Kanshisha Enzeru's Character'sX X X X X X X X X X

Username: Kanshisha Enzeru
Name: Rein Nolan Thatcher
Race: Werewolf
Age: 458, looks 35.
Weapons: Long Sword. Dagger. Revolver(5 shots)
Miscellaneous Objects: He has a pipe for smoking. His right ear is pierced and he has a silver band ring on his right hand. An inscription is seen on the outside that reads, Nulu Vas Hel, Allatra Al' (Translation: "Never hesitate, Always Act", in Haldred)
Magical Prowess: He is an Alchemist of the general variety, and not centered in any one subject.
Skills: Swordsmanship(he has had over two-hundred years of experience). Gunmanship(he is a good shot, yet not an expert because he doesn't use it very often). Hand-to-hand combat(He is good with hand-to-hand, but not super good due to his training).
Personality: Rein's twisted life has transformed him into a very cruel and sadistic person, very different than normal human beings. All the pain he has inflicted is both an outcry and a need. Subconsciously, hurting others is the only way he can get revenge on the people that have hurt him, both mentally, and physically. Yet, he never sees it that way. Those terrible things in his life have warped his mind to accept the horrible as a state of normalcy.
Bio: Rein was born in the year 1403 to a family in a town within Haldred. It was one of the outer towns in the country, and had housed several generations of his family. Back then he lived a normal life. He was allowed to play as a child, was reprimanded like a child, and when he came of age, Rein rose to work in the family business like his siblings. Unfortunately, everything began to change in 1432, the year Rein turned twenty-nine. That was the start of the Purging War, when the current king of Haldred basically waged war on the Werewolves. They fought back like any replying army would, by taking territory, and killing all opposition. All victims that were bit was turned into a werewolf for their army.
Rein lost two of his siblings and his father in the war when the Werewolves came through and slaughtered most of the town folk. His innocent town became and occupied town, throwing his life, and his families life into chaos. As part of their occupation, all the towns folk were held prisoner in their own home. When the Werewolves needed soldiers, they went into those homes and took people from their families and bit them. Rein is one of those victims since he did not get bitten during the attack. To this day he still remembers being taken from his mother and siblings kicking and screaming their names as they too screamed his. Unable to stop them, he was taken from his home to a building in the center of the army where other prisoners were kept. Several dozen people had been taken there, and the number only kept growing as the full moon approached. The day before the sun set, Rein was taken from his cage along with all the other prisoners and thrown into separate rooms in another building next door. Just before the sun set, a Werewolf soldier was locked in the room with Rein. Although Rein still suffers terrible nightmares from the horrors of those days, that one night with the werewolf still stands out.
Rein was pulled from the room by his werewolf companion the next morning bloody and terribly wounded. The second he was pulled from the room, Rein's training began. At the start of the training, Rein was shown that he would eat, sleep, and fight with all forms of soldiers, not just the new recruits. They told him that this way, he would come to form bonds with the people that he once saw as enemies. Everybody in the army saw each other as brothers and sisters. Rein doubted this, but they didn't. After five months of constant weapons training(swordsmanship training & bowmanship training), and being told nobody, even his family, wouldn't accept him, Rein's resolve began to break. It was both because of the time he spent with them, and the fact that every soldier he talked too told of being rejected. Rein was confused, yet deep inside, he retained the belief that his family would accept him.
Once Rein's training was finished, he was shipped off to battle, bringing his inner turmoil with him. This caused psychological damage to Rein. He didn't want to kill his own kinsmen, and at the same time was forced too for two reasons. One of these reasons was self defense. They were all trying to kill him with a hate that astounded him. This was the hate that his fellow trainers had told him about for months. Hate that will possess everyone he ever knew. The second reason was some inner fear of his own werewolf soldiers. He feared that they would make him experience the same torment he felt when they invaded his town, or when they took him. He especially feared being locked in with another werewolf during the full moon(his fear telling him they would make it so he wouldn't change). He was caught between a rock and a hard place. In this mental state that only got worse, Rein killed Haldred soldier after soldier during the rest of the years the war continued. When the war ended officially in 1436, Rein believed himself to be a monster.
With the war over, Rein, at age 33, fell back to the Allunarrem Ruins along with the other Werewolves. Rein spent ten years there. While he was there he did feel a sense of peace, but it with the belief that he was a monster, sharing a home with fellow monsters he could love and connect with. This conflicted with his desire to go home to his mother and siblings. He was sure they were alive and not turned, for he didn't see them while he was training. Yet, the Allunarrem Ruins was a home for monsters, his old home was place for people. It took ten years for him to build up the courage to go. To do this, he had to constantly remind himself that he was their family, they would accept him.
It only took Rein a month to locate his family. The town he once knew still remained, but it was in a state of disrepair. In addition, half the inhabitants were either dead, or had been bitten for the war against the King's soldiers. Luckily, Rein's family had survived the ordeal. He spotted them outside their house trying to repair the damage done, so he approached. At first, the reunion was everything Rein had hoped for. They were happy and laughed and cried like any family would when seeing someone they thought was dead. It made Rein happy to see acceptance. Much to his dismay, this was not to last. As they talked, Rein's family began to hear his side of the story and all the acts he had done after being taken. They heard what kind of being he was now, and most importantly, they heard all the killing he had done.
In the blink of an eye the tone of the conversation changed. Over and over they kept questioning him about why he did it, and insisting he had choice. Their suffering had turned into hate and anger through their hate for the army.
Rein tried to defend himself against the accusations that demeaned him, but with each reason he gave, they only got more disgusted with him. He could see in their eyes the growing belief that he was a monster. Even though he was their brother, their son, his moral integrity was being questioned. Rein was horrified. His own family was beginning to hate him, curse him. Everything his werewolf trainers told him was playing out exactly as they said it would.
At this point, Rein's family was yelling at him for all the people on the street to hear. Because the nature of the conversation, a riot had formed instantly out of the angry citizens. They demanded justice for Rein's crimes and transformed into a lynching mob that tried to kill him. Heart broken, Rein was chased from his hometown. When he finally escaped, Rein heard cheering. Rein was completely crushed. Too depressed to return to the Allunarrem Ruins, Rein went into seclusion deep in the woods of Haldred where he build his house by hand.
One-hundred years of seclusion granted Rein(age one-hundred-forty-three), no solace or peace. All it gave him was a rumor on the lips of nearby locals that said a werewolf lived in the woods picking off victims. This rumors caused the next chapter of pain in Rein's life. Slavers, upon hearing the rumor, saw a chance of a lifetime. Their plan was simple. Stock up on weapons and sedatives prier to the full moon, find the werewolf, then wait for it to pass and claim their prize. The plan was successful. For the second time in Rein's life, he was taken from what he considered home, and brought to an unfamiliar place.
For two days they traveled. The first day was ensuring Rein would not be stopped in their luggage on a train to Cragugan; and the second day was taking him safely to their house undetected. He remained in the slavers hands for a fortnight in the basement of their safe-haven at the East Cragugan Docks. The reason for the lengthy captivity was because the slavers came into contact with a famous slave company that was owned by one of the biggest slave kingpins. A representative had been sent across the ocean to overlook the exchange and merit of their claim, so the slavers had to wait. When the day arrived, Rein's captors took him to the docks where he was approved and paid for. Rein, now in the hands of the representative, was brought to Tabbel by boat.
Rein was then taken to the center of his new captives area of operations and branded with their trademark. This is where they broke all slaves that came into their possession, and he was no different. The only difference was that they assured him extra pain during the full moon. Pain and torment was the kingpins tools. They wanted all their slaves to feel inferior to every other being, unable to do anything unless told to. In this way they earned the respect of having perfect slaves, because they taught with in iron fist. Nobody ever left the owners that bought them, because they feared leaving. Rein was given this pain.
It took them one year to break Rein(age one-hundred-forty-four), completely. During this time Rein began to a feel a hate form inside him. This hate was directed at everybody he knew, from his family and his current wardens, to all normal people. He had done nothing to them, and they had hurt him in return. He had even gone into seclusion so they didn't have to look at him, and they still found him and granted him pain. It was the first time Rein had ever thought that he cared too much what other people thought of him.
Rein was placed on the market at a high price for one month until, very abruptly, he was pulled off. It was odd to him. He heard that there was a government someone interested to buy him, but they still pulled him off refusing to pay. As a result, Rein stayed in a state of suspense until the leader of the company itself, met him in person. He offered Rein a chance at freedom. The catch was that Rein would be working for them to collect more slaves, as the old one needed replacing. The leader appealed to Reins hate by telling him that those people across the ocean never did anything but hate him and hurt him. He offered Rein a chance of revenge on those who hurt him across the ocean. The leader of the company offered Rein a month to think about it. That was all Rein needed.
It took a month of thinking, in complete seclusion(they did that to allow him time to fester with his emotions), for that hate to boil over. When he came back, Rein accepted readily. Within the next week, Rein had replaced their original man, and was then responsible for catching and transporting slaves to Tabbel. It would only be in later years that Rein began to train slaves in Haldred prier to sending them to Tabbel. The leader of the company never complained, and even encouraged it, as it would cut down the time for breaking them after they were transported by boat.
Other: Rein has scars all over his body. On his right hip is the burned symbol of the slave company that bought him.

Username: Kanshisha Enzeru
Name: Viuthelium Nuda Sator, or Viu for short
Race: Dragon
Age: He can't remember, he appears 26
Weapons: Doesn't wield weapons that he can remember.
Miscellaneous Objects: Viu has an ancient ring with a dragon crest on it. He doesn't know it's origins.
Magical Prowess: Viu does know what his abilities are because of memory loss, yet expresses an awareness that suggests wizardry.
Skills: Due to memory loss, Viu has virtually no special skills beyond the ordinary that he is aware of.
Personality: Viu is a very shy and skittish man. The Fire-Phoenix tactic of using torture shattered his confidence and amplified a mild paranoia that had already been there before. This paranoia was a sense of fear that someone was out to get him. When they met, Rein's face filled in that blank image that was the mysterious person. Now Viu fears Rein like the plague. At the same time, Viu cares and clings to his friend Ebony, whom he met in slavery. She reminded him of his sister Layla(the girl who, along with her parents, helped give him a home), so he bonded with her fairly well and can't do anything without her.
Bio: The beginning of Viu's story begins not with Viu himself, but with a pair of different individuals. These individuals are Beth, her husband Theodore, and their sixteen year old daughter, Layla. These three people are the ones that first found Viu right after he lost his entire memory. To explain this, I must start with how they found him.
The year was 1835. Because of Theodore's trade as a traveling merchant, he went from town to town often with his wife Beth, and their daughter Layla(age five). For years he had been traveling, even before he met his wife and had a child. This meant he could detect when a particular day was not good for travel, and had done so many times. The day they found Viu was as perfect a day as any.
That day, Theodore, Beth, and Layla were traveling from their hometown to Cragugan City to try their luck at selling their wares at the big city. Throughout the entire morning and afternoon there was nothing but simple sunshine and a glorious breeze. This weather pleased the family, for that was best kind of weather to travel in. However, as the sun began to set, a change started to take root. Large storm clouds, black and dangerous blew in from the east towards the ocean and blotted the sunset. With these storm clouds came a terrible wind, lightening, and pouring rain. The abruptness of this storm caught the family unexpectedly. Stranded in the middle of nowhere, all they could do was hunker down among tall thick trees inside their carriage and wait for the storm to pass safely.
The wind blew strong, the lightening crackled with a vengeance they had never experienced, and the rain only fell stronger with each passing second. Masked by the wind came sounds they could never quite identify. It sounded almost like roars to their ears, but how could that be? There was no creature big enough to be heard over the weather that raged. Yet there was. It was an hour into the storm when a great weight struck the earth near the road they were on. It landed with such force that it shook the trees and the carriage like it was nothing, throwing the family apart from each other. This horrified the family. The prospect of getting squashed by that great force was enough to keep them up the rest of the storms rage.
Shortly after that occurrance, the storm passed. With cautious steps the family left the carriage to find that their horse had fled into the night and that many trees were toppled near their carriage. They knew that none of the trees near them were strong enough to shake the earth like that force did, which only increased their confusion. With this fact in mind to boost his trepidation, Theodore departed to find the horse and leave. In the first fifty yards of his carriage, Theodore came across the source of the crash. Over a hundred yards was demolished under what was obvious a large and heavy body. This body had fallen from a great height and had landed with enough force to create what looked like a crater. In the center of his crater, he found Viu.
Viu was found face down, unconscious and in critical condition. All over his body were wounds that threatened his life, yet the most important of these was a large gash on the head that bled profusely. Knowing only to help the man, Theodore took Viu back to his carriage and into the hands of his wife and daughter, before leaving again to search for the horse. He felt no concern for the stranger awakening. Theodore knew Viu's wounds were serious enough to keep him down for days. This was a fact that proved all too true. For the rest of their trip, and several days after, Viu remained unconscious. Many times he was visited by a Cragugan doctor while the family cared for him in their temporary home. Each time, the doctors left telling the family that he was getting better, but had lost all his memories due to the head injury.
It took two months for Viu to recover from his wounds. After the first month, the family was able to move him back with them to their hometown. Periodically throughout the first couple weeks of his healing, Viu would regain consciousness and talk to them. These were his first memories. As he got better, he was able to stay awake longer, until finally, he was able to stay awake all day, despite the fact that they kept insisting he rest. When he finally recovered, the family offered Viu a place to stay. They had grown close to him, and at the same time pitied him, in the time they spent talking and taking care of him. With a little insistence, Viu, who was hesitant, agreed.
For the next twenty-five years, Viu lived with them. They had become his family, and they both benefited from the experience. Throughout the years however, they noticed that Viu was always fearful of strangers, as though they were out to get him. When they inquire about it, Viu confirmed their suspicion. The knew it had something to do with his lost memory. They hoped this was sign his memory was returning, as the doctor was unclear. Unfortunately, nothing ever resurfaced.
That's when the slavers came. For days prier to their assault, they had been monitoring Viu's movements and behavior. It had struck them right way that Viu wasn't human, and as they pondered, they came to see what type of creature he was. It was only an added plus that Viu had no memory of his past, and therefore couldn't change into his dragon form. This meant that the plan was simple. Come in, apprehend their prey, and if Viu did know how to change, take the family as a hostage as insurance.
The attack happened in the dead of the night. They had waited for the family to go to sleep before they entered. They had crept as silent as thieves, but were caught by the stairs that creaked. In seconds the family was awake, and made an attempt to fight to get away, but was unsuccessful. Once the slavers got a hold of the daughter, they were able to use her to get the rest of the family, and most especially, Viu. As soon as Viu was acquired, he was taken away. He didn't know what happened to his family after that.
The Slavers repeatedly kept telling Viu throughout his captivity that if he fought back against them, the family he cared for would face the price of his bravery. In this way they kept Viu with them despite his increasing fear. For four days they traveled to Cragugan, to hold him for two days after that in order to sell him to Fire-Phoenix corporation. It was a name he was later fear, but fear not more than Rein Thatcher, the man whose hands he fell into.
Not only was Rein Thatcher exceptionally cruel to Viu, but he held onto him for a lot longer than any other slave before sending him to Tabbel. Viu was such a golden prize for the Fire-Phoenix, that Rein himself was asked to overlook Viu's torture in Tabbel. This meant that Rein went with Viu when he was taken across the ocean. It was a fact that Viu was horrified to know. His time as a slave had not only shattered his remaining confidence, but made him deathly afraid of Rein. Viu believed the first day with Rein that he was one out to get him. Rein incouraged that thought. It made Viu more manipulative.
In his captivity, Viu met the only person he felt connected too. That was Ebony. Although they could never talk as much as they wanted, Viu was struck by her kindness. It was one light in the darkness for him. In fact, if it wasn't for her, he would have never escaped. Viu's fear of disobeying Rein was so strong, that when a group of rebels assaulted Fire-Phoenix and started freeing the slaves, that Viu didn't want to leave. He was afraid of the Rebels. That was when Ebony showed up. She had talked him into leaving with them with such a soft and kind voice that he listened. The rebels did exactly as they had promised. Once they were freed, the rebels gave Viu a place to eat, sleep, and rest with all the other freed slaves. They were then granted passage on a ship back to Haldred.
Other: Viu has the Fire-Phoenix's trademark symbol(phoenix) on his right hip, and many scars--especially on his back--from his torment as a slave on his body, as well as other mysterious scars he has no memory of. He also has yellow dragon eyes.
