DISTORTED WORLD OF TRANCE: Haunted Town Prompt: You wake up in a town full of nothing and no one. Fog surrounds you on all sides, and snow is gently falling. You have a radio, but all there is on every frequency is static and white noise. How are you going to get out of this place...? It seems like some sort of Haunted Town... All players: You will need to navigate through the Haunted Town, but that may be more difficult than it first seems. Please follow the steps below. - All players may notice something odd: You look perfectly Human (if you are Human, then you just look civilian). You can't summon your weapon, you can't use Fear attacks, and you are wearing drab clothing that looks a bit run down. - If you DIE IN THE TRANCE you immediately are ejected from the Distorted Portal but suffer side effects of hallucinations for 24 hours where you continuously see everything covered in fog, and hear a buzzing in your ears that sounds a lot like white noise. You also occasionally hear an air raid siren... - It is recommended that players go through the rooms at the same pace (ie: I am player 1, in room 1, I roll 3 times and wait for the others before ICly proceeding to room 2 together, though they can skip players that become inactive after 24 hours). gaia_crown Step 1: Building 1 You are in the abandoned hospital, looking for anyone or anything, when an air raid siren begins to play. Paint flies off the walls, blood coats the floor, The lights go out, and you're forced to rely on a flashlight to get you by-- and rustling can be heard all around you. Something is coming.- Roll 1d10. You must do this three times. - If in ANY of your dice rolls you roll 1, you hear a loud crack, your flashlight turns onto a frozen figure, with the outline of a nurse, headband and all. But the light sets them into motion, and faster than you can move, they turn and crack a pipe against your skull. YOU ARE DEAD, and wake up from trance. - For each time you roll even you lose 20% of your total HP. You feel wearier... - If you pass, proceed to STEP 2. gaia_crown STEP 2: Building 2 You find yourself in an old elementary school, missing its roof and most of its walls. The snow is falling harder than ever, and you can hear crying somewhere further on. Every classroom is torn asunder, the blackboards all have scribbled out drawings, and deep gouges in them, as if run through by claws. - Roll 1d6. You must do this three times. - For each time you roll even you lose 20% of your total HP. You feel wearier... -If any of your dice rolls to a 1 you find a little girl, curled up in a corner, openly weeping. She is thin, small, and absolutely filthy. But when she turns to you, her eyes are black from lid to lid, and her teeth are razor sharp. air raid siren begins to play. The darkness closes in, suffocating you to a slow, painful death. You are DEAD, and wake up from trance. - If you manage to make it through, you are on Step 3. gaia_crown Step 3: Building 3 You're stuck in a labyrinth, with dead ends at every turn. Roll 1d6. You need to do this four times. - Whenever you roll even, you hear a strange scraping noise behind you, as if someone is carrying something very heavy, walking right behind you. You see nothing. - If you roll three evens, a huge, hulking figure with peeled back skin openly bleeding starts to track you. No matter where you go, it follows, and eventually it closes in, tearing its teeth into your flesh, for it is starving. You are DEAD, and wake up from trance. - If you manage to pass through this phase you are at the end. gaia_crown Step 4: THE END. - You finally see it, the end ahead of you. Cautiously, you run towards it one step at a time. As you open it up - - You're back at the start with the surviving team members. What is going on? Suddenly, you see the fog curling around your feet, growing thicker now. The snow has turned to ash, so hot that it burns your skin. The earth opens up beneath your feet, revealing an eternally burning coal fire. You tumble, down and down, hitting metal structures that shatter your bones, until you hit the bottom, and - YOU ARE DEAD. Halloween Raffle Bonus! You may collect 3 Raffle Tickets for completing this Distortion World! You may collect 2 Raffle Tickets for attempting. Both require at least 600 words. Go HERE to claim!

He wasn't really sure what the hell was going on. How he got to that town or where that town even was. All around him was just fog and emptiness; nothing and no one for miles. Rhys didn't hear anything either, no even a peep from Zephira, and it made him feel oddly alone.
He patted himself down to check and make sure everything was there, and in his pocket he found a radio. A swell of hope until he turned it on and all he got was static; his hopes plummeted to rock bottom. He shoved the useless contraption back into his pocket and started the slow walk toward...well, he wasn't sure where but he was walking straight ahead.
"Hello?" he called, hoping for someone to answer him. A sane someone, preferably, but in a town like this he would take what he could get.

She jumped through the portal, thinking it would teleport her to the opposite side of the island or something. Instead, she found herself in the middle of a fog it seemed. "Drae? Hello?" When she received no answer, she began to panic. Where the ******** was her weapon?! She lifted up her shirt to check her belly button only to find nothing. She checked everywhere only to find a radio.
Mercy quickly turned the radio on. "H-Hello?! Anyone here?!"
She kept talking to the radio as she started wandering through the fog. Hopefully some one would answer...

Of course the first building he would come to was a ******** hospital. At least it wasn't the first haunted one he'd come to that year. The one in Delta was one hell of a place to walk into. This one wasn't too different but for some reason it was just on a different plane as far as creepiness went. With a grimace he went ahead inside and began to meander the halls when out of nowhere he could hear an air raid sirene that started to slowly but surely gain in volume until it completely filled the halls and his ears.
He wasn't sure what else to do but keep walking, of course, with a pained expression on his face and both hands covering his ears. It kind of helped, but not by much. There was a chance he'd find something to help him if he kept on walking though, so he walked on.
It was hard to concentrate when you were being deafened by a damn siren, though...

The halls were empty, so were all the rooms, and he was managing alright so far. Until of course the lights went ********!" he yelled. At least he had a flashlight, though it forced him to lower one of his hands so half his head was throbbing from the siren while the other wasn't suffering quite as much. He grit his teeth and walked on, hoping to run into someone.

It felt like he'd been walking for ages. He was exhausted, and he didn't doubt that he probably looked as much. Every single ********' room was empty, there was blood everywhere and that damned siren was still blowing away. He wasn't sure how much longer he could keep going, but after going up and down and going down all the halls and checking every single room it was probably about time he took his leave.
With a grimace he walked on and eventually found the exit.

So the first thing she found...Just happen to be a creepy a** hospital...Great. Mercy cautiously walked towards the building, about to ascend the steps when a loud booming siren sounded off, piercing her ears. "Oh ******** whyyyy!?" She covered her ears and bum rushed into the hospital, tripping over an upturned tile on the floor, ripping a hole in her leggings and scrapping her knee. "Ow! Oh god damn it!"

She made sure she was a bit more careful about where she ran, looking for a room to hole up in until the siren stopped. She found a small room with a patient bed and a wheelchair. Strangely enough, there was a heart monitor....and it was going off as if there was a patient in the bed still, which promptly freaked her out enough to get up and move once more.

Because she was in such a hurry to find a place to duck and cover that she failed to notice the piece of glass that was on the floor. She fell again, getting some glass stuck in her forearm, wailing out in pain. Why oh why did this hospital have so many hazards and creepy devices?! It was like it was out to hurt her or something and that's not cool! If she had Drae, he would be telling her to calm down and assess the area to figure out where she was at and how she could take advantage of her current situation. Mercy whimpered and held her injured arm close to her body.
God she missed her weapon...

He found himself in an elementary school next. Schools had never been his favorite place in the world--they ranked even lower than hospitals on his list of places he genuinely disliked--and old abandoned schools smack dab in the middle of a haunted town just made this one even worse. Still, there didn't seem to be any other buildings for miles, probably because of the fog, so he went ahead and wandered through.
"Hello?" he called, sounding a bit more nervous than he wanted to. "Anyone here?"

It took him a moment to realize that the roof had been torn off of basically the entire school, maybe with an exception here and there. He peeked into a classroom and noticed that snow was starting to pile up. On the blackboard were a bunch of scribbles, much like all the other rooms he'd already looked into, but at the foot of the blackboard were what he thought looked like footprints.
He narrowed his eyes at the footprints imprinted one moment, then were gone the next. There was no one else, and he felt the hair on the back of his neck stand on end as he backed away.

The longer he stayed in that place the creepier the feeling he got. At one point he could hear crying from a distance but whenever he tried to get closer it either disappeared or moved or got even further. It was getting clearer and clearer to him that he wouldn't find anything there. No one else was around, nothing else was happening except maybe all that crying.
And the marks left on all of the blackboards led him to believe that there was something there, and it wasn't friendly. So he made for the exit...

Mercy kept on running through the hospital till till she made it outside, stumbling on the steps as she rushed out, keeping her ears covered even if she couldn't hear the sirens any more. She stopped running once she realized she was in the middle of what appeared to be no where, seeing fog in every direction she turned, hearing things she knew where not there. When the feeling became more than she could bare, the fog making her body feel heavy, she ran once more. This time she didn't stop until she found her way in front of a building.
More like an abandoned elementary school, which was better than the hospital.
Mercy stumbled inside, falling to the floor. She tried to get up, only to scream out loud when a sharp pain ran through her ankle. Apparently she managed to either break or sprang her ankle some where and she prayed it was the latter. If she broke it, she some how knew it would be the end of her. She managed to get up more carefully, hobbling through the hallway while she looked at all the errie drawings. She thought she could hear crying some where and while she loved kids, she didn't think any kids would be hanging around this area. Best to steer clear.

She kept hobbling, stiffening when the crying got louder the more she was trying to get away from it. Her heart began to pound loudly in her chest, and she hobbled faster, using the walls as a support, looking behind her rather than in front of her where she should've been looking. If she'd only payed attention...

Mercy screamed when she saw the child, backing up and falling on her rear. The crying child looked at her with pure black eyes, her sickly grey skin clinging to her skeletal frame. The last thing Mercy heard was the sound of a child-like scream as the siren played once more, her vision going dark.
She woke up in cold sweat, eyes wide and fearful. She ran her hand through her hair, trying to get the ringing out of her ears as she walked.
