It had been an urban legend for years; with waxes and wanes in popularity and people who knew or took an interest.
The Nightmare Moon; Tambrey knew, now, that this was a real pokémon- it was, in fact, a relic of old base experimentation that had, somehow, become lose and never been recaptured.
She had her suspicions on how and why; for one thing, it seemed like the genetic profile that she'd been able to take a gander at suggested not much more than a regular Rapidash. Expending resources over and over to recapture one loose, slightly odd looking Rapidash, even with 'fancy' but not technological attire, was a rather unlikely scenario.

And so, the experiment, she supposed she'd gained a 'name' after the urban legend came to be, had roamed free for years around Ambergris and the desert to the North of it.

She enjoyed CJ's company, and she knew the girl was... to put it mildly a 'horse person', so the grunt seemed like the perfect partner for a bit of a jaunt- a drive- out to Ambergris and into the desert beyond. Coincidentally, she had a Rapidash that wasn't entirely dissimilar to the reports as well; Tambrey suspected CJ would enjoy the outing, even if it did just turn out to be very simple scouting.
Personally, Tambrey wasn't really expecting much; it was a scouting mission, and survey of whatever might be out that way now, but, of course, she held out a little bit of wishful thinking.
Even a sighting would be good. A recapture would be wonderful. Realistically, though, she didn't expect to be one of those to bring in the Rapidash after she'd been free for so long.
They'd park the transport in Ambergris and then proceed by other means Northward.

Driving in, she gave a little grimace; she'd never really spent -long- in the city above ground, but there was just something about the place... Spending so long -under- it, in a less than spacious facility, she supposed.

"So, um, I'm going to turn right in a moment. It's, uh, the designated drop off. Just make sure not to leave anything in the car. It's likely not to be seen again if you do..." Tambrey explained with an apologetic smile; Rocket's 'lost and found' system, especially in the vehicle system, was poor in one way, and wonderful in another; it was very good security even if harmless items could become lost for ever.
"I'm going to use Pygi, but I'll keep low enough as we travel; you'll be fine following on Jewel?"

CJ was doing her absolute best not to squeal the entire ride to Ambergris. She couldn't help it, she was so excited to spend the day out looking around the desert for whatever might be out there... Including the Nightmare Moon Tam had told her about. The thought of a Rapidash of legend running around out there, and the thought that they might actually get to see it, had the cowgirl feeling more like a giddy schoolgirl. It was taking every bit of her self control to remain calm and collected; inside, she was jumping up and down like crazy.

Of course, it wasn't just the thought of seeing Nightmare Moon that had CJ so happy, she also got to spend the day with Tambrey, who she liked more and more each time they hung out. Granted, Tambrey was a bit of what CJ would call a 'nerd', but she was nice and even though her scientific talk went so far over CJ's head it wasn't even funny she did enjoy her company very much. What impressed her as well was the fact that Tambrey was an Agent, and CJ a Grunt... but regardless of rank, CJ felt like she could call Tam more of a friend than superior, which meant when she was acting as a superior CJ had much more respect for her.

When they pulled up to the drop off location, CJ looked around out the windows. She'd never been to Ambergris before, though she'd heard about how a lot of Rockets had been relocated here when the main base blew up. CJ took a moment to be sad that she never got to see that base, the one her sister started out in, though by what she was seeing around her she was glad she didn't have to stay in the in-between outpost. Shaking out of her thoughts, she grinned at Tambrey. "Sir, yes sir!" The Grunt hadn't taken much with her, just a bag with basic first aid and of course water canteens and a parasol, and her Pokeball belt slung low around her hip. Accessories and items aside, CJ was dressed in her favorite attire, consisting of a white crop top, Daisy Dukes, an open purple plaid vest that always caught the smallest breeze and helped her stay cool, and she topped it all off with a straw cowboy hat. Her normal thigh-high black leather boots had been swapped out for her uniform boots, though, with moisture wicking socks that were so long she had them bunched up on the top of her boots. Not only had she not been to Ambergris yet, but she also hadn't been to the desert and had no idea what to expect.

"Yep!" CJ giggled, "I just hope she picks up on how to run in sand fairly quickly..." She supposed it couldn't be too hard, at Nightmare Moon had been doing it for years, but Jewel wasn't exactly used to terrain that didn't have grass over it.

Tambrey couldn't help but give a slight snort of amusement, even if some agents would have, probably rightly so, found the verbal response- if not the grin- entirely appropriate and expected.
She reflected, even, that Aulus would probably have liked it.

"Hm." Tambrey gave a nod, turning the wheel and bringing their transport- a rather unremarkable, faded red Ford- to a stop outside a rather run down old apartment block.
If anyone lived there, they likely kept to themselves, and given this was a drop off, Tambrey could only suppose that the building was likely Rocket-controlled in some way.
Ambergris was supposed to be recovering, she understood, but still... the old buildings stood on deserted, almost eerie, streets through much of the place; it was still rather obvious why ghost types and the like enjoyed the place.

"I'm sure she'll be fine but, uh, if we need it, there's room on Pygi, and I, uh, have Lasi if we need any /more/ air transport..." Though she wasn't /so/ keen on riding the Crobat in the sunlight.

Tambrey had dressed in beige trousers with discrete zips around the thigh area (they could become shorts, though she'd rather they didn't need to) and low pockets on each side, boots (though brown lace-ups rather than her uniform boots) and a white T-shirt, topped with a loose, thin, pale blue jacket. Aside from her rather durable boots, she'd dressed for lightness in colour and weight.
A pair of goggles hung around her neck for when she would ride Pygi, but while driving, her glasses (with shaded lenses clipped to them to form sunglasses) were worn as usual.
Finally, her own hat, was a white cap with a piece of fabric that fell over her neck- her ponytail was pulled through the hole above the strap and buckle that tightened or loosened the fit.

Six pokéballs clipped to a rather plain brown belt: Pygi, Lasi, Ella, Oxytocin, Millicent, and Pakhet. Her two fliers had been an obvious choice, followed by Ella (when you bonded enough to mega-evolve a pokémon, you tended to realize just how much you could count on that pokémon), and then Pakhet for the Growlithe's tracking abilities and sense of smell. That had left too spots in her team: she filled them with the Cranidos and Luvdisc with a notion of type advantage against most desert dwellers, particularly their target, but mostly because they could only benefit from the experience, whether they found anything or not.

"Um. So. We're stopping here. We'll, uh, have a casual walk around and gradually get out onto the sands. I don't think there's anyone around, but tourists do get out this way sometimes, so we can always pass for... uh, well, tourists..." Even the goggles around her neck weren't likely to attract much attention, as, of course, even tourists had their flying types and it wasn't really -too bad- a cover; sometimes people came out here specifically when they'd heard about the strange Rapidash with a night sky mane... Rather like they actually had, in a way.

She made to get out of the car, taking the key to leave tucked into the front right wheel, and grabbing her own bag- a canvas satchel; it contained the basics of bottled water, sunscreen, a minimal first-aid kit, and a map, plus a small flashlight, just in case. Tambrey didn't have any real intention of wandering the desert after sundown but sometimes it was good to be prepared.
Her 'Rocketdex' was clad in a 'skin' to make it look far less 'Rocket-y'... More non-descript, but kind of fun, as she'd managed to find Marill stickers to place on the plain blue disguise she'd been provided with, and now kind of wished she were allowed to keep the 'dex that way all the time...

"We'll um, do sweeps of a grid once we're in the, uh, usual territory... We've got tomorrow as well /if/ we need it, but, uh, I'm kind of hoping we find everything we need by sundown because this town... We've got safehouses here to stay in but, um, I don't really like the place." She gestured vaguely at their surroundings; it was quite dilapidated.
