Olivia had stared a good long while at the long list of possible courses to take part in. She had heard about a few of them in her daily routine of standing in one spot and observing the students around her; many had mentioned that expanded courses had been introduced. This brought the wight to the boards, staring in wonder at the plethora of activities she could take part in.
Ideally, she would have loved to have gone in a group like so many of the other classes she usually took part in but for the most part it looked like she was on her own when she decided on the one that involved running and lightning and rocky places. It seemed fun though, so Olivia ventured to the course with no worries on her mind.
Maybe she should text one of her friends to come join her, she wondered to herself, before realizing that there seemed to be someone else taking part. Were those wings? Oh, they were very pretty. Stare. OuO

Shaheen had eventually decided, after a lot of yelling and breaking things, to play along with the bogeymen's ridiculous notion that the horsemen should attend school. But she was still a grown woman, and a mighty chieftain of war! Not some overgrown, lowly, pathetic student. She would go to classes, but it would be on her terms, and she would decide what was actually worth her time. Running up a hill and dodging lightening sounded promising enough. And so she stood in front of said hill, head slightly cocked to the side, wings folded in neatly behind her. It might have taken her a little time to convince herself to go out in the open, and she might have adorned her cloak to hide most of her marks of insanity, but she was there, and that's what mattered. Of course, she still felt like she was constantly being stared at, and still tried her damndest to just ignore the feeling. Except this time was worse then ever, a niggling feeling in the pit of her stomach, an itching sensation that burned in the very center of her back where she couldn't quite reach it, an impulse to look over her shoulder too strong to deny. She made a quick glance, and jumped when she saw the young girl student staring directly at her, having gotten used to not seeing anything when her paranoia got the better of her. "By the gods." She growled, her initial shock quickly switching to anger, and she scowled at the pale girl. "What are you staring at?" Stupid questions 101.

Oh, she had been noticed! That wasn't anything new, nor such a reaction. There was always a range from good to horrible and Olivia took it all the same, her smile spreading actually as words were directed towards her. "You." Simple enough, "your wings are pretty," she told the horseman (even though she didn't know yet that she really was). Compliments could probably go on really, since this was probably their first encounter (was it?) or at least their first exchange of words.
But, there was a little something going on at hand. "Are you trying the lightning and the running too?" Perhaps she wouldn't need to go alone in this after all; even if Shaheen preferred going it solo, well the ghoul was actually probably going to follow her anyways.

Shaheen spent a grand total of five seconds bristling at the girls first answer, which quickly faded to surprise when she was given a compliment to her pride and joy; her wings. It was as though they responded with a mind of their own, opening up behind her and flaring out just slightly, as though they wished to show off yet more. The war chieftain herself found her lips quirking up, slightly amused now that her initial irritation had completely withered away. "Of course they are. I am of war, and our wings have always been the most impressive of all." No modesty here. None at all. At the girls question, Shaheen had a quick glance over her shoulder back towards the steep incline and it's flashes of light followed by booming thunder. "I had given it a thought." She responded, turning back to the girl and giving her a once over, eyes traveling up and down her form as though weighing her worth. "And what of you? Do you take a chance this day and risk travelling upward the hazardous incline?" Her lips twitched up yet more, but not in a smile, but a smirk. Her tone of voice would suggest that she didn't believe that the girl even stood a chance. chirigami wow hi I totally forgot about this for some reason ;; LETS DO THIS THING

There was some obvious agitation coming from her new found friend, but it soon seemed to disappear as quickly as those wings had snapped out in full beautiful glory. There was a somewhat twinkle of awe in her eyes as Olivia looked upon them, an excited sigh along with it. "Pretty." Because obviously she thought so, and she got such a better view now.
Staring at them and hearing Shaheen, the glow and joy didn't seem to vanish even though it took her a moment to really comprehend what she was being told. It was like the gears turning could be seen as she made the connections of the statement to what she already knew. "Oh, you're a horseman?" Prepare for more fawning, "I only got to see a little bit of the War Island but it was very nice looking." Thankfully she had now dropped the usual suffix of that statement which implied the doom that befell upon it.
Olivia followed the other ghoul's line of sight, still all happy smiles as the lightning struck in the distance. "I thought it would be fun," she replied innocently enough. She couldn't really remember much about encountering such an element before, there was most likely at least some point but nothing easily surfaced.
"We should get going," she urged, upbeat even with the hazards. Olivia gave an affirmative nod to the clansman, indicating her leave and hoping the other would follow as she leapt forward into the course. Her soft boots hit the ground with a little bit of a bounce and she was ready the bound forward when she felt a really odd tingling sensation suddenly travel through her body, complete with a bright blinding white that took over her line of vision.
"Aa...." Was this what being struck by lightning felt like? She was nearly frozen in place, and perhaps a little fizzle of smoke was coming off the top of her head from a few burnt strands of hair.

Shaheen would bask in any attention to do with her wings, practically preening when the girl continued to look at them with a hint of awe in her large stare. Just pretty though? Not beautiful? She might have sighed a little at that. It would just have to do, she supposed. When the girl continued to speak, telling of a time when she had been to the island of war, Shaheen felt a knot begin to form deep within her belly. Her home. Flashes of memory of jungle forests, of the ocean beating against the cliffs, of houses and buildings set high up in the tree tops.... Of the explosion that tore it asunder. Of the grey phoenix that had tried to swallow Shaheen into it's insanity ridden depths. Her Wings had folded back down, her cocky smirk having vanished completely. "It was my home." She stated, a hint of sadness, of longing in her voice now as she gazed upon the road filled with lightening. Now there were whispers in her head that sometimes tried to take her to a new home, one she had no interest in. She shook it off, ready to throw herself into this challenge. She regarded the girl with a little more appraisal now, admiring her at least a small bit for her bravery as she darted towards the course and began. Shaheen was quick to follow, not wanting to be shown up by some mere student. The war chieftain launched herself onto the path with a quick beat of her wings and then was off, running up the steady incline with a look of shear determination on her face. Out of the corner of her eye, she thought that she saw the girl get struck, but she could not waste any time in helping her now, or she ran the risk of getting hit by the lightening herself. Thunder boomed overhead and flashes of light that crackled with electricity lancing down to either side, but she miraculously managed to avoid being struck. Round: 1/5 HP: 50/50

Her fingers were twitching slightly as she regained her senses from the odd sensation that befell her from getting struck by lightning. Olivia blinked a few times before shaking her head, getting the spots to vanish from her eyes to briefly turn to where the War Clansman had gone. Or where she had remained for that brief moment until Shaheen joined her on the road, avoiding getting hit (unlike herself). But, the wight had heard that the sad response even if she couldn't see the defeated manner in which it was said. Her own reply delayed, because well... lightning and all.
Her next step managed to come without getting struck, even as she spun on her heels to watch where Shaheen had bounded off to and followed her a bit along a similar path (she had avoided getting struck after all, maybe she knew where to go). "Amarus mentioned there were many trees, I saw a few of them when we were going between portals. And... races?" She went on to the other female (unsure about her second statement really), "Did you live in them? I was mostly on Conquest and Death. Death was very hot. Conquest had a very odd room."
