[FIN] Bloodied Hands

Ever since he's conversation with Luke, Yuri had still be hanging around somewhat. He wasn't particularly needed or anything, but things were still pretty crazy and really he was worried about Luke. Considering nobody had any way to get ahold of him, Yuri still lingered near the hospital. Though he did wander off a few times to think and eat or whatever. Repede following him around in silence.

Now he sat outside the hospital entrance. Upon a bench next to a small garden. His arms stretched out across the back of the chair as he sighed and just stared up at the sky. Man, things had gotten bad in a hurry. The last few days almost seemed like a big blur. Nothing was going to be the same now, was it.

Well, that's just how life was. It was pretty crappy sometimes. He'd just keep rolling with the punches and move on. But it didn't seem like it would be that easy for everyone else, especially Luke. He could really use a stiff drink right about now.

Though a nurse did escort her from Luke's room back to the waiting room, the girl could find no will to stay in the hospital and instead found herself nearly jogging through the rest of the building to an exit and out into a courtyard of sorts, the tears still falling freshly down her face, a hand over her mouth as though she might be sick.

She sank to a bench, finally, wrapping her free arm around her stomach, her shoulders shaking violently and sobs racking her chest.

She had just read a suicide note. To the brother of the deceased. She had seen him leave the hospital in distress and had done nothing.

A suicide.

An assisted suicide.

Her eyes wrenched shut, she broke down, for the first time in her life not caring that someone might see. Everything hurt.

Yuri was still there, staring up at the clouds as they passed, when he heard the sounds of running and sobbing. Broken from his thoughts, the man turned his head to look behind him. Seeing a familiar girl nearby, Yuri sighed and rose from the bench.

He could only assume that word had gotten out. Although he wasnt sure why Dove would be this upset over it. Yeah it was sad but still... Had she even known Asch? Hopefully nothing was wrong with Luke.

A shadow would soon fall on the crying girl as Yuri came up to stand beside her wordlessly.

Her body hurt, her head hurt, her heart hurt. The more she tried to calm, the brighter the image of Luke's face played in her mind, only making things worse, flashes of Asch leaving the hospital and snapping at her, flashes of the letter, the information strewn throughout plaguing her thoughts.

Se shouldn't have read it to him. She should have let him come to it on his own, or better yet, with someone more worthy of trying to comfort him. Someone he knew better. Not her. Not her. She had only tried to help and made things a thousand times worse.

Moving her hand from her face and tucking her head low, she wrapped her arms tighter around herself, fighting the cold and the urge to fall apart. When a shadow fell over her, however, she lifted her head, freezing in new panic before immediately rising and stepping a few paces away, her eyes not leaving the man, her head shaking silently as she soundlessly grasped for words.

Yuri blinked once at her reaction to his presence. He hadn't quite expected that. Still, he looked at her with that unreadable expression of his, watching as words failed to come to her. She looked like she was terrified of him. Did she know?

"Tori..."

That's all that he could think to say. Yuri remained where he was unmoving. Keeping a respectful distance from her as that seemed to be what she wanted.

She kept her distance from him, shaking like a cornered kitten. Though she had known a confrontation with him would be inevitable--under her panic, of course-- she hadn't expected him to find her so soon. She shook her head as she backed away, her voice terrified and weak. "N-No...No!" Her hands flew to her head, a though to block the world from adding to her stress, and her body shook, her knees weak.

"No, no, no, no, no...!"

Yuri just continued to stand there, not doing anything. Despite the flat look on his face, this wasn't exactly a happy experience for him. But well, what could he do? He seriously considered just turning around and walking away. Cause really.. this was just a little ridiculous.

She covered her face when he made no move toward her, the tears still pouring as she forced down the grief, only to have pure anger replace it.

Lifting her head slowly from her hands, she narrowed her eyes at him. "That's where you were the other night. Helping this happen....!" she accused him harshly, not thinking a moment that the memory might be hard for him. "How could you? You...You're supposed to be the hero, Yuri!"

Yuri's features hardened slightly at the girl's accusatory words. However, he still didn't move from where he was standing.

"I didn't ask to be any kind of hero," he told her plainly. Slightly irritated that she would put him on such a pedestal.  

[Tori Honoo]

"Why bother saving Luke when you were just going to turn around and do this?" she demanded, taking a few steps closer to him. "How? Why?!"

Yuri lowered his head in a slightly exasperated sigh, a hand on his hip.

"I dunno what you're so upset about. Luke's gonna be okay. Isn't that enough?"  

[Tori Honoo]

"Going to be okay?!" she yelled stepping closer still. "You honestly think he's going up be okay?! I'll be surprised if they don't find him laying dead tomorrow, that heart ripped out of his chest by his own hands! How could you possibly expect him to accept the fact that his brother DIED so he could live?! A stranger was bad enough, but even then it could have been an accident, fate, ANYTHING. His own brother? His twin?!"

She drew herself in, turning her glare to the ground. "You weren't with him... Luke, he... I don't..."
His response had shaken her more soundly than anything.

"Geez, you're such a drama queen," Yuri muttered.

Her last words drew another frown though. Actually he -had- been with Luke. He'd been the one to tell him. But Yuri wasn't going to bother mentioning there. Did she really think he was that stupid?

"Look, I'm not apologizing for anything I did. And I sure as hell can't take it back."

She froze, her glare even more heated, her hand relexively going to her belt to Sparky's ball on instinct. "If this is drama, I'd hate to face real terror," she bit, inadvertently admitting her own fear.

Her fingers twitched into a fist beside her belt, her control nearly gone. "I'm not the one you need to apologize to, Yuri. You can try later if he survives this."

"I'm not apologizing to him or anyone else," Yuri said, and that was that.

He had no intention of telling Luke what he had done. That would only make things worse, and if Tori knew what was good for him, she wouldn't either.

Yuri had done what he felt was right, and he wasn't going to back down on that.
