Deacon thought he might have known what to expect.
He had to be polite, with all of the emphasis on please and thank you that he could muster. Honestly, he knew how to be better than he had shown of himself... He just didn't do well when in rowdy company.
At least he'd gotten to punch JD in the face. Totally worth it in the long run. Apparently, the other boil had taken to his pig-self a lot more willingly than the tabby had. He'd seen JD at prom, and frankly he was appropriately disgusted. Maybe JD just considered himself too good to make up for his mistake. Deacon wouldn't have been surprised.
Actually confident until about three steps away from Professor Winter's door, his knock had been relatively soft. Not in hopes that she wouldn't hear of course, but who knew if he knocked too loudly whether or not that would deduct 'points' from his performance.
He entered just as quietly when invited in, shutting the door with a soft click behind himself. He hesitated there, awaiting instruction, presuming that he probably should just stroll to a seat or toward her desk without being told as much.
