So I think my brain is a racist...

I was playing this game (War Thunder), which revolves around less than modern airplanes and combat with them (soon to be adding tanks, as well, but that's beside the point). A few days ago there was some sort of announcement about "Flying Tigers" at the top of the screen.

When I looked up to read it, my brain instantly translated it as "Flying Niggers" for a second, which was a huge shock. Sort of like when you have a surprisingly dark thought, like "I could totally put this baby in the oven right now", sort of dark.

Does this happen to anyone else, or is the consensus that my brain has been sneaking out to Klan rallies at night?

Everyones a little bit racist

I am indifferent towards any specific kind of grouping. But I do enjoy humour that feeds on derivatives of stereotypes.

Like these past several months I have been working in a Jewish summer camp (Which is just a regular camp in fall and spring, but mainly jewish kids in the summer).

But the past week or so we have been doing a bunch of maintainance/construction work building the foundations for a new theatre we are building. Mainly digging out/removing water from footing foundations/trenches.

We have a group of german staff here, and we have been making a bunch of jokes about germans now being the ones digging trenches in a jewish run camp (And similar things). We all make stereotype jokes about each other but know its all in good fun.

We also have 2 "black" staff, and well one we dont get to see to much since he works more behind the scenes, but the other one really plays up the token black jokes. And we throw them back at him....the sort of things I would never say to a person of colour who I didnt know so well.
