UPDATE
I'm putting this here as well as in the comments so that it will be more noticed. Someone decided to run through the terms and what their legit meanings were and put them in simpler terms to help us understand them. And they also stated the parameters of each of the new terms, what the Tumblr staff means when they say it, and the reasons why each term exists. You can see it all in the link below.
http://www.isfanficlegal.com/post/74649408697/dont-let-misinterpretations-of-the-proposed =============================================================================================================== So apparently Tumblr's staff said that they're going to, on February 9 2015, change their rules and policies so that they can sell anything that is posted and not copywritten. That includes artwork, stories, poetry, music, etc. etc. There is a petition you can sign to tell the staff not to make this a thing. The link to the post below explains the new terms and conditions better, and it has the link at the bottom to the petition that you can sign. Even if this isn't legit, all fellow artists, writers, poets, musicians, etc., should know how frightening this is. So please, for the sake of protection against all works, please sign this petition. Scroll to the bottom of the post and there will be a petition

Holy cow, that is just wrong! It had better not be so, otherwise they'd have a lawsuit on their hands for illegal copyright infringement as well as theft of others' property without their consent! Not cool!

UPDATE
People have clarified the entire situation down in the link below. They explained how this works, what's true and what isn't true, and the parameters of it all.

Scroll to the bottom of the post and there will be a petitionThat's about as messed up as if Facebook tried to sell/market clever statuses and poignant user notes for themselves. More and more the internet is turning out not to be the safe place we think it is...user privacy seems to matter less and less everyday. Given its great potential for good, I guess its only natural that someone exploits it for bad/selfishness. :l This is absolutely disgusting.

But apparently, that tumblr post got it wrong? and there is an updated thing in the comments that someone decided to post where they went through the meaning of the terms and what the parameters of this whole thing are.
