I'm lazy and I've probably retyped these thing hundreds of times
I think my recent one is pretty legit, one thing though that is commonly mentioned is a book.
It looked pretty average but was linked to another dimension and could alter anything about it upon just writing it in the book. The man who owned it used this book to write his notes for a game he was making, the worst being hit by these written alterations were the "main characters" of the game he was planning, who were chosen solely because they were the closest match to the base description of the man's characters.
I guess it's a story of it's own that preceded this event.
(before anything else the name of the friend is Naomi Chambers)

He's the self appointed leader of his team and the first affected by the book.
Major's not really much for giving orders but prefers a democracy way of conducting business.
Despite his powers over fire and earth he's hard to anger and is more interested in buddying up rather than beating someone down which is what he's more than capable of doing.
Major's a shapeshifter and his alternate form somewhat resembles that of a Fu Dog, he has more control of himself than the others but it's not that much.

Van was around the second affected by the book, and didn't actually mind the change except for the fact that there were probably more downsides than he'd like to realize. His new powers over electricity with the added bonus of dealing toxins, getting used to both stimulants messing with nerve and the chemical balances in his brain has been a bumpy ride.
He has enough energy to compete a elementary school full of children with a sugar rush and with also being an Chimera shifter his animal instincts can come into play.
If it wasn't for his companion spirit keeping him in check there would just be another power crazy lunatic in their already chaotic world.
On his "down" days Van's still fairly talkative, he's not a fan of strangers but the few people he let's in his life he's extremely loyal to.He can be very vulgar but means well in the long run, he enjoys joking around and making people laugh.

he was a shapeshifter like his undiscovered "pack mates". He could turn into a raptor/hornet hybrid and had the ability to command swarms of stinging insects though he wasn't too clear on if he had gotten said abilities from his demon captors that raised him to kill his father or the scientist that allegedly experimented on him as the in game story states. It goes without saying if the short man knew the game creator who rewrote his life story he'd probably ask for some of what he/she'd been smoking.
He's a fighter like the rest of this gang of misfits but being that he is a paramedic he was purposed to be more on the healer side
though he doesn't have healing powers himself he uses a defibrillator that was enchanted to be a cure all and also one of his weapons when changed to an alternate setting.

he was an ex navy seal who was ready to settle down and with his fiance and her young daughter and have the family he's always wanted. However this wasn't included in the game creators plans his written changes overwrote a majority of Hurricane's life so he was basically left "alone" with last job as a firefighter/emt and a group of others like him and an aggressive companion spirit that isn't a stranger to possessing him to get what it wants.
Hurricane has power over water and uses his psychic abilities to manipulate air, he's also able to shapeshift into a creature that closely resembles his companion spirit.
Losing your future family is something hard to forget and his current situation isn't better off so Cane's rather quiet and keeps to himself. He almost never seen angry (his spirit is a different story) but he's serious and exact in everything he does. Over the years Hurricane is closer to come to terms that it's best to forget the past so he's a little more open to interact with others if someone is trying to help and befriend him but he's only reluctant due to companion spirit Emerson who has a tendency to snap at strangers.

Hemsi is an alien shapeshifter that comes from a race that tends to resemble man made machines, a long time resident of earth,
currently works as an ambulance and an paramedic and the four's transport, but mostly ambulance since imitating a human form completely is hard and her services for the guys isn't always needed when 3 of them can fly.
She surprises easily, flashes lights and blares sirens when scared or upset.
Hemsi Is fairly mischievous in her "vehicle" form.She was more or less a joke character that made the final cut in the game.

Indira or "Biohazard" is an alien from a distant plant that has influence over viruses and radiation which she can use in various ways. She is allegedly boss/trouble maker in the game though most of the mini bosses caused a majority of the grief. she was actually quite familiar with the group when she was younger and in a way knows everyone's strengths and weaknesses, however when her powers fully developed she became obsessed with making mutants like her and went on a self assigned quest to make the residents of the city "beautiful" in her twisted way, though world domination was also an idea since it was fairly easy for her to take over the city with her numerous mutant slaves.
