So. Prank wars. It was a thing here in Amity! Ruth knew there were so many reasons to have enrolled here but this. Yes. This. Glorious and wonderful and with mentors and... unfortunately something she could not partake in as this persona! She would have to go against strict instructions from her Superiors and she could not quite shake off the need to obey.
Ruth wanted to rip her hair out in frustration. She settled for trashing her room. And promptly cleaning up five minutes after because training kicked in. But as she started tidying up, a thought struck her. The Shrinking Violet when backed into a corner would undoubtedly fight back. Perhaps... she grinned as a plan formed.
Later, outside the Reaper dorm, Ruth can be seen drenched in gray (water-soluble) paint. She may have been crying.

Prank wars would have been a glorious week back home. Back home. but here it seemed to include water balloons and all other kinds of mayhem that just didn't sit well with Andrew. Besides, his favorite target, coughMolancough seemed to have made himself scarce with the summer heat. Flying often allowed him to Avoid stray water balloons, though he had not totally managed to escape being the victim of the pranks. He had to admit the firecrackers going off at 4 am in the demon dorms was a good one despite not getting any sleep last night. He had wisely hidden away and stayed in his room. On this particular flight he almost completely over looked the grey spot. but upon seeing that it was a victim he decided he might fly a little closer to just... admire someone else's handy work. Then he saw who it was. Flying past her he landed and doubled back on foot. "Blondie?" He stepped closer but still kept a good distance of at least 5 feet. no way was he letting something potentially wet touching him. Nope nope nope. "What happened? Did someone prank you?" He scowled to himself. No one pranked his minion and got away with it. (ok maybe it was just a good excuse to have a target considering his prim one seemed to have up and vanished.)

Blondie made an attempt to deny the fire demon's accusation, shaking her head vehemently in spite of the dripping paint. She made sure not to shake her head too hard, lest some drops got near him. (Ruth remembered his violent reaction to liquid too well to want to jeopardize her plans.)
The reaper swiped at her eyes behind her bangs, she was wiping at the paint rather than her tears. She pulled her soaked knitted cap off, wringing it out as best as she could. Gray paint pooled at her feet.
She stood up to greet him. The small smile she gave him was visibly forced, her lower lip quivering as she forced a brave face. And idly tried to block the fresh footprints of paint that detailed the path she took.

Andrew shuddered when the pain just pooled at her feet and moved away a little further. Better safe than sorry. He wasn't picky about the coloring getting on him but most paint was water based and those that were oil bade had a small tendency to go up in flames. "Oh so you are telling me that you just got the paint on you all by yourself?" he did not believe her for a second. He had well seen the tots tent. "Blondie...... ugh let's get you cleaned up and then you can tell me the truth." he just couldn't focus with that much potential death right there. Er... liquid. huni pi We can do a little scene skip.

Ruth had to be told twice before she finally went in and changed, but it was deemed necessary by the Violet. Partly out of the prerequisite "guilt" and because it was just fun to see the flame demon's aversion to anything liquid. Ruth was glad the paint was water-soluble, it meant she didn't have to wash for long. Her clothes, however, might need more work.
Once clean and fresh and most importantly dry, she met Andrew at the Reaper Dorms' common room. Her approach was silent and she maintained it even as she sat down on a ratty old armchair beside the couch. She kept her gaze down, hands on her lap, fiddling with her long skirt (which looked near identical to the one she usually wore). It seemed she was embarrassed that Andrew found her in her earlier state.

He had to insist she get cleaned up. It was probably better for the ghoul to be clean. He waited patiently fallowing the ghoul inside. He took care not to burn anything, though there was a glance specifically to look out for Mai. He didn't see any butterflies so he must be safe. No need to have Mai yell at him for hanging out with another person. Really. When Blondie came out he looked her over. "Do you have any other cloths? Nevermind." he shook his head. Really. He had never seen her in anything else, (except the maid's outfit but that didn't count). "Now this is unacceptable. I know you have more spirit in you than just in fighting." he put his hands on his hips and stared her down for a long moment. He just couldn't leave his minion to fend for herself. "We need to get revenge. It seems I need to teach you a very important skill."

Blondie's body language was screaming how what Andrew was proposing was a very very very bad idea. She was pressing herself flat against the upholstery of the armchair, as if she could somehow emboss herself onto it and pretend she wasn't there. Which really didn't work given the stark contrast of her drab, gray attire in comparison to the rather colorful patchwork quality of the chair.
She shook her head, mouth parted in silent dismay. But it didn't really take much for Andrew to convince Ruth to go along. Probably that was why she brought out her skellular phone, typing out her thoughts in a draft message.
I don't want to you to become a target too! She seemed to be very concerned for the flame demon.

Blondie's dismay was very evident. Andrew watched her try to vanish right into the chair she was in with an amused look on his face. He had no idea he already had Ruth on board when he read the text message. And then he threw his head back and laughed. "Me a target?" his tail burned up high for a moment a small flare of fire leaving the rest as he laughed long an hard for a good minute. "Blondie, I don't think you understand. But that's ok. Don't worry about me becoming a target. Now that you have that thing out. Tell me who did this to you." he leaned in staring her in the eye with a small smile on his face. He was so going to enjoy this.

Blondie would have leaned back further, but the headrest was in the way, forcing her to remain in the stare down. Sort of. Her bangs still obscured her eyes, but she radiated unease and trepidation. (While inwardly Ruth was patting her back on how amazing an actress she was.)
Eventually she admitted defeat in the face of Andrew, and began to type a response. This part was all Ruth, the Shrinking Violet had no issue with any student if the persona didn't count Ruth herself.
I do not know exactly. But when I was able to get the paint out of my eyes, I saw a Monster ghoul laughing nearby. White skin. Rainbow-colored wings. Red hair. Do you think she is a viable suspect?

Andrew was pretty good at reading body poster though with here eyes obscured it made the game of charades a little harder. Andrew would have to move that hair one of these days. But today was not that day. "Viable suspect?" He swayed his tail looking a bit more excited than he should. The way that was phrased struck him as odd. Clearly Blondie didn't know who the actual culprit was but this target would do. Close enough. Still there was that itch that something was off here. "Close enough. We know she was laughing at you. Do you know who she was or really, where she lives? We are going to get a little revenge on her." he was grinning. This monster ghoul wouldn't know what hit her.

Ruth's fingers tapped away at her skellularphone, I believe the Monster Dorms would be a good place to start? She had no qualms about sounding hesitant, Blondie fit the description to a T and since there was no opponent, or at least there wasn't one literally in front of her, she could not rally her fighting spirit.
It was a good thing for Ruth that Andrew was here. Inwardly she grinned as she eyed the brilliant flame on his tail behind the fringes of her bangs. Oh yes, definitely a good thing that she had Andrew to help her.
Have you formulated a plan?

Andrew did bother to read her phone, looking at it long enough during his strides. He paused thinking. "Well you weren't hurt or anything and the paint washed off you just fine so something harmless, but also a pain to clean up..." he pulled back rubbing his hands together. "How about we will her room with balloons. Just like a s**t ton of balloons... full of glitter, so she can't get to her bed or anything." he looked at Blondie searching for possible approval. Or possible searching for a rejection which he would override anyways, because this sounded fun.

Both Ruth and Blondie cringed. That was indeed a horrible prank. They both loved it. She gave the fire demon a hesitant smile before showing him her response The glitter would be adequate retribution. And it would be appropriate _harmless fun_ in the event she is innocent. And yes, she did indeed place underscores. She wasn't aware of the proper function to make text italicized on her phone.
When he rose from the seat, she mirrored him, trailing after him silently like a second shadow. She allowed a small, mischievous smile to dance on her lips, one that was more Ruth than Blondie.

Honestly it took a bit of leg work. Normally Andrew did not have pranking supplies on hand. so he did have to go get them and since his shadows couldn't fly, they walked. Then there was the checking and bribing of gnomes to get the right room and to know she was out. And then there was the checking the lock. If the door was locked Andrew picked it open. The student dorm doors were generally pretty easy to shimmy open with a bit of trial and error and a paperclip. After that it was a lot of trying balloons. After shoving glitter into them. it might have been a bit of messy work but it was well worth it. One thing Andrew made sure they got was a small air pump. Because blowing into 30 hundred balloons was just not happening. Soon they started filling the targeted dorm to the brim with Balloons of all sizes. Some were pumpkin shaped while others were the long animal balloons, but they weren't even tied into animals. Others were really water balloons and yet more were really happy Halloween balloons. "Just shove them in." he carefully kept his tail out of the way, it was too late for one balloon which quickly overheated and popped. "Oh Jack." huni pi We can quote in our victim now.

Ruth did all she could to assist in the prank. Though mostly it involved following Andrew's lead and letting him do the heavy thinking while she aided in the lifting and stuffing and tying. She also served as the lookout, making use of skellularphones and the vibrate option in case they risked getting caught. Somehow they managed to stuff the colorful monster ghoul's room full of balloons without anyone noticing. Now it was all a matter of getting out of there and waiting for the prank to happen.
She had, of course, taken lots of notes during the preparation.Beejoux I am so sorry this took forever x.x
