Luke's cardiologist had almost seemed personally offended by the amount of physical exertion his condition implied, even more so by the explanation he gave. She had recommended light activity, she reminded, not taking some grand walking expedition all over the whole damned island. She could only complain so much, though, since the results of his examination were overwhelmingly favorable. It was always good to see a patient recover from a major surgery without complication, even if he did proceed to disregard her sound medical advice.

The day had worn on into the early onset of the evening during the course of the appointment, streetlights blinking to life to carry the burden the sun left behind as it sank below the horizon. It was around this time that Rosie would receive a brief message: "de retour dans Camphoreon"
PostPosted: Tue May 21, 2013 10:02 pm
Rosie had been at home when she got the text, having finished a day of training and was in the middle of packing for the competition that she would be leaving to in the morning.
ticking away at her laptop, once again on the League forums discussing the competition when her Gear made the announcement that she had just gotten a message.
blue eyes slid over to it before she plucked it up and pulled open the text.

It was in french~ Oh yay.

That would bring her to the translator.
"Back in Camphoreon."

Rosie sat up straight in her seat, and replied
"Welcome back! Do you wanna hang out tonight?"

Well yeah, of course he did. "sure."

Yay! Okay now she had to pause and think of where to meet him. She knew he was probably walking all day, so going for a walk might be no good.
She already ate dinner but maybe he was hungry. She supposed she could pick somewhere that had places close by in case he did want to eat.

"Are you by the beach? We can meet by the pier."

By the pier… Reflexively he glanced up at his surroundings to place himself, though he was already far past the days of needing to do much thinking to determine how far he was from just about any familiar destination. "sure, je ne suis pas trop loin. 10 minutes." The notification for a message successfully sent illuminated the screen briefly before he pocketed the device and started towards the appropriate destination.

She used to live much closer to the beach, but her Uncle lived a bit more inland by the city still.
When she got the message the only thing she could read on it was "10 Minutes" and considered just taking that. buuut she should really translate the rest.
Hm, maybe she should try and learn a little french, would make this much faster, not that she minded this way anyway. Learning some french would just be neat.

She knew Luke was likely going to be there before her. She had to change really quick into something better for going outside, not some lounging pants she threw on when she got home.

Perdy made the trip quickly enough, dipping down once the beach was in sight, wings spreading wide as he found a place to land on one of the railings, and plotting down with his back flat so the girl on him wouldn't to tumbling off.

He really liked this ocean, he thought upon arriving at the pier and watching the sun's remaining light die on the water. Not every encounter with the sea had been entirely pleasant, but he had never really felt personally wronged by it or anything. It was generally a refreshing sight to behold, the steady ebb and flow of the waves relaxing, the salted breeze familiar.

Luke's attention was drawn from the shore by the sound of beating wings, and his eyes raised to watch the large, easily recognizable form of the Pidgeot and its rider. He advanced towards the pair, lingering at a short distance in obvious hesitation before raising a hand in an offer to help her dismount. He wore in his expression an immense warmth.

His warm expression was met with a bright smile, reaching out to take his offered hand as she slid down onto the wooden fencing around the pier, allowing Perdy to shake himself out and straighten up, folding his wings at his sides while watching as his young pink trainer stepped from the railing down to the deck.
With her hand still in his, bringing her close enough when she hopped down to follow through with a single skip forward and ending in a tight embrace.
"Welcome back!"
She greeted him softly, though her smile.

Luke expressed no qualms against returning the embrace in full, overtaken in his entirety by her presence. He gathered enough thoughts to give a simple reply - "Thanks." - and discarded any other mental processes as superfluous.

Was it socially acceptable to just…

…not let go…

…possibly ever.

Eventually he summoned the will to recognize that he was dangerously close to entering the waters of 'difficult to explain why this hug is still happening,' and he gently extricated himself from her arms, a hand lingering stubbornly with hers. "How have things been around here?" he asked, the curiosity idle but present.

She could only hug him tighter when she felt him return the hug, openly expressing her excitement at seeing him again.
Has he not straightened back up and leg go she wasn't sure when she might have let go.
Stepping back, and looking at him when he asked her how things were.

"Good! Busy and challenging this last month for the whole Trainer community in the aria, but its been good." She nodded. and smiled. "how was the rest of Kodo?"

Busy and challenging sounded a bit troublesome, but Luke was certain that if anyone could handle it, Rosie could. He knew how seriously she took her work with the League as well as how much she enjoyed it. "It was interesting," he replied. "There were a lot of places I'd never seen, like Sagestone or Jinko. It's nice to be back, though, even if just for a little while before going over to Kanto." Of course that would be interesting as well; the feeling of discovery that came from going someplace new was one he distinctly avoided taking for granted.
PostPosted: Wed May 22, 2013 5:22 pm
"I don't think I've been to Sagestone before myself." Rosie admitted, "Jinko is nice though, they have wonderful museums."
At the mention of Kanto Rosie grinned excitedly "Well, it is only for a weekend. Oh, but are you and Yuri going to be heading back out when you get back from the compaction?"
It wouldn't surprise her, if they had not finished traveling around the island, but she was finding herself really hoping they wouldn't.

He nodded in agreement with her appraisal of Jinko. Luke wasn't terribly interested in museum collections as a general rule, but the architecture of everything had been impressive.

There was a short, thoughtful hum before he shook his head, "I don't think so. We pretty much made a full circuit around the island." He also rather liked the idea of staying in Camphoreon.
PostPosted: Wed May 22, 2013 6:16 pm
Wow, all around Kodo, she had never taken a journey like that around her home island, Though she didn't know very many who did.
She parked up when he said they would probably be staying in Camphoreon, swinging his hand a little.
"I'm glad to hear that, It'll be great having you around more." She burst. "I've missed having you and Sera around, though I've been spending a lot of time with Dove, training, and sometimes with Yuri's friend. Its been nice getting to know them a little more."

He watched her, eyes bright despite a quiet disposition. "Flynn, right?" he pulled the name from his memories. "I take it he's not as much as a crazy sword-swinging psychopath as he came off as before?" An exaggeration, perhaps, but come on, what kind of a way to greet someone was that?
