[PRP] Too Hoooooooot

Dove sighed in slight frustration, dragging her arm across her forehead before she loosed her hair, only to pull it up properly again. This was slowly losing it's appeal.

Standing still in the middle of the southern edge of Cypress Forest, the trainer stayed quiet, listening to the trees around her for any sign of the pokemon they had been searching for. Two men, other trainees that had invited her on this 'hunt' had split off and couldn't be too far away... and yet there was no sign of anyone nearby.

Aurora paced nearby, her head high as she listened in as well. "Anything?" her trainer asked. The fire type huffed, shaking her head as she stilled, and Dove groaned and checked her gear for the time. It had been a long enough day at work, and though she was pleased with the game--or at least, had been at first--all she wanted now was to go home, cook a nice meal, and enjoy her evening not in the heat.

Moriko, now that Lin was, for the moment, not travelling around, or in need of her, was out of her ball and browsing and re-exploring her old familiar 'stomping grounds'.
She skipped lightly over a stream, and noted some old markings she'd once left on a tree, by scratching her antlers against it.
It clearly needed to be redone, and freshened up.

Her ears twitched.
There was something odd about the forest today, and she felt like she'd heard a somewhat familiar voice through the trees, none too far away.
The Sawsbuck lifted her nose and snuffled at the air, trying to see if the wind would bring her a scent she knew.

Aurora's ears twitched at the sound of antlers scraping against bark. Sniffing the air, she knew it was a pokemon, but even through her irritation, she recognized the scent. Though not too familiar, it was familiar, and she padded toward it. Maybe, if they knew one another, she could ask if they had seen anything. Staying in one spot, also, would do nothing for the tracking of their target...

Dove watched as Aurora stepped further into the forest, slipping her bag back across her back as she followed.  

[Gwennythe]

Who was that?
Moriko lowered her head a little, just in case... And let out a warning; if it was a foe approaching, she was prepared to fight... If it was a friend, then... 'Hello!'

She snorted and backed up a little when Aurora appeared, then blinked, curiously, at the human who followed.
Oh! She knew these...

Dove stepped over a few high roots, carefully keeping her balance as she continued to follow the fire type. When Moriko appeared, however, she stopped, smiling just the slightest bit. So pretty...

Aurora lowered her head a little, grinning as she approached. she greeted, sitting back.  

[Gwennythe]

<< Indeed. We have met upon the desert sands. I remember you and your girl. My friend and I were most gracious for her help then; it is welcome to see you both here, though a surprise.>> Moriko addressed Aurora, a lot less wary now that she'd worked out just who these people were.
She snorted another greeting toward Dove, unable to talk to her as she was to Aurora, and took a few steps toward the pair.

Aurora relaxed, nodding. <> Lovey had said Moriko had been there when her trainer had nearly let herself be frozen to death. The thought made her frown at her girl.

Dove, somewhat startled by Aurora's sudden frown at her, extended a hand to the sawsbuck, careful to stay still. Aurora was familiar with her, and she wasn't Rosie's... The only other one she knew was--

"Moriko?"  

[Gwennythe]

<> The Sawsbuck confirmed with a little nod, then whuffed slightly, pushing her nose against Dove's hand, apparently pleased the girl had recognised her.

Aurora made a face and shook her head. < she remarked. <>

Dove smiled a little brighter when the grass type seemed to confirm her suspicion, and she looked upward to the trees. "Is Lin here?" she asked, stroking Moriko's nose. Lin would likely have seen some. Surely, as much time as he spent in the forest, he would know where to start searching again.

Aurora nodded again. <healthier, I think, and alive, thanks to you and your boy. She's got off work not long ago, and now they're playing some game, trying to catch a skitty for one of her work-mate's girlfriends,>> she explained. <> It still baffled her that a girl like hers would be doing this sort of work. She was more than capable, of course, but... it still didn't seem quite right. Skitty hunting sounded much safer.

Moriko twitched her ears as Dove asked if Lin was around and raised her head slightly in affirmation, snorting and looking back in the direction she'd last seen the boy.
He'd be relatively easy to find for her, even if he had moved about.

<> Moriko said as she started to turn, to invite the pair to follow her <<Skitties? Skitties are often in the forest. I have not seen any today though. That is not to say they aren't around. We forest pokémon can often elude each other.>>

Aurora grinned a little. Damn right her girl hadn't been able to do that again... She nodded in gratitude.

Dove offered a smile, then stepped around, looking up into the trees as she left the pokemon to talk, all the while adjusting her backpack strap across her chest again and ignoring the sun beating down on her bare shoulders as she looked around for any sign of her friend. "Lin? Hey, Lin!" she called, unsure if she would gain any response or not. It was worth a shot at least.

Aurora watched her girl walk off a ways, hesitant to let her go alone, though she was still well within sight. Her attention returned to Moriko. <> she sighed, referring to Dove.  

[Gwennythe]

Moriko snorted a little as Dove started calling for Lin.
<> The deer-like pokémon forgetting, for a moment, just how bad human senses could be in the scent department; she knew Arcanines were much better at it though.

When she received no reply, the woman slowed her walking, her eyes still searching the trees as she listened in as best she could. He definitely wasn't in the immediate area, that was for sure.

Aurora laughed quietly. <> she teased, studying her trainer again. <>

With that, the arcanine went over to her girl, stopping her with one paw, then scooped her up onto her neck, knocking the wind out of the trainer in one easy swoop with her nose.

"Hey!"

<< That is a good point.>> Moriko acknowledged with a faint smile, and watched as Aurora 'collected her things'. <> The Sawsbuck promised, with a slight nod of her head, then took off gracefully through the forest, stopping every so often to make sure they were following, before finally stopping a clearing.

Aurora nodded and followed swiftly, easily able to keep up with the sawsbuck, though her powerful bounds weren't as elegant. Dove rode smoothly on the arcanine's back, hoping that, somehow, Aurora had been able to communicate to Moriko what their mission was.

When they reached the clearing, Dove slipped off of the fire type's back again and looked skyward, grateful for the break in the trees, but not so much the heavy fall of the sunshine now unbroken by the leaves.
