He had worked with Oil Press to catch a brace of rabbits to offer up, making sure to capture them outside the tribal land. He had brought a crocodile tooth, bartered from Blood in addition to the food.

This clan was not known for embracing other kin and she rather liked the cheerful Acha. Wished he had better sense to seek a legendary not of the Westfen but it couldn’t be helped.

(Couldn't help but to shove Burning Bush's great grandkidlet at her too/also to keep Rill on track... he gets distracted easily)

Rift in Stone was out walking the borders of their territory when he spotted the brightly colored pair through the trees. Just a flash out of the corner of his eye in the distance, obscured by trees and foliage, but it was enough to get him to investigate.

He changed his course immediately and approached with sure, efficient steps. Used to navigating the mangrove roots and water of these lands, he moved much quicker than the pair. He curved his path so that when he emerged from behind a tree, he was in front of them, tall, muscular form imposing.

"You are approaching Westfen territory," he announced coolly, his gaze primarily focused on the Acha. He did not care much for the doe either, but she was Kimeti. Taking note of the rabbits and what looked to be a crocodile tooth, he nodded at the Acha before saying, "Your kind are not welcome here. If you are looking to offer gifts to Burning Bush in exchange for her blessing or her wisdom, you may wait here. She will know of your presence."

Moments later, a dark owlcat appeared in the branches of a tree. Though its tail was ablaze, the tree did not catch fire. It leaped from the branches, and when it touched the ground it was an owlcat no longer. In front of them stood a black mare with blazing markings and bright eyes. She turned to the acha and the kimeti doe and asked:

"What brings you here? I can hardly imagine it was for the company of dear Chasm."

Rill hummed slightly, looking at the kimeti with his mouth full of rabbit and set it down. "Okay," sort of a imposing wasn't he? Sort of hot, if he liked that sort of buck, and well, he might end up talking to Blood after this. He cheerfully ogled the buck commenting his details to memory.

"Stop that," Oil Press hissed, giving her companion a nudge at his blatant rudeness. She jerked her head up, watching the owlcate move and ooh, that was what she had came for.

"A blessing, if you would grant it," Rill replied politely, focused on the dark doe that had once been an owlcat. "For me, not my companion, she is here to keep me out of trouble." He gave a slightly rakish smile.

"Mostly to keep you from getting distracted," Oil Press replied and nodded politely to the mare. "I hope we haven't interrupted anything."

"A blessing?"

Burning Bush tilted her head as she let her gaze drift from the doe to the acha. Rift in Stone stood a few paces behind her, clearly willing the encounter to go by faster. Darling boy, she thought to herself with something akin to fondness.

"A blessing I can give, but I do not give freely. What have you to offer in return for such a gift?"

Rill picked up the rabbits, moving to lay them in front of Burning Bush an then returned to his companion to take the crocodile tooth. "I offer these in return," he said, standing a polite distance back.

The acha buck laid down a couple rabbits at her feet. Burning Bush waited. A few rabbits were nothing. But then the acha produced a crocodile tooth and that was something. Not exactly valuable, but interesting. And interesting was worth a lot to the mare.

She watched the buck move back, with an odd sort of reverence. Or maybe he was scared of getting burnt.

"Very well, a blessing then to your children: may they be swifter than rabbits."

Burning Bush leaned down and touched the buck's forehead gently. The flames of her body flared up before dying down.

When they had faded, the mare was gone, and there was no owlcat in sight. The deed was done, and she'd left Rift in Stone to carry her spoils back to the the clan. An observant eye would have noticed the missing crocodile's tooth.

If there had been no one watching, or just other tribe members, he would have given a slight snort or huff at Burning Bush's dramatics (and that she was using him to carry the rabbits back when she was more than capable of doing it herself), but these were outsiders, with an Acha no less.

So he stepped forward, a look of faint disdain on his face for the pair, before dropping his head down in a quick swoop to take the rabbits into his jaws. As he turned to leave, he jerked his head, a clear instruction to get going. Without a backwards glance, he trotted away.

If they thought that meant they were free to stay or go at their leisure though, they would be wrong. Not long after Rift in Stone disappeared between the trees, two eagles landed on nearby branches to stare at the pair. They would find these two eagles tailing them until they were well off Wesften grounds.

Thanks Mins!

Rill gave a slight twitch, surprised at the blessing and kept from shielding away as the flames flared up and ooh, she was gone. He glanced about, and blinked at Rift gave a soft snort at him. Please, Blood was scary, this buck wasn't.

"Did you see that?" He chattered, joining Oil Press as they started back towards the shoreline. "Swifter then rabbits!"

"Considering we caught rabbits," she muttered but sighed, nodding as the acha cheerfully babbled. We are lucky she didn't say they will spawn like rabbits.
