Personalities: Ripley is something of an introvert. He tends to prefer being left alone to his own devices and do background work, but he does understand the benefits of human contact and will occasionally seek it out. Typically, he prefers to be in a room surrounded by people but not necessarily take part in the shenanigans unless he has to, and is usually labelled somewhere between cold and distant though he is neither of these things. He simply prefers to people watch, that's all. When it comes to conflict he stays out of it, and will keep his distance as it wouldn't be his place to interject. Afterwords though, he will seek out the party he feels was the victim and offer up some means of distraction be it movie, walk, or to simply talk.
His previous career made him patient and empathetic, and lead him to believe with all his heart that the small things count. This belief has lead to the quiet, nonchalant leaving of meaningful but anonymous gifts and notes here and there.
Despite all this he does have a (small) sense of humour, as deadpanned and dry as it is.
Wilhelm is proud, stoic, and takes things a little too seriously, which makes him much too easy to tease. Luckily, this is not something he'll get from Ripley for a long time.
Why did your human character choose to become a Hunter? Ripley grew up happy, healthy, and wanting - though he asked for little - nothing. His whole life was surrounded by spirits and shadows, little things out of the corner of his eye that couldn't be explained, and was never too disturbed by it; he simply assumed it was normal. Sure there were the mischievous spirits here and there who knocked over cups or overturned furniture, and there was the odd case of a body turning up in the woods that didn't seem like it was attacked by a normal animal, but nothing had outright happened to him and he was happy to put it out of mind. After all, knocked over items were always easy to fix and in the latter case, there was always a family to tend to. He was putting himself in position to take over the family business, Crowell Memorial, when the Funeral Home where he and his family lived, burned to the ground. Ripley had been out that day and came back to the fire squad and a mass of horrified onlookers, and in the chaos he saw something strange; a being of fire, dancing in a second floor window. It spotted him and waved at him, and that was where his memory of that time ends.
He remembers the fire, he remembers the being, and he remembers a string of funerals, psychologist appointments, and then a figure, asking him to join a specialized group to prevent what happened to his Family from ever happening again. He was edged towards the Death Division because his previous career made him fairly decent at getting information out of others, in his own way. It'll need some tuning now that he's not planning personalized funerals, but he has base skills for it.
Weapon Ability Battle Cry - A simple burst of strength.
