[PRP] Big Kid

The sky was bright with the sun, the morning air cooler than the summer as fall had finally begun to set in, and the world would find a small young man making his way through the main park of Camphoreon, toting a pichu on his shoulder, a Charmander following closely behind.

Their destination was set-- the widest area of grass in the park where they had taken to training when the young team had made the time...which had been nearly every day, much to the lad's parent's amusement. However, when they reached their place, the boy sighed a heavy 'Aw, man!' as it seemed he hadn't been the only one to think of enjoying the park on such a pleasant day. People had come with their pokemon, which at first glance had excited him, second glance had disappointed. These people weren't here to battle, and from the looks of it, they would probably be really annoyed if he tried to train amongst them. With a resigned sigh, he stayed on the center of the walking path, shoulders drooping, even as the Pichu climbed to the top of his head. Now what...

Man, the park really was crowded today wasn't it. It left Yuri wondering what the occasion was. Oh well, it couldn't really be helped as he also found himself at a bit of a predicament.

The man being followed by Astal and Repede, Yuri stopped and put a hand on his hip as he surveyed the crowd. The shiny Eevee huffed at all the people around, while Repede was nonplussed. The Growlithe also looked like he had sufficiently recovered from the incident in the desert.

Yuri's eyes then fell upon a familiar little boy standing there in the middle of one of the paths, and he would soon be standing next to him. "Hey, what's with the long face?"

At the sound of the mans voice, the boy turned to look at him quickly, upsetting the tiny mouse pokemon on his head to the point that it tugged at his hair, causing him to wince a little. "Hey, Yuri," he greeted. "The park's too crowded today! Now we can't train..."

"Well, why not go somewhere else?" he suggested. And he was thinking of actually taking his own advice too. Astal was clearly not comfortable with the amount of people around, and Yuri wasn't seeing much space as a result either.  

[Tori Honoo]

Jace sighed. "Yeah, I guess we could, but where? I'm not 'spose to go out of the city by myself..." he explained, huffing just the slightest bit.

Yuri placed a hand on his hip with little smirk.

"Well, I was just heading that way."  

[Tori Honoo]

Jace's eyes lit up and widened as he looked up at the man. "Can we come with you?! We gotta train! We could even battle with you guys if you want!" he offered, clearly assuming it would be a good trade.

"Sure," Yuri said easily. "If you think you stand a chance against me." The last part said with a grin.

With that, he placed his sword on his shoulder and started walking towards the park's exit.

"Oh, yeah, totally!!!!" he exclaimed, pumping a fist into the air--which his little pichu was quick to imitate. Waving a hand to Chester, he ran to catch up with the man as he started away, then jumped into step next to him, energy nearly radiating from his little body. "So do you guys train a lot? I bet Repede is awesome! And you've got an eevee! It's shiny! What's up Captain?" he asked it, leaning around the man to look at it.

"Well... yeah," Yuri said, glancing down at the kid as they walked along. "Though I don't think its the kind of training you're used to."

Repede walked along, holding his head high proudly, while Astal huffed at the obvious statement of his coloration.

The stated difference in training only enthralled him all the more. "A different kind of training, huh? I want to see! Do you let them battle each other? That's what we do most of the time."

Astal's huff drew a curious look from the Charmander and the Pichu on Jace's shoulder, the smaller piping up for conversation. <> she said, introducing herself to the other human's companions. <>
The Charmander waved a little, sighing at the electric type's enthusiasm.

"Yeah, they do that.. and they fight against me too," Yuri explained.

Astal meanwhile, ignored the calls of the other Pokemon, while Repede woofed his own greeting and gave his name. The shiny Eevee not seemingly to be particularly social today.  

[Tori Honoo]

"They fight you, too?!" What?! That was crazy! Humans weren't anywhere near strong enough to fight pokemon! The boy looked absolutely perplexed as he stared at Yuri in wonder and awe. "But how? Is that why you have a sword? Doesn't that hurt them? Don't they hurt you!?"

Zap frowned deeply at Astal's indifference and openly rolled her eyes before turning her full attention to Repede. <>  

[BlackPidgeot]

"Yeah, but we don't hurt each other. Its called sparring."

There wasn't exactly a lot of people with swords around for him to spar with here in Kodo. There was Flynn, but he was often busy, Luke was out of commission, and Guy had long since left.

Repede again woofed at the Pichu, returning the sentiment.

Jace continued with his incredulous look. "But how?" he asked. "Wouldn't Repede burn you? And you'd cut Astal up to pieces!" He had heard of people boxing with fighting type pokemon, doing karate and stuff, but sword fighting...?!
