Jerome wasn't one to complain, especially when it was orders that came down from the higher ups.
Team Rocket was interested in what looked like a glowing egg up on the pillar that Groudon had created, really really interested in it. The only problem was that the League seemed just as interested in keeping Rocket as far away from it as possible.
The way that Team Rocket chose to handle the situation, was to assign Agents and Grunts shifts manning a submarine, allowing them to observe the egg as closely as they could.

Jerome had no personal curiosity about this egg, he didn't grow up learning the significance of the legendary or what this would mean, he had been preoccupied with a much different world in his youth, but all the same he was assigned to the submarine for a few shifts along with the team of Grunts that he ranked over, as well as his partner, and it was just as uncomfortable as he expected it to be.

Taking a quick break from the duties that he had been assigned, with Bro's help the ex-gangster managed to locate the largest room in the submarine, though since it was a submarine, it wasn't nearly as large as Jerome would like.
He stood leaned against a metal wall, his head ducked slightly so that it wasn't knocking against a pipe, causing the side that had dreads to fall forward over his shoulder, arms crossed over his white Agent uniform, though he felt uncomfortable, the only clue to the Agent's condition was shown only in a slight bouncing of his knees, and a nervous licking of his lips every now and then. Granted he had been in worse situations, but being stuck in small enclosed places without even the option to smoke always got under the man's skin.

Zuberi had volunteered almost immediately. He wasn't going to be without the chance to prove his worth. Even if it meant he'd be stuck in a small tin can in the water for a few weeks. Though most of his Pokemon weren't happy about it, Moto seemed excited. They did a bit more training before their first day on the sub, and it turned out it was enough to send Moto into evolution. He waited patiently as the Cyndaquil changed into a Quilava, and congratulated him by giving him some treats. After that, it was straight to the higher ups to report for duty. He ended up leaving two of his four Pokemon in his dorm, asking Damon to watch over them for him. He took Moto and Upinde along. Moto had grown confident with his evolution, and was now walking along side Zuberi through the sub.

The grunt moved easily and quietly. He was almost always undetected, even on the sub. It turned out he was always on time and ready for his shifts, but when it wasn't his turn, it was hard to find him. He moved quietly through the halls, seemingly unnoticed. Moto at his side. They explored every inch of the sub. Except for one place. A place where he noticed should have the most room. But that was saying little on this tin can. He reached an arm down, Moto taking the initiative and jumped up from his arm and all the way to his shoulder. He shook his head out, before settling.

Zuberi slowly and steadily found the location of the big room. He paused, looking around to make sure no one followed him, before keying in a code for the door. He paused when he saw someone in a white uniform ahead. A higher up, no doubt. Well. So much for being unnoticed. He hesitated at the door, pondering if he should address him formally or casually. After a moment, he stood a little more at attention and set his jaw, eyes locked. "Sir. Sorry for the interruption. I was not aware anyone was in this room." He stated, thick accent making the words sound a little more crisp.

It was easy to focus on the chill that he got from his shadow, and the presence that it implied, it helped enough to gather his head so that he could get back to work for another shift.

The sound of the door opening broke the consistent humming of the sub, though it wasn't significant enough to look up until Jerome heard the voice of a man speaking.
They called him 'sir' so it was obviously a grunt, Jerome knew that the split second before he looked up,
"s'coo-" He replied in his deeb gruff of a voice shaking his head to show that he didn't care, the demeanor remaining laid back and indifferent.
The man glanced up, though inked eyes did a double take on the grunt, causing the Agent to pull himself off of the wall.
Dark skin, light eyes and some pretty sweet mattes of locks hanging from his head. Though this guy obviously spoke with a much different accent then Jerome had ever heard, and with a much higher grad of education then Jerome himself did.
"Ain't seen Y'round" He Agent noted, nodding his head toward him with a measure of interest "Y'new?"

From the unusually dark shadow cast behind the tattooed man, a pare of long purple ears perked out, followed by a set of gleaming green eyes, one narrowed at they peered out at Zuberi.

Zuberi was ready to turn around and walk away so that he could leave the Agent in peace. But when he saw the inked light eyes, he stared. He paused where he was and set his jaw even more, his hands tightening at his sides. They had a lot in similarity. And he had to admit, the other man's dreads were tight. He could never pull off the shaved head thing, but this man rocked it. Then it hit him. This had to be Agent Jerome. Too many people had compared them, and now he could see why. He glanced over the man for several seconds before feeling Moto at his shoulder flare up some. He could feel the heat of the fire for several seconds before it disappeared. Zuberi glanced at the Quilava for a moment before looking back at Jerome, and saw why it was that his partner was getting irritated. There was another Pokemon in here, and it was giving him a look.

Dismissing the Pokemon, Zuberi locked his eyes once more on Jerome. He cocked his head slightly, before he nodded his head. "Somewhat, yes, sir. I have been here for roughly six months. I assume you are Agent Jerome? Many people have talked about you." He said, voice curious. He glanced over Jerome's shoulder again, eying the Pokemon. Purple ears... glowing eyes. Purple... Purple... Purloin? No. Too big. Too shadowy. Ghost. Haunter maybe? Moto shook his head, backing up some to give the other Pokemon a glare of his own, ready to attack if he needed to.

In the moment the Grunts eyes swept past Jerome briefly, the man turned slightly to follow his gaze, back to his shadow where Bro was lingering.
Jerome felt the chill rising away from his body as the Pokemon continued to drift out of the darkness and into a corporal world.
The Gengar, half his body covered in lightly illuminated glowing markings continued to wear a curious toothy frown as he floated up next to Jerome, his short arms crossed as he looked over the other Rocket.
"Gar Gengar-" He muttered as if to the human next to him.

Jerome returned his own gaze back to the Grunt. "Yea?" He grunted somewhat curiously, he knew he had made a good number of friends over the years, this Grunt must have met some of them. "Hn... didn't think I made m'self such a rep." He admitted, reaching up to slide a hand over the shaved side of his head.
Jerome let off a light casual shrug, lifting his arms again to cross them at his chest, "yea, name's Jerome, This is Bro'" He jerked a chin toward the Gengar, who in response threw up his hands in what looked like a few gang signed before sinking down further next to Jerome and clacking his teeth.
"Who're ya?"

Zuberi watched the shadow for several seconds, and when it started to take shape, he realized what it was. A Gengar. That was a rare Pokemon to have, in his opinion. Getting a Haunter to evolve was no easy feat. He tore amber eyes away from the Bro, and looked back to Gengar. He stared for a second and then glanced back toward Moto. The fire type was frowning, fire lingering on the spots on his back, though not flared enough to cause damage. He shifted some and reached to smooth some fur back on his face, hushing him softly in Swahili. He looked back at Jerome and nodded his head curtly, wathing the Gengar once more.

"It is a pleasure to meet you, finally, sir. You as well, Bro. I have heard of you from some grunts as well." He stated, before looking back toward Jerome. He gestured toward Moto, the Quilava shifting some and lifting his head almost proudly. "My name is Zuberi, code name Striker. And this is Moto." He stated, before looking around the room again. He didn't mean to interrupt his quiet time, after all. He shifted somewhat and lowered Moto to the ground, his shoulder starting to ache at the heavier Pokemon. As a Cyndaquil it was easy. But with this evolution it was different.

It wasn't hard to tell that the fire type with the grunt wasn't too pleased with the appearance of Bro, Jerome gave the ghost type a glance, his features shifting to a warning frown when he saw the s**t eating smirk he had on his face as he looked over the Quilava.
Looking back at Jerome with a look of '...what?' he just clicked his teeth once more and folded his arms, pouting slightly.

"Huh." Jerome grunted, still a little surprised to hear that others talked about him, he had to wonder who this grunt had been talking too. "Same brotha'" Jerome returned the gesture of greeting, making his was casually toward the other man, who by now Jerome could tell was a good deal taller then he was. "Striker." Jerome repeated, knowing he would have already forgotten the name of the Grunt, and wasn't sure how well he would remember the code name "Where ya get Striker from?"
