Genetics!
(November 28th, 2016)

It's been asked before in our FAQ and we wanted to make it official!

Quote:
Do mixed breeds with Shifter in them shift?
Halfbreeds and others with part shifter really depend on a case by case basis. Most half shifters do not inherit their changing colors and others only inherit part, like changing eyes or changing skin and not both. The odds of a mixed breed keeping their shifting appearance is about 1:4, and even less if there is less than half-shifter in them.

We've made a nifty thread in our Breeding subforum that will house our list of shifter hybrids who are able to, or not able to, shift. heart

The list is for anyone who would like to participate who already has an active character, and will be applied toward any future shifter hybrids in the shop.

Please head on over to the new thread and check it out!

(Even if you don't want to roll the dice with your already accepted character we would still like to know what you chose!)

TENDAJI 2016 WRAP UP!

A lot has happened this year, and we want to thank all of you for your support and participation! Without you, we wouldn't have such amazing characters, plots, or the motivation to run our events. Also, because of you all, we've got some big events (both Meta and contests) planned for 2017, and we can't wait to share them with you!

But that will have to stay a surprise.

For now, we've got some news to cover as we wrap up 2016!

NEW RACE EVENT!

If you haven't checked out Page 2 yet, please do! There is a major event going on for our new races, and you do not need an open slot to enter. That's right, anyone can enter to win these amazing premades made by our staff team! As we go through this event, questing will be closed as we want to encourage you to enter the event! Once everything is finished, questing (and customs) will be opened!

GROWTHS ARE OPEN!!

Thank you for your patience as we do some last minute shifting. Growths are now open, but please be aware that some of your artist options have changed. Specifically, Kaname has gone on a short hiatus as she adjusts to her new shop role: Artist/Manager.

We are so grateful for everything Kana has done these past few years, and we hope the role shift will allow her to increase her IC participation in the shop. We will keep you updated when she becomes available for growths.

NEW RACES...NEW CLASS?!!

Oh yeah, did we mention there's a new class joining Tendaji? You asked, and we listened! We are bringing in a new magic class that takes advantage of the technology of the Lightning Earthlings (and Lightning Hybrids in a Lightning Academy Sector). At this time, it is limited to Lightning Earthlings because of their belief in technology. Without further stalling, this class is:

Alchemist Magic Class
Transfigurist > Alchemist > Arcanist

...also, this magic class utilizes dual pistols or a blunderbuss that shoots magic-bullets.

Yes, they cast spells by shooting them out of guns. Let that sink in.

So how does that work exactly? Well much like staff or runes, these weapons are tools to channel the magic, in the form of bullets, which they shoot at their enemy. So the bullets themselves don't do damage, but explode into the magical spell (which you purchase like any normal magic class). Pretty cool, huh? All of this info can be found in the class thread.

On top of this info, we will be updating the FAQ shortly to cover the newly discovered world.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Once again, this year couldn't have happened without you all! We are so excited to begin the next year off on a strong note with this premade event, as well as the familiar creation contest. We can't wait to see the new quests you think up, or the characters customed into reality. We know 2017 is going to be bigger and better in terms of events, and can't wait to explore them with you. So thank you everyone, from the bottom of our hearts. We wish you the Happiest of Holidays and hope you have a fantastic New Year.

Questing is Open!
(January 12th, 2017)

Hey everyone! Thank you to everyone who participated in our new race event and the familiar event! We are still judging the familiars, but all of the new race pre-mades have been awarded. Congrats new owners!

Because the events are officially over, quests are now open! Please be advised there are certain hybrids who are currently unavailable to quest at this time. We recommend everyone review the Quest Setup Thread prior to posting your quests.

Additionally, we are happy to announce Kaname423 has returned from her hiatus! She is now available for growths! Welcome back, Kana!

If you have any questions feel free to PM Suhuba or ask in the FAQ thread. We can't wait to see what quests you all submit, especially for our new races!

Adoptables and Customs
(January 22th, 2017)

We hope everyone is having a great weekend! We wanted to remind you that the following adoptables are currently available. If you are interested, make sure to hurry and submit your form, as the adoption event ends tomorrow at 9pm EST. Click on the image below to be directed to the page for each adopt!

Also, we wanted to let you know that customs will be opening on Wednesday, February 1st and will stay open one week.

As per our new customs rule, you must have an accepted quest in order to enter for customs. Staff will be working hard to ensure quests will be critted in a timely manner! However, if you wait until the last day to create a quest, you risk the chance it might not be approved in time. So please make sure to get your quests posted as soon as possible if you are looking to enter customs!

If you have any questions or concerns, please reach to Suhuba. Thank you and we can't wait to see what characters you create!

Updates!
(January 29th, 2017)

Hey everyone! As some of you may have noticed, we've been making a few key changes to Tendaji lately. First and foremost, we've updated our Front Page of the main thread! It has a sleek new makeover with some awesome new art and graphics for easy access to info.
Our Class and Races threads have also undergone a nifty change!

Special Attacks!

After the long wait, Beast Masters finally have an updated special attack for battle, and our new Alchemist class has been updated with their special attacks as well! [Special Attacks thread]

Customs!

Our customs will be opening soon! Customs will be open from Feb. 1st to Feb. 8th.
As announced previously, please note that Tendaji has updated its policy on customs and we no longer offer customs to un-approved characters. This means that all characters must have an approved quest thread before they can be submitted for customs.

Thanks again everyone and we hope you all enjoy!

The staff wish to take a moment to address some information that has recently been spread. In the staff forum, we have a number of guides we provide to artists and managers so they can better complete their jobs and follow the standards of our shop. These standards focus on the design aesthetics of Tendaji, a world built around unique races with unique traits. I'm sure many of you are here because you enjoy the design, and we want to ensure that characters continue to reflect said design.

Specifically, we have a guide for how an artist can complete breedings. This guide is for them to understand how they design a character after an owner requests their traits, and features typical frequencies of traits that hybrids may have. This guide has not been made public at this time because we want to ensure breedings contain a random nature, as in a unique mix of parent traits to create a unique child. In the past, we've found that having guides for our staff better assists them in creating their work in terms of their freedom of design. Anything we feel that needs to be made available to owners is available in public facing places like threads and FAQ.

We are listening, and as staff we cannot stress that enough. During this time, we've had a few people approach us requesting more information be available in terms of breedings because of the information in the guides, and we are working on making that happen. In fact, we have been working on a better way for information to be available in forums that are clear and to the point. The first step of this process is splitting up the FAQ into more specific threads, in their specific subforums. One such thread is the new Breeding FAQ.

We've taken the questions from the FAQ, some of the guidelines we follow, and general questions people ask, and have thrown them into this thread for your reference. We work to provide as much information as we can to you, the owners, so you can feel comfortable with our setting. As we've explained above, some of the guidelines we have will still stay internal, as they are mostly artist based to follow the design ideals of our shop. Breedings, while adjustable, will always maintain a random design to the colorist/artist desire. This is a standard we wish to continue to maintain as a feature of our shop.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the mule, or use one of our new FAQ threads!

Updates to Breedings
(February 15th, 2017)

Hey everyone! We hope you're all having a great time with your new (and established!) characters. We wanted to take a second to announce a new option for our breeding: nearly identical twins!

The idea for this is that rather than choosing specific traits for your breeding, you can opt to leave your breeding up to the artist, but you will be guaranteed almost identical babies! Babies all have varying hairstyles, but their physical traits they're born with, like eye color, ear shape, hair color, skin tones, etc will be exactly the same except for one minor trait!

These changes have been updated in both breeding threads and can be seen in further detail below heart We hope everyone enjoys and as always, if you have questions, feel free to ask Suhuba or in the Breeding FAQ!

Quote:
Trait Options

|| Standard breedings are totally random. The artist in charge of the breeding is able to choose everything about the babies from gender to skin color to hairstyle, etc.
|| For an additional 50mil, parents may choose up to three traits for each of their children:

xxxxTraits you can select are listed here.
OR
|| For an additional 50mil, parents may choose to have nearly identical twins.

xxxxWhat this means is the babies from the breeding will have all of the same traits except for one minor trait (like crystal color, eye color, ear shape, etc.).
xxxxOwners will not be able to choose any of the traits, artists will get 100% full reign over what the babies will look like, but they are guaranteed to look nearly identical.
xxxxThis does not include hairstyle, Hairstyles will vary per baby.

Breeding Updates
(March 7th, 2017)

We hope everyone is enjoying our break between events! We're working hard to release our next event but in the meantime we would like to announce a couple of key updates to the earthling breeding system.

|| We have organized the breeding thread to include special classes and any restrictions regarding them.
|| Earthling x NPC breeding has had an update. The NPC must be the same race as the character applying for breeding. (This means if your character is a leaf earthling, their NPC must also be a leaf earthling. If your character is a hybrid, for example shifter and leaf, the NPC must be either shifter OR leaf.)
|| Earthling x NPC breeding now consists of three forms. It is the same information as before the change, but just now in a more organized manner, but please be sure to read through the order the forms are posted!

You can find the extent of the updates here in the Earthling Breeding thread.

If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to bring it to the attention of staff or the mule, or to post in our Breeding FAQ.

Thank you!

Organizing and Updates!
(March 10th, 2017)

Hey everyone! Another quick update from staff! We realize that our FAQ is pretty in depth and sometimes overwhelming to look through so we've decided to break it down into sections for everyone to hopefully make it easier to navigate.

General FAQ
Breeding FAQ
Battle FAQ
Beast Battle FAQ
Crafting FAQ
World Event and Meta FAQ

The General FAQ is still located in the main forum as always. Our other, more specific FAQ can be found in the sub-forums in which they offer information for (breeding FAQ is in breeding forum, battle FAQ is in battle forum, etc).

Stages and Growth Thread

Our stages and growth thread has also undergone a major overhaul in order to find information easier. You can see the new layout here

Crafting Glasses!

Up until now the only way that a character could have glasses is if they were a Yaeli.

Please note that glasses have officially been added to the crafting system! This means that if a character was not created with glasses in the prentice stage (including yaeli earthlings) they will be able to get them through the crafting system. The only way to get glasses for a character that does not already have them is to buy them from the custom item section of the Merchant's Alley once a character has crafted them, they cannot be acquired any other way!

If you have any questions feel free to ask us personally, or post in one of our FAQ threads heart
