[FIN] Kanto Competition

(This RP is getting started a little early, due to the fact that if I don't do it this week, then it won't be able to get started until July! Aaaand I'm not waiting that long.

This is an RP for Trainers! Feel free to have your trainer enter the competition, or just be there to watch and have a good time in the city.
you can bring your Rocket, but please keep in mind that there is no active interest in this competition from HQ. So they would literally just have to take their own time off to travel all the way to Kanto to watch some smaller scale pokemon competition <3)

Vermillion City, The port city, was bustling with activity as boats packed full of trainers and spectators pulled into the docks to unload their passengers.
People from many different regions having heard news about the relatively small League funded pokemon battle competition come to show their stuff.

It was out of season for the large championship that the League usually held, Those tend to draw a much larger number of people since the steaks were higher, and the talent was much more refined.
Where as in contests like that you were required to have a complete set of Badges for whatever region you were competing for, these smaller battle events did not require even a single badge, only a league registration and a trainer willing to battle!

The whole city seemed to be prepared for this, headed by the city's Gym leader Lt. Surge. Thus the entire city seemed to be open to hosting the visiting trainers.
The stadium was set up in the expanding fields to the corner of the city, Battles would take place over the next couple of days, while evenings were open for socializing, praying or relaxing, all depending on the persons personal preference.

Rayan placed her hand on one of the stations set up inside the stadium, grinning broadly at the women standing by it.
"This is a registration pick up for Seraphine von Renata." The tall women spoke,

As the women typed in the name information Ray straightened back up, knowing that she would be asking for the girl's pokedex her mossy eyes searched for the reluctant girl that was... somewhere behind her.
"Get your pokedex out, and the pokemon you're using."
It was the only time that Ray had given the pokeballs back since taking them from her. She would actually need them for this competition.

Other trainers were all around this aria, mingling in line or picking up throw own registration, Ahhh Ray missed this kind of atmosphere, probably the one thing she could actually regret about not being in the League anymore.

While Sera was always reluctant to follow Ray or do anything she said, she at least knew quite well that here would be much different. Thus, as Ray turned to her, the brunette stepped up and produced her pokedex and three pokeballs instead of two - Isabella, Jacques, and her most recent acquisition, Agatha. Idly she glanced around for Rosie and Luke, wondering if they were still nearby or not. Even if she didn't mind being with just Ray, the tall woman still bothered her to hell and back and she'd had quite enough of her over the past weeks of training. She much preferred to be able to spend time with her best friends too.

For a certain purple-haired trainer the boat ride to Vermillion had been "Awesome!".
The ability to battle, on board the boat she'd boarded (she forgot the same 'SS' something and then some vegetable, she thought but who cared about that?!), with other trainers had really made the ride itself a lot of fun.

Henrietta had even won one battle! Out of... a lot more than one, true, but that win was clearly the 'standard', it was surely just poor luck the other however many times...

She, Gummy, and Winglet clinging to her shoulder, hurried along the corridor to get to the deck, avoiding a very seasick looking man in a uniform, intent on watching their boat pull into port from as near the front as they could get.

"Oh man! Come on you two! This gonna be so awesome! I can't believe how long it's taken to get here!" The impatient trainer, who actually hadn't noticed any length of time until this point, so rapt in the fun of the journey she'd been, complained, as the three of them burst out of a door and pushed along toward the railings.
Kanto might have been very close to Johto- even linked by the Magnet Line- and yet Henrietta had never been able, or allowed, to come to this city before.
"Look, look! Oh, this is awesome! We're so gonna win here!"

A young blond trainer standing at the railing looked over as a much younger girl with purple hair came up to the railing next to her.
There was a small smile and a light hearted giggle toward the girls enthusiasm.
"Are you going to be competing then?"

It was not hard to tell that this women was a trainer as well, mostly due to the fact that her outfit was gear were styled for League trainer, though she was very pink, from the fingerless gloves on her hands, the half skirt draping from her hips to the riding style boots on over her calf
The dead giveaway though would probably be the heart cheeked Raichu who was perched along the girls shoulder,
Round blue eyes blinking at the smaller trainer, and her pokemon.

As Sera stepped up and give the women her Dex and balls Ray took a step back, letting the brunette take over from there.

It took a moment for the women to gather the information she needed on the trainer, but before too long the women looked up at Sera.
"Alright, everything is all here and checks out. Here if your dex and pokemon back," she placed them on the counter, then continued to gather a few items from a pile
"Here is the map of the city, if you are not familiar with it already, but it will have information about the events going on outside the competition, as well as special discounts and benefits for competing trainers, when you are competing you will also want to keep this wrist band on you at all times." She told the girl,
"You are frooomm... oh Kodo." She perked up "Starting to see those more and more. that means you get a green one." She reached out, hanging the girl a neon green plastic bracelet with a black "17" on it, that she snapped into place on the girl's wrist."Preliminary rounds will begin later this evening. Good luck~"

She made a gesture to the exit of the line with a kind smile.

"You bet! Gummy and Winglet and I are gonna win this!" Henrietta grinned at the girl who addressed her, turning from the view to, at least, see who was speaking.
"Have you come to compete too?" She looked from girl to Raichu. A strategist, Henrietta really wasn't and so nothing in her head linked electric type as her own team's main weakness; instead her eyes lit up even more, if it were possible. Though, it was unlikely something she'd have cared much about even if she had realised such a thought.

"Awesome! A Raichu! I've met Pikachus before, and a couple of Pichus too but I've only ever met a Raichu in the flesh once before now! Hi! I'm Henrietta and that's Winglet," she pointed to the bat on her own shoulder "and that's Gummy!" She pointed toward her water type.

Gummy peered up... into the sky. Looking right past the girl and her Raichu at... Well, it could have been a cloud, a flying type, or more likely nothing at all. His eyes blinked, out of sync, as usual.

Winglet was far more engaging, wriggling forward and wriggling her snout at the pair, 'looking' them over with her echolocation; her ears twitching.

Once the woman was finished, Sera took back her 'dex and balls and put them all away, clipping the balls to her belt. As she stepped aside, she gave the bracelet around her wrist a dubious look. Well, at least it was green, but still...

Regardless, she moved to rejoin Ray who was near Luke now, and since Sera much preferred the company of one of her best friends over that of Ray, the brunette looked to him and gestured to the band on his wrist too, "So when did you decide to join this thing too?" She'd never heard him really speak of it, unlike Ray who had been prepping her for it for a while now.

There was certainly no getting past the confidence of this trainer, It was very uplifting to see.
"Thats a great attitude to have when you go into a battle," she agreed nodding "I will be competing too," She confirmed with a smile.

Kiss Kiss' eyes lip up when she was talked about, smiling bashfully and putting a paw to her cheek. Rosie looked over at Kiss pleasantly
"Her name is Kiss Kiss, and I'm Rosie." The trainer held her hand out.
"Its nice to meet you, Henrietta, Winglet, Gummy."
Rosie smiled at each in turn, Kiss Kiss too held a paw up to wave at the other two. and oh my gosh those two pokemon were SO cute.

While the area was quickly filling with trainers ready to compete, another girl stood, not too far from Rosie, watching the people and Pokemon around her, an Eevee in her arms. She wouldn't be competing, though she had learned a lot in the past few weeks--with Rosie's help of course. For this round of competition, she would simply watch and enjoy the atmosphere, and cheer on her friend.

Though she had seen a few other familiar faces, the girl had yet to approach, less hesitant than before, but still worried that if she tried to hard again, she would only be hit with harsh recoil. It was nice to see them, though; they looked like they were doing well, and as it stood, that was all she could have asked for. Maybe after their time apart, she would be able to start over, but right this moment, with the spirit of competition and the tension of preparations in the air didnt seem to be the best time.

When another, younger face appeared next to Rosie, however, Dove smiled brightly, and moved toward the two to join them, waiting for a polite moment to greet them. "You guys ready?" she asked in happy tones offering a small wave to the youngest of the girls. Lovey offered a greeting of her own, a soft bark to the girls and their Pokemon.

Luke looked to the band as well as Seraphine indicated it and shrugged lightly, "I'd been considering it for a while. Figured it wouldn't do any harm even if I don't do well, so…" It had also been really difficult to in good faith come as an observer after facing Rosie's enthusiasm and encouragement.

"Yeah," Sera said, looking to the band on her own wrist before looking back up at Luke, "it'd probably be good for you and stuff, since you used to train before." Didn't he used to train a lot before? Vaguely she recalled his offer to help her train before, though she hadn't really taken advantage of it. That was back when Anastasia had just been stolen, and she hadn't exactly wanted to do much of anything back then. Thinking of the Umbreon only saddened her, though - especially given her mother had recently gotten Jasmine back - so she pushed it out of her mind for the time being.

"Of course its good for you!" Ray agreed, "this is the kind of experience that is just good all around, Both of you, do your best and kick everyone's a**!"
It was a little bit obvious that Ray was more excited about this than the other two probably were.

Standing near Ray and Luke was Yuri, Repede at his heels as always. The dark haired man simply chilling with a cup of ice cream he'd procured from somewhere. Content to eat it as the others talked about training and battling while he gazed off in a random direction.

He wasn't a registered trainer, and had no interest in competing anyway, so he would probably be hanging out with Ray and watching the others. But the idea of seeing yet another new place had been what interested Yuri, and following his friends around was not really a bad thing either.

"Well, look who's here, Fathom," a water-trainer told the pokemon at her heels upon noticing the group of familiar Kodo trainers. She hadn't gotten to interact with them much during the last spring festival in Kodo, but perhaps that had been for the best; they'd appeared to be quite busy among themselves.

Smiling absently, she went to walk up to Yuri, Ray, Sera, and Luke and waved in greeting. "Hello! Are you all here to join the competition?" She reached for Yuri's ice cream as she spoke, not even bothering to look at his face as she addressed the group as a whole.
