TENDAJI 2016 WRAP UP!
A lot has happened this year, and we want to thank all of you for your support and participation! Without you, we wouldn't have such amazing characters, plots, or the motivation to run our events. Also, because of you all, we've got some big events (both Meta and contests) planned for 2017, and we can't wait to share them with you!
But that will have to stay a surprise.
For now, we've got some news to cover as we wrap up 2016!
NEW RACE EVENT!
If you haven't checked out Page 2 yet, please do! There is a major event going on for our new races, and you do not need an open slot to enter. That's right, anyone can enter to win these amazing premades made by our staff team! As we go through this event, questing will be closed as we want to encourage you to enter the event! Once everything is finished, questing (and customs) will be opened!
GROWTHS ARE OPEN!!
Thank you for your patience as we do some last minute shifting. Growths are now open, but please be aware that some of your artist options have changed. Specifically, Kaname has gone on a short hiatus as she adjusts to her new shop role: Artist/Manager.
We are so grateful for everything Kana has done these past few years, and we hope the role shift will allow her to increase her IC participation in the shop. We will keep you updated when she becomes available for growths.
NEW RACES...NEW CLASS?!!
Oh yeah, did we mention there's a new class joining Tendaji? You asked, and we listened! We are bringing in a new magic class that takes advantage of the technology of the Lightning Earthlings (and Lightning Hybrids in a Lightning Academy Sector). At this time, it is limited to Lightning Earthlings because of their belief in technology. Without further stalling, this class is:
Alchemist Magic Class Transfigurist > Alchemist > Arcanist
...also, this magic class utilizes dual pistols or a blunderbuss that shoots magic-bullets.
Yes, they cast spells by shooting them out of guns. Let that sink in.
So how does that work exactly? Well much like staff or runes, these weapons are tools to channel the magic, in the form of bullets, which they shoot at their enemy. So the bullets themselves don't do damage, but explode into the magical spell (which you purchase like any normal magic class). Pretty cool, huh? All of this info can be found in the class thread.
On top of this info, we will be updating the FAQ shortly to cover the newly discovered world.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Once again, this year couldn't have happened without you all! We are so excited to begin the next year off on a strong note with this premade event, as well as the familiar creation contest. We can't wait to see the new quests you think up, or the characters customed into reality. We know 2017 is going to be bigger and better in terms of events, and can't wait to explore them with you. So thank you everyone, from the bottom of our hearts. We wish you the Happiest of Holidays and hope you have a fantastic New Year.
~ Tendaji Staff

Questing is Open! (January 12th, 2017) Hey everyone! Thank you to everyone who participated in our new race event and the familiar event! We are still judging the familiars, but all of the new race pre-mades have been awarded. Congrats new owners! Because the events are officially over, quests are now open! Please be advised there are certain hybrids who are currently unavailable to quest at this time. We recommend everyone review the Quest Setup Thread prior to posting your quests. Additionally, we are happy to announce Kaname423 has returned from her hiatus! She is now available for growths! Welcome back, Kana! If you have any questions feel free to PM Suhuba or ask in the FAQ thread. We can't wait to see what quests you all submit, especially for our new races!

(February 4th, 2017)
The staff wish to take a moment to address some information that has recently been spread. In the staff forum, we have a number of guides we provide to artists and managers so they can better complete their jobs and follow the standards of our shop. These standards focus on the design aesthetics of Tendaji, a world built around unique races with unique traits. I'm sure many of you are here because you enjoy the design, and we want to ensure that characters continue to reflect said design.
Specifically, we have a guide for how an artist can complete breedings. This guide is for them to understand how they design a character after an owner requests their traits, and features typical frequencies of traits that hybrids may have. This guide has not been made public at this time because we want to ensure breedings contain a random nature, as in a unique mix of parent traits to create a unique child. In the past, we've found that having guides for our staff better assists them in creating their work in terms of their freedom of design. Anything we feel that needs to be made available to owners is available in public facing places like threads and FAQ.
We are listening, and as staff we cannot stress that enough. During this time, we've had a few people approach us requesting more information be available in terms of breedings because of the information in the guides, and we are working on making that happen. In fact, we have been working on a better way for information to be available in forums that are clear and to the point. The first step of this process is splitting up the FAQ into more specific threads, in their specific subforums. One such thread is the new Breeding FAQ.
We've taken the questions from the FAQ, some of the guidelines we follow, and general questions people ask, and have thrown them into this thread for your reference. We work to provide as much information as we can to you, the owners, so you can feel comfortable with our setting. As we've explained above, some of the guidelines we have will still stay internal, as they are mostly artist based to follow the design ideals of our shop. Breedings, while adjustable, will always maintain a random design to the colorist/artist desire. This is a standard we wish to continue to maintain as a feature of our shop.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the mule, or use one of our new FAQ threads!

Updates to Breedings (February 15th, 2017)
Hey everyone! We hope you're all having a great time with your new (and established!) characters. We wanted to take a second to announce a new option for our breeding: nearly identical twins!
The idea for this is that rather than choosing specific traits for your breeding, you can opt to leave your breeding up to the artist, but you will be guaranteed almost identical babies! Babies all have varying hairstyles, but their physical traits they're born with, like eye color, ear shape, hair color, skin tones, etc will be exactly the same except for one minor trait!
These changes have been updated in both breeding threads and can be seen in further detail below heart We hope everyone enjoys and as always, if you have questions, feel free to ask Suhuba or in the Breeding FAQ!
Quote: Trait Options
|| Standard breedings are totally random. The artist in charge of the breeding is able to choose everything about the babies from gender to skin color to hairstyle, etc. || For an additional 50mil, parents may choose up to three traits for each of their children: xxxxTraits you can select are listed here. OR || For an additional 50mil, parents may choose to have nearly identical twins. xxxxWhat this means is the babies from the breeding will have all of the same traits except for one minor trait (like crystal color, eye color, ear shape, etc.). xxxxOwners will not be able to choose any of the traits, artists will get 100% full reign over what the babies will look like, but they are guaranteed to look nearly identical. xxxxThis does not include hairstyle, Hairstyles will vary per baby.
