How Does Depression Physically Hurt?

I have seen that "Depression Hurts" commercial tons of times.... but I still don't get how depression can physically hurt you. I mean excluding if you cut yourself or anything like that....

I dunno...Like when you're having a super-shitty day. Like your boyfriend of 6 months dumps you, you get in a huge fight with your best friend, your gramma just died, and you smell sort of day. You just get that feeling of sinking and a dull ache all over your body. Not too much physical pain, but enough to know it's there...

When you're depressed there are certain chemical imbalances.... and whether you feel it physically or not.... it destroys things that are vital to having a good life.... (not destroying physical things... but like.... the chemicals and junk.... ) sorry I can't explain it in detail.... if I knew what they're called I'd tell ya.

Since I have personal experience with this I'll explain it.

when you are depressed you are chemically imbalanced.
It causes Migraines.
Aching joints.
Stomache pains.
Sharp cramps in your feet or hands.

Stuff like that.
Believe me.
The only reason I take my anti - depressants is to make sure I dont hurt like that again.

This sounds cleche but I feel pain in my heart.... like I have a broken hearted feeling when I get depressed. Also I feel it when I get nervous, usually before I talk to the dude I like....

my stomach hurts and it feels bad on my heart.......if im realy depressed sometimes ill get sick......headache stomach ache and throwing up

What my councellor-dude said, was that sometimes with depression...you can bruise like...super easily. O . o?...

I don't know where he got that...because I think that's loaded, right there...

Yeah, it's what she ^ said. I don't have depression, but I've read about it several times, and those are the sort of symptoms of depression "hurting physically."
