[ORP] Grand Opening

As the end of the year drew closer and little setbacks accumulated, it became obvious that the League's trainer center wouldn't open by year's end. However, it wasn't much longer of a wait before the building did open its doors, its every surface polished and pristine. Trainers able to present proof of registration with the League would be able to enter the facility unimpeded, a nonintrusive scanner set up at the door to detect identification through both trainer cards and pokedexes. The main lobby, the only floor of the center that existed above ground level, was aglow with sunshine from the large skylight, the occasional jacketed Growlithe wandering by as if on patrol. The floor opened up as a wide balcony that looked down into the basement levels, the back wall lined with elevators for those unwilling or incapable of utilizing the stairs. A sign indicating the different floors' attractions was posted nearby.

In honor of the center's grand opening, the various locations that made up the food court on a lower level had brought up platters of food; it was by no means a buffet, but the assortment of hors d'oeuvres would be enough to sate moderate levels of hunger. A table had also been set out to house a few stacks of brochures, free for anyone interested, that outlined the center's features, benefits, and staff.

The first floor, though set up as a place for visiting trainers to mingle, was not the only area open to exploration. On the floors below, the pokemon center and mart, the food court, the temporary lodging, and the diverse array of training arenas were open to visitors and ready for use.

Of course, Henrietta /had/ to be there /as soon/ as she possibly could. Despite having visited home for a few days- as, after all, it was a very holiday-filled time of year- she had made absolutely sure she could be back in Kodo fairly quickly, and was delighted to have made it back to the region in time to see the first trainer center opening.

Gummy didn't seem very impressed with the building, but when it came to the Totodile, it was questionable if he was ever impressed (or frightened, or disturbed, or anything really) by anything he encountered.
He followed his trainer dutifully as she flitted and changed her mind numerous times over what she wanted to go and see.

The sight of food, and a grumble from her stomach, reminded her that she was hungry, thus Henrietta found herself (after being distracted by more than one Growlithe wandering across her field of view (she just had to say hi to /all/ of them!) tucking in to something from one of the platters.
She made sure Gummy had a snack to himself, too, though it lasted only seconds before it was gone.

Those that might know him would probably be surprised when Yuri actually entered the center and began meandering around.

While it had behooved him to do so, Yuri had officially registered as a trainer just before the centers opening. Atleast that made his Pokemon legal, but he still hadn't warmed up to the idea as being a part of this league yet.

With Repede following, Yuri was a man on mission. Asking around and looking for someone official enough to ask some important questions. Maybe that Petrel Rail woman he'd seen on the tv or something.

If Henrietta thought about things more, she would probably have been one of those to be surprised to see Yuri entering the center, but... a lot of the time Henrietta just didn't consider such details.
They usually didn't matter so much to her, after all; all that really mattered to her was that one of her friends had entered the building.
She'd likely remember Yuri having not being registered at some point in the future, and then congratulate him, but as it was, all she had for him upon sight was a rather crumb-spraying greeting of;
"FHAY! YUFREE!"

Gummy acquired a shower of crumbs. He didn't seem bothered.

Hearing something vaguely resembling his name, Yuri turned to see Henrietta. Thus he walked over to her and placed a hand on his hip amusedly.

"You take stuffing your face to a whole new level," he said before looking to the offered snacks himself.

He then reached for some and popped them in his mouth. Might as well take advantage of free food after all.

As Yuri and Henrietta reunited near the food, another young trainer, this one shorter and wide eyed, entered the Trainers' Center, Charmander and Growlithe in tow beside him. The boy moved through the lobby, nearly beaming from ear to ear as he walked through the groups of people who had arrived, searching out everything and anything. This place was awesome!

Upon further wandering, Jace would stumble across Yuri and Hen, his smile growing impossibly wider. "Hey! Hey guys! This place is amazing!"

Chester and Komashi stopped quietly behind the boy, the charmeleon waving his greeting to the other pokemon.

Henrietta grinned (and likely showed off at least part of what she was eating) at Yuri's comment, before swallowing and having a mouth clear enough to talk.

"We got hungry! Hi! Hi Repede!" The girl greeted, now, with less disturbing crumb spray, but just as much enthusiasm.
"Isn't this place awesome?! I can't wait to see it all and battle everyone!"

A familiar voice stalled Hen' from reaching for more food and repeating her 'spray-greeting' from before. She waved happily at the recent arrivals, while Gummy greeted them all with a loving (probably not) stare into space.

"It is!" She agreed, instead of properly greeting the younger trainer. "It's /so awesome!/ Hey! We totally gotta battle later!"

"Yeah, it's not bad," Yuri agreed although not exactly with the exuberance the kids had. He then popped another one of the finger foods into his mouth and chewed lazily.

Repede woofed his greeting to Henrietta, but wa otherwise content to observe his surroundings.
