[3RP] Heart and Soul

Dove had again experienced another sleepless night, and as she arrived at the hospital the next morning (just she had the past few mornings), the effects were glaringly obvious.

Tugging her hair back into a ponytail over her shoulder, she made her way into the waiting room again, this time surprised to see Yuri sitting there alone. Her eyes low, she made her way over to him, sinking achingly slowly into a chair, grimacing at the way her body reacted to the motion.

Her eyes still low, she spoke quietly after a few minutes.

"Guess you did have plans last night, huh?"

A lot of help he had been, when she had woken up in terror, sweating and screaming, she thought to herself.

Yuri had been sitting there in silence for some hours now. The pull over had been wadded up and tossed aside to hide the blood stains. His damp clothes and hair had dried by now, but it was obvious that he had been wet at some point.

When Dove entered, black eyes lifted to look at her and he put on an apologetic smile. "Yeah, sorry about that."

There was a pause and then he spoke again.

"Good news though, Luke's gonna be okay."

She closed her eyes, hanging her head with a soft sigh, more from exhaustion than frustration. She barely had enough energy as it was without having to expend the energy to be upset with Yuri for ditching her.

Lifting her head again and shifting to curl into her chair as he spoke, she looked to him, brows furrowing at his appearance and demeanor. "It's fine, I guess..." she said, looking away again as she pulled her feet into the chair with her. "Sparky and Repede--"

At his next comment, her eyes widened and flew back to him, her body freezing. "They found a heart?" she asked, her voice hushed in disbelief.

"Yeah, he's just out of surgery," Yuri replied, pulling up a knee and draping an arm over it.

"Said that he's expected to make a full recovery." Despite the joy that should come with such a statement, Yuri was subdued. The man looked tired, he'd been up all night after all. He wore that same small smile, but it was a bit hollow.

Dove stared openly at the man, her heart thudding in her chest. "H-How? Does his family know? His father? Asch?"

He was going to be okay... He was going to be okay! With the news, her eyes filled, her lashes sweeping to her cheeks for a few long moments to stop the tears from overflowing over the exhausted smile that spread across her face.

Luke was going to be alright.

Rosie didn't look like she got much in the way of sleep either. utterly fatigued both emotionally, and physically.
She had not even paid attention to the time that passed as Pastin trotted her to the Hospital as easy as she could make it. The trainer was only aware that they had arived when Pastin stopped, and the Rapidash gave a gentle whinny to snap his Rosie back to her sense.

"Oh-"
Looking around sharply, she leaned forward to swing her leg around and slide off of Pastin's back.
He lowered his head to her, letting the blond wrap her arms around his neck in a tight embrace. he snorted, nuzzling her hair before pulling away, his eyes smiling sadly as she thanked him for the ride, and the support and returning him to his Love Ball.

She walked alone into the waiting room, her pokemon on her belt, the identifiable sign of a trainer. She looked up to see that she would not be waiting alone though, Seeing Yuri and Dove, rosie walked gently up to them. "Good morning you two... uh, has anything changed?"

Yuri paused for a moment before answering her earnest question. "Yeah, they know," he said quietly. He had met with Luke's dad earlier, the both of them having sat in this room together, up until Lord Fabre had been allowed to see his son.

When Rosie appeared though, he looked up again with another small smile. "Hey Rosie, Luke's gonna be fine. Got himself a brand new heart last night."

Dove paused again as Yuri spoke, her smile fading for a moment when she noticed the underlying tone in his voice. "Yuri, what's wrong?" she asked, wiping away a few tears before Rosie made her appearance.

She looked to the girl, listening as Yuri shared the news with her. "He's going to be okay, Rosie," she laughed weakly, offering a hand to the girl and a seat to sit in.

Her breath caught in her chest, and for a moment all she could do was stand there like a deer in the headlights.
Opening her mouth a couple of times, as if to say something, the only things she managed was a shaky gasp, and a few steps toward Dove's offered hand. taking it and sitting herself down before she fell over.

Yuri didn't respond to Dove, instead he just blinked at Rosie's reaction. "Whoa, hey now, don't go passing out on me too," he said as the girl stumbled over to Dove.

As soon as the girl was sitting, Dove lowered her feet back to the floor and turned to her, sparing Yuri a concerned glance when he didn't answer her, and catching the 'too' at the end of his comment to Rosie.

"Oh my gosh." she gasped, her voice overcome with relife. a smile spread over her face, though it seemed tired, and drained. "Oh thank goodness!"
she bounces a little in her seat, gripping Dove's hands shakily. "Ahhh nooo I told myself I was done crying, no no no." She was still smiling, clearly in a much more lively mood then she was before as she brushed at her eyes that were threatening to water up.

She let out a wet laugh, looking over to the other two. "Oh my gosh he's going to be okay!"

As Rosie took in the news, Yuri leaned back in his seat, glad to see that the girls were happy. As well they should be, Luke was going to make it. They didn't need to know about.. well.. the reason. At least not yet. He knew it would get out sooner or later that there had been a sacrifice for Luke's life. But for right now, he just let them be happy.

Dove's smile returned full force as Rosie came to the realization, and she pulled the girl into a hug, laughing over her shoulder as the tears fell. "Don't worry about the crying, they're tears of joy, not tears of fear, and it's all I've been praying for the past few days," she told her, hugging her tightly.

Hugging Dove back tightly, letting out a small excited squee.
She held onto the girl, rocking from side to side in a happy hug before she pulled away a little. "So is he awake yet? what have they told you any details?"
