[Bonfire PRP] Stick Quest [Double Dogs][Fin]

Dogs's feet were twitching. This was fairly normal, for she was asleep. She had wandered into a nice little grove and had flopped over, plum tuckered out from the day's activity. In her dream, there were sticks everywhere. Everything was sticks. The trees were sticks. The sticks were sticks. The kin were sticks. Her tail wagged as she slumbered- this was the best dream.

The Swamp Is Full of Free Dogs was having a nap. It looked like a great nap, from what Bark could tell. He sat by her, on high alert to make sure that nobody came by to hurt his bestest friend. Occasionally, his tail thumped on the ground as it wagged from side to side. What would be a good gift for Dogs? Stick? No, too obvious! Sticks were too too obvious. Looking around the quiet clearing, Bark frowned to himself.

...Flowers! Girls liked flowers and dogs liked flowers! And his good friend Dogs was a Girl Dog! Hopping to his hooves, he scuttled off to find some scrum-diddly-umptious flowers for his very good friend when she woke up.

When he returned, he lay the flowers beside her, panting. What a GREAT surprise!

As she slept, something tickled Dogs' nose. She sneezed herself awake, then looked around, wondering what had startled her. She rose with a start, but slipped on a patch of wet grass and yelped. "Who put that there? Who put the wet on the grass?" Her ankle twinged, so she kicked a few times in an attempt to shake it off.

...Whoops! It seemed flowers had not been the most perfect gift! Ears drooping, Bark had the decency to look embarrassed- and yelped in surprise when Dogs slipped and hurt her ankle. Oh no! The absolute worst thing! Flitting about in a panic, he leapt this way and that, trying to figure out what to do. Unfortunately, Bark was not the smartest puppy in the world, and found himself slipping on the very same slick grass. He yelped unhappily, stumbling to his feet with a terrible whine.

"This isn't fun anymoooooooore," he cried, whimpering to his friend as he walked. "No food or stick is worth this!"

"The pretty flowers!" Dogs howled. "They lied! They were like some magical thing and so pretty but the grass was so slippery and-"

And she fell on the ground again.

"Who is responsible? Who put the water here? Why is the grass so hurtful here? Somebody must have done this. This is a plot, a plot I say! Somebody is conspiring against us in a most irredeemable way!"

Oh no!!! He was!!! He was the culprit!!! Bark opened his mouth to say something, to reply to the unspoken accusation, and WHOOPS there he went again! Bumbling around the floor, he whined terribly. The wooooorst! He did not like this clearing at all!

"L-let's go back," he whined, stumbling back to his hooves. With no desire to seek food anymore, Bark hobbled back in the direction of the campfire.
