"Mhmpf..." Delaney mumbled into her pillow, turning over in her sleep and expertly whacking the snooze button on her alarm clock, giving her a precious 5 more minutes of sleep. 5am just came around far too early. Rolling onto her back, she let out a loud sigh, rubbing her eyes groggily. It had been yet another dreamless night. It had been exactly 4 days now since the dreams had stopped and Delaney couldn't help but feel hopelessly empty without them. She was a realist and would always be a realist, but the fantasy world of her dreams was always such a lovely escape from her hectic everyday life. Now she had nothing but a deep pit of blackness that filled her head every night. It was a rather unsettling feeling to have her only time of wonderment and fantasy taken away from her. And she had no idea how to get it back.

She was ripped from her thoughts when the alarm clock went off again and she exclaimed grumpily,
"I'm up, I'm up! Shut up!" Sitting up in bed, she picked up the alarm and turned it off, swinging her feet over the bed and mentally going over her checklist for that day in her head. Alright, personal yoga practice for an hour now, in the shower by 6, ready to leave by 7:30, classes from 8 to 12, lunch break and tutor session 12 to 1, classes 1 to 4, then teaching a yoga class from 4 to 6, then grab dinner, then hit the library until like.. 9 or 10. Perfect. In bed by 11. she thought, attempting to run her fingers through her messy bed head in the process. Eventually giving up on taming her unruly morning locks, she threw her hair in a bun and unrolled her yoga mat, working on some of her favorite poses that really helped her open up and relax. It was her favorite way to start the day, washing away any stress before it even had the chance to affect her. It was probably the reason why she was always so on top of everything and the reason she was rarely ever stressed. It was also an amazing way to clear her mind and stop thinking about why the dreams had stopped and how she could get them back - at least for an hour.

After she was finishing practicing yoga, she went about the rest of her morning routine in her little one person apartment. She showered, made tea and toast for breakfast, and got herself ready for the day. Since she attended university in Stanford, California, she never had to worry much about the cold or what she wore, since the weather remained pretty consistent. It was winter in Cali however, which meant she could get away with fall fashion - her favorite of all. She slipped on a pair of dark wash jeans and a pretty blue 3/4 sleeve dolman top to match her eyes, finishing the look with a perfect brown pair of booties. Once satisfied with her look and happy and full from breakfast, she packed her backpack with everything she would need for her classes as well as a lunch and an apple to help her make it through the day. She was in her junior year at Stanford and working towards being able to be a doctor one day, so she was very well prepared, organized, and health conscious.

Once everything was ready to go, Delaney grabbed her keys and swung her backpack over her shoulders, stepping out the door to her apartment right at 7:30. She walked leisurely to class, enjoying the crisp morning air and how she felt after a nice relaxing morning. Mornings were always her favorite time of day and the time that she felt most at peace. The only thing that had been putting a slight damper on them lately was the lack of her dreams. She pondered this, how they had left her, how dreams of this fantasy place had always been the only dreams she'd ever had, and if she'd ever dream again. The walk to campus ended quickly with these thoughts filling her head and soon enough she found herself in her first class, being forced to focus solely on the professor and push those thoughts from her mind. Thankfully she took great interest in every class she'd ever taken here, making this one no exception. It made pushing the questions of her dreams to the back-burner a whole lot easier.

Ferox hadn't slept an ounce since he'd left his home. It wasn't anxiety that was keeping him up though, it was his task to track down a little girl who was sent here only a decade ago. The issue was, he didn't know if the girl was still alive even. Compared to Alacritas, Earth was a dying planet full of suffering people. In his mind, he had no idea why they would have sent the only real heir to the throne to a place where she was just as likely killed as maybe fine peace. That was something Ferox just didn't believe in happening.

He shifted in the tree he was sprawled out in to get more comfortable, but he heard the woman he'd been tailing wake. He'd been following her for a few moon cycles out of curiosity more than anything. He knew her not to be the princess as she was far too mature. The princess should have been still obsessing over the pegusi, not picking out push up bras and wearing pants that hugged her like that - not that he was complaining or anything, but it certainly wasn't something he thought of the princess wearing. Then again, this might not even be the princess, this just might be him bored. This Delaney had the most promise though. She had the same aura as the princess, same powers, and there couldn't be too many people with the same powers as the caelums. It just added too much in favor it it might being her for him to pass her up simply because she was much older than he expected her to be.

Still, it was better than guarding a throne with the wrong person in it.

He impatiently waited her to finish her usual routine before heading out to campus finally. He dropped out of his perch and folded his wings back into his body, grimacing at the sensation as he could feel his whole body tense at the unnatural sensation of being without his wings. "Just a little bit longer, then we'll be home and I can stretch out as much as I want to," he muttered to himself as he followed behind Delaney to the first class of the day. Again, he took his post in a seat where she was in view and got comfortable because this was going to be a long, boring lecture. Granted, when he paid attention he was less bored, but he'd already heard this lecture before. He had already been through roughly a hundred years of schooling and this was something he covered when he was just barely being able to fly. But, he was the one who decided to go on this personal mission in the middle of war so he might as well get use to it.

With the lecture finally over, he climbed out of his chair, but he was stopped again by some girl being overfilled with the desire to mate with him. Another lesson he learned: His species had some kind of natural aphrodisiac on the human species. "Look doll, I'm kinda busy doing stuff right now. Maybe later," he told her with the kindest smile he could manage.

"Please? Just coffee?" the blonde asked, batting her mascara covered lashes at him. "We can discuss where we go after while we have some java..."

"You're a gorgeous girl okay? There is no need for you to be coming at me so aggressively. I'm sure you could find another stud for your needs," he told her with a soft smile, but the moment she contemplated the thought, he darted away to catch back up with Delaney. If the woman hadn't been like clockwork so much, he might have lost her due to another female throwing herself at him. Within a few strides, he found her again though and mixed back into the crowd the best he could.

Though he'd gotten better at it, he still felt like he was wearing neon colors in a sea of grays, there was just no way he was ever going to hide what he was from everyone. Even with the wings gone, he had a kind of echo about him that left it hard to hide. Ferox did his best though to be a human and remain undetected by his target until he was sure.

Delaney scribbled down notes diligently as the class progressed, taking in everything the professor said like a sponge. Her hand seemed to shoot up every ten minutes or so and she tossed out a question that even stumped the professor once or twice. It was obvious that people were in awe of her immense knowledge and ability to comprehend such difficult topics, but Delaney was completely unaware of just how smart she was. She was just so curious and wanted to know everything. Her questions just mimicked her thoughts and although they seemed well posed and thought out, she was really just blurting out what came to mind. The professors enjoyed the challenge however and the other students seemed to be learning more by taking notes based on the questions Delaney posed rather than just listening to the lecture. It was because she knew what she was talking about that no one got irritated by her constant questioning, but rather paid vigorous attention.

Delaney made her way to a picnic table that was situated more or less in the middle of campus next, taking a seat and pulling out her lunch. The picnic table was surrounded by a large grassy area and many other tables where students sat to enjoy their lunches. Delaney loved this place because everyone always seemed happy here, enjoying their time outside. Just as she finished unpacking her lunch and arranging it in just the right way on the table in front of her, her tutee, a freshman girl named Abby, showed up, sitting down exasperatedly across from Delaney.
"Everything alright, Abs?" Delaney asked, taking a bite of her apple and watching the tired looking girl carefully. "Laney. I think I failed my biology test. I know. I know. Please don't give me that look. I studied all night, but I just got nervous when I got the test and there were too many other noises and I just forgot it. I forgot it all.' the girl said, thumping her elbow down on the table and smacking her hand to her forehead. This girl had kind of become like a little sister to Delaney, hence the nicknames, and she hated seeing her struggle so much. "Have you thought about asking to take the test in a different room? It could just be anxiety around all those other people, plus being easily distracted by the little noises?" Delaney suggested, pushing the hair away from her face and taking another bite of her apple.

The two went back and forth like this for a while, talking about why Abby might be having trouble and what they could do about it. By the time they both finished eating their lunches, they had about twenty minutes left before their next classes and decided to take a walk to the tutor center to see what they could do to fix Abby's problem. 15 minutes and some easy paperwork later, Abby would be taking her tests in a separate room from then on, which would hopefully increase her focus and decrease her test taking anxiety. After giving Delaney some pointers she had written up for Abby's homework aid and preparation for her next test, the two parted ways. Delaney then headed to her next class, walking leisurely as always, since she was right on schedule.. as always.

Her next 2 classes passed quickly, going relatively the same way they always did, and it was finally 4. Yoga was probably Delaney's favorite part of the day and she really wished that she had the ability to teach classes more than twice a week. The university had other instructors however and only a few available time slots. Delaney's class was one of the favorited though, despite the fact that she only allowed a small number of people in at a time. She felt that it made the class more personal and productive. Once arriving at the gym, she dropped off she supplies for the day in her locker and changed into her tight fitting 3/4 length leggings and a loose, flowy tank. She tied her hair back in a simple bun and grabbed her water bottle, making her way to the large room that her class took place in. There already seemed to be a line outside of her door, but she called out
"You guys know the rule. First 20 in, the rest of you will have to get here earlier next time. Sorry guys! As for the first 20, make sure you grab yourself a mat and 2 foam blocks and a chair today. Start with our normal fifteen minute warm up routine." She grinned a bit to herself as the heads spun around and the fingers pointed, trying to figure out who the cut off would be at. Shaking her head gently, she made her way into the room, laying out her own yoga mat, blocks, and water bottle up front. She then turned on the radio to a calming music while everyone took their places. She sat up front and watched as everyone filed into the room, keeping her eyes out for any newcomers that might need her help.

Ferox trudged after Delaney all day long. By the time he was able to eat something, his whole body hurt, he was starving, and in a bad mood. Any chick that got near him got a far colder shoulder than the one in the morning seminar. He did perk up a bit once he was finally able to eat some food - of course it was through mind tricks though. Since he didn't have a job, he had no way of having money from Earth, let alone American cash. So, he pulled out a plain playing card, flashed it across the register's scanner and it registered as a master card to both the machine and the man running the shop. For the millionth time, Ferox stole himself some food and settled down across the court yard to watch his subject with her friend with more boredom on his face. If it wasn't for the salted pretzel, he might have thrown a table.

After a very, very long day of being achy though, he finally reached the part where he could unfurl his wings as it was already getting dark enough that he could hide out in the trees without too many questions. However, after seeing Delaney stretch out that morning, he was pretty peaked at the idea of participating in what she loved to do so much. If pulling yourself around was fun enough that she did it every morning, it had to be good to do when he was this achy.

Once again, using his magic he slipped into the class, changing clothes as he passed through a door way. He left the mirage of jeans and a leather coat behind for sweatpants, and a black tank top. Cutting in line, he slipped in before one of the regulars who flipped him off when Delaney stopped her and Ferox just stuck his tongue out at her as any mature adult would do.

Once in the room, he grabbed a red mat, a few foam blocks in one hand, and heaved the chair so he was caring it over his shoulder behind him. When he had everything, he set it was he saw Delaney do a million and ten times then started with the warm up routine that he had seen done twice a week since he'd gotten to Earth and began watching her. Though he'd never done the moves himself, he memorized it well enough to copy them and he occasionally glanced at others to make sure he was doing things right. However, as he was getting stretched out, he moved from a down dog to a cobra and felt a hitch in his back from his wings hurting so much lately. "Fu - " he cut himself off before he swore and shook his head, returning to where he'd been before the pain started. "Are we really going to do this today? There are things to be done and now you want to throw a massive fit..."

Delaney sat cross legged in the front of the room, working on her breathing exercises as she listened to everyone get themselves set up. She only opened her eyes once she was sure everyone was settled, exhaling and gently letting her eyes flutter open to see who was in her room today. Most of the people there were her regulars, those who loved her yoga class just as much as she loved teaching it. She did notice one new one though, a face that wasn't normally seen around here - a guy. She smiled gently to herself, happy that a guy felt comfortable enough to join in with the girls.. as long as he wasn't there to be creep however. She watched him silently, wanting to see what he would do in the beginning of the class since this was his first time. When he started following the routine perfectly, she was sure her mouth dropped a little. How did he even know what to do? She had personally created and crafted every part of her class and there was no way another teacher had a warm-up exactly like hers.

She tried to be unbothered however and let her gaze drift around the room, making sure everyone was doing alright. Once her own personal breathing exercises were completed, she walking around the room, straightening people's backs or adjusting their feet where necessary, even helping them relearn the proper breathing technique that so many seemed to slip up on. She happened to be by the man just as he barely stopped himself from cursing, in obvious pain. She crouched down to his level, a smile creeping across her lips.
"You must have a major kink or something, that looked painful." she said, her smile falling and a look of concern flooding her eyes. "Don't push yourself too hard though, just stay in that position if that's comfortable. But make sure you're still feeling a stretch, it'll help release those muscles that are making you so tense. she said quietly, as to not disturb the peace in the room. She tilted her head at him then, realizing his breathing wasn't anywhere near where it needed to be. "I was wondering how you knew my whole warm up routine, but you must just the type that picks up easily by watching others." she said simply, easily transitioning to sit pretzel style right in front of him.

"You gotta work on your breathing. It'll help you to open up your body more and allow these poses to work more effectively for you. Ok, listen, and try this." she explained, smiling gently. She then closed her eyes softly, showing him the breathing technique she had learned so well. After breathing carefully through one or two cycles, she spoke almost in the rhythm of her breath. "So, you breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth, making a sort of Omm sound in your throat. Be very aware of your breath and how it's in tune with your body. How your chest rises and falls and how you can extend your stretch ever so slightly further with every careful breath." she said, asking him to give it a go before she rose effortlessly, continuing her rounds. She may not be very strong or tough, but she was very in tune with her body and very at ease in the way she moved. There was something about him that made her feel like she met him before, but she couldn't quite put her finger on what it was.

She pushed away the thought however and moved back to the front of the room, starting the class on this particular day's poses. She explained each and every one they would be doing first, then demonstrated the cycle shortly that they would be going through. These poses were a little more challenging than others, but they were a warm up for the more intense part of her class.
"Just remember never to partake in any poses that put too much stress on your body. If it hurts in a bad way, go back to where you feel comfortable. This is all about self exploration and self growth" she said gently, asking the class to get started and sitting down herself. She followed through another quick cycle on her mat with her eyes closed gently as a reminder and a way for everyone to see it twice, then took her place around the room again, helping and adjusting those who needed it.

"You have no idea," he muttered when she pointed out that he had a kink. He looked up at her when she mentioned that he was a fast learner and flashed a smirk before looking back at the ground without saying anything. As she progressed in explaining what was wrong though, his lips pulled in a firm line. It wasn't anything against her, he just had a major problem with being corrected for personal reasons. Since she was the one he might be taking back to Alacritas being on good terms was important. So, he worked on his breathing as she wanted while she was there just to humor her. Though he started doing it reluctantly, he changed from a doubter to a believer as he felt his back loosen a bit. The longer he did it for, the better it felt. Eventually he managed to get into the pose though his back was still incredibly tight and painful. It was hard not to hold his breath and breathe as she wanted, but he managed it from a combination of appeasing her and his over developed sense of competition that was coming out against the regulars.

When Delaney moved to the front to show more poses, he worked to copy them, his eyes closed as he imagined his muscles working exactly what it was going to take to do these poses. Though it took a lot of slow movements, he managed to do them with low amounts of verbalizing how much this was stretching out his sore body. But it felt amazing to him. Though he was pulling on muscles that had been stiff for months, he just seemed to melt once he got into it. "I'm coming to this more... my Goddess," he breathed. When he opened his eyes, he saw his instructor moving through new poses a bit quicker, which made it harder for him, but he kept up.

As he moved into a harder pose though, he felt his body stretch a little harder than it had the first time and something in his spine cracked loudly. He would have groaned if his vision didn't suddenly shift and he saw the auras of everyone in the room. He tried not to look as startled as he felt in seeing the energies of everyone so detailed. It was a skill that the guards trained to him to help spot enemies and it didn't seem to be working when he was on Earth, but now something was wiggled lose in his tense body and it worked again. Yoga was his new favorite nighttime thing. Right after sex.

As he looked around though, he saw the basic human auras with their own emotions mixed into it, coloring the paler flame. However, upon looking up at Delaney, it was bright, bold, and swirling in peaceful harmony. Unless there was more than two caelum on this Earth, which wasn't a good idea, she was the princess by default. If she wasn't the princess though, that meant there were more and it could mean the was an assassin after her as the biggest point that had been made to him before he went was to look out for others of his race as not all of them were as pure as previously thought. Even in his inner circle of Royal Guards, there were several that had proven themselves against the throne - the very one he was on Earth to regain.

He shook his head as he realized he had been staring and hadn't done anything for a few poses. He sat back on his heels and rubbed his eyes, pretending there was something in them as he cut the power back off to his special sight abilities. Ferox tried to get right back into what Delaney asked and relax like before, but he'd become extremely tense at the idea of another caelum being in the room with him - the princess or not.

Delaney walked around the silent room, making sure everyone was working at their own pace and was comfortable, as well as executing the poses correctly. Everyone was so willing to change the way they stretched or breathed as soon as she corrected them that the only male in the room's reluctance was actually quite refreshing. She had noticed the way his lips formed a tight line and he tensed ever so slightly when she asked him to try things her way. But she had also noticed how much more at ease he became when he did get his breathing right. She would never admit it, but oh how she loved being right.

She was only a few people over from the guy when she heard him breathe out something, something that sounded like he was getting it.. and also like he had just called her his goddess. Most people in the room probably hadn't heard it, considering how low his voice was and how focused they were. However, Delaney always made it a point to be tuned in to everything that was happening in her yoga classes so that she could do her best to sense who was hurting or who needed her help. This was different though and she looked over at him curiously, her eyes boring through him for a moment before she snapped out of it, choosing to decide that it was just a slip or something odd that he hadn't meant to say. She shook her head gently and continued her rounds, only pausing briefly at him and shifting the position of his foot slightly before she made her way back up to the front of the room.

She started moving the class into their more intense part of the routine when she heard a loud crack that even had a few other heads turning. It obviously came from the guy in the room, who was staring at her almost too intensely. She swallowed hard and instructed the class to do their normal routine, taking a few strides so that she ended up right in front of the man. She watched him carefully, snapping her fingers gently to try to snap him out of it.
"Hey, you ok?" she asked softly, just as he shook his head and rolled back on his heels, rubbing his eyes. "What hurts? You looked like you went into some sort of trance there. Or is there something wrong?" she said carefully, sitting cross legged down in front of him and watching his expressions carefully. He seemed very tense now, despite the fact that he had loosened up so well earlier. "You look tense. Why don't you just work on the poses from the beginning of the class again and focus on your breathing? she said gently, trying not to push it to much, but wanting to know what she could do to help. Despite his weird comment earlier, he was her student just like anyone else, and she didn't want him to be overexerting himself. Yoga took more practice and skill than most people knew, as well as more flexibility and control over one's body. She had a feeling that he had a lot of perfecting to do to get it just right.

Every time Delaney questioned him, Ferox just shook his head at it. He wasn't ready to speak yet as he wasn't sure how to act. Though he was several hundred years old, he was barely out of his teenager years in his mentality and a rookie in his experience, but he had scars he was hiding that were far worse than the usual rookie from his home should have. As his mind wondered, he bit his lip trying to refocus. He rested his head in his clenched hands as he struggled to get his body back under control. If he remained like this for too long, his mirages were going to vanish. Right now he was relying heavily on them to be a plain human - as plain as he could be with his warrior build. His Royal Guard brand was hidden, his scars were gone, his wings and his wings were held back. While it wasn't a lot for a senior Royal Guard, for someone who was on their own, on a solo mission, and had a lot more energy than a usual caelum; it felt nearly impossible to him and it was very, very taxing.

Using his breathing she taught him, he got himself back under control then finally nodded. "Yeah, I tore the muscles in my shoulder a few months back," he started explaining - lying. He reached around to his back and pressed against the tender muscles that truly did hurt. He winced at just touching them, but let out a sigh as he slowly worked them into relaxing enough that it was numbed enough. "I was just cleared today and I wanted to get back into working out, but I strained it doing pull ups... It's just been painful all day. Sorry about the stare I age you, I pulled on it kinda hard again when I cracked my back. I was trying not to interrupt the ladies, that would be rude." He gave an apologetic smile to one who looked back at him before turning his attention back to Delaney.

"I promise I'll be okay, just a lot more sensitive than I was expecting to be for stretching," he admitted as he let out a huff of air. As she suggested, he moved back to the warm up poses, but almost as soon as he started, he felt like he was fighting himself. With the woman so close to him either being an assassin or the princess, he couldn't relax. Either he was about to die or he was going to have to snap a girl who thought she was normal, out of her false reality and wake her up to the truth. Neither were going to be particularity fun - though an assassin would be a lot less stress and a lot less weight on his shoulders.

Since he couldn't get his muscles to relax - and in turn stretch properly - he sat back on his heels giving up. "I'm going to have to just take a soak when I get home, I don't think this is going to work," he said, reaching to his back again to claw at the covered skin.

Delaney watched as the guy just shook his head at her, acting like he just didn't want to talk. She waited patiently, not sure why he wasn't speaking, but not wanting to push him. There was definitely something off about this though and the energy in the room just felt different. She could tell some of her usual students noticed it too, it just seemed more tense than the environment she normally tried to create in her class. She was doing everything she could to try to make it better for the sake of her regulars and this man. She watched as he seemed to regain control of his breathing, finally nodding at her.

Hearing that he tore the muscles in his shoulders recently and was just cleared today, she couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at him. His physical therapist should've warned him to just do light stretching if that and honestly, with the amount of pain that he seemed to be experiencing, he didn't really seem like he should be cleared. She shrugged it off however, focusing on his excuse for why he had been staring at her so intensely. It didn't really seem like a good reason why, but she wasn't going to question him.
"It's okay, don't worry about it. Just take it easy, you don't want to end up re-injuring yourself." she said gently, touching him for only a moment reassuringly on the shoulder. She then smiled and moved back to the front of the room, going through the motions to end the class. Today had been a weird day in class and everyone seemed a little out of it. It wasn't the same atmosphere today and she knew it had to be because of the new guy. Just because of how tense he was.. nothing else. Or at least that was what she was telling herself, but there was just something about him that she couldn't quite place.

She decided to end the class with savasana pose, which basically is just stretching out and laying still, letting your body relax and melt away. She led the class in breathing exercises and instructed everyone to stretch out and find their way into the savasana pose, her even and calming voice filling the room.
"Clear your mind and allow yourselves to melt into your mat. Start with your toes and wiggle them lightly before relaxing them. Continue this up your body, stretching out your calves and thighs, then wiggling your fingers or rotating your neck before letting yourself be completely still. Just feel your chest rise and fall and focus on nothing but your breathing and the music. she said, letting her voice trail off as everyone in the room stretched out and relaxed. Most seemed so incredibly at ease, it was great to see that she was able to change the feeling of the room.

She let everyone relax and breathe for a good ten minutes before she slowly turned the music volume down until it was off, thanking everyone for a great class and letting everyone go. She sat up front while everyone packed up, answering a few questions from people who wanted to practice their own poses at home. Once most people were out of the room, she started packing up herself, debating where she was going to want to grab dinner tonight.

Ferox nodded as she agreed he needed to take it easy and finally left him - but not without making contact. While she clearly didn't notice it, he felt it. Now there was no doubt that she was a caelum, but being a princess was still up in the air. Still, for now he tried to get rid of that thought and instead just followed what he could without straining his tender back muscles. When he reached the very end of the class, he thankfully had a chance to really relax finally. He stretched himself out on the mat, sighing happily. Eventually though, he actually relaxed fully with his hands placed on his stomach. He started dozing off as he laid there, his breathing barely existent and not an ounce of tension was in his body, it was the first time he actually managed to sleep. When the music was turned down there, it was enough to wake him up.

His eyes slowly opened, his irises glowing a orange color before it toned back down to his "normal" brown eyes. He let out a yawn as he stretched out before rolling off his mat and roll it up, making a face at the sweaty form that was marked on the mat now. He wiped it with a rag as it was rolled up before he turned it in, running his fingers through his hair to fix it. Ferox said nothing to Delaney as he left as he would be with her again soon enough.

Instead of leaving, he changed as he walked again and instead hid outside waiting on her to head to where ever she had to go that night. Hopefully it would include food because that work caused a lot of hunger that he hadn't experienced in a while. He didn't mind that discomfort though as she gave him a lot more relaxation than he had in a while too.

Delaney waited for everyone to file out of the room before putting her own mat and blocks away. That class was a little bit of an odd one, but it was fulfilling none the less. Plus, she had seen just how much her newcomer had been able to relax and even doze off a bit at the end of class, so that put a smile on her face. She hoped to see him back again once he wasn't experiencing so much pain, yoga was great physical therapy and a way to make your body more flexible to avoid further injury. Delaney packed the stereo away and grabbed her empty water bottle, tossing it in the recycling bin on the way out. She locked up the studio behind her and slipped the hair tie out of her hair, letting her hair fall down over her shoulders again. She ran her fingers through her now slightly wavy hair as she walked, smoothing out the tangled ends.

Once in the locker room, she put her combination in and took out her clothes and gym bag. She stripped down and changed back into the jeans and dolman top from earlier that day, slipping on her booties as well. She shoved her leggings and tank in the gym bag to bring home and wash before getting her backpack out and setting it down on the bench. After digging out her wallet, she slung her backpack over her shoulders so it rested comfortably on her back and slung her gym bag over her right shoulder. Satisfied that she had everything she needed, she decided to just head over to the dining hall and use a meal swipe for dinner. She would just grab something to go and head over to the library.

Once she decided on a veggie wrap with seasoned tofu and avocado, as well as a banana on the side, she got everything to go and headed over to the library. She had reserved a study room ahead of time and headed to that private room, dropping her backpack and gym bag to the floor. Digging what she needed out of her backpack, she spread her work out on the table, setting up her laptop with some calming music to listen to while she worked. She then buckled down, her head buried in her work and grabbing a bite of food when she had a moment. She worked like this for hours, intently scribbling down notes and highlighting important sections in her textbooks. She blew through material that took other students days to understand and read at a pace that seemed almost too fast to comprehend the information. She was rarely tripped up though and knew how to knock out her work quickly and efficiently. And she honestly did enjoy the work and learning more. She wouldn't have chosen to work towards being a doctor if this wasn't something she was interested in, it was a lot of work.

After hours in the library, it was finally 10, and according to her schedule, it was time to head home. She was definitely tiring by this point and she rubbed her eyes gently, yawning and stretching out.
"Well, that's definitely enough for tonight. I need sleep." she mumbled gently under her breath, shutting her laptop off and packing up her things. She ran a hand through her hair, the efforts of today hitting her finally and a tired look in her eyes. Once everything was packed up, she plugged her headphones into her phone, popping one in her right ear and leaving the other one out, turning on her playlist that she always listened to on the way home. It was a bunch of upbeat music to keep her alert and awake on the way home. She then slipped her phone in her back pocket and her backpack and gym bag over her shoulder, heading out of the library. Yawning again, she left the library and started on the long walk back home.

The further she got away from campus, she always became slightly nervous. Solely because the street lights were few and far between and a girl walking alone at night was never a good idea. She hummed gently along to her music as she walked, trying not to worry herself since she had never really been given a real reason to.

While Delaney claimed her food, Ferox was outside trying what he'd just learned to try and get his back to loosen. As much as he was trying though, it seemed that he wasn't going to get it fixed until he was able to stretch his wings for a bit - which wouldn't happen until he got home. For now, he just followed Delaney, feeling a bit more of an interest in her now after realizing she was caelum and it appeared that she had no idea what this meant. If she wasn't even aware of what her race was and why she was so gifted in the eyes of the humans, there was no way she realized her royal heritage. If anyone else realized this about her, she was in serious danger if another race came in contact with her. Right now, Ferox was her only chance of surviving and she didn't even know the danger she was in. Because of her oblivion, he decided that he had to approach her sooner than later. It would risk exposing the princess on earth if she wasn't it, but it could mean the princess' saving if she was her.

With her in the library, he too followed, slipping in to sit within earshot of her, but doing his best to stay out of sight. While she studied, he read her culture's stories, ranging his tastes between war heroes and the great love stories. Since his kind had never been subjected to the idea of "girly" traits (and being raised mostly by his mother), he had no problem reading the romance novels or confessing his favorite so far was Princess Bride. As much as he loved the book though, it only lasted him an hour before he was on to something else to hold his interest. Because he was in the library, he had decided to do some reading on more strategy stuff such as treating injuries, weapons of earth, tactics, and a lot of history books. By the time that she finished, he had collected a good pile of finished books in the evening and had become quite sore sitting on the ground against the bookshelves for so long.

He was grateful to finally stand up as he cracked his back and stretched out the best he could before having to catch back up with Delaney. Keeping back from her so she didn't find him too threatening, he pulled his collar up and zipped his leather coat up all the way, feeling the air change before it was to rain. He violently shivered, still not use to the colder temperatures of the earth. Alacritas wasn't exactly a tropical paradise, but it never dropped bellow sixty, never above ninety. So, to him, forty was beyond ridiculous.

He verbalized nothing as he walked though, he was far too busy listening for people who may harm her and looking for anyone suspicious in his eyes. But he felt the threat that was coming instead. He felt a painful shiver run down his spine and the hairs on the back of his neck began to stand up. It was a reaction he had experienced before in the palace right before the royalty were attacked. Anxiety growing, he opened up his Sight and looked around the area. It wasn't bursting with life this late in the evening, but there was still an immense, pulsing energy in the air - and it wasn't either Delaney or Ferox.

What his eyes fell upon was a tall, athletically build blonde. The man wasn't threatening to look at as he had attractive features, was well dressed, and carried himself in a brave, but confused manner as he held a map. He looked distressed as he raked his thick hair back to his scalp so it stopped falling in his face as he fretted over the paper in his hands. When a few raindrops hit it, he winced and quickly pulled out his large, sky blue umbrella and opened it before continuing to try and figure his paper out. Hearing Delaney approach though, he picked his head out of it and looked to her with hopeful eyes the color of frost.

Ferox decided to hang back a bit and stepped off to the side, hiding behind a tree. He looked upon the man curiously until he managed to sort out the confusing aura that this man had. It had been difficult to figure him out as he had so many different human auras on him and it didn't make sense - until Ferox realized it was because the man had been indulging in the woman who threw themselves at him. Once he found the core of who he was though, his heart stopped. He too was a caelum. Snarling, he slowly stepped out, barely keeping his powers at edge as his eyes lit up in a violent orange color, showing their true shade. Don't you dare lay a hand on her... Don't even speak to her. I'll ripe your throat out.

Ferox knew he had been heard as the other caelum looked right at him, but he didn't reply. Instead the caelum met his eyes, gave a smirk then looked back at their target. "Miss? Could you help me out, please? I'm looking for the campus. I'm to be teaching there in the morning to replace one of the Justice Department's teachers, but I can't figure out how to get there from this bus stop to the school. Could you at least point me in the right direction?"

Delaney hummed along to her music as she walked, a light smile on her face as she made her way home. The streets were pretty empty tonight and although she was pretty exhausted, she was enjoying her walk and her time away from the business of her day. It all got to be a little too much sometimes and these walks and her time in her apartment at night were really her only time to herself. She was really a rather introverted person despite her outward appearance and appreciated time alone more than she cared to admit. It was rather exhausting trying to appease everyone and act like she thoroughly enjoyed being social for such large parts of her day. She would really rather just have more time to herself.

Delaney was snapped out of these thoughts however when a man's voice spoke out, causing her to tense up ever so slightly before she realized who was speaking. He was definitely a tall and well built man, but he looked harmless enough, confusion apparent on his face as he stared down at the map in front of him, then back at her, clearly awaiting an answer. She took a moment to process what he said, popping the ear bud out of her ear and shoving it in her pocket. She didn't fully trust any man that tried to speak to her this late at night, but he looked genuinely innocent, so she smiled warmly, taking a step towards him to glance at his map.
"Sure, no problem. It's really easy actually." she said gently, turning her back to him to point in the direction of the campus. "It's just a straight shot down that way, turn right once you hit the corner of James and Madison Street, you'll see the campus ahead. It would probably be better to wait until morning though.. most campus buildings are closed by now.." she said, her voice faltering slightly at the end as she realized the ridiculousness of his request. She turned back around to face him at the same time as she took a step back, ready to bolt if necessary. "Good luck, have a nice night." she said as calmly as she could muster, waving shortly and moving to walk away from him, the worry planted plainly on her face.

The caelum gave her a polite bow at her pointing out where he needed to head. He gave her a kind smile and seemed to start to turn away from her. As she stepped away though, he turned back to her with a big grin. "Actually, I forgot. There's one more thing that I need of you, Princess Ancora, and it's you," he told her with a smile. He barely had to take a step before he was behind her. With one arm he wrapped tightly around her waist, lifting her up, and his other held her against him while he covered her mouth from screaming. "However, it appears that you are unaware of who you are what I am or that you've been being followed for over a month now by another one of our kind. Such a shame. If he'd have moved faster, maybe you wouldn't be as easy to catch as a human."

With a firm tug, he pulled her off the ground and started carrying her away to do as he please with her. Ferox wasn't far behind, but he couldn't get there as fast as this man was moving her. Unlike him, the blonde hadn't been surprising his powers for so long that they'd weakened like an unused muscle. He still ran as fast as he could to catch up to her, angry for being unable to use his wings out of risk of being spotted. If there was to be a fight though, it was going to be hard to not leave a notable signature.

For now though, Delaney was on her own as she was dragged into the alley way, everyone shying away from the obvious crime happening. Reaching the dark area, the man threw he against the wall with a smirk. He pulled his hat off and ran his fingers through his hair, fixing the few that had fallen out of place. "Now, are you going to let me do this the easy way, or," he began before drawing a wicked broad sword off his hip, seemingly from thin air. "Or the hard way, Princess Ancora?"
