The nights served as a reminded of the life spent in containment, the days were beautiful, bright, one could see for miles and make out every detail.
Even so, the night brought forth a comfort that the day didn't have, the sky at night, speckled with the most breath taking sight.
Stars.
Stretching out far past any way to comprehend of end.
If the box had had stars, the Jirachi lost in the wild might have enjoyed it a little more.

Two nights had passed, and two days since her friend had sent her away, she still had no idea where she was going or what she was really looking for, just "The League" and just how far would she have to go?
There had been a bug spark of hope when the journey brought her up onto a different kind of landscape, over the trees and plains of the wild large towers of shining gray stood up tall.
having no idea what those were, but getting a familiar sense from them, instilled in by her friend, meaning that she was probably close!

The excitement that could have been expressed might have been more enthusiastic, if the Jirachi had been in a better physical state however. Maybe being able to float up high, and let out a cheer or at least smile. Instead her arms remained wrapped around her stomach, and the charms along her head continued to droop wearily.
She had never felt this terrible before, everything hurt, though mostly centering around her stomach.
Her first thoughts were that she was dying, she certainly felt like it, having no idea why anything was wrong, and upon seeing the tall structures hoped that the League would be able to help.

Was this why she was supposed to find the League? Could this League know what was wrong with her? Did her friend know she would be dying?

The expanse of grassland between the city and the mountains made a fine stage for pokemon training - it offered a change of pace from the often-visited park and provided a break from the more demanding beach and mountain environments Luke and his team had been using as of late. The late summer sun shined down on forms of white and purple, offering a broad spotlight as the two pokemon, Pidgeot and Jolteon, fought to out-speed one another. That same sunlight also illuminated, however, something that glittered like a gem in the distance, gradually drawing closer, and with a pang of immediate concern, Luke called to his pokemon to stop, gesturing them to his side. With great caution he moved towards the unfamiliar shape, fearing the glint as some indication of a weapon raised.

Moving slowly over the grass, just barely hovering over the ground so that the ends of the blades brushed against the little nubby legs hanging limply below her.

Her strained expression and tired eyes stared at the ground as she tried to keep going.
Letting out a moan of pain when her insides started to squirm again, and she drooped even lower, clasping her hands over her belly.
What was happening to her?

Her silence was interrupted though, not becasue there were any sounds, but by the familiar tug in her mind of another pretense nearby.
Another life... and this was different, not like the pokemon that she had experienced during her journey, these were different... more sophisticated.
"Huh?"
She stopped, and hovered as she lifted her gaunt eyes toward where she could feel this presence, it seemed to be moving forward, and as it did she could feel the shifting changing of the emotions of all three of them, but one in particular.

Already not feeling good at all, the Jirachi let out a soft whimper and fell out of the air, dropping onto the ground where she pulled herself into a sitting position, eyes growing wide at the three much larger creatures coming toward her, freezing her in place.

The sunlight made it more difficult than it should have been to identify the figure, and it was once he raised his arm to shield his eyes that Luke managed to ascribe the shape a status - or rather, managed to eliminate the possibility that the thing was human. Wariness ebbed into curiosity, and his pace increased slightly as his guard fell. Rem and Leste, sensing this shift in their trainer's disposition, relaxed as well, keeping close on the knowledge that even pokemon could be hostile without warning.

It certainly wasn't any kind of pokemon Luke was familiar with, though, and the crystalline form lost its levitation with a pitiful sound, he paused, crouching on the ground and regarding the creature with curious scrutiny. It looked harmless - or rather, it looked almost sick, and he felt kind of bad for having suspected it of being dangerous. Of course, that Pikachu had also looked pretty harmless right up to the part where it had suddenly blinded him, but this felt different from that. "Hey there," he said, keeping a soft tone. "Where did you come from? Do you have a trainer somewhere?" Whatever kind of pokemon it was, it certainly didn't look like a natural appearance.

The pokemon seemed to only be able to sit in silence with its mouth hanging open, eyes wide as it stared at not just the one she was feeling a great deal of caution from, but the two following him.

It wasn't until the one leading seemed to clarify with himself that she wasn't the threat that he was expecting... was he expecting a threat?
and knelt down, speaking to her, but with sound, not in her head.
Blinking her eyes and closing her mouth the Jirachi hugged her hands around herself.
"I don't know." She said finally "I have to go north, I'm finding the League." her voice rang forth from her head. She paused, drooping forward, and as if an after thought, recalling everything this thing had said she continued, sounding somewhat strained as her stomach gave another painful growl. "Hi... do you have a trainer somewhere?" What was a trainer?
PostPosted: Tue Aug 27, 2013 7:56 pm
If someone had asked Luke why he posed questions to pokemon if he weren't expecting a verbal response, he would only be able to shrug severely. The sound - sound? - of recognizable and understandable English words was a near overwhelming surprise to him, and he took a moment to blink silently and regain his bearings on the situation. Maybe it wasn't a pokemon? He'd never heard of a pokemon that could speak any human language, but then he supposed he had to account for the fact that there were an awful lot of pokemon he had never heard of before, and it was somehow different from speaking. He looked to Leste and to Rem to gather their opinions, the large bird standing with feathers slightly ruffled in curiosity and the vulpine pokemon as impassive as always. Unsure what to think, he recounted the creature's words, remembering mention of the League. His efforts to find words with which to reply were interrupted by the familiar sound of a stomach growling. Now that was something he knew how to deal with. "Hey Rem," he said, looking to the Jolteon again, "could you head back to where we were and grab my bag?"

The electric-type, who enjoyed every opportunity to use her speed, turned on her heel and quickly closed the short distance to the sack that had been abandoned for the sake of investigating the unfamiliar figure, and it was scarcely any time before the pokemon returned and deposited the requested bag at her trainer's feet. "I guess you're hungry, huh?" he surmised as he drew open the luggage and withdrew a small container of colorful, oval-shaped buns. He'd begun to try and fashion the poffins after the recipes in Asch's book, assuming they would be a familiar comfort for Saber and Tyke, and had eventually determined that they might also make good rewards to carry with him when he and his team were training. He pulled one of the pastries out and extended it gingerly in offer, "You can have one of these if you want. I don't know if they're very good, but they're at least edibleā€¦"

Surprise, and strong at that, so much so, and so unexpected that she shrunk down a little more over herself, her hands clenching on her sides. He looked calm on the outside, but he was intense... very intense. "You are a lot." She told him with a whine "You're big, but you're bigger on the inside."

One of the others dashed off with speed that made her stare, eyes wide. though a frown set on her face when he talked about- "Hungry?"
As the pokemon returned, she watched at the one talking to her reached out to hand her something.
Staring at it for a bit, she got the sense that he expected her to take it, so she reached out and gathered the brightly colored... thing into her arms, stared at it for a couple of seconds, before looking back up to him. "... What is it?"

Something about the way it smelled was making her mouth water, this surprised and startled her, not sure why she was suddenly having to swallow more frequently, when for so long her mouth had been try and painful.

He blinked, trying to make sense of the comment. "I think I'm probably about the same size on the inside," he eventually responded, confused. Did all pokemon think in such peculiar terms?

"It's called a poffin," he answered, grateful for a topic that he had some understanding over. "They're for eating." In demonstration, Rem suddenly pushed her way further into Luke's proximity, ignoring his indignant "well excuse me" and nosing under his hand to take one of the poffins from the open container.

He didn't understand what she was saying, not to the extent that she had meant it "No, you're big, really big, everything is going on at once and its loud." The Jirachi winced "You're loud and busy." reaching a free hand up to point a finger to his forehead.

"A poffin?" She asked, turning over the soft bright poffin in her hand, looking up at Look and frowning a little embarrassed, she could tell by him that she could know what that is.
Staying in quiet confusion, the tiny legendary watched the other pokemon walk over, and put one of them in her mouth, Her eyes widened in surprise, then looked back down at the food in her hand.
"... I don't understand like you do." She finally asked, looking up at the human kneeling by her, holding the Poffin back out to him.

"Oh," he said, somewhat taken aback and still not entirely sure what the words meant. He was apparently causing discomfort, though. He lowered his head slightly, unsure what it was in his behavior that he should correct. "Sorryā€¦"

Reflexively he took the poffin back when it was held to him, frowning lightly in uncertainty. Perhaps he had misunderstood, though a growling stomach seemed like it would be a pretty clear indication. The claim that the pokemon didn't understand left him suspecting that he owed an explanation, but wouldn't it be condescending to explain the concept of hunger and food? Or maybe the creature was young, younger than its command of human vocabulary would suggest, and it genuinely didn't understand the correlation. "Your stomach was growling, right?" he reminded, gesturing slightly at the stomach in question. "You'll feel better if you have something to eat. If you don't want this, I can try and find something else."

The small Jirachi's stomach made another uncomfortable noise, and a flicker of fear ran over her face as she hugged herself again.
He was sorry, deeply genuinely and guild riddled, she frowned, her amber eyes, tired and scared fixed on him as she tried to organize everything that she was feeling from this creature. What was he? "I know."

The look on her face tensed a little more when the growling was brought up, again this thing called 'eating' that she knew she should know. it was a thoughtless matter to them, but it made no incline to her, other then she got the sense that it was good. She wanted this eating thing.
"It will stop the pain!?" She burst out, pushing herself up to try floating again. "I don't want to die! it feels like something inside of me is going to kill me! I have to find the League!" the emotional expense drooped her back down, reaching out to catch herself on his knee where her head was lowered.

That was kind of eerie, but he was gradually learning not too be too startled by the pokemon's cryptic comments. He didn't understand the source of the words, but they certainly seemed to be free of any ill intent.

The pokemon's distress was all too evident, and on instinct he laid his hand on its head to offer a reassuring pat, the other hand still holding the poffin near enough that it could be taken if so desired. "It will," he confirmed gently. "Don't worry; it's not comfortable to be hungry, but you won't die from a growling stomach. If it makes you feel any better, I'm registered with the League." He didn't know why it was so important for the little thing to find the League, but it had succeeded.

She didn't understand why he was still confused about her comment, of course she knew, she heard him, not just heard him she felt him.
Could he not... tell? he had not spoken to her the way her friend used to, was there something wrong with him?

The Jirachi was in the process of pushing herself up, staring at the knee that her fatigue had dropped her onto, a slight furrow in her brow until something touching the jeweled head startled the tiny Legendary upright and nearly into the grass.
It seemed scared at first, though it slowly moved to startled, quieting with her breathing as wide eyes stared at the hand of the creature with green eyes.
Right away she understood that there wasn't any reason to worry, if this tall being wanted to hurt her, she would have felt it, it was quite the opposite, he had been trying to comfort her.
Comfort with touch...?
This was the first time she had made psychical contact with anything before.

Forgetting for a moment that the boy and his two pokemon were there, the legendary timidly reached one of her tiny hands to touch his, in something of awe.
"you're warm..."

His comment about being League snapped her back to look at him still in awe. "You are... the League?"
PostPosted: Wed Aug 28, 2013 8:54 am
The pokemon's obvious startle received a slight startle in return but calmed as it did, careful with his touch since it seemed to be an unfamiliar sensation. Again he wondered where this pokemon could have come from that such standard feelings and ideas were so alien to it. If its awe at contact was an indication, it probably didn't have a trainer anywhere. But then why was it searching for the League?

Confusions and curiosities aside, he smiled at the little thing's evaluation, turning his hand palm up for its continued exploration. "You too," he said, taking the tiny hand lightly between his finger and thumb. "That kind of warmth is proof of being alive. It's the same reason you're hungry, though hunger only happens every now and then." He certainly hoped he wasn't being condescending in explaining such things, but he had the impression that the pokemon was terribly young, blessed with a means of direct communication but cursed with a naivety about even its own basic functions.

The question to follow rekindled his curiosity about the pokemon's motivation, and he gave his response, "I'm a part of the League. The League is an organization made up of a lot of people, trainers. Why are you looking for them?"

There had never been anything to ever compare the size difference... or comprehend how small she really was.
Sure she had the idea from sitting helplessly in front of three much larger beings. But now, seeing the tiny white hand so easily compared in size to just one of his fingers.
weakly closeting her hands around his thumb she couldn't seem to look away.
It was scary, intimidating really, to be around something that was so big, but there was not even an ounce of ill will or hurtful intent toward her, making for a much calmer encounter.

It was what he spoke to, that finally drew her amber eyes up at him, blinking as her mouth fell open slightly.
Though she did not reply, the expression she wore implied that she was still listening to him talk, though even more so beyond the words, even as he finished.

"Being warm, means that you're alive." she repeated, reaching her other hand up to put it on her face. "I've never felt it like this before. I know that you are alive, becasue of here." She reached her free hand out and pointed to his forehead "You're noisy, and you're warm. Its nice"
Her stomach growled painfully again and she wrapped her arms back around herself, pulling her hand away from him. "This is noisy too, but it hurts, does being alive always hurt?"

she sat for a moment, both eyes closed tightly as he asked her why she was looking for the League "My friend told me to find the League." opening one eyes the Jirachi tilted her head up. "Because they would be able to help. I didn't know... the League was in parts." She admited, sounding a little confused.
though it just reminded her that she knew nothing about what the League was in the first place, not in the physical sense anyway.
"What do you mean you're part of it?"
