Wings
She hears them in the distance, thrumming in symphony, the harsh song of cicada wings. They drift from the sky, glossimer threads of torn dreams and their bodies crunched under her foot. Tiny hollow shells and she snickered, eyes gleaming as she moved towards nothing.
