Davyne had received a text.
This, more than anything, was not normal. No-one aside from her scarents and the Hunter Dawson had her number, and to the best of her knowledge neither of those parties would send her a map to something called 'The Cave of Wonders'.
So she had asked around and in a rare moment of social competence, had actually managed to get the information she sought - The Cave of Wonders was a test, much like her classes, that one had to be invited to participate in.
Well then. She had set off, following the map (it was rather simple, thankfully) and after some navigating managed to find her destination.
She was not sure exactly what manner of test this was to be, but perhaps she'd find out once entering. With that in mind she'd strode on, into a cave -
- that looked terribly like the picture she'd seen in books of Christmasland. No! She stared in horror at the jolly decorations and pure white fluffy snow covering everything - this was no wonder, this was terrible!
But through it all there was a patch leading forward; if she wanted to pass this test, she would probably have to follow it. Unless this was a test of her logic, in which case she ought to turn around and leave the cave immediately.
Knowing what she knew of the school's tests, this was unlikely to be so, though.
Sighing wearily, she trudged on into the cave, staring disdainfully at the dreadful sight.

No. She couldn't do this. She'd only gotten as far as a few meters in when she turned around and decisively made her way back to the entrance - there was no way she was going to trudge around in any place this joyous, period. Test or no test!
And so Davyne made her way out of the Cave of Wonders.
