Distance chased a Pidgey in a park within Camphoreon, her trainer and father close by. Tymiko was training with Fathom to control his Surf attack better, using a park fountain to avoid getting passerbys wet. He also practiced, with Ty's encouragement, melting into water and reverting back with speed and precision.

The Eevee had been interested in watching the first couple times, but quickly got bored and wanted to go exploring. She pranced about a little after the Pidgey had flown out of sight, rolling in the grass and looking around the park for other pokemon out who might have wanted to play.

The large park had been a common destination for Luke for a number of reasons during his stay in Kodo. It had served as a location that offered wide spaces for training his pokemon or himself, and it had been a place of silence and solitude during times when preferred to be by himself. Today it was a place of rest and recreation, the former for himself and the latter for the baby Eevee in his possession. Rem was young and energetic, and he was reluctant to confine her in her pokeball when her great curiosity obviously begged for the freedom to explore. Luke wasn't exactly up for the task of chasing the little Eevee around the park, though, so he reclined on one of the provided benches, earbuds filling his thoughts with sound, and left the task of overseeing Rem's activities to the capable Tenebrae.

…Capable indeed, Tenebrae would have remarked under his breath had he been consulted beforehand of his task. He monitored the little Eevee carefully nonetheless, however, recalling the loss of the Flareon called Mieu and recognizing that he had been entrusted the task of preventing another such tragedy. He watched from a distance as the exotically colored normal type pranced around in the park's open spaces.

Ah HA! There were a pair of small figures close by. Tymiko and Fathom wouldn't scold Distance for going that far, would they? It was still within sight of them. Time to investigate!

Bounding toward them, the little eevee stopped and peered through the grass, trying to identify what sort of pokemon these others were. Bingo! An Umbreon and - and an Eevee like her! She seemed to be about the same age, too! How funny!

Crouching in the grass, Distance noticed that the Umbreon seemed to be watching the Eevee baby very much like her own father watched over her. In that case, she figured he wasn't likely to be expecting anything to creep up on him...which was perfect. Creeping closer, she prepared to pounce on one of his - three? - silly-looking tails. Just a little closer...there...and POUNCE!

The pup's thoughts were all too evident as Tenebrae watched her behavior with a surreptitious stare. Were the attempting perpetrator much older, he would have been offended to be thought so little of. He waited, waited, waited, and suddenly stood to remove himself from the normal-type's range upon detecting her movement. He regarded the Eevee from over his shoulder with a prideful disposition, chiding her lightly for teasing her seniors. Rem, hearing her appointed guardian's voice, returned to the Umbreon and his company with all curiosity in her features.

"Eve!" Distance yipped at her failure in surprise, looking up from her landing to realize the Umbreon had been watching her. She gave him a sheepish look in response to the glance over his shoulder and took a step back, wondering if he would be angry at her.

In a moment, however, the other Eevee was by his side and Distance forgot her fear. She remained still and stared at her peer. Though she had known that her coloring hadn't been typical of other Eevee, this one looked almost the same as she did!

she said to both pokemon hesitantly, freezing in place.

"Distance!" a girl's voice called. "Distance, where did you go? I thought you were going to be close by! Oh." The trainer stopped shouting when she came upon the trio in the grass. "Hello, there. Where did you two come from?"

Fathom quickly hurried to his trainer's side, but he paused to appraise Tenebrae and Rem. He would have known one of his daughters anywhere, even if he hadn't seen her since she'd been an egg. Anyway, her likeness to Distance was remarkable.

Rem wagged her tail lightly and with a pleasant expression, giving her own name in response to their company's introduction; Tenebrae, pressured by his companion's expectant gaze, gave his as well. Unlike Distance, though, Rem didn't have the realization of how similar her and the other of her species were. The little Eevee had decided in her younger days to view all the world as homogenized - everyone was an Eevee, and all Eevee just looked differently depending on factors that she had yet to determine. It made things less of a hassle for her and for the guardian Umbreon who had suggested it in the first place to stop her from asking why he looked so different.

Said Umbreon raised his head in alert at the sound of an approaching human, and he regarded the recent arrival in thorough scrutiny for a time. At her question, he gestured to a ways over his shoulder, to the place where they had left their trainer. He couldn't imagine the child had gone very far.

Tymiko was a little surprised at the elegant Umbreon's indication, not really having expected to be directed toward the answer to her question. After glancing that way, though, she paused and did a sort of curtsy to the dark-type with an invisible skirt. Perhaps it was his 'tail coat' that made her think of such mannerisms. "Thank you, good sir," she told him, before heading in the direction of his trainer.

Meanwhile, Fathom came to stand beside Distance and introduced himself as well. He asked Tenebrae musingly how he enjoyed being guardian to the young Eevee beside him. To Rem, he simply winked.

It was nice to get a little recognition, Tenebrae thought idly, even if it was from a child who was just as likely to be playing around. A sigh - his hard work simply wasn't appreciated enough. Tenebrae sized up the Vaporeon briefly; it wasn't difficult to notice the similarities between himself and the two Eevee. Rem, tilting her head with ears raised in curiosity, didn't seem to pick up on any of the available hints. It was a bit tiring, Tenebrae replied with a shrug, but he supposed Fathom probably knew a bit about that himself.

Tymiko, following the Umbreon's general directions, would discover the sought trainer evidently asleep reclining on one of the benches away from the more communal area of the park, and she would likely recognize the face of the redheaded boy - though he had drawn up the hood of his jacket to conceal most of that hair.

Fathom did indeed know about the tiresome task of watching infants, and was empathetic towards Tenebrae. He seemed to be doing a fine job, though, and the Vaporeon wondered aloud if the dark-type had had any past experience. Was he, too, possibly a father? In the meantime, Distance circled Rem, admiring the others' colors and remarking, tickled, that the other young eevee had more of her father's traits than she herself did.

The water trainer blinked uncertainly and tilted her head in astonishment as she regarded the sleeping boy. She didn't really want to wake him, particularly with his hood drawn up as if to discourage others from approaching, but it had been a while since she'd last seen him and she was curious as to how he was.

Kneeling behind the bench, she rested her arms on its back and watched the young man's sleeping face. She wondered if he normally took naps in public or if he was simply tired that afternoon. Glancing back over her shoulder towards where she had come across his pokemon, she wondered what the boy would have done had they been stolen.

"Luke," she murmured softly, pondering how light a sleeper he was. What if it had not been his intention to fall asleep on the bench in the first place? Would she be doing him a favor if she woke him? "Luuuuuke~"

Tenebrae scoffed lightly, shaking his head to contradict the Vaporeon's wondering. Quite not, he elaborated, nor had he any plans to become one. He'd had quite his fill of watching over children just from being companion to his trainer, never mind the young Eevee appointed as his charge. Said young Eevee watched Distance as she moved, tilting her head in curiosity at her words. Having hatched from her egg in her trainer's care and been placed under the Umbreon's watchful eye from there, her comprehension of the other Eevee's appraisal was halting.

Luke was indeed a very light sleeper, due in part to the influence of the various medicines that were a part of his regimen. Green eyes fluttered open, leaving a slightly startled expression. He evidently had not expected to sleep.

With a hearty laugh, Fathom agreed that looking after children could make a pokemon feel decisive enough, but a pretty face was a whole other thing entirely. He himself still wasn't quite sure how he'd gotten himself mixed up with Luna in the first place, but he could never truly regret it.

Distance, none too concerned with the other eevee's understanding of her casual observation, was more interested in what her peer's name was and if she wanted to play tag. No matter her answer, she took the initiative by batting at the other's sparkling tail before ducking behind the Umbreon for shelter.

"LUKE!" Ty cried, throwing herself on him in an awkwardly-angled side-hug. "It's been forever! How are you?! Your pokemon showed me where you were."
