She had one week to find something strong enough to hide Riley's form from the world.
It was a puzzle she pondered on her way back to Amityville, her walk slow and almost lazy as her mind was occupied on things much more important than noting who was milling about. The school, for all its dangers, had been often labelled harmless to her; whatever it had thrown at her, she had overcome easily. While still hesitant she was still confident enough in her skills to allow herself this one time to let her guard slip. Her problem was a more pressing puzzle, with a much shorter time constraint than the one she had set for herself.
When she boiled it down, between herself and her host - the real Amrita, the one born to Halloween - she only had three and a half days to find her solution, and to act on her promise.
It seemed incredibly difficult, but she knew she could do it. She had to. She needed to, because she wanted to keep the gift that was Riley, the Mindflayer that was practically handed to her on a tarnished, bloody platter.
She stepped through the school doors as she moved thoughtlessly around, her bare feet carrying her silently into the scarcely populated halls. All the while she was focused on her problem, organizing her options into plausibility and ease of acquiring.

She ended up before a single door, gold and white at first glance, but to Amrita's eye, the colors would shift after a moment, into black and rich blue. It was, in a word, inviting.
Amityville was founded very long ago, by a reaper of great renown. His purposes were perhaps unknown to most, but those who've glimpsed the underground lake might have an idea that education was not the solitary aim of the building. Amrita was now treated to a glimpse of another telling rarity that only the most desperate of students have unknowingly found.
Not that they had seen this room. Not exactly. Different needs sparked off different, unspoken requests that the room and it's door sought to fill, seeking out every item and chamber within the school properties that met the needs of the one with the will and luck to attract its attentions.
Amrita would be able to find it again and again, each time more easily than the last, but this time, what greeted her was a small antechamber, and beyond that a massive, cave-like room filled with trinkets and piles upon piles of gold and silver seeds, littered here and there with jewels of great quality.
Through it there was a small path, which led to yet another room, and this one was smaller by far. Lined with statues, their features and race varying wildly, all but a few held pendant that glimmered brightly with power and purpose.

Amrita looked up at what she thought would be her office. Instead, she found a door whose light colours changed, melting rather delightfully into darker, more inviting colours. A glance down the hallway told her she was no where near where she thought she had been going, which made it all the more curious.
Still, it seemed inviting enough. It radiated the right energies to keep her from being too cautious to enter at all.
The antechamber the door had opened too was interesting, and she was sure to get a good look at the room. Trinkets, gold and silver seeds, jewels. It seemed like a wealth indeed, and she had to wonder why it would be hidden away. Still, these things carried no interest to her; she didn't quite need these, but it was good to know that they existed. So she carried on through the curious room, her steps careful and light on the chance of traps, and followed the small path to the room of statues.
She took a note of the ones without pendants, looking curiously at the faces of their statues. Then she moved on to the ones still holding pendants, walking around the room once, twice, and finally stopping in front of a statue of what looked like some sort of monstrous spider-creature. Of the statues in the room, this was the one she continued to fixate on; none of the rest seemed to hold a candle to it, at least to her.
She reached out, and carefully wrapped her fingers around the pendant the spider creature held.

It was lovely, this pendant. She turned it between her hands, her dark fingers brushing over it, feeling out the material just as much as she tried to feel out the power behind it. If she were wrong, the potential danger would be great. However, if her instincts about this were correct...
She wasn't sure why she put it on. Perhaps she just wanted to test it. But she did, and the sudden feel of the change was only as alarming as it was uncomfortable. The shift caused only that mild panic, that brief doubt, but when it stopped - when she looked down at herself, and saw not the patchwork, but the spider - it fled.
Her many eyes blinked in a small wave from left to right as her head tilted down, turning her hand palm up and palm down, inspecting. She did what she could to look at her new body, finding nothing that even suggested what she may have looked like before. Even her face felt different; the only similarity was by chance, but there were plenty of things in this world that were black.
"Fantastic." She purred softly, her voice clicking through the new set of vocal cords, and the new mouth filled with new, sharp fangs. Though a new thought occurred, and she reached up, taking a hold of the pendant and pulling it off of herself.
