Fredrich WaltzToday was a bad day at the police department. Why? Because they had arrested someone very important to one of the well known detectives, and they were all paying the price for it. SLAM! Gloved hands slammed onto a desk, and the person that owned those hands was none other than Detective Fredrich Waltz, the one giving everyone hell. " What the hell is wrong with you!?" he snarled at the officer seated at the shaken desk, a middle-aged man that didn't seem too upset like the other officers facing Fredrich's wrath, but he wasn't exactly pleased either. " Murder?! Are you out of your damn minds!? Ethan would never do anything like that! Get him out of that cell this instant!" the black clad man yelled and slammed his hands onto the desk once more. Meanwhile, Ethan sat at his solitary cell's bench, his head tilted back to hit the wall and his eyes closed. This was just an awful mess. He was accused of murder and arrested late last night, and he would've been stuck under the mercy of a vicious criminal had it not been for Fredrich - Speaking of which, he can hear Fredrich's yelling from all the way here. Once Fredrich had heard the news, he stormed into the area and yelled profanities at everyone until they moved him to his own cell. Although it was nice, he felt lonelier than ever in this cell. It was one of those giant cells usually for DUIs and temporary things, and with him all alone in it... Ugh. With a groan Ethan pulled his knees to his chest and wrapped his arms around them. This was officially the worst day of his life.

Feeling guilty, Ethan closed his eyes and let his head thunk against the bars. " I'm sorry, Lock." he whispered. " I keep putting you through all this crap. That scene I made didn't help..." Fredrich felt a pang of jealousy when he saw the two, wishing his words and his touch would comfort Ethan like that. But that didn't matter. He was in trouble and it was up to Fredrich to save him, even if it meant having to stick with the wannabe detective. " We need to hurry, Han." he seethed quietly. Glancing over to the detective leaned against the wall, Ethan quickly looked over at Lock and gripped his hands tightly. " Wait, before you go." He paused and glanced down for a moment before looking up. " Lock... While I was at my brother's last night, he put the phone on speaker." His expression, though downcast, softened considerably. " I heard everything you said." Again, he closed his eyes. " I'm so sorry, Lock. Sometimes it's as if I'm PMSing, I swear."

✻ ✺ ✹ ✴ʆ ock ҥan✸ ✷ ✶ ✵He rolled his eyes a the detective. "In a minute, Waltz." Setting a finger beneath Ethan's chin and tilting his gaze up, Lock smiled softly at the man he loved. "Hey, it's okay," he whispered, leaning forward to press his lips to Ethan's forehead through the bars. "Don't worry about it, okay? This time next week, we'll be in Japan, having the time of our lives, laughing about the past... Hey, look at me." Lock smiled as comfortingly as he could. "Everything's going to be alright, I promise. Just hang tight while we talk this out and settle bailing you out. I love you, Ethan."

Feeling the lips on his forehead and seeing the smile, Ethan attempted his own. " Okay." he said quietly with a small nod. " I... love you, too." Meanwhile, Fredrich had returned to the desk the older officer was seated in. Both were the same as when Lock arrived, Fredrich yelling and the officer barely acknowledging him. " He can't be a killer! It's just... It's not like him!" " So?" the officer grunted and flickered his piercing gaze towards the black clad detective that flinched quickly. " Most killers are usually the innocent type. Besides, all the evidence points to him."

✻ ✺ ✹ ✴ʆ ock ҥan✸ ✷ ✶ ✵Pulling Ethan just a bit closer to the rails, Lock pressed his lips to the incarcerated male, pulling away after a moment and sighing deeply. "I'll come back and visit you later after we collect evidence. Hang tight, darling. Everything will be alright." With one last swift kiss, Lock released his hold on Ethan and stepped away, turning his back to him and walking out to Waltz, trying his damnedest to hold back tears. Approaching the cop, he growled and stood beside Fredrich. "What evidence is there?" he demanded, crossing his arms at the older man. "Come on, you owe me enough to tell me. I've solved sixteen cases for you in the five months, nine of which were going cold and humiliating you. I fought two notorious killers and managed to walk away, saving dozens of lives before you even knew the names of the victims, and all without going to the news people and detailing the incompetence of the police work. I've earned a damn explanation!"

The officer flickered his gaze towards Lock, showing the same lack of interest as he did with Fredrich. "Quiet. All you needed to do was ask, I didn't need to hear your backstory." The chair he was seated at swiveled until he was facing them. With a better look, the officer was slumped in his chair with his hands in his pockets, and a rugged look on his face. "The victim's name is Chester Miles. Cause of death, loss of blood caused by multiple gashes over his body. The murder weapon wasn't found, but the gashes show that it was a type of blade that did him in. Time of death was around ten-thirty last night. The last person he met was Ethan Wilhelm." "That alone doesn't prove that he is the murderer!" Fredrich argued. "You're right, it doesn't." grunted the officer. "So if you'll let me finish..." He shot a glare at Fredrich before recomposing himself. "According to Ethan's records, he has a type of curse. A monster follows him and attacks whoever he comes in contact with." "That's not true." Fredrich interrupted. "Yes, he is stalked by a creature of misfortune, but it doesn't attack all the time. It spreads bad luck, and even then the bad luck is not enough to create murder! It corresponds with the mood Ethan's in when he makes contact with someone." The officer looked at Fredrich and gave him an amused look. "Interesting. You just proved he did it, then." Fredrich leaned back, aghast. "What-?" "The monster attacks the angrier Wilhelm is, right?" the officer clarified. "It just so happens that we were given quite a few eye witness testimonies that Ethan, the last person Chester saw that day, shoved him before leaving. We even found his fingerprints on the kid's body." He leaned forward in his desk. "So it seems to me that Wilhelm got mad, and the kid was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. He sees Wilhelm and gets sliced to death by the creature following him. Sounds about right to me." "But that was the shadow monster, not Ethan!" Fredrich yelled and slammed his hands on the desk, eyes burning with determination, and maybe even worry. "He had no control over the beast! It's not his fault-" "Like hell it is!" the officer yelled back, his voice booming so loud that even Fredrich stopped. "It's his beast, his responsibility! Even our eye witnesses claim to have been pushed by him when he tried to get away, and they alive and well! And even if it was an accident he would still be labeled a murderer!" Fredrich froze, his arms sliding off the desk and hanging limply by his sides. He had heard the officer explain this before, but he still couldn't believe it. Was it really possible that Ethan's mood caused his shadow to actually kill someone? And if that was true... then it was his fault. He said those awful things, he made Ethan feel this way. It was all his fault.

✻ ✺ ✹ ✴ʆ ock ҥan✸ ✷ ✶ ✵Gritting his teeth, Lock nodded and stuffed his tight fists into his pockets. "Yeah, thanks." He nudged Fredrich with his elbow, gesturing with his head to the jailcells. "I'm going to go say goodbye, then we can get to work, alright?" Without waiting for confirmation, he started towards the cells, turning back once to glare at the officer. "Oh, and by the way, before I got back, the last person to see me was Luciano Vaporatti, and he wasn't even questioned. Tell me again who got arrested for my death?" With another nod, he walked out, taking long strides to get back to his fiance. "Ethan! Good news: Waltz and I are taking your case!"
