Things had been much better in the past few weeks, and as the girl walked along the sidewalk with Lovey at her side, she kept her head high, a much more positive glow in her eyes. Time and her starting to train with Rosie had given her both purpose and what had begun to feel like better footing in the region, a start of a recovery from the mistakes she had made and shock from the tragedies that had taken place. Though she didn't quite have her full confidence back, Dove was finally starting to figure things out... at least a little. In fact, in the immediate moment, her only challenge was where to stop for lunch.

Shifting her hold on her bag and untucking her long hair from under the strap, the girl stepped to the side, out of the way of a cluster of people as they came from the opposite direction, making sure Lovey was close against her legs as they walked to give the others room when they would eventually pass. As she smoothed the flowing tank top-- as it had gotten tugged out of sorts when she shifted her bag-- she offered an amiable smile to the men as they approached, but a familiar face caught her attention, and she offered a simple wave and a slightly brighter smile as she tucked her hair back from her face, not wanting to distract him too much from the others if he noticed her, in case he was active in the men's conversation around him.

All the men that were passing were in interesting looking uniforms, blue ones with rather fancy designs. However, one of them looked a bit different, probably because he was of a higher rank. That particular man, a blonde, stopped and blinked as he caught sight of someone familiar, a polite smile coming to his face.

"Miss Dove, it's good to see you."

When Flynn stopped, the other fellows did as well. Several of them looking at her and then exchanging glances with each other. Well this was certainly an interesting development.

Though surprised and delighted that he had stopped to offer a proper hello, Dove was even more surprised as the rest of the group with him stopped as well, though she added another small wave to them in greeting before she spoke to Flynn, this time with a blush across her cheeks. "It's good to see you! You look well," she commented, then glanced to his companions. They all matched, aside from Flynn, which struck her as a bit strange, but she had to assume they all worked together, as some part of Grande Ile's military. She gave the glances little thought, and continued, "You all look well, actually. Are you guys enjoying the day?" she asked, turning her attention back to the familiar blonde. It was certainly nice out, even with the sun peeking in and out of clouds all morning.

"We're going to lunch," one man answered.

"If you know the Captain you're welcome to come with us," said another with a grin.

"Yes, certainly. We would be happy to have your company," Flynn piped in, not noticing when one soldier elbowed another.

Though her attention was initially pulled three separate ways, it was welcome attention, even as she watched the few elbowing each other. Lucky her, running into a group of soldiers, she mused silently.

She smiled. "We were actually just trying to figure out where we were going to stop for lunch," she told them, her cheeks thoroughly pink. She tucked her hair back again, and looked to Lovey as she pawed her leg, then bent carefully to scoop her up. "Are you sure though? We wouldn't want to impose on guy time, "she giggled.

"Not at all, we would be happy if you joined us," Flynn replied, and was joined by a chorus of nods, "yeahs", and other affirmative words and sounds. Although the guys were clearly up to something. To which Flynn was oblivious to.

"We were going to a cafe just down the street," Flynn continued before he started leading the way.

She bit back another brilliant smile, then nodded. "That sounds great," she replied, following after Flynn and joining the group as their captain lead on.

Lovey turned in Dove's arms and set her head on the girl's shoulder, watching the other men curiously.

As they walked and got closer to the cafe, one of the men cleared his throat and spoke up.

"Actually Captain, I just remembered I had something I needed to take care of first. If you would excuse me."

Flynn turned and blinked at the man who had spoken up, then waved at him dismissively. "Of course." Not a big deal.

"That's right, I just remembered I needed to run an errand during our lunch break..." another said, also breaking off from the group to head elsewhere. ... Okay.

She continued to walk along with the group, but blinked as the man dismissed himself, but more importantly, called Flynn 'Captain'. Well. Come to think of it, they had called him that before they had asked her to lunch with them. She supposed it made sense. The title suited him.

It seemed now, however, that she wouldn't be having lunch with them, at least, not the full group...however, she didn't complain. The men had things to do, she certainly wasn't captain, and it had been kind of them to invite her. It was a bit odd, though, that they just now seemed to be remembering.

What was more odd is that by the time they got to the cafe and found a table, all the other guys had found excuses to suddenly leave. Leaving Flynn rather puzzled and somewhat embarrassed that his entire brigade had disappeared.

Now it was just him and Dove sitting at a table alone.

Little did they know that the rest of the guys were sitting in a booth on the other end of the restaurant, occasionally peering curiously in their direction. Flynn conveniently seated with his back to them.

Dove was a smart girl, and though she hadnt pinpointed their exact motives just yet, she quickly realized that the excuses the men were giving, and more importantly, their absence, was part of a plan. It was far too convenient for them to all to have pressing needs, especially after they had asked her to join them, and she still didnt quite understand the meaning behind all the jabs and playfull elbowing when they had first talked.

Nonethess, she seated herself with grace and a smile to Flynn, noticing his embarrassment and the mutual confusion between them. "You certainly have a busy group, Flynn..." she laughed softly, before looking around the restaurant to see if it was Pokemon friendly. They hadnt asked her to put Lovey away, but she didnt want to be rude.

However, as her eyes scanned the room, she noticed not only a few lPokemon seated with their trainers, but also a few flashes of white and blue uniforms.

...huh. Well, that was interesting. Perhaps it was another group, one different from Flynn's group.... But she doubted it.

She chose not to say anything, however, and instead turned her attention to Flynn, despite a growing feeling of dejavu that made her cheeks warm.

"So I do," Flynn agreed, frowning lightly as he wondered exactly what was going on with his fellow soldiers. The more he thought about it, the more suspicious it was. They were certainly up to something, though he wasn't entirely sure what. Clearly they had intended to get the two of them, Dove and himself, alone.

"I apologize, they're usually not this rude." The man raising his voice a bit towards the end there. As if knowing that the soldiers were still in the area.

There was no response though.

She shook her head and pulled her shoulders up in a small shrug. "It's okay," she told him with a small smile. "I'm sure if they all really did have things to do, now would be the time to do it...Such a shame, though. This place has great food." No need to worry about his men, or their motives. She glanced again in the direction she had seen the colors, then sighed a little, realizing they--whoever it had been-- had scooted out of her range of sight for now.

She tucked her hair back again, then glanced over to Lovey before searching the menu and smiling at Flynn again over the top of it. "In any case, I'm not offended in the slightest. I'm sure they'll catch up, eventually." If they hadn't already.

She was sure now, though, that if they were the men sitting in the booth across the restaurant, that they weren't trying to surprise him for his birthday or something... At least not using her.

Flynn sighed a little but mustered a bit of an exasperated smile. Cause well.. maybe -he- was offended. He saw what they were doing, leaving him alone with a pretty girl on purpose. Those scoundrels would have to answer to him later. Because it was a well known fact that Flynn was a bit of a workaholic and didn't actually have a girlfriend. They teased him about it on occasion. Saying he needed a girl or needed to get laid or something.

"Well.. I haven't been here before. Do you have any suggestions?" the man asked as he picked up a menu to take a look.

Her smile turned a little apologetic in response to his, and she looked down again toward her menu. "I usually stick to their sandwiches...the dip is my favourite, but they sell really good burgers as well... " In fact, the menu had a full column of specialty burger listings.

She turned her attention then to the waiter that approached and agreed with her statement before asking what they would like to drink.

The thoughts in his head were his own, but had Dove known, she could only have related. Though not a workaholic, and not desperate at the time for a man, her friends had done something incredibly similar.

However, even with his thoughts unspoken, the sense of Dejavu still remained.
