeared on his face when she could see the slight embarrassment on his face from her little 'prince' comment. Her eyes looked down then, realizing she had been staring at him for far to long. Her eyes glanced around, noticing the narrowing gazes of some of the females of the class. They couldn't be jealous, could they?
Misa shook her head to clear the thoughts, and she then trailed her eyes back to his, listening to him.
"I don't know if I'll be the best model." Misa said, and scratched her head nervously, the blush seeping back onto her face. It seemed like she blushed a lot around him, that thought made the blush even darker. Maybe he didn't notice it.
"Okay, how about we compromise. You can use me as a model, only if I get to sketch you." Another wink, and she giggled. Her fingers brushed the charcoal pencils, and she plucked up one delicately.
"Thank you...I'm afraid I had forgotten mine in my locker." Another nervous giggle, she watched him, very intently. Her teeth bit the inside of her cheek as she gazed into his eyes. To the outside world, it would've looked like they were conspiring together.
She pulled a smile on her face, and her hand began to work, her eyes trailed back down her paper. She was going to draw something simple, to get her mind away from things. Focusing just on shading and detail of his face.
It was Kazuhiko's face, but then again, it wasn't as well. She couldn't quite get his features on paper perfectly. It sent her teeth biting down on her bottom lip.
She hadn't realized this until a splash of red appeared on her paper. It had landed right on the cheek of her Kazuhiko, the one on the paper. Her eyes widened a bit, and her fingers went up to touch her chin.
She brought her fingers down, and the same color red covered the tip of her fingers. It was wet and sticky, and it brought a bright red blush appear on her face.
Apparently, Misa had been so focused on drawing, she hadn't realized she had bit her lip too hard and it drew blood. She didn't even notice the blood trailing down her chin until it had landed on her paper.
Her hand covered her mouth, trying to hide it, and her eyes lit up with a mixture of embarrassment and horror.
Her chair screeched as she slowly stood up and walked towards the door, leaving the sketch book flat on the table. She was silent, never muttered a word to Kazuhiko, she had just gotten up and left.
Misa walked quickly down the hallway, to the girl's bathroom, and pushed the door open. She stood in front of the mirror, a cold paper towel now pressed against her lip, the blood seeping onto the paper towel as well.
