The notice had gone up the week before. It was a simple note, nothing incredibly special about it - but it announced an upcoming field trip to those who were interested. It had read as follows:
ALL DAY FIELD TRIP Meet by the busses at 6:00am Moonday the 24th if interested
The only indication that this had been a real posting was that it hadn't been taken down all week. There was no hint as to where they would be going, or who would be over seeing it, or much of anything: it only promised an all day field trip at an ungodly hour on the worst day of the week. Not entirely promising.
Strangely enough, it was real.
At 5:00am on the appointed day, Professor Winter could be seen waiting by the busses, dressed as exquisitely as ever despite the early morning. All she had with her was a few papers attached to a clipboard and a pen, and all she seemed to be doing was waiting for the fabled interested students. Or maybe her faculty partner for this trip.
THE MYSTERIOUS FIELD TRIP Your student has the chance to avoid their classes for the day, however, they not only have to get up super early, but they have no idea where they're going! If you are still interested in this not at all suspicious field trip, please do the following: - Have your student ICly approach Professor Winter OR Professor Zephron to sign in. - They must tell either Professor their name, their year, and their faction. - They can then either hang around outside, or go claim a seat on one of the busses. SIGN UPS WILL LAST UNTIL 11:59PM (EASTERN TIME) MONDAY AUGUST 24TH

The question was, really, how had he managed to get roped into this in the first place.
It wasn't like he'd been doing anything in particular. In fact, for the most part, he'd been simply minding his own business when he'd been accosted and dragged off to do student duty. And, well, here he was, strolling casually up to the bus - only to find that he wasn't the only one.
"Ah."
Professor Zephron, potions master extraordinaire and part time detention monitor, sidled up to Professor Winter, hands in his pockets, tail flicking behind him.
"Well then," he said, stopping in front of her. And then said nothing else, just quirked a brow.

Winter smiled down at Carlos as he introduced himself properly. No riddles, no tricks, just the information she wanted from him. She knew him already of course, but a formality was a formality, and she wrote down his information as it was supplied.
"Very good! Thank you, Carlos. Please go take a seat." She let him go with a nod of approval, and then turned to see the next student - then looked down at the familiar face, and the quirked brow. The Demoness stared blankly back for a heartbeat, and then offered a wide, teasing grin.
"Name, Year and Faction?"

Gabby looked demure, instead of his normal pompous arrogance, for this particular trip. He was at Professor Winter's side, giving her just the information she required, and nothing more.
"Gabriel, second year knob, from the ghost faction." His voice was clipped, and he found he had trouble meeting her eyes. He remembered exactly what this field trip might have been inspired from, and he knew he'd had nothing to do with it.
Because he couldn't have.
He trudged up into the bus immediately, pointedly ignoring the ghost near the front as he moved all the way to the back, as far as he could go, and slunk down in a seat until he was all but unseen. The window at the back of the bus began to frost up in his presence, indicating the kind of mood he was in - and just how approachable he might have been.

Puella was hovering, a little bit. Was this okay? Was she invited? Well, it was worth a try - and there was a surprising amount of creeple hovering around the buses at an hour like this. She approached at a bounce, because she'd been smart and had slept early the night before in preparation. Something about the idea of getting on a bus to get away from school caused trepidation in her, but on the other hand...she'd gone to Miasma Village and gained for herself the coolest pet ever. So that'd been a good thing, right?
She looked about, bleary-eyed, for blue, and approached Professor Winter happily when she did so. There was a little line of creeple around her waiting for the go-ahead, and Puella had to say she was surprised. She recognized some of those boils! So when it came to her turn she hovered, a bit spacily, before turning her attention back to Professor Winter. "O-oh! I'm Puella; I'm a first year demon!"

Professor Winter gave Professor Zephron a long, appraising look. Was he bluffing? Was he not? Chances were certainly in favour of the latter. Her lips pressed into a thin line, before easing into a more natural setting: namely, a small smile, the one she gave when she was attempting to look friendly.
"You're no fun, Professor Zephron." She grumbled so only he could hear her. "It's not my fault you look like a student." She hummed innocently before passing along the second clipboard which had, up until that very moment, been balancing on the hood of the nearby bus. "But if I must be stuck with you, you might as well help with the work."
Then she could turn and address the other students that had signed up in the mean time, jotting down the information as it was given, and directing them to either loiter outside or get on the bus now. Sidron was given a briefly worried look - but he would find that the interior of the bus was surprisingly roomy, even for someone of his stature - while Sibyl was given a blank stare, and the most brief wave back in return. This wasn't an Etiquette Class, she reminded herself. There was no need to correct unnecessary behaviour, if it was innocent. Gabriel, Brenley and Puella were given welcoming nods in addition to their direction, and then left to their own devices.
