INTERMEDIATE LEVEL CLASS:
NAME OF CLASS: Intermediate First Aid (must have passed beginner) PROFESSOR NAME: Professor Cricket
Prerequisites: - Must complete beginner first aid successfully - Must be Y2 or higher!
General information: This goes into using another individuals FEAR to heal them – thus promoting their own system to fix it.
The healing dummies have returned! However, this time it seems like Nurse Cricket has done a little bit worse to them than she did before, some of them being cut into rather deeply, and others bearing strange discolorations. The only explanation she really gives is that she put her ‘touch’ on them.
Which you really don’t want to know much more about.
“There is FEAR in those dummies. What I’d like you to do with them is draw their FEAR to the surface to pull away the injury that has been given them. This is an effective way to heal without tiring yourself out.” From the way Cricket explained it, it sounded like this was what a lot of her job consisted of.
“What you need to do,” she begins to go into more detail on what she expects, “is clean the area of contact. Once you’ve done that, use your FEAR to pull at the FEAR of the dummy. If you’ve ever been healed by me, hold onto that feeling from when I make contact. They feel quite similar and you’ll find your balance from that.”
For those who hadn’t been healed by Cricket before…? WHELP. She wasn’t about to demo any further than that.
Mechanics:
Roll 1d4 This is your accuracy.
Now Roll 1d10 and match your result below - subtract your accuracy roll from your result. If your roll will take you underneath ‘1’, go to 10 and continue down from there.
Match your rolls 1. Perfect! You’ve forced the condition to remove itself! 2. Uh oh! You’ve gone a little bit too far and your ‘patient’ gets really ill! 3. You do OK. It takes a little while longer to fix, but your work is passable. 4. Your work is poor. Cricket won’t pass it. 5. You do OK. It takes a little while longer to fix, but your work is passable. 6. Your work is poor. Cricket won’t pass it. 7. You do OK. It takes a little while longer to fix, but your work is passable. 8. Your work is poor. Cricket won’t pass it. 9. Uh oh! You’ve gone a little bit too far and your ‘patient’ gets really ill! 10. Perfect! You’ve forced the condition to remove itself!
TO PASS: You must either get a ‘Perfect’ or an ‘OK’.
Bonus Mechanics: None!

When the time came to pick out dummies Spinar picked up the one with a rather deep cut, not about to go for discoloration again. A sit of the think on his table and he focused, inhaling deeply before beginning. A moment to recall what had been said and the demon started to clean the area of contact, which was obviously the large cut across the dummies chest. A run to get supplies and Spinar started to clean carefully paying close attention to the dummy and not those around him for once.
As soon as the cut was cleaned he made quick work of putting the supplies back and throwing those used away. A slow walk back to the table he was working at and the demon looked over the dummy. Trying to recall how it felt when Cricket had healed him as she had said. Trying to get that feeling back and hold it before moving to place his hands over the cut. The so called balance she spoke of hadn't been felt yet but as soon as he started to release some FEAR out trying to coax the FEAR in dummy out. When he did something sparked.
While 'balance' might not have been the word he would have used for the feeling something was familiar and helping him. The determination for finishing the stupid class, getting his passing grade and being one step closer to ToTing helped the demon. A few moments into the pull and it was nearly all out. The dummy seemed to start to heal itself as what FEAR had been implanted into it started to come out via Spinar's own FEARS pull. The feeling was much less tiring than the few times Spinar had actually tried to use his healing abilities. As the FEAR came to the very surface the demon grinned widely and peered up for a split second to the nurse, annoyed she wasn't watching how fantastic he was in the moment.
A slide back and Spinar watched as the dummy started to heal more, the FEAR now gone and his own cut off from coaxing. He had done it and just as he was about to look up and inform the Nurse she was there. On him and looking over the dummy with a critical eye. Moments of silence, nods, hums and clicks of tongue came before finally the announcement that he had passed. And whats more with a perfect grade. Spinar chuckled and stretched his hands above his head to bask for a moment in the praise. Then he ran, ran like the wind to get the Jack out of the class. And maybe to post on a few social sites about just how cool he was now, and a text a few friends to gloat because come on they were never going to be as amazing as him.
None of them even stood a chance. (486 words)
