It really was so nice outside.... So nice a day that it'd be a shame to waste it indoors, listening to some professor or another droning on about boring crap. And so Verusha chose to skip classes today, and enjoy the crisp day. This wasn't uncommon for the reaper, who found little to no interest in her studies, and much preferred the hands on activities that the school had to offer instead.
Wearing her canine hoodie, that sported a pair of pointed ears on the hood, and a little fluffy tail on the back, the ghoul took to meandering around the school grounds, enjoying the cool wind that would tumble by and kiss along her cheeks and exposed legs. At her side, as always, was Cannon the fire hound familiar she'd had since she was a babe. His glowing, vigilant eyes kept sharp and alert as they traveled casually, the flames along his back licking gently and calm for the time being. There were a couple of other students who were lacking a class and thus had some free time to do as they pleased, walking by, or studying in designated areas outside, but none who really caught the reapers eye.
Finding a nice little spot of her own, a plusher patch of grass on the ground, beneath a looming tree, she popped a squat, and leaned back against it. Yes this was nice~ No cute boils to check out yet, but that'd surely be quelled eventually. Cracking an eye open that'd closed in her recline, she was greeted with a protective Cannon stationed in front of her, seated stock straight, constantly scanning around them. Grinning with amusement, the mage took a deep inhale, before exhaling. Right in front of the familiar began to spawn a creature of fire, building from the bottom up. It took on the shape and look of the pooch, except entirely composed of fire. Not only that... but it was far more animated, and playful than he, crouching down in an inviting fashion for games, giving an echoing bark that also consisted of the sound of a roaring fire. Cannon gave a stare to the created beast from his summoner, before snorting, and deciding to give into the offer to play.
And so the familiar and fire creature began to wrestle, growls and snarls exchanged, the grass surprisingly unharmed in the harmless fighting.

Cannon naturally tried to pin down his opponent, bared fangs going for the scruff, and non-lethal areas, which dogs in play typically did. The other fire-being did the same, snapping, nipping, and gnawing at areas that would annoy but not break skin. Some who may not know or understand the psychology of canines would probably see the display as an act of violence, or something to break up. But Verusha knew plenty the importance of such rituals, both physically and mentally for her greatest companion.
He'd been rather stiff lately, too... well more than the usual that any commoner would take him to be. Probably from the trip to that odd village. He was always a little more en guarde than usual when they'd travel to another territory, anticipating an ambush from someone--or something-- that came back with them...
Having toppled the created opponent over, Cannon was snapping at the flame beasts neck, when it wriggled out from under him, darting off with a few hardy barks, Cannon shooting off to take after it. But he paused abruptly when he noticed the sudden large presence nearby, instantly lifting his head up, and snapping his head about as his nose twitched ceaselessly. Honing in on the source, he locked onto the towering student that'd made an appearance in the open land, staring intently at him. The fire foe trotted over to Cannon to try and pull his attention, but soon joined in the staring, head cocking, and tail wagging lightheartedly. Verusha, who'd been chuckling and all smiles with watching the two tussle, shifted her attention as well as the two found interest in something other than each other. Also spotting the dark figure, her interest was instantly piqued, brow raising with intrigue, and mischief tickling her black lips.
With a small, subtle and unseen flick of her painted fingers which were concealed underneath her sleeves, the little fire pooch she made perked up and trotted right on over to the unknown student, looking up at him and giving that distorted bark again in greeting.

Verusha's brows both rose as she observed the dragons reaction to the firey creations approach, smile turning into a pleased grin of sorts. Slowly, she began to stand, dusting off her bottom a little, before another little wiggle of her fingers was made.
For the concoction of fire, it grew a pair of horns that were akin to the boil that was now face to face with him, even his tail growing in length too! Its body started to crackle like a comfy fire in a hearth, or one that was nestled in a bed of dried twigs in a forest. A comforting sound that expressed content on the creatures behalf. With that face so close now, the beast let its nose bump playfully against the strangers, before getting into a sudden crouch of his own, rump in the air, tail wagging wildly; an invitation to play!
But as Cannon sensed his reapers movement, and her approach towards the interacting pair, he snapped into action too. Straightening up, chest puffing up more, he waited until the ghoul was beside him to start his advance alongside her.
"Nice to see someone else who doesn't shy away from fire." Verusha spoke up once she was within earshot, Cannon stepping ahead of her to provide a buffer between she and the unknown male.

Cannon was watching the dragon wearily, every move made, or flutter to those flowing locks or clothing. Especially when the males attention lifted to his reaper. The flames that danced calmly along his back were now higher, and a little sharper with their flicks and wavers, to mirror the hounds disposition.
The fire minion instantly perked up when the fire ball was produced by the dragon, ears swiveled forward, glowing eyes attentive. When the ball was thrown, the beast tore off after it, tail streaming behind like a ribbon, providing fast sharp turns as it went to fetch as was intended.
Chuckling lightly, Verusha watched it take off, before letting her full attention pay to the boil before her. She openly checked him out, looking him up and down, "Is that so? Can't say I've ever met a dragon before. You'd be my first." she gave pause, grinning further as she let her pale gaze find his, "Not bad. Not bad at all." Cannon visually rolled his eyes from his reapers words, brow furrowing all the more too, flaming eyes flickering sharper.
A few seconds later, the little fire beast was trotting back to the trio, the fire ball toted along in its maw. Stopping by Sidron's feet, it placed the ball down before him, giving a little distorted bark of triumph for its feat!

Common around here? The way he'd phrased that sentence had the ghoul curious now. Comfortably, and casually, pocketing her hands into her jackets pockets, she shifted her weight from one hip to the other, "You new around here then?" she inquired. Not that she had any sort of knowledge of who went here and who didn't. She wasn't exactly popular, and certainly hadn't any real friends. Well. Maybe besides two, but one was graduated, and the other she hadn't seen in ages.
The pooch bumped its head under the massive claw that'd paid it affections, before his attention was instantly back on the fire ball tossed, bolting after it like a streak of light. Chuckling again, Verusha shook her head in amusement. "You sure seem familiar with dogs, though." or maybe something akin to them.
Cocky grin in place, she gave a small nod in confirmation, "Well what the honor this is. I sure am. Name's Verusha, and this is my other half Cannon." a tip of the head was made in gesture to Cannon who showed no signs of pleasure still in this meeting. "What do you go by, then?"

With the mention of Miasma Village brought up, the ghouls expression turned to one of mild surprise, before the grin already settled on her lips peeled wider to allow a few pearly whites to show, "Say, I was there on the visit there, that brought the bunch of you back with us. Man, had a blast over there. As did Cannon. Kicked tons of butt." she snickered, "Got a nice little friend from there, too." a rather fond look shifted on her face for a moment. "I'm surprised I hadn't noticed you sooner, then." but to be fair... she wasn't always where most students should be. So it surely wasn't too odd their not meeting. Besides, she'd not met any of the other Miasma student transfers.
The tossed fireball seemed to roll past the feet of a few other students who were on their way into the school, giving a little yelp from the dangerous element, along with the creature that was in hot pursuit of it. Squeezing it in its jaws a few time, as if it were squishy, the fire beast took its time trotting back to return it. This time the ball was placed right onto Sidron's foot. Bouncing over to Cannon, the fire creature tried to encourage the familiar to join in, licking and nipping at his face, making those crackling and popping sounds of an open bonfire. But the familiar remained stoic, stony features keeping hardened, unbudging from his protective station.
"Did you bring some of your creatures from over there, here?" though... given how large the dragon was, she wasn't sure the guy had enough room in his dorm to keep any extra bodies. Especially considering how large the Apex beings were.
With a small nod of acceptance from the exchanged name, her eyes narrowed playfully, as she glanced about, "So are you on an empty period of classes, or being a bad student and skipping like me?"

That was understandable. From the little she'd gathered during her time at Miasma village, it wasn't in the best of states. Probably hence why she'd gotten into all that fighting, and what not... "Hopefully things are better now, yeah?" she slowly asked, voice even a little lowered so as to seem less imposing on the subject. After all, it could be a sore one for the dragon. Although he had brought it up... so maybe not.
As the fire creature continued to pester and bother Cannon, the familiar finally put the beast in its place. With a sharp snarl, and n** at the scruff, he made the other submit, the creature lowering and rolling onto its back, tail still wagging as it wiggled faintly on the grass, clearly unperturbed. Snorting, the hound went back to ignoring it, and focusing back on Sidron.
Verusha gave a little purse of her lips, in a gesture of 'that's too bad' with the dragon's reply. She didn't know where she'd be without her pack. Heck, without Cannon, for that matter. But a Queen of canines and a dragon were totally different beings.
Smirking, she slowly turned on her heels, "I hear ya there. Well you're free to join us under this tree here." a hand pulled out from her pocket to point to the designated spot... which now seemed occupied by someone new, who was macking on someone else. But the ghoul seemed unbothered, perhaps even amused as her grin cracked wider with mischief, "just gotta clear it out some." with a subtle twitch of her fingers, flicking back then forward, the fire creature suddenly perked up. Standing, it trotted past Verusha, slowly growing larger, and beefing up, the flames along its body roaring loudly as it charged the pair making out.
With it barreling towards them, it was no wonder they yelped and screamed, scrambling quickly out of the way, before the thing burst into a display of splattering fire, disappearing just as soon without a scratch or singe to the grass or tree trunk.
"There we go." she peeked over her shoulder to eye Sidron again, sporting a winning toothy grin.

Returning to her chosen spot, she mulled quietly over the information Sidron provided on his home. She was lucky enough that her home far off didn't have such issues, but... it had other ones. Not as severe as what the Miasma village had undergone, of course. "I can understand why.." she murmured aloud, in concern to the elders hesitance. After an ordeal like that, who would want to extend or open their home to possible chaos again?
While the boil got comfortable, Verusha shamelessly watching for a moment, she too joined him. She lowered down to sit beside the dragon, before letting her torso fall to lay out on her back. Stretching her limbs some, her arms bent to provide a cushion behind her head. The little ears on her hoodie perked forward from push of the arms, her stark white eyes closing as she sighed silently in content. The grass really was nice right here for some reason.... "Fire has so many uses." she chuckled, a brief flitting of memories popping into her head with a few of her recent shenanigans.
Cannon made sure to place himself between the two, settling himself to curve protectively still around his reapers figure. His flames even hiked up in height again to provide a sort of veil between Sidron and Verusha, head turned to keep glaring at the boil from the corner of his eyes.
Peeking one of her own white eyes open, Verusha glanced to the large monster too, grinning lightly with his comment, "Sure, you can poke and prod all you'd like~" the bold ghoul mused.
