A young woman walked through the streets of the tiny town, watching the forest around her like she was afraid something would jump out of the trees.Pulling the hood of her jacket low of her face, she stumbled slightly in the snow, wincing slightly at the pain that shot through her side at the movement.Less than a week before, she'd been attacked while camping and though she swore it was a wolf that bit her, the local animal expert insisted it had to have been a cougar, saying wolves hadn't been in the area for more than a hundred years.She shivered slightly and rubbed her arms as she hurried along, watching for patches of ice on the sidewalk.

"Keep an eye on her, Alex. if she changes help her and keep her safe." one of the alpha said looking down at the wolf who sat down in front of their feet. he was young with patches of fur barely coming in after the last attack that happened to him and he still limped when he walked in both human and wolf form. Alex bowed his head and took off. making sure he kept himself hidden as he watched her, the moon wasn't even out yet, and he smiled as he closed his eyes for a moment, trying to stay hidden behind the tree

"Ellie!" The girl jumped startled as she turned slightly, spotting an older woman coming out of the nearby shop "Are you alright?You seemed a bit dazed there." Ellie managed a small smile "Just paranoid, I'll be alright.Thanks for asking though." The woman hesitated a moment before going back inside.Ellie sighed slightly and headed back down the road dreading the moment she had to step into the trees to get home.Reaching the end of the road, she took a deep breath and pressed on, picking up her pace when she passed the first line of trees.She glanced up, seeing the first bits of light from the rising moon and felt and odd sensation hit her.

Alex grimaced as he followed her. almost slipping on the cold grass and smiled as he tensed up feeling the first bit of warm moonlight hit his skin.
"Are you alright miss, seems the blessing of the moon has affected you as well." he said knowing that she would understand his language because of the bite that was placed on her arm

Ellie froze midstep, an irrational amount of fear hitting her "Who's there?" She turned, looking into the trees as she continued to back up in the direction of her house.Her hand closed over the handle of the taser in her pocket, already charged and ready for use.She felt a sharp pain in her back and chest and nearly stumbled again.

"Relax. i want to help you." he said and walked up to her and grimaced as a pain ran through him. nearly knocking him over on his knees, the shirt he was wearing was already ripped showing the dark scars and bites that ran along his skin

"People offering help don't sneak up on others in the middle of the night." Upon seeing him, her eyes widened in surprise at the visible damage "And you look like you need help more than I do..." She let out a small gasp as another wave of pain hit her, leaving her feeling dizzy for a few seconds.She'd stopped backing up at least, though the front door to her home was less than twenty yards away now.

"Are you in a lot of pain." he asked pushing himself so he was standing up and shook it off and walked over to her and wrapped his arms around her waist. "Do you need me. to help you back to your place." he asked as he watched her for a moment a small smile on his face as he looked at her

Ellie froze and pushed him away with one hand, her fingers tightening on the taser in her pocket again "I'm fine.I can make home by myself." She found the guy's chivalry a little creepy at the moment and there was something about the entire situation that had her on edge.Catching her breath as the pain faded again she headed for the front door, never turning her back on him.

"Fine." he said and grimaced as he turned around and walked off. but he collasped to his knees feeling the moonlight burn against his skin as his eyes closed. "Damn it." he said as he laid down on the ground, the pain was running through like crazy shifting his bones and causing him to go into a sort of kneeling position

Ellie paused with her hand on the door handle, hearing his knees his the frozen grass.She clinched her jaw slightly before turning around, pain starting to ripple through her with a constant thrum "Hey..Do you need to go to the hospital or something?" Her hands were shaking slightly and she felt a burning sensation come over her.For a first time shifter it would take a little longer.

"I'm fine, its just a bit of pain that's all." he said and sighed as she closed his eyes and tried to relax a little bit and sighed as he laid down and closed his eyes. "Did you get bitten by a wolf at all." he asked as he half opened his eyes and looked at her

Ellie tensed, a little shocked at his question "I- Um..Yeah...the warden kept saying it was a cougar..Wolves haven't been in this area in a little over a hundred years..." She rubbed her side slightly, where she'd been bitten.The second she touched the bite though, that was the end of composure.She let out a strangled sounding scream and fell to her knees as pain flared all over, her bones started to shift and turn to accommodate a new form.
