Aulus nodded, running a hand along his own pokeballs. "I haven't set it to do anything too interesting right off the bat but we can crank it up once we're warmed up." He and his team had been training, training, training ever since the mission had been announced. At first it had been hard on his ribs, they still ached a bit now when he exerted himself, but he was nearly back on form and his pokemon were better than ever.
"Just to recap, let's see who we're bringing," he continued, trying to make himself think a bit rather than just charge at the obstacles. "We're going to coordinate and all, right? I've got Tortie, Char, Paul, Phaeth, Discord and Asgard. For this mission... frankly I'm mainly aimed at power but Discord has support capabilities more than anything and Paul too, that and his damn useful webs." It would be a bit weird to be Tam's partner on a mission Alex was going to be present on, but maybe together they would form a greater whole.
They had been there. So far as he knew none of the others who had been there had signed up for the mission.

"Good idea- yes... Uh. I guess I'm aimed at, uh... 'debuffs'? Sort of?" Tambrey grinned sheepishly. "Not sure if that's the right term here, but I have Lasi, Pygi, Neph- she's, uh, kinda useful really-," She promised "Ella, Treestar, and Gauntlet. Um. Ella's kind of power-based? But they all have various, um, hinderance attacks, like Sand Attack and Thunder Wave..." She did like Sand Attack... Wasn't so fond of Thunder Wave for obvious reasons, but it wasn't like it was aimed at her when Gauntlet used it...
"That seems good, by the way, um, start off steady to warm us up..." She stood on one leg for a moment, testing that it still felt okay, aware that she still have a fair bit of a helpful concoction running through her blood, but she was certainly needing that a lot less already. She was confident she'd be fit for the mission, at least physically; mentally- she'd work on it.

"Ooh! Useful... I kind of got rid of Neph's String Shot in favour of Spider Web... Should be good if we ever need to, uh, stop something or someone getting away? Well, you've seen her use it with Killer that time..." Tambrey smiled, again a little sheepishly. "Treestar's got Reflect for some defense..."
She nodded and adopted a ready stance. "Ready when you are!" And she hoped she was- she hadn't trained anywhere near like Aulus had, having rather thrown herself into her lab work for a bit instead, but a bit of realistic thinking- and a certain talk with Rory- had, at least, made her even more, logically, determined to be 'ready for anything'.

"Right," Aulus nodded agreement, "String Shot's not much good for that, it's more for making rope and first aid." He hadn't forgotten how the shy little spider had patched Jerome's wounds; for all he knew it might have been the difference between his friend hanging on until he could get proper help and him bleeding out there on the floor of the mothership.
Where they were going.
"Ready," he agreed, giving himself a mental shake and reaching up for the controls to start the sequence. "Remember if you think anyone's about to get sliced in half the safeword is 'kill-switch', that should shut everything down; apparently they've done a good job of making it understand different accents so we should be okay."
With a small decisive nod Aulus released five of his six pokemon - Asgard was a bit big to participate in this kind of training - and activated the training sequence. Almost immediately mechanical whirrs and clunks began behind the walls and a few panels folded away, drawing wary looks from Aulus and his quintet of companions.
Paul, looking very unhappy indeed, quickly scurried up onto Char's shoulder and clung on firmly. He didn't like this, he really didn't like this!

"Kill-switch, got it." Tambrey repeated, and nodded, with a nervous smile, before letting her team out; she didn't really have anybody /huge/ to worry about.
The whirring, though, produced a similar reaction as in Aulus' team, in all except Neph, who seemed genuinely delighted by the situation they found themselves in. There was some weird, and fantastic, tension that spoke of something dangerous; the spider 'danced' a little with dark excitement.
"That's kinda ominous..." Tambrey muttered, wondering if she was actually ready after all. As though she sensed her friends' worry, and could help with bluster somehow, Ella snorted and made her body 'clink', readying herself for whatever was coming.

Wah! Pressure washers! And a treadmill! Tambrey had nodded, offering a smile back, then found herself ducking, and trying to weave away from the powerful jets, as a Discord went tumbling by...
Gauntlet, Pygi, and Lasi all seemed to be having a reasonably easy time of it, until similar devices began to open via the ceiling in random patterns.
Treestar and Neph seemed to be doing okay; the latter seemed to know well how to dodge and dive, while the Bayleef was finding himself lucky as well as better at reacting than he'd have thought.
Ella, slower and less maneuverable, was not having fun at all. The water hit her more often, and it stung, but she was trying her best to avoid what she could; at least she was heavy.
"Feels like a dishwasher!" Tambrey called, managing, somehow, to avoid a sudden jet of downward water... The floor was getting a little more wet and slippery though, despite the drainage... And then the floor began to get 'uneven'; some mechanism began to raise small 'squares' of the floor up, just a little bit- ranging from 2-5 centimeters or so- above the main floor.

Treestar looked very proud as Aulus praised his defensive skill.
Tambrey tried to stay off her hands, as the walk became a climb. "Oh, /loads/!" Tambrey agreed, dodging to the right to avoid a particularly large tile variation.
Unfortunately, the next hazard happened to be mild, electrical, prods that would poke from random places, to administer a short, sharp, shock, before vanishing again. "Oh frak!" The very sight of them caused Tambrey to stop for a moment when she really shouldn't have, a tile growing beneath one boot and throwing her backward to collide with the Bayleef.
Ella, thankfully, wasn't in the path of her fall.

Ella 'caught up' with her human, concerned about the fact that she'd fallen down, that Aulus had gotten shocked, and that he had then tripped over Tambrey.
She snorted, loudly, chastising and worried over the pair of them; were they both okay? What was with all the rolling around? Treestar scurried out from under Tam', and out of the way of Aulus, as the rest of her pokémon settled around, too, looking a little apprehensive.
Tambrey stayed on the ground for a moment, catching her own breath; at least Aulus had remembered to shout 'kill switch'; in her panic, Tambrey suspected without that, she'd currently be being repeatedly shocked, shot at, and drenched, sometimes all at once. "Uh. Same." Tambrey sheepishly, and breathlessly, returned his apology, as she stared up at the ceiling for a moment. "Could we, uh," she licked her lips, finally sitting up "just give it a minute? I.. Well. Electricity. Wasn't... expecting it." She understated a little. "You okay?"
