Personalities:Andy is much like his (much loved/adored) older brother, Jordan in that he's an intelligent sort, loves gaming and generally tends to be a helpful sort of fellow. He's very high-energy, strong of will and heart and has a quick mind able to make leaps of faith and into the fantastical with a child's surety of purpose and sense. Unlike Jordan, however, he's far less likely to over-think a situation and far,
far more likely to go headlong into the fray -- Jordan has always been the one to hold Andy back and keep him from running head-first into trouble.
As the younger child, one might expect him to be a spoiled brat, but with such a strong attachment to his very awesome sibling he managed to avoid many of the "brat" tendencies (being given so many noogies might have had something to do with that!). Andy
does have a bit of a temper from time to time, but mostly has a good personality and a
really good sense of humor. All his life he's seen the shadows and
known that Jordan did too - unfortunately, Andy wasn't as good as his brother at...ignoring them. He
knew about the monster that lived inside Jordy's closet, the one that smiled at him from under his bed. It took a long time (and a lot of nudges from Jordan) to get him to even pretend that he was 'normal' and that the shadows didn't exist - and now he knows for certain that they
do! Heck, he even gets to play with one now, granted it's in the form of his Hunter weapon, Rex.
Ah, Rex. What to say about Rex. He's a good boy, a good dog. Really. At least, Andy assumes so - they never had a dog growing up, so he really only imagines he knows. Anyway. Rex might have a new shape, but he's still basically the same - eh hem - "fun-loving zombie-dog" he ever was. He's pretty damned loyal (as long as he doesn't
forget due to the rotting state of his dog-brain) and possessive-to-the-point-of-obsessive towards
his person (Andy). Oh, and Rex really just wants you [Andy] to
throw the ball, c'mon, throw the baaaaaall!!!. Or, you know, that half-rotting skull over there. That's close enough. And twice as delicious-smelling!
Throw it! Throw it! THROW IT!!!! He's not the brightest crayon in the box but he's certainly got the strength and strength of will to do what's needed (with direction) and he will
not stop until Andy "hauls back" on his "leash" or the job's
done. The biggest part of why Rex and Andy get along together so well is that they are both very prone to horsing around (Andy in less uh...zombie-like manners); their shared sense of humor keeps the bond between them strong. As do the mental ball-throwing bouts!
Together Andy and Rex have one of those classic and
eh-hem 'beautiful' "boy-and-dog" relationships despite that fact that
this boy is more likely to "sense" someone in trouble (and go to aid them) and Rex is an unimaginable leap away from any of those lauded "Lassie"-like traits. Rex might be loyal to Andy, but he's likely to give anyone
else a nasty bite! Rex communicates roughly in emotions, mind-pictures and simple commands (verbal or mental) like any good - undead - dog would; it's very lucky that Andy has such a vivid mind/imagination, or they might not have such a close bond.
Why did your human character choose to become a Hunter? For as much of Andy's life as he can remember, he and his older brother had
seen things...things that weren't there. Shadowy-shapes everywhere, lurking in the shadows and waiting to gobble them all up (okay, he didn't
know that last part, but if there is
anything to be learned from books, TV, video games or the News, it's that things lurking in the shadows generally want to do Terrible, Awful, Horrible things to a person. Like gobbling them up. So even with his father (and later, when his mother passed, his Tia Rosa) threatening to ground him forever (and a young boy's healthy interest in occult movies, games and books) Andy brought in strings of garlic, stakes, holy-water, silver items, iron items...basically anything he could think of into their home to protect the family. Because of his parents, he approached these things in a manner that he hoped made it seem like it was all a game so he was pretty sure those shadowy things didn't realize he was actually gunning for them -- but he
was. Working solution or no, Andy kept it up until...well, until the wreck.
Deus Ex Machina had offered Andy the chance to actually protect his beloved brother, his family and friends and those others he cared for...he jumped headfirst and whole-heartedly. The chance to kick some shadow-a**? Count him
IN!!! The hardest part - the only thing that gave him
any pause at all was knowing that he would not be able to ever contact Jordan, to let him know. But to protect his Big Bro...well, Andy gave that up.
Weapon Ability Speak! (Battle Cry) -- Multiple-shot "bark" (bullet) volley with chilling/numbing effect for additional damage.
(Intermediate)Sic 'em! (Battle Cry) -- Randomized Command Shot(s):
Sit! Stay! Play Dead! - One of three "commands" [stun-shots] used to inflict extra damage to the target in the form of paralysis; effect(s) last for 15, 25 and 30 seconds, respectively.
Physical Description:Eye Colour: Pale-blue (the sort that you might see on wolf-dogs; that can make people nervous should it be focused at them)
Hair Colour/Style: Blond; shaggy/messy - sometimes dyes/bleaches a streak white/blue
Skin Colour: Caucasian with healthy peachy tint; usually slightly tan due to being active outdoors
Clothing Style/Colours: (All Hunters wear a standard 'uniform': a white coat trimmed with gold with their class sigil on the back. They also always wear a colorful scarf/sash as part of their uniform. No matter what, these two items of clothing must be included in your Hunter's design!)
Andy dresses in layers; long sleeved shirt with a logo-bearing T-shirt over it; overly-long jeans, cargo-pants or cargo-shorts a chain wallet, lots of nerdy/game related pins/buttons. He also tends to wear bracelets (kind of punk style, but heavy on the nerd-side) but never rings/necklaces because those can get in the way of gaming. Color wise he goes for bright things with bold prints.
Extra: Favorite item is a red-ball cap (probably not going to be wearing it, but he does have one and it's his BABY. You don't f/ing touch it, because it was a gift from Jordan...once upon a time.)
Rex's Un-summoned Form: Helix piercing earring that goes up on his right ear; silver (tarnishes
very easily) in a "suitable" shape (uh, CC because my brain is stupid atm) - should have two small gemstones in red or orange-red (evil eeeeeyes, whoooooooo~ooooo)
