Cafeteria

A girl walked into the cafeteria silently walking past everyone. She stopped at the counter and started to jump.
"Common...its so high!"

Jax chuckled watching the girl. He snapped his fingers.
"Yo Eric, give the girl a hand. She looks too young to be here. "

Eric sighed.
"Fine, but you carry Liya to the infirmary."

"Whatever." Jax said pulling Liya into his arms.

Eric walked up to the girl.
"Hey. Need some help?"

The girl looked up at Eric and blinked.
"Um..." she began to back up.

"Hey, what's wrong. I won't hurt you."

The girl continued to back up until she was stuck against a table.

"Jax, don't scare her off." Eric whispered.

"Come here you little twerp." Jax reached out grabbing the girl's arm.

The girl immediately grabbed Jax's arm digging her fingers into his arm.
"Let go!" she said as light started to come off of her.

Jax recoiled his arm wincing.
"s**t! What the hell girl!"

"Hey, those are light burns." Eric said then looked at the girl, looking straight to her eyes.
"Kalena?"

The girl immediately ran off.

Eric moved his hand blocking all exits.
"Hey! Calm down! You know me!"
He then turned to Jax
"You scared her!"

"What? Im scary!"

She sighed,
"its Kal now. I know you but my....dreams....tell me stuff. Im sorry, im just...hungry."

"Alright. Try to catch this." Eric threw a meatball at Liya

Liya caught in her hand and then put in her mouth
"Yum!"

"Hey! That's not how you play!" Eric laughed

Kelina carried Kal on her back.

"This is so fun!" Kal laughs.


Eric and Liya looked at Kelina carrying Kal.
"well....that's something you don't see all the time."

"Hey there! Are you alright, Kal?" Liya asked

"A....little bit. I needed some....time to think."

"I found her in the hall of headmasters."

Eric looked shocked, then he sighed.
"So....are you alright now?"

"its....really confusing. Dreams...." Kal said while hugging Kelina's head.
"im hungry."

Kelina grabbed some food that Kal pointed out.

"Won't Jaster get jealous?"

"Jaster….." Kal looked down, but when she was put down to eat, she started to eat rather quickly.
"is cool"

Kal ate happily but rather quickly.

"Slow down Kal! Your gonna get a stomach ache at that speed!" Kelina warned.

Kal stopped and looked at Eric and Liya.
"Is that true?"

Liya nodded
"Yeah, plus, save room for desert! You gotta have desert!" Liya smiled happily.

Eric facepalmed. He wasn't sure how Kal would react to sweets. He knew Kalena would barely touch them. Yet Kal was a new story waiting to be written.

"Kal?" Eric's voice seemed uncertain even to ask this, but he needed to know.
"How.....how much do you remember? Of your past."

Kal sighed putting the fork down.
"I....remember some, but most of what you call....past...I don't know. I was on Traverse Town when I met Wraith and Misty. I guess he didn't really know how to deal with me....being a kid." Kal seemed sad now.

"Well...what about your dreams?"

"yeah, you knew my name before I even told it. How did you know?"

"Dreams....ghosts....did I really have red hair?"

"Yeah, you did. Please, don't be sad. You have a family."

"Fam....ily?"

"Yeah! Us! We're your family!" Kelina said cheerfully.
"And your family will get bigger. There are many of us that has known you for a long time,"

Kal whimpered and held her head.
"It hurts. It hurts!"

Liya immediately ran over the table and hugged Kal.
"Its ok. Just rest."

She then looked up at everyone else, she seemed worried and panicked.

Eric looked to Kelina.
"What are we gonna do? Just trying to remember hurts her. I...I don't really get it. Plus....the war.." he whispered the last words.

Kelina sighed and whispered.
"I guess we gotta face facts. She's not coming back. This Kalena needs to learn and grow, but I don't think we can face Nema. Not like this. She needs to be hidden away."

Eric looked down.
"Man....."

Kelina gripped Eric's shoulder and hid her face. she was crying silently.
"I know."

Kal began to eat again.

Liya watched as Eric and Kelina tried to console each other in their grief. She hated seeing them cry. Kelina wasn't always nice but she was there if they needed her. Eric...she really hated seeing him cry.

She shook her head and left Kal's side and walked up to Kelina and Eric and started to whisper.
"Can't we leave her at your sister's for a while? I'm sure Rose and Kalen wouldn't mind watching her for a while."

Kelina sighed and looked at Liya then at Eric.
"That....could give us enough time to get the stuff needed to train her. Might have to get DK in on this too."

Eric nodded.
"That's an idea. Who else better to train Kal than herself? But....that might be a bit...troublesome. DK only came back because of Kalena's….disappearance."

"Well then that's settled them isn't it?!" Liya said cheerfully.
"I'll go get DK!" she giggled starting to leave.

Kelina rubbed her face then grabbed Liya's shoulder
"You? Go alone? I think not. ITs best if you stay with her. Your not....grieving...like we are. Eric, i'd like you to stay too. "

Eric nodded.

Kelina left the room.

Kalena was watching, yet no one could see her, as she was a ghost.
"They aren't understanding Kal at all!" She groaned rubbing her face.
"Eric! Your the closest person who should be able to understand her! You trained yourself! Grrr WHY CAN'T YOU HEAR ME!" Kalena yelled right into Eric's ear.


Kalena whined and held her knees as she floated in the air.
"Please...let someone hear me..." she whined, trying really hard not to cry.

Kal finished eating and looked around.

Eric was kneeling behind Liya and holding her arm softly
"Now, summon your keyblade like this. Focus on the happiness in your heart."

Liya breathed deeply, although she was slightly blushing too. Her keyblade appeared in her hand.



Kal watched in awe.
"What's that?" she asked.

Eric looked up at Kal and blinked. How could she have forgotten about her keyblade? He sighed softly and smiled.
"It is a keyblade. Only those with strong enough hearts can wield one."

"Will I ever get one?" Kal asked.

"Mabye one day perhaps. Its not a weapon I can just give you." Eric smiled and let go of Liya's arm.

Liya immediately grasped with two hands. The keyblade was still heavy for her to use with just one hand.

Kalena watched silently now. She knew she had no chance of helping out. She felt exhausted after shouting.
"Your doing great, Liya. Starlight and you are great companions. Just keep growing, your heart will give you more strength the longer you are able to wield." she thought to herself, knowing she wasn't going to be heard.

Eric watched as Liya was showing Kal some basic defensive moves.
"Come on girls. Lets go somewhere else."

Liya looked up at Eric.
"Alright" she smiled and immediately climbed on Eric and sat on his shoulder.

Kal bit her lip.
"Uh....o...ok..."

Eric gave a warm smile and took Kal's arm and lifted her up onto his other shoulder and started to walk, headed outside the academy.
