The humans and the faes. Two kingdoms were drawn apart by human paranoia. The humans are scared of what magic can do and what their fae brethren could do with their magical powers. This fear has caused the humans to have a deep hate for any magic user, including their once close friends the Fae. While the humans want nothing to do with magic many Fae were happy with their magical lives. Now able to live peacefully among magic users, though while they are happy both humans and fae treat each other roughly. Those stuck in the kingdom are either treated poorly or killed by the kingdoms residence. Due to hostility shown by humans towards fae and cold shoulders shown by the Fae both kingdoms have built up a growing tension. A tension that lasted years before the human King decided to declare war, pleading to the case of 'The Fae started it first, killing out men' and while the argument wasn't entirely incorrect it was wrong since both sides had killed people of the other kingdom. War was waged for 5 years before it ended at a stand-still. The humans morale had dropped since the beginning, their kingdom was much deprived of natural resources thus their people suffered greatly and many died from not having proper care. While the Fae didn't have a resource problem as their kingdom was lush with natural resources they were running out of soldiers, their long lives made childbirth hard and hazardous to the mother. While the two kingdoms had an unspoken agreement to halt the war, some civilians weren't happy with how things were and wanted proof. A marriage was then arranged between a fae princess and a human prince what better way to represent an end to a war with the union of two people?

The morning air was cool and smelt like morning dew and while the birds chipred softly and small fairies floated around there was nothing "happy" about it. Curtains were parted to make way for dawn light to flood into the room. The door that lead out to the balcony followed suit to be opened. 'Annoying... It's all so irritating.' The young princess Eleanora stepped out onto her balcony and leaned against the railing. Today was so stupid. This marriage arrangement was stupid, the idea of being bound together, even for show, with a human was the most aggravating thing of all for the fae princess. Not only was she destined to listen to his unintelligent ways but also she'd have to deal with being in the shabby kingdom the humans called home. Unlike the elegant kingdom of Zimid the human kingdom was run down and shabby at best. The princess closed her eyes as her stress levels rose from the degrading thoughts of human interaction. Leaning against the sturdy railings she screamed in irritation, better to get everything off of her chest now then ruin the reputation of her kingdom later on today. "Aagh!" With a huff she sighed, it was no good she wanted to throw something at whoever made the decision that the two were to be married. Eleanora tilted her head to the side, she needed to get ready; she was to leave for the human kingdom after breakfast.

The meal was made short due to final preparations for her leave and while breakfast had usually been a quiet ordeal between her, her two siblings, and her father today was different. The king had spent the short time making sure she understood her role in this "truce", she was to secure fae power within the human kingdom and "help" her fiance with decisions about the well-being of the people. Her father didn't like humans but the kingdom wasn't in a position to finish off the war. Of course, their side was the most likely to have won but with not enough men to fight they were at a loss. Humans outnumbered them but they outpowered the humans. After breakfast Eleanora was escorted to her carriage that awaited her. She was loaded into it along with the waves of goodbyes from her people. The councilmen nodded their head in respect as she drove off, like hell they cared. Playing innocent they may but she knew better than to expect such concern from them, she was to play the good little puppet for their plans. Eleanora looked at her reflection in the glass of the carriage. Blonde hair left loose with a gold circlet adorning it her dress was made of purple silk, with gold embroidery on it and overlayed with a green-grey cover for her sleeves. The young fae tucked a strand of hair behind her long ear, thoughts of what the prince might look like passed through her mind easy. He was probably some fat slob who thought humans were superior to their obviously greater faes. 'Hmph! He's probably some weakling who can't rule the people just like his father...'

The human king at the moment was less than great and compared to her father, he was unnoteworthy but because of current arrangements she was to show the small human king and his heir respect.. At least to their faces that was. There was never a rule she couldn't let out her frustrations during her private time, which given the fact that she was a fae being in human territory they would most likely be putting spies in on her to make sure nothing suspicious happened to the prince. Though that begged to question how in the world they would expect her to cooperate politically with no privacy and if they would even trust her opinions. She may be a puppet but she still had a duty as a princess to get the people's word in and act as a shining example of 'goodwill' that the fae had. Eleanora rolled her shoulders as she relaxed against her seat, and watched the passing scenery. "Goodbye dear Zimid..." Mumbling to herself she closed her eyes.

                                        -Time Skip-

How long had the trip been? By the time she arrived at the castle midday had rolled on in, and while she and her escorts had made some occasional stops her legs grew restless from lack of proper stretching but the feeling wasn't something she wasn't accustomed to some extent. She was used to the restless feeling that grew with each boring public meeting she was to attend and partake in. Eleanora's posture was called to attention as her carriage door was opened and a hand appeared from the outside. Taking it gently she departed the carriage. 'Graceful.. These humans love a show..' Once she left the carriage she released the hand and smiled at the footman, bowing her head in thanks. 'Eww. The air here is disgusting and what is this gloomy atmosphere?' The human kingdom was less than good looking, and she could almost smell the vile dirtiness that poor humans emitted. She could feel onlookers burn holes into her, but even so she kept her head up high and her back straight. Humans really detested the fae and while she could practically feel the whispers of disgust being aimed at her she was to busy reminding herself not to try burning anything or anyone that irritated her. She was lead by a human servant into the castle and was guided to the audience hall where she was to meet her human fiance and the King.

Standing in the front of the audience hall doors, she took a deep breath before stepping forward, as if on cue the doors opened and the escort announced her present. "Princess Eleanora from the Fae Kingdom Zimid has arrived your royalness." With a bow the escort left and she walked in. She gave her best smile and dipped low. "It is an honor to be here your highness. Thank you and on behalf of Zimid's King I have brought gifts to show our gratitude."

"My lord, it is time to arise.. " whispered the elderly servant to the young prince who was sleeping so soundly. This had probably been the fourth time, trying to wake the weary prince, and just like the other times, he simply rolled over and attempted to dismiss the servant. However, this time, "by order of the king he was to rise at once.", as stated by the attendant. The prince knew what day it was. He knew what event was to take place, and that reason alone, made him want to stay in bed even longer. Alas, he knew his father would give him trouble. The oh-so-terrible King, was quite the threat, not only in the kingdom of Toryn, but to the other kingdoms around. A low grumble escaped him as he sat up onto his bed, forcing himself out of it.
The commotion of the commoners and merchants outside of his chambers were rather loud this morning. He walked over to the nearest window and scoffed. "This kingdom has always been quite homely...Once I'm king, I'll need to change a few things around here.." He spoke this under his breath and tore his gaze away from the unsightly visage. Ever since the war, everything has come to look grotesque. With little care and resources, our home was now in shambles. And it was all the Faes fault. Their unnatural abilities has become a threat to all beings aside themselves. We could have taken down those creatures had it not been for our current state. But now, Vale must face a different event, the undesirable marriage.

He was going to meet his fiancée today, some Fae princess that he had no connection to. They were just to be used as propaganda for the citizens. Of course, he tried to argue, but the iron-fisted king gave him no say. Vale began his normal morning duties, all ending with him sitting at the long table, with his father at the other end. The king glared at the raven-haired prince and continued to eat his morning meal. "Yes, yes..I'll behave." Vale stated reassuringly to the king and arose from his seat. "For now." He added exiting the room and returning to his chambers until his time of freedom was up.

-Time skip-

As the young Prince sat in his chamber, the day-to-day merchant calling, cheering crowds, and occasional drunk fights came to a chilling silence. Vale furrowed his eyebrows and walked to the window once more. Within seconds, he knew why. Vale could swear up and down Faes attracted too much attention to themselves, whether they were trying to or not. Vale sucked his teeth and proceeded to exit his chamber and head towards the audience hall where the meet-n-greet were to commence.
Entering the hall, he saw the King and accompanied him near the throne. Their unspoken scowls have become their own language at this point. The king took his seat and began speaking to his advisors while Vale looked towards the entrance of the hall. With arms folded, he thought for a moment about what this girl would look like. Will she look just as unnatural as the Faes' abilities were? Vale didn't know, neither did he really care. He just knew he was going to wed whatever came through that door. Soon he heard the announcement he had been dreading all day, the princess had arrived. He watched her walk in, courtesy, and flash a bright smile, thanking us on behalf of their king. Vale didn't crack even a grin towards this girl. He felt disgusted towards this female magic user. However, her outside appearance wasn't as grotesque as he would have imagined. In the midst of his thoughts, the king of Toryn arose from his throne, raised his arms above his head, and flashed his prize-winning smile, "It is an honor to have you, Princess. Welcome to Toryn." He stated looking over to the prince. Vale glanced at the king and then back towards the outsider. "Welcome...", he started, unfolding his arms. "And what has your king sent us, dear princess of the Fae kingdom of Zimid?" he asked mockingly pacing slowly in her direction. The king said nothing but kept his eye on the pale prince.

Eleanora's gaze, while on the king, wasn't honestly taking in his appearance. She had already heard about him and the description she'd heard matched up quite well with the real thing. She bowed her head in thanks to his greeting, a gesture she'd had practiced several times leading up. Her gazed stayed on the king only for a while longer as followed his gaze to the Prince. His were almost as disappointing as her original thoughts had made him out to be. While he wasn't some fat pig he was definitely a pig of sorts, his snarky voice made that clear. She wasn't stupid and while for now she was going to fake ignorance she would have to repay him greatly later with a snarky attitude and maybe a few "treats" of her own. Eleanora looked back at a Fae servant that remained here with her for the time being, she raised her hand in their direction and on command the small Fae rushed forward and handed her the scroll of paper that served as a checklist to what the king had provided. She unrolled the paper and skimmed over the items holding it up purposely skewing the Prince's gaze of her and blocking out his face to her. "Well your majesty we've brought jewels, gold, money, and many of the precious minerals that is needed by the people of Toryn." She rolled the scroll of paper back up and handed it back to the Fae servant., her gaze went to the King to see if his thoughts on the items would read on his face. While she may not like the King he was the one that business was being dealt with at the moment, the Prince could wait.

She wished she could just leave already, how long would she have to stay here before she could return home? She could feel the prince's presence get closer to her and so did the urge to throw up get closer. The air he admitted was sickening, she looked in his direction and met his gaze. She was going to hold her ground but she was going to have to wait till later to make him regret using such tones with her. "I can assure you dear Prince of Toryn that the items listed should be satisfactory for your standards." She used the word 'standards' lightly, these humans had the worst of standards she wouldn't be surprised if his standards were as sloppy as the things crafted by the humans.

She kept eye contact with the Prince for a while longer "Is there anything else you're interested in?" While she hardly cared if the Princes had questions, she had to keep etiquette in public.. or well to a certain extent at least. Eleanora's eyes drifted around the room, taking in the a new area. She had to learn the outline of this castle if she ever hoped to get anything accomplished for her father. "Actually may I have a look around? I would like to grow more accustomed with this castle." She wanted out of this room and away from this creepy Prince and stupid King. While she had doubts they could say no to her requests as she wasn't asking to go to the city but she also doubted they would just give her a servant to show her around. Hopefully this King wouldn't stick his insufferable son on her, but since they were fiancees the idea didn't seem too unfathomable.

Vale continue to gaze at the princess, even after she rudely blocked him out with the list of unneeded hand-outs. The arrogance of the girl was almost insulting. It seemed as though their king pitied the humans. Did we appear this desperate? Vale scoffed and rolled his crimson eyes. He almost wanted to laugh at this girl's response.
To our standards, she says? How degrading this wench was. Just as Vale was going to speak, the king 's voice was heard once again throughout the hall as he delivered a warm smile to the princess. " Thank you very much, young princess. I will be sure to send my gratitude to your king.. " He stated, nodding to the princess. Vale brought his hands to his hips and stared dauntingly towards the arrogant Fae.
Being that Vale was quite a child, he smirked and brought his index and thumb up to his chin, inspecting her. Whist looking her up and down he spoke, " Anything else I'm interested in, you say? " He said, as if to check her out. Though he didn't necessarily care for the girl, he thought it might have been a way to irritate her. As he thought of other ways to sway her, he noticed within his peripheral vision the elites, advisors, and servants were all whispering and gesturing to one another. The gestures seemed to be aimed at the forced couple and their hostile atmosphere. The burning gaze of the King was unnerving. Vale figured he would need to tone down is behavior or else he was going to have to explain to his father why he was unable to keep a simple promise of obedience.
Catching the princess's unsettling eye contact, Vale smiled deviously. The king smiled once again and spoke, " Why dear princess, it would be a pleasure fulfilling your request. My son would love to escort you around our fine establishment. Our top priority, is that you are comfortable in our home. Isn't that right, Vale? " The king asked with his normal monotone voice, excluding the emphasis placed on Vale's name. Vale, of course, knew what this meant. Though vale would rather jump out of his chamber window, he figured his father's wraith was more terrifying than anything else.
" Why, of course! Such....beauty...deserves to be given the greatest tour. And I would love nothing more than for your escort to be me. " Vale stated almost sarcastically as he bowed nice and low for the princess and began taking long strides in her direction. It didn't take very long for him to be within half and arm's length in front of her, gliding his hand along her shoulder and up to her chin, where he raised it slightly and looked down upon her. In the eyes of bystanders, this seemed to look practically romantic. He glared at her and snickered. " Shall we be off then, fair lady? " He whispered as he about-faced and walked in the opposite direction. In front of him was the door leading to a long passage way.
The passage was dimly lit with beeswax candles and decorated with fully armored statues wielding the occasional sword or spear. At the end of the passage was a large, sturdy door which led to the main corridor of the castle. This corridor, much like the passage, was stone built and decorated with the finest weaponry and pieces of art. Two bending staircases sat in the middle of the corridor and merged into one at it's peak. These stairs led to a two way hall one going left and the other right. Below the stairs was another passage, leading to another part of the castle along with the right side of the stair on the first floor. Red carpets draped the stairs with small golden tassels on the ends. The corridor was well-lit, showing all of the vibrant colors of the corridor stained windows. The prince of the grandeur castle stood in the middle of the corridor and sighed. He would occasionally look at one of the servants scurrying around to go clean or prepare the next meal. Vale waited for the Princess and her response to the Humans' standard of living and waited for yet another obnoxious comment.

A small nod came from the blond fae in response to the King's thanks. She was shocked he had manners after being brave enough to declare war on the Fae and while she'd love to hate him; right now she had an annoying little boy on her hands. The way his gaze ran over her body made her feel unclean let alone uneasy. She had to stop herself from rolling her eyes at the Prince, her head swiveled to the side as she broke eye contact with him. It wasn't soon after she did that was her attention called back to the king. What she had hoped for not to happen was made a reality by the King, was he able to read her mind or was her unwillingness to be near the impudent brat that clearly made? Whatever the case she soon found herself being told that the Prince was to be her escort for now. She just wanted to be away from him! Why was that such a hard thing to request? She wanted to be out of this human kingdom and away from their scum.

She could almost taste his sarcasm, he sure knew how to impress people with his stupidity. She watched him bow and in all honesty was surprised he even knew how to do such a thing, after all the things human royalty had made clear to the Fae over these years it was surprising that they still taught their offspring proper etiquette. "Thank you. I hope I am not taking time out of your busy schedule Prince Vale, it would be a shame to know I had taken such precious time from you to escort me around." She was half serious about his time being precious and even less serious about feeling bad. She could care less if this kingdom fell into ruins but it was in the Fae's best interest if their government stayed somewhat intact and that they had good relations, installing Fae power wasn't going to be easy though. She'd have to gain the King's trust along with the Prince's. The thought of having to get close to either was enough to make her throw up if she was given the chance.

While the Prince got closer her heart stopped beating, she did not want to be touched by the Prince. Her whole body could have shriveled up if given the chance when contact was made. 'Remove your hand. Don't touch me idiot. I don't want your stupidity to rub off on me!' The Princess' thoughts spent up as his body grew closure and closure to her. His hand was soon on her chin lifting her face higher, she bite her tongue as he whispered to her. He smelt unpleasantly like the human world outside these walls, dark and even corrupt. She smiled up at him and nodded, the sooner she knew her way around the sooner she'd be able to get away from him and go about her own personal objectives. His hand soon released her chin and he was off to lead her around. Surprisingly he had not courtesy to lead her by the arm, not surprising given his current behaviour and even if she did the chances of her being grateful for the offer was almost nothing. In fact, she happier being able to keep a gap between her and the human. The halls were ok, for a human structure. It was different then the Fae created castle in which she lived in. The castle mages had created balls of light to illuminate the corridors, something quite more pleasant than the dank human candles that lined the walls. While she wasn't going to deny that the Fae had candles of their own the chances of being used for such mundane things as lighting a corridor were slim. They rarely used candles as they just weren't needed. Many Fae were in tune with the earth rather it be that they were better at creating lights or using fire, most were able to sufficiently learn how to illuminate areas with their magic.

While magic was not understood by humans it was still hard to wrap her hand around the ideas humans created about magic. The two reached a staircase and her eyes were drawn to the stained glass windows that came upon entering the second floor. They were nice, she'd give the humans credit for that. Though did she have a taste for them? No, while her own castle was extraordinary it was in a different way but to each their own. While she had a hate for humans she had to teach herself to give them some sort of break. 'Ha! As if! This stuff is a tad gaudy, not only that but their wasting resources that already struggle to keep and come begging us to give them. They waste everything given to them. I wonder how long our gifts will last them before the ask for more.' She came to a halt when she realized the Prince had stopped and stared at her. What did he want? A magic trick? Her to roll over and to say humans were the better species? Ha! As if she would. She wasn't here to entertain him and wasn't going to give him the pleasure of such a thing easily. She walked past him and went further into down the corridor and while she may not know her way around; she wasn't going to rely on him for too long. She just needed the basics of where things were and the rest she could figure out herself.

She sighed as she examined her surroundings. The silence between the two was irritating at best but she preferred it over talking to the fool. Eleanora crossed her arms as she stopped looking at the Prince before looking at the windows, both were boring and plain in her eyes. Giving him a mocking gaze she quickly changed it to another object.

After a few moments of uncomfortable silence between the two royals, he watched the princess walk right past him and began to explore on her own. Vale shook his head, " Such an idiotic girl.. " He thought to himself and began to follow her so that the daunting female doesn't get lost and get him in deep trouble for not being the proper escort.

He followed her for a bit, deeper into the corridor. He didn't necessarily care if she led herself, but he wasn't about to follow the girl in a lost silence all throughout the castle. They may not like each other, but unfortunately, they were going to have to speak to one another sooner or later. Picking up her pace, he walked alongside her with some distance in between them. " Theatre must be very common in your kingdom...You're quite the actress, I must say." He stated without looking in her direction. Though he wasn't much of an actor, his sarcasm was enough to fool the dimwitted elites. However, now that he was speaking to her with all seriousness, needed to speak were her on a private note.

He glanced around to make sure the other servants weren't nearby. He looked at her from the corner of his eye and continued, " That aside, I'm sure you realize this transaction won't go smoothly with us bickering. I suggest you get accustomed to this "downgrade", your highness.. " He stated glaring at her for a moment and faced their walking direction once more. The noises their footsteps made echoed throughout the corridor. Around this corridor stood many doors, simply wooden with steel bars across them.

These many doors led to simple rooms like studies, dining halls, kitchens, resting rooms, libraries which contained articles of all kinds, and meeting rooms. Some other rooms were forbidden to enter, even from the prince. A couple doors led downstairs into the cellar where wine and other alcoholic beverages were stored. Upstairs were a plethora of sleeping chambers, lavatories, baths, and such with a balcony in every room.

Regardless of where she looked or traveled he was destined to follow her until she's satisfied with her tour. " What is it you Faes do with your down time? Concoct potions and whatnot? Do you have any hobbies? Or maybe you're just constantly sassy and bitter.. " He asked, stating the last part under his breath, possibly loud enough for the Fae to hear the human prince. Then again, who knew? Maybe the Faes had super hearing.

The silence continued and as the time went she started to almost forget his presence, or well try to at least but the time of blissful silence was gone as he sped up his pace to keep up with her. He was annoying, couldn't she walk without him being in her space? Whatever the case she glanced at him from her peripheral view as he spoke. An actress huh? Did he think she did this just for fun? The idiot. "Hmph.." The remark was quick and she turned her gaze to a new object. She turned sharply and looked in one of the rooms. It was a library. Good to remember as she may have to revisit this area for more knowledge on petty human dealings.

Though as she might have hoped the Prince was done talking, he was not. He continued onwards to state the blatantly obvious that the relationship between the two was going to be anything but easy. With that statement she felt she could be more transparent about her feelings even with her actions proving that she wasn't happy about this. "Whoa. Honestly I'm surprised you were able to come to that conclusion yourself. A 'downgrade' this maybe I'm not here for my own feelings. I have more important things to worry about then making this marriage a happy little agreement and caring for a brat. We're not here to be happy but to make things work so I could careless what you think of me just so long as you don't impose your stupid thoughts on the rest of the Fae people." She returned his glare and spotted a new stairway, she headed on up the stairs.

"Well unlike you rolling around in my own filth isn't something I enjoy thus my hobbies include indulging in gardening and the works. I can't be deemed a good Fae ruler if I can't even take care of a small part of our land right. Other then that I help other Fae's with their own magic at times, but that's too complicated of a thing to explain to a human who obviously hates magic himself. Other than that I spend the rest of my time reading books, ones to complicated for you to understand." She looked back at him over her shoulder and gave him another mocking look, smirking slightly at her own remarks. "Being sassy isn't normally what I am but well what can I say, humans are annoying." She paused before continuing, "Also we Fae don't really 'concoct' potions on a regular basis. Actually, the only ones to do such thing as that are scholars, court wizards, doctors, or potion sellers. Other than that it's just another silly myth humans created. Though what I do hobby wise is just what I do, much like humans we Fae aren't constantly doing the same thing as each other. We all have our different interests. Though I do have to say a "hobby" of ours is working with the land."

Though she wasn't interested hearing what his hobbies were and she was surprised that she was even saying this much about herself, but if she was to have a good partnership or at least fool him into believing they had a good partnership she'd have to be somewhat nice to him occasionally. "And what hobbies would you have yourself other than being a human who has no sense of manners or logical reasoning?" She looked back at the stairs in front of her, stepping onto the last one they arrived at the top and the beginning of the next floor. What area was this? "And what area is this?" Eleanora walked down the corridor, half tempted to look inside the doors but wasn't interested in putting effort into seeing what disappointing things the humans had behind them.

Her responses made Vale chuckle and nod his head. This girl was much more interesting than the promiscuous and annoyingly desperate human women of the kingdom. The female Fae had one snarky comment after the other. At this rate, she was going to become a pain in the rear-end.

When speaking of caring for a brat, the prince couldn't retort because of the fact that it was probably true. However he didn't dismiss it as an insult. The prince simply shrugged and chuckled once more. " My my, getting quite riled up aren't we? I only asked a simple question milady. And though youre a.. " He paused to clear his throat, "...magic user...I haven't directly insulted your race...just yet. Though it appears you have no trouble at all insulting mine, yes?" He asked, eyeing her and smirking. His grin grew wider with every mocking look he received from the Fae. Listening to her, he recalled why he asked about her hobbies in the first place. "Well, princess, it probably won't satisfy you, but we do have a vast garden in the back of the castle where you can visit at any time you wish. " He stated while pointing in another direction where the supposed garden was to be located."And if your done mocking me, I wish to add how...intriguing you magic users are. With all of these strange roles you Faes have, it's hard to imagine the type of government you run." For once he actually seemed interested in how those monsters live. Having so much power, it's almost hard to believe they haven't turned on each other yet. Perhaps, maybe this was simply a human thing.

His hobbies? The sassy Fae actually asked what his hobbies were? Vale couldn't help but laugh. Hell, he was surprised enough she kept the conversation going. Vale placed his hands in the pockets of his silk pants and looked at her in a bit of a proud manner. "I suppose you were a bit correct on your previous statement. I do get quite messy at times. My hobby is jousting. I'm quite the knight in shining armor in this kingdom." He stated poking out his chest and smiling. "Perhaps you'd wish to see me in my armor, princess?" he said in a flirty tone, only because he knew it irritated her. Thinking back on it, Vale knew there was nothing he liked more than a good joust! He practiced whenever he had a lot of leisure time on his hands. He would ever get the servants out of work just to practice with him. Near the gardens was a couple of jousting tracks for where they held kingdom competitions annually. Once he was finished boasting, he looked around them.

They were at the top of the stairs on the second floor of the castle. With the conversation they were having, he had forgotten that he was giving her a tour. He sighed and pulled one hand out of his pockets and pointed down the left hall. "These are all of the sleeping chambers, mainly for important guests who arrive from afar. Mine is at the very end of the hall." He paused as he then pointed to the right hall, "These are all of the bathrooms and lavatories and such. We have many rooms made specifically for relaxation. If you ever want a good massage, find Carrie. She'll put you to sleep." He snickered and began walking down the left hall, with all of the chambers. "Do Faes even sleep? You magical beings should be able to just keep yourselves awake with your powers, no?" He asked curiously. All human believed magic was powerful enough to do practically anything with ease. If there's one thing Vale knew, humans have always had to work for their things. They may not be the greatest race, but at least they couldn't just magically bend things to their will and convenience. But, of course, he didn't say this out loud. The last thing he wanted was a debate with such a difficult person.

Eleanora rolled her eyes. Though he may have not said anything to her directly about being Fae but he was part of the royal family that belonged to the human court, the same royal family that caused all this. In her eyes she saw him as just another royal human with the same hate for Fae as they all had. She remembered the times, the stories, of how great humans and Fae had gotten along and now because of the stupid war half Fae's were all but extinct. While he may have thought her hate was misdirected to him, she couldn't help nor did she want to, they deserved cruel words and harsh treatment for all the pain they had caused her people. Families had been slaughtered because of the humans hate for them, children in Zimid had lost parents who came to Toryn. His smile was irritating and it reminded her how stupid humans were. There was nothing good about them, they were all but to quick to stab their allies in the back just as they were to make up with them just to save themselves. She couldn't help but glare at him, though his words about this garden of their softened her. She was a sucker for plants, one could say they were her friends and to the Fae's that was normal but from a human standpoint it probably would put her in the evil and crazy category. "You'll have to show me this garden.. And maybe I could teach you what magic is really like."

Did this.. Did this brat have a problem with her government? Her government?! He was one to talk the human hierarchy was a complete mess and he was saying it was hard to imagine hers?! Eleanora couldn't help but laugh. "You can't imagine how our's is?! I'm suprised you humans even have one!" Eleanora quickly cleared her throat and calmed herself, she had gotten to amused and laughed at him. "Our government isn't really that different. Believe it or not when Zimid and Toryn were friends long ago you humans used to have spectacular court wizards of your own. Or so I believe. While yes our lifestyles vary in certain ways our government runs the same as yours. We have a King who makes the decisions, we have Princes and Princesses who look after the people and while the royal family is much smaller than human ones we generally run the same due to our long lives."

Before she had realized it herself she was schooling the Prince on what Faes really were. This was good right? Whatever the case somehow it ended up like this and to her shocking surprise the Prince seemed interested in knowing things about Faes. She hadn't expect that at all, in fact she wasn't sure how she felt about him wanting to know more. On one hand she was afraid to tell him things about the Faes, he was a human and humans twisted words for their own gain. What if he twisted her words into something harmful against the Fae and after all her Father's work. No, after all of Zimid's work she didn't wish to have harm done to them once again by human hands. Yet on the other hand she wanted to tell this brat the truth. To let him know what was lies and what was truth about her people. While her duty, given to her by her father, was to install Fae power, she also had the duty of making sure her people were no longer misunderstood. His laughter caused her to jump slightly she had been so torn by her own thoughts she almost missed what he said.

He liked to joust? That was human sport was it not? While Zimid had its entertainment jousting was a human created event that Zimid got rid of during the war but even before hand they had never done it unless requested by a human royal who came to visit. It was a human sport that Zimid just didn't like, it was too violent and not only that didn't it risk one's life? "You? A shining knight? I find that very hard to believe." She gave him a deadpan look as she tried to picture him in armor and cringed at the picture. "Maybe. If I get bored enough I might think about it but I have doubts I'll ever get bored enough to do such a thing."

He was quick to explain the surroundings around them. She looked at the end of the left-hand corridor, his room was at the end of the corridor huh? She'd mark that down for later just in case she needed to get payback against him for whatever reason. She followed his hand to the right side of the hallway. Carrie? She'd doubt she'd need such assistance but whatever the cases she'd remember that too. Better to get everything covered just in case she needed something done then to forget something. She followed him down the hallway and was about to ask how big their garden was when he asked a dumbfoundedly stupid question. Eleanora stopped in her tracks and gave him a look of bewilderedness. What sort of question was that? Do Fae even need sleep? Of course they needed sleep! They needed sleep to function just like anyone else! "Of course we sleep! We only wish we could do that! Please tell me that was some sort of rhetorical question." She furrowed her brows and sighed, using a hand to massage her temples she decided she needed to clear something up with the human. "Let me make this clear. Yes, magic is powerful. Yes, it can do quite a lot of things. But bending basic needs such as sleeping, eating, and whatever else you'd need to survive is not possible... Sure we can speed up the growth of plants and sure we can create fire but sleeping is something magic can stop.." She shook her head. Wow humans had a lot to learn about magic. While she herself didn't know everything and all things about magic she did know that even magic had its limitations.

Though as she thought more about how far these human misunderstandings could go she found herself becoming more and more irritated. "For future notice if you're curious about magic just ask me... Even if the question is as stupid and bothersome as that I'd rather clear up any more unreasonable things before it's too late." Now more than Eleanora wanted to go to the garden. She needed something distressing for her to mind and gardening was always something she found soothing. "Show me to the garden."

As the Fae princess spoke, the human prince simply nodded. He was perfectly fine with showing her the garden since it would be apart of the tour anyway. However, with her actually asking to go to a specific place I the castle made him chuckle a bit. He thought about what other places in the castle she would be interested in, but alas, there weren't a lot of options for the Fae's enjoyment.

Soon his thoughts were interrupted when she began to explain the organization of the Fae government. Vale was a bit confused on how similar their governments were. Not only that, Vale didn't seem to recognize any court wizards or whatever. Then again, he didn't really care about who worked with his father. And hearing her speak of the older times, when the kingdoms were close together made him cringe. How the kingdoms were able to get along back then, were beyond him. But, he simply nodded to the princess. And after doing so, he blinked at the fact he didn't have a retort. He was accepting her words as they were. The prince tensed up, realizing they were actually having a clean conversation about one another, learning. It was...a very strange feeling. At first he was completely appalled by the female and her race. In fact, he couldn't say he wasn't still appalled however he could tell something was changing. She was still annoyingly sassy, but still explained the truth behind the Faes and what their world is like. Vale was actually starting to notice many human myths and thoughts about Faes were left field. However, she could just be telling lies to him. Just trying to make it as if they weren't so different. He know the two races could not truly stand together ever again. This marriage was simply going to fall apart just like the original friendship between the kingdoms, and we will be in war once more. It was only a matter of time.

Breaking away from his thoughts of the inevitable, he looked back at her with a smirk. "Oh please, I'm sure you'd love to see me in my gear. I believe I'm quite the looker. I could prove it to you, easy!" He said jokingly to her and gave a hearty laugh.

After he asked his, apparently, idiotic question, he couldn't help but snicker. She was getting so annoyed over a question most humans have been wondering about. Seeing that the Fae had such magical abilities, the humans simply assumed they could do practically anything. But, as proven wrong by the princess, they cannot, which impressed the prince. He watched her shake her head in astonishment. What could he say? We wouldn't know unless we asked right? This made him wonder how far their magic could go. What was the utmost limit to their abilities? Or maybe weaknesses? He could probably find out with a bit more prying. Especially since she is allowing him to ask any questions he may have about their abilities, which was perfect for him. Maybe he would tell the king and try to finally win his father's approval. Maybe.

Before, it was a simply request. Now, it seemed she demanded to see their garden. He smirked at her and shrugged. "Fine. Follow me please." He stated as he turned on his heel and led her back down the carpeted staircase. He went across the corridor and down the hallway below the stairs which led to the many steel plated doors. At the end of said hallway, a light shown through a very large two-door exit. As he approached it and pushed it, a bright ray of light forced it's way into the dimly lit castle.

The outdoors seemed to be much brighter than when the princess arrived. Slightly clouded with a gentle breeze was felt as he peered out passed the outdoor pillars. The pavement past the pillars led to an archway covered with...err..plants? Vale never really had a clue of what each was. He just knew them as flowers and grass and leaves. He never really cared much for the garden in general. The path that went through the green archway led to a sea of flowers and other plant life strung throughout the land behind the castle which eventually led to the wooded area. Here and there was a fountain or a small statue. The pathway swerved and streaked the garden so maneuverability was easy. Many colors could be seen however, with the declining amount of resources the kingdom was facing, it has become rather difficult for the workers to keep up with such a massive garden. It was apparent that some of the flowers with withering and some plant life, turned lifeless instead.

Vale slipped his hands deep within his pockets once more and looked to the princess. "This is the garden.. Now what were you saying about teaching me what magic really was? I would just love a good demonstration, princess."

While Eleanora might not have liked the Prince she had to give him his dues though that he honestly listened to what she said about the Fae. It was hard to believe that for once he wasn't going to try saying something in response to her. Maybe he wasn't too bad of a human.. Or well that was till he came up with a new remark to him in armor. Eleanora snorted at his narcissistic words, she had high doubts of him being better looking just by wearing armor but stupid believes what stupid wants. She rolled her eyes at the Prince, he maybe good looking by human standards but Eleanora had better taste in looks. Not only that but the idea of finding him of all humans attractive felt dirty and almost as if she was going back on her goal.

He was quick to answer her demands to see the garden and turned quickly to go down the stairs once more. She followed him silently down and into the corridor in which she was led down to hallway filled with steel plated doors. The hallway ended in double doors in which the Prince pushed open. The sun was a bit blinding, her eyes having adjusted to the dimmer lighting of the castle. Eleanora winced slightly as the sun made contact with her eyes, she followed the Prince out and towards their garden. The view of their "garden" was almost as depressing as having to marry the Prince. The walkway to the garden had an archway entangled with stalks of flowers before it. As she passed under it, she reached out and touched a leaf. It was smooth but felt a bit dry, they were close to dying. The rest of the garden looked worse it was either dead or looked to be on the verge of death. There were small pockets of flowers that looked to be ok but this large scale of wilt was horrifying. The Fae kingdom had never been this bad, it was obvious she was going to have to use a ton of magic to just get these plants back into a healthier state but she was concerned. Could anything even be done? The whole land of Toryn was barren of lots important things that plants, no the environment needed to survive. She walked to the left side of the walkway and crouched down along the flower bed. She felt the soil and picked up some of the loose dirt. It didn't feel like good soil. Eleanora crumbled the soil out of her hand watching it as it fell.

She was half listening to the Prince she was to busy thinking about a more important matter at the time being. The humans had really put a toll onto the earth, they would need to have a major amount of magic done on the field to even get it back into a semi-normal state. Eleanora dusted her hands together letting the rest of the soil fall from her hands, she cupped them and raised them to her lips. Blowing softly on them she let them glow a pale green. Using magic was a hard thing to explain especially to someone who wasn't a Fae or half fae. It was a feeling and a concept that words couldn't properly tell. When she was satisfied with how her hands glowed and tingled she touched the leafs of a small shirveled flower. It was on its last legs and withing seconds of touching it the vibrant green it once had was restored. The flower rose up slightly, standing with a new perkiness. She got close to the flower and blew softly on its few remaining petals. The petals tat were missing grew back at a fast rate while the ones that remained attached regained life. The process was quick and once the flower seemed to regain life completely she removed her hands and drew back. She watched it for a while, she wanted to see if it would stay alive and for how long. A few minutes passed and once the flower seemed to keep itself together for that time she grabbed a full handful of dirt and stood up. Blowing in her hand softly she put as much magic into the dirt. Fae's nature magic wasn't magic to many Fae, she remembered how her teacher referred to their gift, especially the royal families gift. The Fae were tools for nature; able to change the life force of the world into a power which could be given back to the earth. A take and give effect. The royal family were the strongest at converting this power and using it to their desires, able to effect large amounts of land with the ability.

She grew satisfied after a while of blowing on the dirt, she waved her hand wildly over the flower bed, spreading the dirt far. She walked sideways and repeated the action till her hand had no dirt left. She watched the flower bed and smiled as her magic slowly started to work, the wilting flowers sat up happily in their bed. She nodded at her work, while she could do things like this; she wasn't as skilled as her father. The leaders of the royal family had always been more skilled at magic then their young offspring and Eleanora couldn't wait till she was as good as her father. The King was the one who kept the land of Zimid healthy, while he wasn't the only one in charge he was the one who made sure that the land didn't fall into the same situation as Toryn. She would have to do this again tomorrow most likely but for now, the flowers were at somewhat decent to look at. There were small bits and pieces of dirt stuck onto Eleanora's hands, dusting them off to remove the remaining bits. She looked over at the Prince. "Not my best work but with how poor Toryn is right now, that is all I can afford to do."

Without much of a response from the princess, he simply followed her to see what exactly she was about to do. Walk around? Gaze at daisies? Scold him for not keeping up with the plants? Whatever it was, he would just shrug it off. That is until he watched her crouch near a bed of flowers that seemed to be dying, if not already dead. He crouched somewhat behind her and slightly to the left so he could see what she was doing. He questioned why she was feeling the dirt on the ground as she let if fall back to the earth. Vale laughed to himself, was she even going to use her powers or whatever or was she going to keep playing in the dirt? He even began to doubt her abilities until she cupped her hands and began blowing on them. His eyes grew in awe as he witnessed her hands change in to a glowing green color. Despite the long ago friendship and even the war, he hasn't seen magic using up this close. Perhaps afar, but not within arm's reach. He never cared as much, he simply listened to the stories told by the servants while a stayed in his chambers majority of his time when he wasn't practicing his Joust.

She placed a soft touch to the leaf of a flower slowly becoming deceased. As she did this, the flower seemed to regain life in mere seconds. The flower stood as if reaching for the sky, the withered petals were replaced by beautiful new ones. Vale crawled a bit closer, not to be near the Fae but, of course, to have a greater view of such an event. Vale couldn't remember the last time he's seen any of the plants this green. Not since the spring before the war. He looked at her, the princess seeming to be within deep concentration. He wished to say something, but he waited until she was finished with her hocus pocus and whatnot.

After gaping at the flower for a couple minutes, a perplexed look came across the human's face. What was she looking for? The flower was alive and well again, why was she just staring at it? Such a strange Fae...But yet he simply watched it along side her, trying to see what she was looking for as well. Without obtaining an answer, he continued to monitor her, following her stance. As she stood, she grabbed a handful of dirt again. What is with this girl and dirt? He couldn't comprehend the passion these Fae share with plants and nature and such. It was almost hilarious, really. She began blowing on the dirt instead of letting it fall, this time. The change in actions made him focus on her.

It took her a moment, but after awhile she began spreading the dirt she blew on all over the place. In his eyes, she almost looked like a nut job. She kept repeating this action and it made Vale crack a smile. But, of course, she amazed him before, so he wouldn't be surprised if she did it again. Soon, the many flowers in the bed were rejuvenated and dancing. Vale took in the astonishing visage and simply nodded. He began pacing around the bed to admire her work and after that he began to clap, slowly. "Well, well, well." He started, turning his gaze back to the royal female. "I suppose I should thank you for livening this poor Toryn garden then?" He spoke sarcastically, but he knew well that he was truly amazed with her abilities. Sadly, they weren't as cool as stories told, but amazing none the less. He approached her, and bowed like before. "I humbly thank you, dear princess. As a gift, you can keep this garden if you wish. We don't necessarily have any use for it anymore." rising up from his bow, "And you seem to have quite the green thumb." He laughed and paused to gaze at the flowers once more. He had to admit, Faes were pretty interesting creatures.

Eleanora's hands were still glowing, something in which she needed to stop before she accidently caused a plan to over grow. The young Fae watched the Prince as he observed her work, while she didn't really care about his thoughts on her work just being able to show off to a human made her feel like boasting a tad bit. Though in better tastes she stopped herself; no need to get carried away just yet. "I hope you're joking but given the fact you're giving it to me I guess not.." She fell back into a silent state. Humans were idiots for sure. If he thought that this garden wasn't useful then he was wrong. This garden was just a small part of human land she could test her abilities with and maybe even expand onwards. If she could pull this garden into shape and get it to do what she desired then maybe she could do that with an entire country. The idea was good, it needed work but it was good. If she could take control of their land she could essentially take control of the country and successfully install Fae power here. "Thank you for the garden. I will take good care of it." She smiled down at her work. This garden was going to be the birth of a new relationship of Fae and Human. Plucking one of the newly revived flowers she smelt it; the fragrance was nice. It was good, even after plucking the flower it kept its liveliness but for how long it could maintain the life was the question. The question wasn't left unsolved for long as the flower wilted at a fast pace, crumbling in her touch.

Eleanora sucked her teeth. This was going to need work but for land that hadn't been introduced to magic in a long time she expected this much to happen. The fae made her way around the rest of the garden, picking up picking up handfuls of dirt and scattering it as she passed new beds of flowers. The plants perked up behind her one by one, making a happy trail towards her. "You're free to go when you see fit. I have much to attend to in concerns to this garden." She returned to giving him the cold shoulder having found a new source of entertainment that was less back talking and more pleasant to be with. Walking down the path she observed the severe conditionns of the plants and how she might fix this condition.

The princess had made her way past several beds of flowers until she stopped, looking at a half revived half dead garden she stood back and observed. She had used quite a bit of magic but this was nothing. Or so she'd like to say. This garden was magic hungry, in need of the nutrients only the earth and Fae could give it. She felt a bit light headed but it wasn't something she couldn't stand. Eleanora watched as some flowers started to slowly die back down. This garden would need something more along side with her magic to keep it running until it got used to the new element. "What would work?" Eleanora mumbled softly to herself in irritation while she bite her thumb and her brows furrowed together. She scanned her brain for things that would work. 'Maybe if I took a magic catalyst and combined it with--' Eleanora paused in her thoughts. A magic catalyst was it! That was what she'd need! A magic catalyst was the physical form of magic solidified and used in alchemy or potions usually but in rarer cases it could be used for things like this. With a magic catalyst she could plant them every few beds and allow the magic to help uphold the flow of life to the flowers!

While she solved one question she was left with another. How to go about making this many catalysts. To even make the catalyst required extreme amounts of magic but to make the amount she needed was almost insane. While possible she'd be waiting days, if not till the next season, for them to arrive to her.

Vale pretty much ignored her first comment and chuckled. "I'm sure you will." He stated with a simple sigh. He studied her motions all throughout the garden, smiling at the plants and sniffing the flowers. If the girl wasn't a Fae he would have probably questioned her sanity. Why would someone care for such a massive waste was beyond his comprehension but he could see she was happy. When the Fae princess is happy she's less cheeky, which was fine with Vale. As he watched her however, he saw that the flower crumbled soon smelling the flower. The flower she just rejuvenated. At this point, Vale couldn't help himself. He busted out laughing loudly. A moment ago, he was completely in awe of her abilities, only to find out she could barely handle this small human garden. After laughing heartily for a minute, Vale wiped the single tear that was forming and attempted to calm himself. "Looks like there's a lot of work to be done, right princess?" He said pushing his bangs away from his face and placing his hands on his hips.

When he finally settled down, he almost began laughing again when she started up again, playing in the dirt and erecting flowers all over the place. She's at it again. Vale could barely hold in his laughter, such an amusing girl. Vale followed behind her closely until she attempted to dismiss Vale. Attempted. The prince smirked. As much as he wanted to leave her in her own little world, he was to be her escort. Vale wasn't sure if their tour was to be over or not, but he wasn't about to risk it with his father. Besides that, however, he felt that even if he went anywhere else, he would simply be bored. "Does that mean I'm also free to stay? Because that's what I'll be doing instead." He retorted following her, not as closely as before. "Perhaps I'll leave later to go practice...." He thought to himself and shrugging. He realized he hadn't jousted in quite awhile since he had been occupied mentally preparing himself to meet this Fae female. Since the wedding news, he hadn't touched his lance. He looked over his shoulder towards the direction of the jousting field. However, from where they were standing he couldn't see it from there. "Oh well." He thought turning his attention back to the Fae. She seemed deep in thought for some reason. Why was she thinking so hard? She looked ridiculous. She was even talking to herself. Vale snickered but tried to stay quiet while she wracked her brain over half-dead plants. What on earth could she be questioning? Why her powers weren't working on the plants?

Though he tried to be quiet, he just simply couldn't. Not while she was looking so idiotic with such a look on her face. "What could you possibly be thinking about?" He asked as he eyed the princess and the flowers once more. "Whatever it is, is it really worth all of that thought? You're just now seeing the garden and you're already putting so much effort into it." He chuckled, raising his hand and gesturing the flower beds all around. "You'll be here for quite awhile, so what is your reason for trying to spruce up the land in just a day?" He asked in all seriousness. You would assume someone would try to settle in the day of travelling but yet here she is trying to solve an unnecessary problem. It was certainly perplexing to him. But he realized she was Fae after all. Have they always been so lively?
