      _________ Its pretty wet.

The gates stand tall while rain falls, it protects the shinobi and the civilians from the dangers of the country and beyond. The village is said to have never had a sunny day, it would be rarity for the village to experience sunlight. But the rain is calming.

She took a route that would sem dangerous to some, running along the edges of wet buildings, leaping to land on corners high above the ground like it was nothing. She only ever looked down to see where her path would take her next before abruptly, and haphazazardly throwing herself towards it. It was not long before she reached the gate, soaked from hair to toes. She wore no shoes, and had not donned anything to break the rainfall. Instead she simply embraced the weather as an old friend. She would wait a few seconds for the other two to catch up. This would be the last time she did that until they reached their destination.

The sounds of splash continuously echoed as Grey traveled from building to building. Every gap between buildings leaving grey un-bothered as he focused on what was in front of him. Each time he leaped, he felt he was traveling quicker than time itself at that second, Grey could imagine wings on his back as he traveled the airy road following Kya beneath the grey sky. Much like an eagle follows suit of its prey, Grey followed suit with intentions of keeping up with the kage, should he lose her that would mean mission over for him. He began thinking of where him and the female known as masako was being lead too, most importantly, what was the point of their traveling. Grey began spacing off before snapping back out of it. He's been getting lost in thought a lot lately, hopefully that doesn't interrupt anything important on that mission that could decide a vital future for gry and his comrade again known as Masako. At this moment, Grey's body began to alter as he was getting better adjusted and calming his nerves, now he was moving from building to building as if he was a gymnast. At one point he landed on his hand and pushed off of that building sending him to the next. He moved with such grace an flexibility you would think he dances professionally. That wasn't the case though, Grey had gotten very comfortable and now can move around with ease, given his surroundings. Reaching the Amekage, he would somersault onto the ground in front of Kya and kneel in front of her. "If i may ask, what is our objective of this travel?" He asked.

[Bloodline] - [CQC Masters] Just as with Samurai, years of training has honed the Walker's sense, slowing down CQC combat. This does not make the Walker faster in CQC, but instead slows time to 1/5 its normal speed, allowing them time to react to almost anything at close range.
[Bloodline] - [The Beauty in All Things] Due to an all but unmatched understanding of chakra and its usage, Walker's have learned to literally see chakra formations in everything from people to trees. It does not allow them to see things that would normally be hidden from sight like an Assassin, but instead is mainly to tell if a jutsu is being used, and what the jutsu is capable of.
[Bloodline] - [Balance] If a Walker finds himself relying to heavily on either Yin or Yang, he can even out the pools by adding them together and splitting them evenly.
[Bloodline] - [Way of the Fist] Walkers can utilize two taijutsu styles at a time. They both cost nothing as well. The Walker can also benefit from the stats of both.
[Bloodline] - [Ascension] Walkers have no soft cap, only the hard cap imposed by each rank.
[Bloodline] - [Elevated] Walkers, oddly enough, can hover off the ground and move like this. They cannot fly, but instead as stated, hover a few feet off the ground.
[Bloodline] - [This for That] The Walker can shift their own stats, moving 2 points from one stat to another. For example, if the Walker moves 1 point to speed, he loses 1 point of strength. This can be swapped in battle, but has a 2 post cooldown every time it is done.

As the pair jumped off towards the gate, she seemed to dissolve into dozens of flower petals and floated safely through the air, gracefully gliding behind the group. As they reached the gates, the petals slowly merged together, one by one, first forming a rough skeleton as more and more petals arrived to form a detailed body.

[TL;DR: Hi, how do you do?]

Some distance away from the group one of the random puddles on the ground where the sidewalks started began to bubble momentarily. Emerging up out of the puddle first as an expanding column of water it began to take on human shape. Only after about ten seconds of this did it take for Shuurin to stand before those that had gathered. "Reporting in," he said as he gave a brief salute to the Amekage and acknowledged the other two that had gathered there with a brief wave before his hands found his coat pockets again. The young Uchiha had stood at attention for a moment before relaxing his stance as he pulled up the hood of his jacket to avoid the rain. Despite just emerging from the puddle his clothes were still pretty dry considering. Using the hood as a half assed excuse to scan the gathered attendants he really hadn't much idea why they were gathered here. Just that he was a bit late getting to the office and someone had sent him here. Oh well, if I get sent home I can always find something else to do. It almost had the look of a private party or some sort. Shuurin hoped that it wasn't some kind of special soiree. Not that he felt apologetic for crashing it, just that it would of been a pain in the a** to deal with if it were. Shuurin had phased in just as guy started asking what it was that they were about. Someone else doesn't know what's going on? Scooore. he thought as he turned his attention to the haughty woman he was addressing. She looked like she was in a hurry to get somewhere. Always looked like that actually, now that Shuurin thought about it. Like she couldn't wait to move on to the next place. No matter, Shuurin decided this was their fearless leader. Shuurin then noticed the other female waiting with them. She seemed all flowery and things. He was a bit confundled as to their flying mechanism through a rain storm but hey she seemed like she had skill. Or at least was made of creepy flower petals. What did you call someone that was made of flower petals? It's not like they're robots or anything... Shrugging almost imperceptibly he turned his attention to all three now. Should he actually have a chance to follow them on this quest...adventure...mission....thing then he figured it could turn out to be an interesting experience. Chance to grow and all that literary nonsense about finding one's place in the world. He didn't buy it for a second but this was what he was here to do after all. He began trying to asses the individuals gathered and sort them mentally into his nifty mental folders of important information. Flower girl, Japanimation Man, and Footloose since she didn't have any shoes. Great, now these would stick in Shuurin's mind whenever he thought about them. Nicknames when he didn't know anyone else's real names almost always seemed to be a thing. Helped him sort stuff easier, he guessed. The Uchiha seemed to be pretty chill and at ease with the situation but this out in the open by the gates and with all the tension surrounding what it was that they were about he nonetheless maintained his guard. No sense being casual and sloppy. Better to be chill and prepared he figured. Maybe it was just the Uchiha blood in him wanting to see something happen. Wanderlust or something tugged at him from inside. But then again he was young which meant he was also probably stupid. Acknowledging his own inherent stupid Shuurin continued to wait for some indication of what they were all gathered to do.

As the two arrived she turned, pleased with their respective methods of locomotion, even if they both seemed a bit too... dainty. She would pat Grey on the head as she watched with intruige as petals of chakra formed into a dense mass, and then into a living being. Now thats good movement Masako. Same for you Grey. Remember what you both said about amegakure. I hope those words dont fall deaf on your ears, because what we are going to be doing is dangerous. Very, dangerous. As if decreed by the god of motion himself, a third genin appeared, another of her top notch suboordinates. The priestess of motion set her eyes about him, looking him over to gauge his chakra. Not too big a difference between him and Masako. He seemed to be cut from different cloths as well. The rinnegan made no mistakes in granting her true sight, her god had made sure of that much when he gave them to her. The Truth's bearer could see all, sometimes too much. She nodded to him and lifted her somewhat small hand from the head of grey to beckon him to come closer. When he did, she would touch his head, inevitably linking him to her with God's Demonstration in case she needed to. Now, he was apart of the mission as well.

Welcome Shuurin! Glad you showed up, as three is a perfect number to lead. Masako, Grey, this is Shuurin, genin of our home as well. Now, it has not been so long since the clan wars, and this village is still a fledgling. It can grow, become greater below the clouds and perhaps even rise to pierce them, but we have to ensure our future first, she said turning and motioning for her guards to open the gates. As you know, barbarians, such as my people and Kleine's, are still out there preying on the weak. It is to us to decide what is to happen to them. Weather we destroy them, or subjugate them and show them a better way, I do not know. But we MUST deal with them. Consider this your second lesson, Shuurin, late to class I suppose. All is motion. We are born knowing this, which is why we pop out of our parents screaming bloody murder and moving our tiny limbs about. She made one of her goudama, a black sphere of power, appear before her then, and she willed it to hover before them. But Why does the universe compel us to move? Well, the answer to that is answered in the direction that we go. she continued as a second ball appeared beside the first like a black hole. We all have desires. That is universally true. It is to us to move towards those desires, and not to run from them. Nagakabouros does not care for our wants, in truth, but only that we move towards them. In doing so, we effect the world around us, either destroying obstacles, building bridges over them, or working with them. Nagakabouros only wants movement. I preach here, to say this, and heed these words... She grasped at one of the goudama and crushed it within her hand. If you hate something, destroy it. She took the other one and grasped it, morphing it into her staff. If you want something, take it. It is that simple. Weather you succeed or fail is for another lesson, but even if you do not believe in gods, or care for my long winded, boring anecdotes, she laughed fully aware she could be boring the s**t out of them, Remember that at least, and take it at face value. No deep meanings. Just a simple proverb, testimony and message: All life is motion. Now, what I want now is a safer amegakure. Come now, we have a date with the barbarians to the south. she would say using her staff with her steps and compelling them to follow her out of the gates. Once they were all clear the large gates would close once more.

Grey was suprised that he had yet to feel cold due to the rain, as apart of being out inside it for so long, maybe his body has grown custom to it also. Maybe there is some context in that area, maybe if grey did feel constant coldness of the water pouring over him he didn't belong in the rain. But seeing as that's not the case then it should be his home, he belongs there without any signs of problem of removal. The pat on the head came sudden as masako had appeared, she complimented the two on there style of movement. Grey used careful and skilled acrobatics along the wet rooftops where any false move could result in an incident where the person slips and breaks their weak little neck along the roof or the ground below. Grey was different than those people, he could carefully plan out his movements before he does them and land like a cat with enhanced reflexes. As he questioned the Amekage on the location of where they were going, something bubbled behind him, reacting fast, Grey turned with insane speed until the amekage said something about who it was. It turns out he was a gennin. Now assured, he returned his focus on lady Kya as she explained the existence of barbarians that lived to destroy and kill travelers. It really didn't shock him when he heard that Kya's people were like that, neither did it shock him when he heard kleine. That actually just made him more interested in finding out who he was. This was turning a bit into a preachy thing and kind of made the young Buddhist feel a bit uncomfortable. Yet he still followed after her on what ever journey they were going on.

While the rest of the available warriors were away on their mission, Michio had been charged with guarding the village gates with the rest of the guards, should a bandit scouting group arrive. They'd been increasing the frequency of their attacks recently, and as a result, Kya had no choice but to bolster the defenses of the gates in order to keep her people safe. This increasing number of gate defenses had left her little room to bring people for advance parties, and may have been a part of why their mission was unsuccessful. It was necessary for more advanced warriors--like Michio--to guard the gate so that Kya was able to take as many soldiers as she could into these forays against the Barbarians. But who knows...with enough experience battling against them at the gates, perhaps Michio would one day be a valuable ally on the battlefield against them in their own homes?

While he waited for the Barbarian scouting party that was reportedly on their way, Michio sat, cross-legged on the ground in front of the gates, allowing his natural ability to detect energy do the surveillance heavy-lifting for him. He was gathering a particularly powerful form of energy to use against his enemies. A powerful congregation of earth release chakra, seeming to be more potent than the usual. Itsuwari--who was laying across his shoulders like a scarf--spoke to him in that wise voice, as per the norm. "Michio...remember not to gather too much chakra. You're still very new to that form...don't overdo it, okay?" The young man kept a straight face as he continued to focus, the chakra signatures of the Barbarians starting to come within his detection range. Apparently, the skirmish with Kya and the rest of her forces had thinned their numbers; only two weak chakra signatures were approaching him. Combined, the two of them possessed more chakra than him, but it seemed as though the absolute weakest forces of the Barbarians were all that particular encampment had to spare in the midst of battle. 'Nice work, Lady Amekage. The Village is safe for one more day.' He mused to himself in his head as a set of peculiar markings began to take shape on the surface of his skin. His skin would darken, with black lines looking like cracks appearing all over. His once grey eyes would turn a shocking crimson, with cat-like slits replacing his irises. When the Barbarian pair finally came upon him, his transformation had already been completed.

Naturally, they approached through the trees, using the lower branches for their security and lack of noise. This would have been an effective tactic during the war, when even a sensory shinobi's ability to detect chakra would be overwhelmed from the sheer amounts. But here? That tactic was useless. "You might as well reveal yourselves. You can't hide from me." As he spoke, a strange black dust would start to leak from the cracks in his body, a pair of ethereal coatl wings taking shape at his back. After being called out, the pair of Barbarians fell to the ground, their boots feeling particularly odd clunking against the metal floor below them. It was two versus one; knowing that there were only two opponents approaching, Michio had sent the rest of the gate patrols to the other three openings, making sure that they were fortified on all sides. "You're awfully confident, taking two of us on by yourself." But even as the words left his mouth, the Barbarian could feel it...the massive chakra mounting itself within the man before them. And that strange, black dust that seemed to be filling the area. They had to backpedal every so often in order to escape it, until a radius of thirty feet around Michio was almost completely covered in the stuff. Each time their boots clunked on the metal below them, it just felt...unsettling somehow.

"No, not confident. There's no need for confidence here. You're in my territory." As he spoke, a subtle hand motion from within the cloud would have a metal pole erupting from the ground. The pair were able to dodge it, owing that to their combat experience and reaction time. By the time they looked up to see the tendrils of black dust flying towards them, there was no time to manually reposition. Flying through seals, the pair of water style users spit out trails of water in front of them, quickly using the water wall technique to block the encroaching dust. With another movement of his hands, Michio flew the dust over the wall, using it in an aerial attack to slam the pair to the ground.

After their were back-down on the ground, a small metal pole would slam into the center of their spine, knocking the wind out of them in the middle of this cloud of dust. The two gasped for breath as they stood up, staggering out of the now retreating black cloud. Unfortunately, they'd been in the cloud long enough, gasping for air that only scratched at their lungs now. The water wall lowered, and they were back where they began; the dust was now retreating into Michio's body, bringing the young shinobi into their view once again. "You've both made a grave mistake today. Sending two men my age to attack the gates of a village? Why did you even listen to that order?" Michio already knew the answer to that question; a loyal soldier will follow their orders to the bitter end. It was a life he knew all too well. And it was why he'd be able to erase these two without remorse; it was a battle of orders versus orders. The stronger party would survive this engagement. "I guess it doesn't matter why you chose to come." In the middle of talking, Michio clenched his right fist. The wordless Barbarian would begin to suffocate, the metal shards in his lungs now constricting and slashing up his bronchial chords as they made their way up his throat. Eventually, they would tear their way out of the tubes, traveling through flesh and muscle until they had a solid grip of his entire neck. "What matters is that your lives are on the line now. Do you feel comfortable, knowing that those orders may very well have lead you to your deaths today?" He would let the now wounded Barbarian breathe his ragged breaths now that his bronchial tubes had been freed. He would then move on to the other man, making small cuts on the inside of his lungs with the metal, allowing just enough blood to leak according to his rough estimates. He would be allowed just enough time to reach the Barbarian camp and collapse in a pool of his own, regurgitated blood.

"I'm comfortable knowing that if I die, I'll die fighting for my home." The answer was sufficient for Michio. "A noble answer. However, I'm going to have to tell you now that your efforts were in vain today. Observe." Michio held out his palm to the Barbarian's ally, manipulating the metal dust that was now lodged in most every part of his throat to raise him from the ground, a very Darth Vader-esque display. "This battle was over the moment you stepped into my territory. And just like you, I am bound to my village and my duty. Now begone." With a clench and twist of his fist, the boy's neck cleanly snapped, audibly enough for his friend to hear. "Unless you want to be next, I suggest you--" Caught by his own inexperience. Horrified by the death of his friend, the other ninja had sent a rather sizeable Liquid Bullet technique at Michio while he was distracted with killing his friend. The blast knocked Michio back into the wall, and by the time he recovered from the blunt damage, the other barbarian was already gone, having taken his friend in tow in an attempt to save him. Unfortunately, the added stress meant that the boy might not make it back to his camp in the way that Michio had envisioned it, but it worked out at the end of the day.

It was just a shame that his negligence caused him to take such a powerful blow. If the Barbarian weren't so concerned with saving his friend--the folly of youth--Michio likely would have suffered much greater damage than just being knocked into the wall. Nevertheless, the scout's attack seemed to have been repelled, so Michio entered the gates, letting the patrols know that they needed to resume standard positioning. He would deliver a minor report to Kya when she returned, mission successful.

                                      [1450 x 25 = 36,250 Ryo. Two Genin-rank, inexperienced Barbarians = D-rank mission credit.]

Kya took her dragon high up into the air, far above any of the trees that awaited them. She would turn and look, waiting for Cecil to move on ahead. Once he was far enough she would take her dragon high up into the air and get moving.

VanZant walked in a very confused manner towards the gates, she adorned no village headband and had no chakra nor chakra networks. She looked very confused as she was staring at the gates to this village. Was this a giant barbarian camp that her father had fought at? Was this another village like their own? Was this a base military experiment type deal her father set up in secret to further expand outwards? That sounded like him. But she couldn't ever be sure and she was by no means going to be obvious about it. Walking up in her black tank and hoodie to the wall, she reached out a pale hand and graced it with her soft touch. It was so rough.

Who lived here? Was it barbarians? If so maybe she could talk to them and learn more about their culture. Wouldn't that be nice? It would be interesting to say the least. Her athletic figure stood at a meek five five while only boasting a weight of one hundred and nineteen pounds yet. Her bright blue eyes adorned a flower like pattern with a cyan pupil instead of the normal black. She was wondering now if this place had been abandoned.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Who lived here? Who indeed. Well, before long, VanZant will see one of the residents strolling casually out of the surrounding forests and towards the gates, a basket full of various plant samples in her hands.

There wasn't supposed to be a chakra signature at the gates beyond the usual guards. Hana wasn't expecting someone to be standing right in front of the entrance, staring up in confusion. She stopped in her tracks mid-yawn when she saw the chakra-less Van, rightfully surprised. "Oh?" she asked, her eyes wide. Even through her surprise at the complete lack of chakra in this person, she was tracing out all the details and information she could find. Her vision traced over the strange floating balls and the strangely patterned, cyan eyes. Moreover, they caught the confusion Van's own posture held, the confusion and questions.

The first actual words out of Hana's mouth were, "Good afternoon." Shock could still be seen on her easily read face, but she was also smiling in her usual amiable manner. Out of concern, she asked, "This seems to be your first time here. Is there anything I can help you with?".
