Blood Singing Over Stone walked behind Stone's Blood, paying close attention to their surroundings. They'd only recently become certain that she was expecting, but the moment they'd suspected they'd started looking for one of Matope's chosen, a legendary kin to bless their offspring.
They had found several kin who spoke of a peculiar stag, one who rarely appear to be a stag, and his home, a pond within a pond. Not many had actually seen the stag's home, so they had only a vague idea of which way to go.
As they follow the path Blood Singing Over Stone watches Stone's Blood, wondering if he'd sound too fussy if he asked, again, if she was alright. He can't remember how many times today he'd already asked if she needed a rest, a drink, a bite to eat, so instead he bites his tongue and keeps his eyes on the path. It wouldn't do to have the mother of his children shoo him home because he'd over worried. After all, does have been having children since the beginning of time, even a first time mother has instinct and ancestral memories to help guide her.
Mika_Yumi He's probably asked once or twice an hour since they started this journey. He's totally not an overly worried first time dad. XD

Stone's Blood kept her eyes forward, watching the path ahead and taking careful steps, but she could feel Blood Singing Over Stone behind her. The totoma had been just as watchful of her steps as she had, and in lieu of being able to feel her own assurance with their progression, had asked several times if she was okay. It was sweet, really, but it was a tiresome question after a while, especially given that, aside from general nerves and the actual knowledge that she was carrying babes within, she felt almost entirely the same as she had her entire life of not expecting little ones. Still, she could feel a slight tension and knew it was about time for him to ask again.
"I am still well -- I promise that I will ask for your help if I need it." An amused sort of look passed over her. She hoped that her preemptive assurance would put him at ease, though only time would tell. She shuffled through some leaves and her ears flicked back, listening to his own steps behind her -- cautious, sturdy, the same as they had been. "Are you alright?" She had only asked him a fraction of the number of times he'd made sure that she was okay, always in response to his own asking. It was almost a bit of a joke to respond as such, though she also genuinely wanted to be sure that his nerves weren't getting the best of him. He seemed like a fairly calm buck, so long as no one were in danger, but his constant asking had her worried about his nerves now that it was certain he would be a father.
"Do you think we're getting close?" She could feel the earth's constant shifting beneath her and smell the changing air, and streams of light through the trees cast ever-shifting beams of light across her limited sense of vision, but she couldn't see enough to know if there might be a pond as close as she hoped. They had been travelling for some time, and she was admittedly eager to finally arrive. She wasn't sure what to expect -- she had heard so many stories about legendary kin, both good and bad. She wondered if they would get advice, or insight, or if it really would be as simple as a wish for their babies to arrive healthy.
The Cake Mage of Sheep She appreciates his adorable concern. x'3

"I am fine, thank you." he replies, and even though she can't see him his voice gives hint to the sheepish smile on his face. At least Stone's Blood seems to understand, something he's grateful for.
"I don't know. The directions we were given weren't exactly clear." stopping he pokes his head into the foliage, looking for a clearing. They'd been given little more than a general direction, and with all the plants it'd be easy enough to miss it.
As it turns out they were actually close, well at least on the right path, but still about half a day's walk away. Fortunately for them Fish Bones had decided to go for a walk that morning, rounding the bend just as Blood Singing Over Stone pulled his head out of the bushes. Stopping he smiles at the pair, "Good afternoon."
Mika_Yumi I tried tossing him in as his foxbun self, but this felt like it'd flow better.

Coming up to stand beside Stone's Blood, Blood Singing Over Stone nods at the stag. "We found him, yes." he answers.
"Good afternoon, sir. I hope you are well." he greets Fish Bones, bowing slightly. He'd never met one of Matope's chosen, but he'd heard stories. All of which left him unsure how exactly to procede, as legendary kin seemed to be just as varied as any other kin. Not even sure how much formality is expected he settles on warm politeness.
Smiling at the pair Fish Bones nods. "I'm well, thank you. And you?" his question regarding both of them, his glowing eyes giving both Zikwa and Totoma a look over. If he were a gambler Fish Bones would bet his largest shell they were here for a blessing. Though, the MotherFather's chosen did not only provide blessings, kin sought them out for advice and history as well. But, so far, it's been his experience that blessings are the most requested service.
Mika_Yumi Understandable, I'd think legendary kin to be seen as almost devine.

The doe gave a sort of sigh, some mix of relief and excitement, when her partner confirmed her suspicions. She stayed fixed on the points of light she could see, what must have been the stag's eyes, a point of clarity. Feeling the buck's shift beside her, Stone's Blood followed his lead and also gave a slight bow.
At the directed question, Stone's Blood couldn't help herself from smiling, "We are quite well." She didn't think about answering for both of them, though perhaps it was presumptuous of her. She had heard, somewhere, that chosen kin could sometimes sense when a doe was carrying, and she wondered if it was true, wondered if the stag could sense the kin slowly growing inside her. Even if he could, she decided that she might was well be clear, "We are expecting," she searched for the right words, "quite a blessing..."
She immediately wondered if perhaps that was too forward of her, but there was no taking it back now.
The Cake Mage of Sheep Definitely. And she's never met a legendary, so she's super nervous, haha.

There was a glow, from more than just the stag's eyes; a general radiance that Stone's Blood felt around her. She wasn't sure if it was just her imagination, or perhaps a cloud had moved from the sun above, or her own excitement for what was to come... Whatever it was, her heart was full.
"You as well," she did her best to let her joy emanate, to encourage the lovely energy flowing through her to bounce back towards the stag who'd been kind enough to bless them just a bit, just enough to let him know how appreciated it was. It was perhaps a silly thought, but she couldn't help herself.
She turned slightly then, reaching to find Blood Singing Over Stone and nuzzle him slightly. "Well then... shall-- shall we set for home?" It felt a bit strange, coming so far such a short and simple interaction, but she was unsure what else should be done, if anything. Though she wasn't sure that the buck had any more of an idea than she, it was her inclination to turn to him for reassurance.
