OVERVIEW:
It all begins with them.. In both villages, Shinobi have been noticing small, silhouetted figures appearing in and out of sight. Some more than others, as though they're being haunted by these ghastly images. The situation hadn't been progressing until recently; no one had died yet. Until two weeks ago, when a woman's body was found horridly maimed and left hanging above the Mizukage's office. There were--however--some peculiar signs on this woman. Her body was completely charred black, her eyes gouged out, and all of her internal organs removed. Katon is the prominent element of choice in the Leaf Village, and the Hokage is an Uchiha. Most of the Mist Village's advisers believe that this was a calculated attack on one of the village's few Uchiha survivors in Yumi's attempt to accumulate additional power.
But on the other side of the coin, a Fire Country resident was found drowned in the river, terrible flesh burns peeling off a large majority of his skin. Though he was a clay hands user, his limbs weren't found. The suicide plating on his chest was removed, as were all of his internal organs, similarly to the first victim. The acidic damage was reported to be a specialization of the Terumi bloodline, found exclusively in the Mist Village.
Although their existence is well-recognized and well-reported, the officials of each village seem more concerned with pointing fingers at each other than they are the third party. At this rate, the shinobi world will spiral into unending conflict until the lives of all combatants are claimed.
In the streets, chaos reigns. Normal humans have been corrupted by the dark figures, rioting in the streets, sacrificing their friends and family to the dark spirits that now seem to manipulate them. For lower-level shinobi like Genin and Chuunin, walking the streets has now become a hazard; the village's citizens will attack any Shinobi on sight, without reason or restraint. All attempts to calm these wild attackers thus far has failed.
Whatever these silhouettes are...they carry extreme power. And if you should run into one, I have only a small bit of advice for you; run.
NOTE: All currently existing characters are allowed to auto-know the information relevant to their village; meaning that Mist ninja are allowed to auto-learn the details of the woman's death, etc. Tensions are high between the two villages; make sure you play it that way.

For the duration of the mini arc, all missions reward DOUBLE RYO. This applies for already-made missions or freelance missions. So get posting, nuggets. And if it's got something to do with those black silhouettes moving around everywhere--like an investigation on them--quote me in your posts; I'll get you a nice surprise. Success on that kind of mission will grant even better rewards until the mystery of the silhouettes is solved. Good hunting, nugs.
