O n c e __u p o n __ a __ t i m e, __ i n__ a __ p l a c e __ f a r __a w a y . . .
there was a quaint little island. The island was peaceful but busy. The population was simple but with most of the luxuries of modern day life. People had morals, made merry and lived alongside each other with respect and kindness. Of course this wouldn't last; An unnatural storm came over the island, wrecking many lives. The majority of the population died, leaving only a select few to fend for themselves. Cut off from the mainland people panicked but oddly enough did not grasp for violence or horror. Confused they tried to rebuild their lives. They waited for help. They'd soon find out help wasn't coming.
The storm that had destroyed the island in so many ways somehow went on strong. Their bays were inaccesable and they were depraved of many things. Fruits and vegetables were hard to find and people resorted to planting less desirable seeds to be able to eat at least. Many infants died and slowly the population dwindled; Over the many centuries the island had become a safe haven for those of different inclinations. Homosexuality was the norm. It was only during mating season that the two different genders were allowed to mingle in intimate ways. But with the recent tragedies not many people cared for procreation.
Well after the tragedy a new government took stand. They were a small group of privately chosen leaders and bettered many things for the islanders. They worked towards making the island a self-sustained living area for all, and re-introduced the mating season for the first time in years. The first co-ed school was opened, despite many protests from different groups. It ranged from high school to college, and they hoped to make heterosexuality and survival of the species less taboo. They made sure that the campus was a social spot, planting little shops on the premises to lure different sorts of people, smack dab in the middle of the tiny harbour city.
