42! Only joking. [ducks] By passage of emails, money, and a lot of convincing we managed it. I know it sounds dumb, and very very improbable, but I don't know why I'd lie. That's just silly.
Anyways, I'm basically under contract for many things, and you have to keep in mind that it wasn't quite finished, but it was terrific, to be brief. It kept very well with Douglas's vision and style. The HoG sets were fantastic, Zaphod's second head was the butt of many jokes that may be edited out [though I certainly hope not]. The story was well padded-out, but not too far with the exception of one thing: the love story between Trillian and Arthur. It was just...unneeded. Out of place.
Many of the visuals that I saw were fantastic, the whole thing was like a spectacular feast for the eyes, even in its unfinished state. The guide is like in the original- it interrupts at unlikely times, spoiling the drama of the film, but it flows nicely together. There were some hilarious scenes that had me doubled over with laughter, particularly the "plushies" bit [which, sadly, may be edited out as may be many of the jokes and scenes- the movie did seem rather long].
Ask me questions, I tell no lies...
