𝐁𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐝𝐚𝐲 - 𝐀𝐠𝐞 ╎ October 11th / Twenty One
𝐑𝐚𝐜𝐞 ╎ Raccon
𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 ╎ At first meeting one is left with the impression that he is a feisty character bent in the wrong direction. Maybe having woken on the uncomfortable side of bed or wished to of lazed about in said bed for the majority of the day.
He has been known to spout out something that can leave the others conversing with him sitting in frowns and bad moods. To sigh in annoyance when another comes over towards him or even turn a cold shoulder in some cases. His ability to slip under the radar in plan sight is un rivaled. So when this boy feels threatened and plans to make a hasty disappearance he can and probably will. But aside from his mouthy behavior Eiji is just that awkward boy who sits at the back of a room twiddling his thumbs together or staring outside into the trees, occupied by his own daydreams. If anyone sticks around long enough they'll see the timid man hiding just underneath his defensive layer. The one that stutters when the spotlight is turned solely on him or rubs at his cheeks nervously when outted for something he had hoped was missed. While he never truly means to upset people it just happens to come out and just like everyone else he enjoys a good conversation.
𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐀𝐫𝐞 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞 ╎ Eiji was born and raised here, a natural townie since October 11th. Third in a cluster of four pups he was considered the middle child out of the group. Not the oldest nor the youngest but the most striking when it came to his qualities at least. Taking after his great great coon with spot on accuracy his whimsical aunt would sometimes comment during his extended families reunions. Eiji personally didn't see it but couldn't really complain about being a living model of the clockmaker either, he had been a rather handsome man in his prime years. There was also no fear of going bald either at least, a plus.
Being a family tradition of sorts his mother worked In the repair business. Generously accepting tattered pocket watches or grandfather faces with the promise of restoring to its full potential. The business was definitely enough to keep the large amd rambunctious family's bellies full. Have comfortable housing in their side by side neighborhood just near downtown. While some of the inhabitants complained Eiji found comfort in the fact that his childhood friends were but a stone's throw away. Didn't take much walking to skip a few home units down when invited to play kick ball in the cobble stoned streets now did it? Not in the least..
Besides the neighbors knew eachother well enough that they all assisted in keep an eye out for the others. So Eiji and his two older brothers were allowed to run up and down the sidewalks untill the late hours of nine even.
His interest in his families handy work didn't spike untill he was nine years old. His brothers Aoi and Ito were growing apart, taking to their aspiring father like glue. Being two years older then Eiji they were allowed to go to work with his father on occasion. The young coon couldn't understand why he wasn't allowed and pouted about it first. Holing up in his room for days before he finally got over it and went back outside to play again. Which grew a bit more difficult. For after their first experience in town with their father scanning for credit scams the boys didn't play with their younger brother anymore. Upgrading to other games that Eiji didn't like the boy was left with his own devices.
When he wasn't at school he was sitting on a stool in his mothers study room asking for her help with his homework seeing as how he had lost his two tutors. Yet, when he was finished he often found himself sitting just to the side of the women to watch her work. Fingers moving effortlessly to piece together the little parts that Eiji found looked delicate enough to snap with a puff of air from their lips. It wasn't unheard of for the males of their "clan" of sorts to take up the tedious task of restoration. So it was no surprise that at least one child of the Natsku family grew interested. His lack of middle school interests helped in his ability to stay caught up with the tasks. Neighborhood companions grew up and blended in with their own groups. Brothers learning how to do a more "manly" field of work, the business aspect of their life career. While he himself, stayed awkward. It only progressed later..
By the time he reached high school things flipped flopped. Eiji, was far opposite from his two older and even younger brother when it came to socializing amongst their fellow piers. It was a lot more difficult for him to find people to speak with when their were so many of them. Intimidated the Raccoon avoided cliques, after school sports, dances, and clubs like the plague themselves. His first year, age fifteen, was rough but his skill in repairing sky rocketed. To the point that he was left with the trust of completing his mothers delicate jobs once she had her new born cub to take care of. A new male and youngest of the four who went by the name Tou. His skill was later recognized by a wealthy client. The man bragging to his co-workers and soon to Eiji's very mother about how pleased he was with her handy work. That night over dinner she shared the news with the family over dinner. Eiji was proud to say, he had a full time place.
A place that kept him out of the evil clutches of his classmates and in the world of the elders so to speak. He even dodged a major bullet when a girl grew interested in him after he did a quick repair on her broken locket. She was so joyed over it that she made an effort to become his friend and eventual love interest. But, Eiji wasn't interested in what she had to offer. Had been interested in what any female had to offer since he was twelve years old. But of course the girl didn't know that no. Nor anyone for he had been to nervous over the results of sharing such a secret. Not even his brothers knew of it..or so he thought.
Graduating and on his way to a healthy lifestyle Eiji had a brain storm. Why not, expand his knowledge a bit? Widen his skill range by taking on other restoration projects. Such as reshaping a vintage chair or pin ball machine. Adding in the faded details to an old lamp by re etching the patterns in himself. Or making new frames for grandfather clocks and china hutches..violens, pianos? It was genius and something that Eiji had confidence in himself to accomplish.
The first few jobs were minor ones. Little pieces brought to him from neighbors or other adults that hung around on campus at the local library. Feeling successful at it he purposed the idea to his Family. Waiting until their annual reunion to share the good news over the new development and show them his portfolio of excellent work. The picture in his head was a grand one in deed, but the actually telling of it all was a total disaster. "That's not our work? Who twisted your views so much that you would defile out family heritage with this...this.." this garbage. Did he mention it as a quote on quote, from his grandfather himself. His little stunt was enough to split the family into two halves. One that left Eiji the undeniable and uncomfortable entertainment of sorts. Lost somewhere in the middle but unable to retreat from their many eyes. While his mother and father were not against it his brothers were disappointed. Tou was to young at the time to comprehend it really so he was impassive. Frustrated but willing to continue Eiji left.
Got a job at the local music/book store to help pay for his lodgings while doing work on the side. His hopes of going to college for something else were almost flushed completely down the toilet that year. While he does work for clients out of his little apartment the Raccoon studies single courses on the side. Juggling a text book while sitting at the counter at the store or memorizing the study sheets over a steaming cup of tea at the local cafes. He can brag now that his idea was a success but, he still wants something more.
