[HH 1 vs 1] Fox hunt (Simply, Jason)

With a melancholy sigh, Jason dragged himself through the portal that lead to the haunted house. wondering just what horrors awaited him today. Obviously something bad because he just couldn't get a break today. Regardless, he had brought something with him today in a blind hope to keep his nerves down.

A cup of tea.

Well, he was hoping it would calm him down. It was something his mother had always told him to drink whenever he got stressed out (which was alot), but he never had been a big fan of the stuff. This time, however, he was willing to give it a shot.

Sipping on the contents, he continued to walk from room to room.

Now, Simply had had quite the day. What with not properly keeping track of how many poor citizens she'd hugged, and just having an excuse to go around hugging every living(and unliving) thing in sight. She'd even gone to checking each and every random room at the school for more people to save her from her curse(because she'd forgotten to keep track of how may she hugged) and well... as much s she liked sparkles she didn't like exploding.

So she had kept going. Unfortunately, she hadn't checked where on that one door. Which had ended up being a portal straight to the haunted house. This was a bit of a problem, seeing as she hadn't exactly found many creeple around and she did need more(no she didn't), but as it was a matter of life and death she would move onward!

And so There she was, scampering as quickly as she could through the halls looking for any poor soul who might do to save her from her terrible, awful, scary curse. And the first one she found? Why a rather familiar hunter! That fellow she'd tried to greet before and was named 'Aaaaaah!'

WONDERFUL! He would help her! "AAAH! GOOD!" Was what Json would be greeted with along with the sight of the werefox scampering towards him. "I need a hug or I'll die!" Hey, she wasn't lying. At least she didn't realize she was lying.

The sudden loud noise caused Jason to choke on his tea, nearly dropping the cup as he spun around to see what was coming towards him-

Oh god it was her again!

The moons face paled at the approaching monster, his body already turning in order to flee. Her words stopped them though. She was going to die if he didn't hug her?


'But she's a monster and I'm supposed to fight halloween'


Jason was torn, unsure of weather he should run and do his job as a hunter (which wasn't running bit fighting, but in this case it didn't matter), or if he should stay there and cop it.

Oh, she'd nearly made him drop his drink. Oh, but at least he hadn't that was good. She didn't want a mess or anything. And he seemed like maybe he was enjoying it, aside from looking a bit panicked? I mean he looked almost undead, that couldn't be healthy. Wait did he get cursed too, maybe that was it? And he was all worried about exploding in sparkles and confetti and never being seen again?

Well then she could help him too! But really, why was he looking at her like she was so dangerous? She was harmless. Really, really really! She even wagged her tail a bit hopefully at him with the biggest eyes she could manage as she slunk closer arms outstretched as she explained. "Yea, you see I got cursed and if I don't hug enough people I'll explode in sparkly bits and no one will ever see me again." And she was looking at him in as much of a pathetic manner as possible as she inched closer, closer. She didn't want to spook him further, now did she? But you can help!" Yep! She meant well, now don't run-

Sadly, she tripped on a slab of wood that had fallen along the way, her arms flailing in circles. Nononononono falling- "EEP!" Sadly, she didn't know her own strength as she was falling forward toward a poor hunter that happened to before her. It as an accident really, but she managed to whack him quite well in her plummet to the ground. Which was rather unceremonious as she landed on her face. Graceful. That was not how you hugged someone. "Owwwwie...."

As the fox monster advanced, Jason took a step back, still a little unsure of the situation but also unable to ignore the puppy dog eyes she was giving him. With his weapon demanding him to be a man and hug the ghoul he was almost tempted to just get it over and done with.

Instead, she appeared to trip and as he watched her decent he didn't realize her claws were taking a swipe at his-

"Urk..."

As Simply went down, Jason quickly followed suit, her lucky shot giving him a nasty blow in a place he really didn't want to be hit. Because FEAR shield or not it still hurt. He might of fallen on her by accident, it was hard for him to tell through the pain.

It was super effective... even if it had never meant to be an attack. She'd only just hit the floor when moments later some dead weight flopped on top of her causing an audible 'oof' to escape her as she was squished rather soundly against the floor. This was not how meeting friends was supposed to go(or fights between students and hunters). Sadly, Jason was heavy and well, she was sort of face first against a grimy icky floor. She wasn't exactly against getting muddy or dirty, but the haunted house was a sort of special kind of ew.

Regardless, she wanted up, so it was time to escape. And Jason was heavier than her. What, did she look like some sort of monster? She was a dainty, harmless, little ghoul. Sheesh.

So with that in mind she tried to scramble out from under the hunter, doing her best not to actually hit him in the process, sadly that meant going to one side. Which inadvertently... knocked over a board(who kept leaving this stuff lying around in a decrepit old mansion?) which... fell straight down towards Jason. Woops, well.. accidents happened?

Oh. And then she found where the tea fell, great... now her arm was properly soaked in... hmm well it wasn't a bad blend. As long as she didn't make the mistake of tasting it.

"W...W-why would you do-" Came a very squeaky voice as Jason rolled on the floor in agony, before he felt the ghoul shift and try to escape. Not wanting her to claw him out (again), he rolled away until he found a board was smacked in his face. This didn't hurt as much as the other attack, but it did make him stumble to his feet, and momentarily blinded he did not see the lose floorboard as he stepped onto it with his boot. And this floorboard just happened to be on the opposite side of Simply who may or may have been standing on it.

At any rate, Jason was a little awestruck when he realized just what he had done.

"Why would I what..?" Was the confused comment in return that Jason got as the ghoul managed to finally escape from under him, rubbing her butt that had sort of gotten jabbed with an elbow or something in Jason's fall. Well at least she sort of broke it for him? And... maybe broke something else. It'd get better hopefully. She didn't know she'd done it though.

And she didn't have time to keep worrying about what she might have done when an audible creak was heard as Jason stepped on the wrong board, or maybe the right one. Because as the board shifted to fall below his weight it lifted the lighter ghoul right up, up... and into the air with the sudden force until a nearby wall broke her fall... or just stopped her path. Either or. Regardless, she didn't exactly land well, and slid down to the ground in a bit of a pile of ears, tail, ribbons, and claws as she worked to regain her senses. Ow. Ow that hurt...

Sadly, the ghoul hitting the wall caused a bit of rattling above and a few boards seemed to come crashing down. Though none of the bigger things seemed to fall near the hunter, maybe some debris, but nothing worth calling dangerous really.

O....oh...It looked like he had literally sent the fox monster flying into a wall. With a flinch, he watched her fall off it, bringing down some debris from the roof which he quickly moved out of the way to avoid, and then hit the ground.

"....."


'y-yeah...'

'I didn't mean it! And it's my job!'


Slowly, he moved over to the downed monster, coughing up dust as it swirled around. Though as he moved his foot tripped on some of the debris that had fell, and low and beheld he fell atop of Simply again with a yelp.


'ZANTHVOS WILL YOU EVER SHUT UP'

Yes. Yes he had. That was not looking like it, that was doing it. One problem with being a bit smaller built was that she was sort of light in comparison. Strong or not, she still flew when things flung her. And he'd done so quite well. She wasn't terribly angry about it, but she'd only managed to right herself and sit up a bit, rubbing at her head to try and ease the headache she was getting a bit as the hunter started over.

He didn't seem intent on trying to hurt her, seeing as he wasn't yelling or waving anything so, well she just sort of ignored it, until an elbow came down on her head as he lost his balance due to a board. Someone should have REALLY told them about how dangerous and rickety the Haunted House was. So with a yelp to match his at the bonk she worked went back to rubbing at her head with a bit of a whimper.

Ouchie... that really really REALLY smarted. Thankfully, the more she rubbed at her head the less it hurt, almost to the point she felt as good as new. Not quite, but much better. Well enough that Json got a poke on the shoulder and a pout. "Be more careful where you step!" Couldn't that... comment have gone both ways? She'd fallen first.

Not that she was keeping count.

Jason was also rubbing his head to make sure it hadn't been hurt in the fall, pushing himself to his knees with a groan. There was so much dust and broken floorboards around it made moving such a hazard. But as he looked around to see where he had fallen, his eyes went wide, as Simply was mere inches from him.

As he watched her perform the same action as he was, he could see some sort of energy being released, At least he thought it was energy, he couldn't explain how she was healing herself like that. And then with those very same hands, she was reaching out to him.

"W-wait what are you going to do?!" he squeaked. Was she going to cast a spell on him?! When he felt the tiny poke on his shoulder he was up again, hallowing and thrashing in his attempt to get away before she turned him into a frog or something even worse.
